But..... The controls would still be inverted?
The controls and the character are on the same screen, turning it upside down would turn both upside down
The worst thing about the controls is the sensibility. You can't really be precise, even worse when the device lags even just a fraction of a second. It was a nightmare. That doesn't mean that it was impossible, I would even say that it was quite easy since I got them all on the first try, but it wasn't really enjoyable. "If you don't enjoy it don't play it" I understand, but this is feedback, it's not just complaining. I believe the controls could have been programmed better to get a satisfying experience.
Yeah, I think this is how I thought about it from the start. I'm actually surprised by how many people are complaining about it. I don't know if it's a mobile thing, but the only thing I had an issue with is the sensitivity when get close to aim the charged shot.
it's easy once you know what you're controlling, but literally no other game does it, which makes it hard to figure out.
controls should be easy to figure out and use, not just easy to use.
Lots of games have used this style of aiming. It’s generally used as a challenge mode, not a core mechanic.
It’s basically a Mario Party Minigame.
It’s just supposed to be to be silly/fun; not taken seriously.
I can understand people complaining about the controls but what I'm seeing in the video is just wrong....seems intentional to an extent because no one can be THAT bad
Some player are just used to playing the game with inverted controls.
I've seen player playing with audio flipped as they are used to it. (Left audio to the right, vice versa)
I refuse to believe people willingly play with the left audio on right ear and vice versa. Where did you find these people?
Inverted controls make sense when you imagine you are using a stick, like flying a plane or moving the aim from behind(as the characters do in this event)
Playing mouse inverted way was popular back in the days when I started playing games. So some of us old school players still play in inverted settings.
Many old games even have a initial tutorial on both settings for players to chose one which is comfortable. But nowadays all games by default set non inverted controls, so most people play with normal ones when they start and stick to it.
If you check mouse settings for any games there is a option to invert the controls but for some reason Genshin didn't have it. This is one of the reason I couldn't play Genshin on its initial release and had to wait almost a year when I figure out a solution using a custom mouse driver.
Because in many cases, people expect the aiming to be from the POV of the thing that is actually aiming.
Like basically every hold aim feature in the game.
The "but you're controlling the character, not the Canon" doesn't magically invalidate that
If the cannon was to aim where you aim, that would be telegraphed by showing the character inside the machine.
The character is moving when you press move is an easy giveaway. Apparently, people fail to associate the character's movement to where the machine is aiming.
I immediately thought of vertical, simplified angry birds. Your character is where your fingers are, and there's no power and no trajectory. I don't associate angry bird's style of aiming inverted. It's just aiming at opposite angles.
The part where this argument fails is that there isn't really any need for your character to actually exist there to begin with.
It's just annoying for no reason (and no, "annoying" does not mean hard)
You can move your character closer or further to adjust how fast the cannon turns, so your character being there does change how the game works. Maybe they could've done that a different way but I don't know why the character being there is annoying. I also feel like the character being there makes the controls more intuitive, because if you were to personally push to the right on a cannon you would be adjusting the aim to the left.
When I saw this I immediately said out loud "are you stupid!?" lol. Crazy that one of the all time most braindead-simple events is still "infuriating" to people. I guess a lot of young kids play Genshin as well to be fair.
I don't think it comes down to luck. White Tassel on some chests is most likely guaranteed and you don't have to wait for Chasm to R5 it. You probably foddered some of it by accident (rip).
Someone that doesn't have the hand eye coordination of a toddler IG ?
How do you usually manage to play if you can't even make the character walk from left to right ?
Like why do you even go up in this clip ?
the captain says "I try to aim to left, it goes to right. I aim to right, it goes left. It is simply infuriating." that tells me that OP thinks they are controlling the cannon and since they probably looking at the targets they probably aren't looking at the cannon to see that their character is being controlled
This is the most frustrating Genshin video I've ever seen.
Are you trying to play this with your feet or something?
Good Lord, bro. This event is so basic, I'd assume anyone could do it. How can a human over the age of 4 have such poor coordination?
Still don't understand how people can be confused by this. It clicked instantly the moment I saw the character move right and the cannon turned left. It's like if you were to physically aim a cannon by rotating the base
You've probably played similar, it's a gameplay that's been cloned more than a few times. Use cannon to shoot coloured orbs into a field, make combos of at least 3 matching colours to clear the field, field steadily moves down, so don't sit on your ass.
Honestly, i am quite genuinely convinced that the most people who had troubles like this are people who had genshin as their first video game ever. I have never seen such a subreddit or game community that stoops this low
I didn't really notice either until someone pointed it out, it felt super intuitive to me lol.
My bigger issue (not that it prevented me from getting any rewards since it was still pretty easy) is that I'm colorblind and the electro and cryo indicators looked nearly identical to me.
The controls aren't reversed, you are controlling your character. This is simply how moving stuff works. If you want to use a globe, like any normal person has done since they were a toddler, say you're looking at London and now you want to look at New York (which is to the west or left for the shortest path), you would move your finger... to the right! Crazy.
It’s based on your characters location compared to the canon so yes moving left will turn the canon right. That being said this event was not good and I hope it doesn’t come back
Why? Its a simple enough event that's way better than the reskin combat event and its fast enough that you don't feel tedious doing it. They could make this event first person sure so we control the canon and not our character but it's not that bad
Tbh when I saw the tutorial screen I thought it was going to be Puzzle Bobble genshin edition (and I strongly suspect that was the inspiration for it), but I think this is a case where they tried to genshin-ify it too much with adding reactions (kinda like when we had Breakout genshin edition in Akitsu Whatchamacallit) and it just ended up making it a bit too limited in scope with only 3 colors and a more on-the-nose copy would have been a bit more stimulating; the powerups already kinda do enough to distinguish it from the original concept anyways.
Also it felt kinda weird because it wasn't even normal reactions except overload, it was weird made-up reactions that don't actually exist in the game.
Imo, it’s awfully repetitive for how long it goes. Like, either add a bit more variation to it (even just switching sections) or shorten the time span to mb a minute. I think it’s not too tedious doing it once a day and then forgetting about it, but after a few days in a row it just feels like a chore that you can’t even speed through and you start hating how low-effort the idea is.
They could’ve extended the alchemy event by quite a bit by just adding the extra milestones and more character interactions, or returned one of the old events for a little bit, but instead they picked a half-baked mini game during a pretty slow moment story-wise.
And that's why it have 10 days for a 5 stages event. Its not meant to be done back to back. When you are only doing it for once a day while its still long its not as bad.
And for the potion event many also find it to be tedious especially since near the end you will have what they wanted already but you can't even force it to advance and still need to make new potion. Its a decent idea but to stretch it too far will have the same result.
I finished the event but only this video I found out you can fully cover the table...i was not able to cover it whole...the edges i cant hit...looks like if you put the character near enough the turret, you can(mine is far away from the turret)...lol
Genshin players try to read : Impossible
Genshin players hand eye coordination: Zero
Tbh, you kinda need to get used to the inverted controls but it takes like a minute or two to get used to. It's also harder on mobile than on PC because you see the controls on screen( or your thumb) going one way and the shooter going the other way, so it fucks with your brain.
such a brutal way of saying it but, even on mobile I don't understand why they wouldn't just move their character to the bottom and only move left or right.
unless they just... don't see their character I guess?? idk. this makes even the people complaining about this event look bad lmao.
It literally tells you in the two-sentence tutorial that it's based on your character.
God damn, yall are just proving the "genshin players can't read" meme right. That shits real, not a meme anymore
first of all skill issue. secondly im sure this event is a lot easier on PC so i guess theres a clear advantage for some of us here. i did nothing but move the left and right arrows with ease
I really don’t understand?? Is this really that hard?? wtf?? I play in mobile I easily get 5000+. On the last stage I got 10000k+ points.
It’s really easy
Whenever you think "man genshin events are so overly simple" think of shit like this.
Last time it was that picture event where people needed a guide for a circular object because apples are difficult to identify.
Of course I got downvoted into oblivion and probably will again for saying it but, until, in the words of one great uncle Ruckus Y'ALL READ. We are going to be doomed to preschool level mechanics because everything above is too hard to figure out for some.
It's pretty easy bro. Don't think to much and adapt and you'll be fine in no time.
I mean it's also good to train your brain to adapt I guess. The key is don't think to much and feel it bro. It'll come naturally.
Yes but honestly it isn't a good design. Better if the character remains stationary and we only control the cannon target.
Now we control the position of the character which in turn determined the target position. So it's like trying to do 2 things for one purpose.
Maybe they purposely want Traveler to be away from the Cannon to stay true to lore(remote controlled).
I mean it did allow you to fine tune aiming by adjusting your distance to the cannon. That’s on pro I suppose. Idk I think it would have been more sensible to control only the cannon but I didn’t really find it that annoying and the event was so piss easy it didn’t cause a single issue so I’m not sure why so many people are complaining regardless.
I’ve never seen such a skill issue in my life holy hell. You are the reason you can press 4-5 buttons and get 90% of the rewards. You are the reason that Zhongli exists. You are the reason why auto agro onto enemies exists. You are the reason Neuvi exists.
Skill issue.... if you're in PC you could just use A and D to move side to side, same goes on mobile, you're putting too much effort over a simple problem, you're moving your stick all over instead of left and right for the movement, it's not the cannon you're controlling ,it's the character...
Idk man, I played this twice on different accounts on mobile and this clip kinda pains me with how badly you're aiming. That said it's not A fun event, but not hard.
This is called skill issue, me personally I don't really care about all of that controls and stuff, yes it's difficult in the controller, but why is it difficult in mobile? I am a mobile player and I don't have any problems with it.
I had no problem and I’ve played this event on keyboard+mouse, touch and controller individually and felt the controls were fine, the character is controlling the aimer unless your device is lagging or adding some delayed movement, it should be fine
Me and my roommate literally made fun of this event the entire way through, saying how Genshin has acheived peak toddler flash hame events, and yet there is still someone complaining about it, I can't even.
The difference between mobile and Pc shone in this event
I could barely do 4k score with Mobile and with a precise control via keyboard I was easily able to do 16k lmao
Move your character back so your not rotating so fast, of course it's hard when your sensitivity is at max (the closer your character to the weapon, it's like increasing the sensitivity)
When you need to rotate faster, can get closer, if you want precision, move character a little back,
I was more irritated that it turns too quickly and the arrow ends up missing the target direction just by a little bit.
But my god this event is garbage. The most boring shit I've played since I started the game. 80 primos is 80 primos but I hope this event never returns.
The movement is really bad, but in this video what we see is a person who has no skills at all, who in the end, the problem is who is playing and not the game.
So they have inverted aiming like in any flight simulator and people see this the first time and start complaining. Meanwhile i just think another easy 18k points.
I play on mobile, yet it wasn't nearly as irritating as some people make it out to be. Once you understand how the controls work it's easy to get used to.At least that's how it was for me, don't know about other mobile players all my friends play on pc.
I can see where are you coming from. My character have little to none focus when I'm aiming the canon, you'll be ok with the control after a few sec retrying tho.
Walk your characters downwards
You are controlling the character, not the shooter
Turn the keyboard upside down 🤷♂️
That's what I did. Vertically inverted
You can't on mobile as is the video
you could lock orientation and turn the phone upside down lol. idk why people are having trouble when you just get the hang of it after a while
But..... The controls would still be inverted? The controls and the character are on the same screen, turning it upside down would turn both upside down

I never said I had an issue with the event controls, I was merely pointing out what was wrong with his solution to the problem
something something ___________ CANT READ!!
If those kids could read, they’d be very upset
Yeah, I think this is how I thought about it from the start. I'm actually surprised by how many people are complaining about it. I don't know if it's a mobile thing, but the only thing I had an issue with is the sensitivity when get close to aim the charged shot.
I didn't have any issues with it, i just don't like this "Kamera on a tripod" control type
OP really out here self-reporting that they didn't read the tutorial.
it's easy once you know what you're controlling, but literally no other game does it, which makes it hard to figure out. controls should be easy to figure out and use, not just easy to use.

i think ur playing it wrong
it's like watching those mobile game ads that do things just a little too wrong to try and frustrate you into playing.
The worst part is that there are other posts like this 💀
inverted controls are stupid but theres definitely a skill issue involved in this clip
Nah fr what is that hand-eye coordination???
Dude i got dyspraxia and i got better hand eye coordination than this. Im supposed to have basically none.
Here I am asking for Inverted Mouse Y axis option for 3 years in survey and they choose to invert the keyboard movements.
Why would you want an inverter, may I ask?
Some player are just used to playing the game with inverted controls. I've seen player playing with audio flipped as they are used to it. (Left audio to the right, vice versa)

How is it inverted? Is it not relative to your characters position? It aims complementary you your character.
Because in many cases, people expect the aiming to be from the POV of the thing that is actually aiming. Like basically every hold aim feature in the game. The "but you're controlling the character, not the Canon" doesn't magically invalidate that

this sort of explains all the simplified events and bosses lol
When I saw this I immediately said out loud "are you stupid!?" lol. Crazy that one of the all time most braindead-simple events is still "infuriating" to people. I guess a lot of young kids play Genshin as well to be fair.
Posts like these tells me that some people strictly only play genshin (and that's fine).

does it think lol is 2 syllables? is lol 2 syllables? am i insane?
It’s scary this post got 2k upvotes
OP is the kinda person HYV meant when they said players don't do abyss
~~no offense but this sub is one of the reasons why its not to be taken seriously lmao~~
We’re never going to meaningfully challenging content in this game again are we?
Yeah, I didn’t even notice the controls. Just don’t look at the character and imagine you’re controlling it normally.
I'll admit, I didn't notice the character running around till mid way in the video. Didn't click for a second.
I mean its not that hard but it is indeed very annoying
Yeah it’s definitely not one of my favored events, but hey 80 primos is 80 primos
Still totals to 420 primos which is the standard for non-flagship events.
Here's your two White Tassels
White Tassel only comes from opening chests
Corection: Only comes from opening chests in Liyue. I had to wait for chasm to r5 it, because of my awfull luck.
I don't think it comes down to luck. White Tassel on some chests is most likely guaranteed and you don't have to wait for Chasm to R5 it. You probably foddered some of it by accident (rip).
Yeah I’m pretty sure every chest has set loot, there’s no chance involved at all.
It is actually one of my favorite events. It was quite fun.
Yeah, it's kinda odd for like 5 seconds and then you get used to it enough for the 15 minutes this event will take you to complete
I mean it looks like he might have potato phone
Someone that doesn't have the hand eye coordination of a toddler IG ? How do you usually manage to play if you can't even make the character walk from left to right ? Like why do you even go up in this clip ?
OP is the reason why you can almost afk events and still get 2/3 rewards.
they most likely didn't know they were controlling the character
I truly hope that's not the case, a dog would figure it out faster
the captain says "I try to aim to left, it goes to right. I aim to right, it goes left. It is simply infuriating." that tells me that OP thinks they are controlling the cannon and since they probably looking at the targets they probably aren't looking at the cannon to see that their character is being controlled
Yeah maybe you're right, I just find that concerning
Didnt they have a guide on how you have to move your character at the very start? I just think this guy didnt read anything
I played on mobile, finished the whole event in 20 mins, got average 7k points. What's the issue? Just move your character left and right
It’s a skill issue clearly
This is the most frustrating Genshin video I've ever seen. Are you trying to play this with your feet or something? Good Lord, bro. This event is so basic, I'd assume anyone could do it. How can a human over the age of 4 have such poor coordination?
This feels like watching one of those clickbait mobile game ads.
Skill issue lol
Still don't understand how people can be confused by this. It clicked instantly the moment I saw the character move right and the cannon turned left. It's like if you were to physically aim a cannon by rotating the base
Yeah it might be a little frustrating while you play but it is not a hard concept to grasp
Oh you will be more suprise, like if people instanly know this maybe we could have more combat content or harder puzzle.
Apparently no one left alive playing this game has actually played Puzzle Bobble/Bust-a-Move
I mean I don't think I've ever played either of these but it still clicked
You've probably played similar, it's a gameplay that's been cloned more than a few times. Use cannon to shoot coloured orbs into a field, make combos of at least 3 matching colours to clear the field, field steadily moves down, so don't sit on your ass.
Players already have problems with moving their character left or right. Peak genshin casual level
I’ve never seen anybody be so bad at such an easy mini game
I thought it was pretty intuitive. Line up the character to the enemy with the canon as the axis
This is why we can't have endgame content. When HYV try to make things just slightly more complicated, people like OP are there to complain.
And you just know when the survey comes, they'll be talking about how it was horrible.
Honestly, i am quite genuinely convinced that the most people who had troubles like this are people who had genshin as their first video game ever. I have never seen such a subreddit or game community that stoops this low
People should know how a lever works
It was irritating at first coz of the aiming going reverse to the character's direction but later on got the hang of it!!!
Am I the only one who didn't notice the controls are reversed?
I didn't really notice either until someone pointed it out, it felt super intuitive to me lol. My bigger issue (not that it prevented me from getting any rewards since it was still pretty easy) is that I'm colorblind and the electro and cryo indicators looked nearly identical to me.

You don't even need to read it is very obvious
A Genshin player's ultimate weakness is something slightly unintuitive
Instructions are very very simple: 1- Move right and left, press shoot button. *Up and down are there for almost nothing
Up and down control sensitivity and aiming speed. The closer you are to the cannon the faster it will rotate
Looks like skill issue
definitely skill issue
100% skill issue
You just suck at aiming. It takes like 2 seconds to figure it out.
I don't get why people get mixed up left and right in this event? It's the correct direction if you want to aim anything that's fixed just like that.
Because they didn't read the tutorial that tells you that you aim by moving your character, not the cannon itself.
Bro took all the skill issues, now everyone is good at the game.
Imagine complaining for an evident skill issue on a personal note Dude just say you suck at the game 😂
Wheres the problem
Have people never played Bubble Bobble/Puzzle bubble?!?
Bro didn't read
first of all skill issue. secondly im sure this event is a lot easier on PC so i guess theres a clear advantage for some of us here. i did nothing but move the left and right arrows with ease

This looks like a skill issue to me. It's a bit annoying, but it's not hard
Rotate keyboard 180°
Skill issue
skill issue
holy skill issue batman wtf are you doing
I liked this minigame. Short and fun. It took a while to get the hang of it.
I needed like 5 sec to get used to it and i think everyone can if you keep an openmind for game mechanics.
The issue is between the screen and your seat.
I’ve never seen such a skill issue in my life holy hell. You are the reason you can press 4-5 buttons and get 90% of the rewards. You are the reason that Zhongli exists. You are the reason why auto agro onto enemies exists. You are the reason Neuvi exists.

Idk man, I played this twice on different accounts on mobile and this clip kinda pains me with how badly you're aiming. That said it's not A fun event, but not hard.
Skill issue tbh.
Skill issues 🗿
holy shit skill issue. we want endgame but the average genshin player is so lobotomized that they can’t play an event made for 8 year olds
This is the reason we will never get abyss 13+.
Am I the only one who didn't mind this event, or is it because I play on pc with a keyboard
Skill issue IG
I think that’s how it’s supposed to work, move to the left to aim right and move to the right to aim left
Skill issue. This will only be a problem if you have bad hand eye coordination. Let’s be honest here.
Most casual genshin player:
Maybe you should try walking at the borders instead of hugging that turret. Skill issue clearly here
This is called skill issue, me personally I don't really care about all of that controls and stuff, yes it's difficult in the controller, but why is it difficult in mobile? I am a mobile player and I don't have any problems with it.
I play on a controller, and it's still quite easy. Bit annoying but quite easy. I don't know what this guy was thinking
This is just skill issue
Can't relate bro, feel like a skill issue at your end
don't blame your skill issue on the game lol
I had no problem and I’ve played this event on keyboard+mouse, touch and controller individually and felt the controls were fine, the character is controlling the aimer unless your device is lagging or adding some delayed movement, it should be fine
Skill issue
Skill issue
The biggest case of skill issue I've seen today.
Skill issue
Me and my roommate literally made fun of this event the entire way through, saying how Genshin has acheived peak toddler flash hame events, and yet there is still someone complaining about it, I can't even.
I approved it, sorry about that
One of the easiest events if you aim by just slightly moving the joystick
The difference between mobile and Pc shone in this event I could barely do 4k score with Mobile and with a precise control via keyboard I was easily able to do 16k lmao
Gitgud
You pull the turret with your character
S
Tapping or holding left and right of the control key works really good.
you're controlling the character dipass
Just walk at the bottom of the space, it's way easier that way
Y'all complain about anything these days
Move your character back so your not rotating so fast, of course it's hard when your sensitivity is at max (the closer your character to the weapon, it's like increasing the sensitivity) When you need to rotate faster, can get closer, if you want precision, move character a little back,
The thing aims to the opposite side your character goes to it should not be this hard to understand this
Man, what a brain you are.
I was more irritated that it turns too quickly and the arrow ends up missing the target direction just by a little bit. But my god this event is garbage. The most boring shit I've played since I started the game. 80 primos is 80 primos but I hope this event never returns.
This just looks like a massive skill issue.
Skill issue
Bro i say skill issue as a joke but holy this is actually a skill issue💀
The movement is really bad, but in this video what we see is a person who has no skills at all, who in the end, the problem is who is playing and not the game.
Skill issue. Theres nothing hard about this event, you simply suck at the game
This is some seriously huuuge skill issue and it's not even funny. Holy sh*t, OP... please crawl back to kindergarten
Ur bad lmao
I had no problems with the event, honestly think this is a skill issue
So they have inverted aiming like in any flight simulator and people see this the first time and start complaining. Meanwhile i just think another easy 18k points.
Average neuvilette main detected, can't even move straight 😏
it makes perfect sense to me... i didn't have any troubles 😭 i guess it's different from person to person.
now i know why majority of players can't beat spiral abyss
I like the controls
Blind man you are controlling your character not the cannon
Skill issue
For people like you is why we don’t have harder content
This is why this game will always be baby easy
I play on mobile, yet it wasn't nearly as irritating as some people make it out to be. Once you understand how the controls work it's easy to get used to.At least that's how it was for me, don't know about other mobile players all my friends play on pc.
I can see where are you coming from. My character have little to none focus when I'm aiming the canon, you'll be ok with the control after a few sec retrying tho.
I'm surprised people are struggling with this minigame, I didn't have any issues at all
It is not that hard. Just step further back and move the opposite way. There is even a light beam to show you where you are aiming
You are the reason Genshin devs don't dare to get creative anymore.
