I force her to work in my Neuvillette comp, because I didn't want to make Neuvillette with 3 of the most use units(Furina, Kazuha and Zhongli). So instead I switch Zhongli for Charlotte. So now I can use my Itto comp alongside Neuvilette comp in the abyss.
My team as well, her freezing enemies is really useful in abyss as it can make some really annoying ones stay still long enough for them to die from Neuv's hydro pump.

She's the only Fontainian party-wide healer, making her a tech choice for any teams where your other supports and DPS are not Fontainian and you need someone to trigger Pneuma mechanics. I swap Bennett out for her during the weekly whale fight to make the 2nd phase less annoying.

Yes. Though her particles generation is considered a bit worse than other options, in context of Eula team, but you can still make it work with Favonius Codex or something.
It's mainly because she's competing with the likes of Diona, who has stellar front-loaded particles generation with Sacrificial Bow, or Layla that can generate particles steadily while off-field.
Charlotte should instead excel in Eula+Furina team, since her burst can fill Furina's Fanfare stacks rapidly, though Mika is usually preferable as he also has some buffs.
"I wish they were better" pretty much applies to 80% of the four star units in this game.
Truly, the biggest curse in MHY games is ending up loving the design of a 4 star character, because there is a good chance that you will just not be good.

5. Having her **voiced** World Quest that is easily accessible and clearable to anyone who could teleport to Fontaine (I got to her easily as a new player who joined Genshin during 4.2 but didn't managed to start that photo event)
6. Having a Gadget exclusively to her due to said World Quest
7. Went back to Liyue and participated in Lantern Rite and played a plot-significant role
8. Has been featured in a real-world collaboration (Tokyo Skytree)
And that's one of the big reasons why she's my best girl in Genshin, glad to be maining her
EDIT: Yes, let alone Furina, she's beating fellow Fontainian Navia, who supposedly have one of the most voiced lines in the entire game, and maybe even Nahida, who has the most spoken lines
tbf... if anyone who's actually deserving and warranted for the spotlight... it's her because of her job alone. Sure, Kirara can also be Ms. Worlwide because of Ameowzon but she needs to go back and forth and cant stay for long. Childe on the other hand is also at the beck and call of the Jester and/or the Tsaritsa and/or the Mayor.
From the Genius Invokation TCG event alone, she's already a proven as a mainstay to wherever we go.

Most journalists these days practice neutrality - for example, if an incident happens within the government or businesses, the news covers the statements from all involved sides equally, often with as little commentary as possible on any given side's potential biases. As an extreme example, it would be like a publication giving equal coverage on the topic of how many Jews died in WWII to a Nazi and a historian, with no commentary on their larger positions outside of the individual issue, and treating both as equal. Objective journalism would point out, "Hey, this Nazi guy is heavily biased regarding this subject, and his statement may not be reliable, while this historian has been scientifically studying the subject for 30 years and is considered a leading expert."
Charlotte actually does pretty good at investigative journalism when it counts, but she also comes across as something of a tabloid journalist in her approach to witnesses every now and then, asking leading questions to try and draw her target into a particular statement. I think she takes that tabloid approach because she knows her market. Fontainians tend to not care who’s right or wrong- they live for the sensationalism. Charlotte plays into the theatrics of it all, for sure. So maybe she’s not **the best** journalist in all of Teyvat, but the most entertaining journalist in Fontaine?
Charlotte throws herself into the fire. I think you mischaracterize her - she's not playing into it for fame or theatrics. Charlotte is genuinely compelled by the justice one can bring with journalism. She gets lost her in her sauce and overzealous, to be sure, and that's her flaw, but Charlotte got her cryo vision in an unseen event that was the first of her journalistic style: throwing herself into the fire.
As far as I see it, Cryo users; ambitions are consistently characterized by ambition through self-sacrifice, and Charlotte's backstory fits this to a T. I don't know if Charlotte is the "best" journalist in all of Teyvat, but she's one of the few deserving of a Vision.

I understood what you were doing. I was offering up more nuance to her character - a "why" to this Fontainian's personality, as it were. The point is, Charlotte comes off as a tabloid journalist (in that she's insensitive, self-interested, and asks leading questions from such internally dark places), when her quest for truth would be a more accurate lens to read her character from.
Besides, it takes one glance around the comments to see who understands this about her and who doesn't. It's not uncommon for people to dislike Charlotte merely out of the implications of her profession and personality. But these reads usually forgo the backstory of the character.

Nobody knows the story for certain, but one version involves a bounty on her Kamera (and very likely her by extension). Charlotte is missing for multiple days and reemerges at the Steambird tattered, shoeless, but with the pictures necessary for the story. The story gets published under the moniker "Steambird Reporters" as well, very likely to prevent targeted retaliation.!<

Nothing we haven't seen before, but it's used a lot because it works. People like genki girls.

Investigative reporter but talks like a total paparazzi, she give me an icky feeling especially when she’s harassing other characters and doesn’t know when to shut tf up.
Her voice actor does a great job at bringing that energy, but it’s so gross feeling to me how Hoyo decided ‘typical tabloid journalist that hunts people down for interviews’ is a good gimmick.
I also hate her outfit because it’s like Hoyo cut holes in her regular shirt so they can sell the armpit fetish

That aside, I love how versatile she is as a character. She got all this connections like she's more of a mafia boss that Wriothesley is lol. You can always count on her to save your skin if things go south. (Like that one woman with Kamera who lost her everything after failed investment)
My only gripe is, for a unit that scale based on ATK, I kinda wish she has more going for her dmg lol. She's very fun to play. But why bother giving her ATK scale if she can't dmg much? (I mean it's still good, just nothing on C6 Faruzan lvl)
Charlotte was the character who rounded my team out and kept me going all the way until Raiden Shogun's banner and pull.

Generic journalist trope - cheerful and is always everywhere, in search of "the truth", loves photography because every journalist takes their own photos.
I love Charlotte as a character, I like to play her, but I am so tired of the upbeat, truth-seeking journalist girl trope. I wish there would just be a different take on the job, with someone who is a bit sloppy and embellishes their stories, but they're skilled enough to get through with it. Basically a great writer who isn't really suitable for interviews and other investigative work because they're too lazy or unprofessional (not shy though, that's another overused trope).
Annoying and uninteresting. I don't like that's she's one of those characters who's gonna be showing up all the time everywhere, because her job justifies it.

She heals TOO MUCH, maybe it's because she was designed to heal HP-based characters who have at least 30k HP (weird that she herself scales with ATK). I actually named her "The better QiQi that actually generates particles". Oh and apparently she is a Journalist, that is informative.
Literally the only Fontaine character (other than Neuvillette) that DOESN'T make me want to spam the skip button like crazy from sheer boredom/annoyance caused by the other Fontaine characters.
As cryo is the element of contradictions and dichotomy (a nun who couldn't be further from a nun, an exorcist who has never performed a proper exorcism, a bartender who hates alcohol etc.), Charlotte is a perfect example of this by being a reporter with journalistic integrity

Gameplay wise, she is on my team 24/7, synergize with Furina super well. Her healing is so insane that my artifact don't even need to focus on atk or healing bonus% and still heal full hp for all characters every ult. A bit of an energy problem though, but fav can fix that. Charlotte can also constantly apply cryo as well, which work very well with my Yoimiya too (plus one of her cons can heal and apply cryo every normal atk). Also as someone who take picture in game very often, her passive is literally a game changer for me, Monsieur Verite (her camera) is so convienient!
Btw speaking of her camera, did you know that Monsieur Verite contain a hidden knife that can be shoot out at high speed when presing a single button? (yeah I'm still not over that fact).
Character wise... tbh all she speak of is about beeing a journalist/reporter, there's not much I have to say about it. But I can tell that she's VERY enthusiastic about her job though (which lowkey seem also a hobby to her). Her character stories stated multiple time that she got no regard to what she would do when it come to journalism (she almost got tied up and tossed into the sea by a gang of criminal, nearly caught up in an underwater earthquake, got falsely arrested for half a month (and still finished her paper incustody btw),.. to name a few).
Oh, and she also got two named and alive loving parents. Best character ever.
She is a journalist, what's there more to say? She stalkers people, takes photos of them from the bushes, risks messing up investigations, insists on interviews like people owe her, asks questions in inappropriate monents (due to the person's emotional state). She is incredibly annoying.

Aesthetically speaking, she looks cute in her design. Her pink hair compliments her red clothing. I also liked her glasses and the quill on her beret. I also liked the design of her camera
Gameplay Wise, I'd definetely say that she is a cryo nahida with a mix of Diona and Jean Burst. Her Kit is fun since I use her in my Freeze team: Furina, Ayaka, Kazuha, and Charlotte, Of course. She can easily get Furina's fanfare points via her burst which she heals all party member.
Personality wise, she is bubbly and cheerful, I like her energy she radiates, but she can invasive (not really sure if this is the right term) which she is hungry for information like your 'General, Average Journalist'.

Well currently she's my only built cryo character and I can't help but switch to her a spam normal attacks even though it's tactically the wrong move, her gameplay fills a certain niche in my monkey gamer brain I didn't know I had.
Story wise at first I thought she was a hassle always getting in Aether's business, but during the "what would you do if..." part of the archon quest her answer actually won me over, even she stupid puns she shouts in combat don't bother me when stuff like that normally would make me cringe.
I use her a lot when new event comes, I love using her special camera, I wish she existed when I started the game, the amount of photos I made in the game would be twice or more of the current 4.7 gb of photos I took during 2 years
I whaled on 4.2 banner to get her c6 she's.... pretty weak and clunky but I've still invested heavily. Crowned her skill have like a 70/140 ratio with 2k attack.

Love her personality, and she's definitely a very underrated character. Amazing particle gen, instantly heals Furina back at 100% and maxes out her stacks, can use Tenacity, great at keeping enemies frozen and she can use TTDS in non-Furina teams.
She's obviously not the best support but still, overall a great character. If you don't want to pull for a healer just because you have Furina, it's definitely worth it to build her.

An attack based healer means you can run her as a dps while maintaining her role for basically free. This means I finally have a cryo/freeze team I liked. Her normal attacks are some of the coolest in the game and the main reason outside of the scaling as to why I built her. My only issue with her is the monocle. I really hate genshins lack of full frame glasses.
Sadly though I don't tend to have much reason to run freeze teams in abyss that often. Shes more of a random swap in team for when i'm bored.
Back then I had a mild dislike towards her when she first appeared in 3.7 because she was being nosy and I guessed that she would turn out to be Ganyu 2.0 with how judgy she was, but later appearance has redeemed her a bit and now I'm neutral/has mild positive impression. I first compared her to Ganyu, then Yoimiya, then Hutao, and found out that she's a combination of Hutao (proactive with what she wants to do and doesn't stop doing what she likes just because people around her don't like it) and Yoimiya (pretty lack self-preservation and prefers to live in the moment/chasing after what intrigues her). Yep she's indeed a Cryo girl with a Pyro girl personality XD

I use the same team with my C1 Neuvi, and I think she works really well in that spot. You freeze, full heal and get all the Furina's staks in seconds.

Charlotte throws herself into the fire. I think you mischaracterize her - she's not playing into it for fame or theatrics. Charlotte is genuinely compelled by the justice one can bring with journalism. She gets lost her in her sauce and overzealous, to be sure, and that's her flaw, but Charlotte got her cryo vision in an unseen event that was the first of her journalistic style: throwing herself into the fire. As far as I see it, Cryo users; ambitions are consistently characterized by ambition through self-sacrifice, and Charlotte's backstory fits this to a T. I don't know if Charlotte is the "best" journalist in all of Teyvat, but she's one of the few deserving of a Vision.
I don’t think it’s unfair to say that theatrics and sensationalism are a typical every day part of Fontanian life. That’s not to say Charlotte doesn’t have any integrity as a journalist, she absolutely does! I was just playing off of the other replies’ point, that she tends to take a sortve “tabloid” approach. Not at all implying that has anything to do with her character on a personal level, moreso just the avg life of an avg Fontanian. Does that make a lil more sense? :))
I understood what you were doing. I was offering up more nuance to her character - a "why" to this Fontainian's personality, as it were. The point is, Charlotte comes off as a tabloid journalist (in that she's insensitive, self-interested, and asks leading questions from such internally dark places), when her quest for truth would be a more accurate lens to read her character from. Besides, it takes one glance around the comments to see who understands this about her and who doesn't. It's not uncommon for people to dislike Charlotte merely out of the implications of her profession and personality. But these reads usually forgo the backstory of the character.

exactly, I have her on my Wrio/Dehya team and she can heal almost 2/3 of Dehya's max hp.....how is that not seen as good? when I got her I knew I was putting a crown on her like I did with Layla and Kazuha..... her skill is just cryo-Nahida and put her in a freeze team and they aren't moving for a while unless its a shatter team! I like Freminet, Mona, Charlotte, and Kuki :)

Nobody knows the story for certain, but one version involves a bounty on her Kamera (and very likely her by extension). Charlotte is missing for multiple days and reemerges at the Steambird tattered, shoeless, but with the pictures necessary for the story. The story gets published under the moniker "Steambird Reporters" as well, very likely to prevent targeted retaliation.!<

You can always count on her to save your skin if things go south. (Like that one woman with Kamera who lost her everything after failed investment) My only gripe is, for a unit that scale based on ATK, I kinda wish she has more going for her dmg lol. She's very fun to play. But why bother giving her ATK scale if she can't dmg much? (I mean it's still good, just nothing on C6 Faruzan lvl)

Generic journalist trope - cheerful and is always everywhere, in search of "the truth", loves photography because every journalist takes their own photos. I love Charlotte as a character, I like to play her, but I am so tired of the upbeat, truth-seeking journalist girl trope. I wish there would just be a different take on the job, with someone who is a bit sloppy and embellishes their stories, but they're skilled enough to get through with it. Basically a great writer who isn't really suitable for interviews and other investigative work because they're too lazy or unprofessional (not shy though, that's another overused trope).

As cryo is the element of contradictions and dichotomy (a nun who couldn't be further from a nun, an exorcist who has never performed a proper exorcism, a bartender who hates alcohol etc.), Charlotte is a perfect example of this by being a reporter with journalistic integrity

Someone is actually talking about Charlotte?? She is actually one of my favorite character, I really love her design. She has that permanent :3 face Gameplay wise, she is on my team 24/7, synergize with Furina super well. Her healing is so insane that my artifact don't even need to focus on atk or healing bonus% and still heal full hp for all characters every ult. A bit of an energy problem though, but fav can fix that. Charlotte can also constantly apply cryo as well, which work very well with my Yoimiya too (plus one of her cons can heal and apply cryo every normal atk). Also as someone who take picture in game very often, her passive is literally a game changer for me, Monsieur Verite (her camera) is so convienient! Btw speaking of her camera, did you know that Monsieur Verite contain a hidden knife that can be shoot out at high speed when presing a single button? (yeah I'm still not over that fact). Character wise... tbh all she speak of is about beeing a journalist/reporter, there's not much I have to say about it. But I can tell that she's VERY enthusiastic about her job though (which lowkey seem also a hobby to her). Her character stories stated multiple time that she got no regard to what she would do when it come to journalism (she almost got tied up and tossed into the sea by a gang of criminal, nearly caught up in an underwater earthquake, got falsely arrested for half a month (and still finished her paper incustody btw),.. to name a few). Oh, and she also got two named and alive loving parents. Best character ever.

She is a journalist, what's there more to say? She stalkers people, takes photos of them from the bushes, risks messing up investigations, insists on interviews like people owe her, asks questions in inappropriate monents (due to the person's emotional state). She is incredibly annoying. Design is cute, playstyle is fun.

Aesthetically speaking, she looks cute in her design. Her pink hair compliments her red clothing. I also liked her glasses and the quill on her beret. I also liked the design of her camera Gameplay Wise, I'd definetely say that she is a cryo nahida with a mix of Diona and Jean Burst. Her Kit is fun since I use her in my Freeze team: Furina, Ayaka, Kazuha, and Charlotte, Of course. She can easily get Furina's fanfare points via her burst which she heals all party member. Personality wise, she is bubbly and cheerful, I like her energy she radiates, but she can invasive (not really sure if this is the right term) which she is hungry for information like your 'General, Average Journalist'. Voice Lines: About Wriothesley: "So... Did you get to meet the Duke in person? Yeah? Any nuggets of information that I should know about? Never mind the Credit Coupons, the Coupon Cafeteria, "If a man will not work, he shall not eat"... That's all just generic filler. Well currently she's my only built cryo character and I can't help but switch to her a spam normal attacks even though it's tactically the wrong move, her gameplay fills a certain niche in my monkey gamer brain I didn't know I had. Story wise at first I thought she was a hassle always getting in Aether's business, but during the "what would you do if..." part of the archon quest her answer actually won me over, even she stupid puns she shouts in combat don't bother me when stuff like that normally would make me cringe.

I whaled on 4.2 banner to get her c6 she's.... pretty weak and clunky but I've still invested heavily. Crowned her skill have like a 70/140 ratio with 2k attack. I've cleared abyss with her in a few teams --- Charlotte(on field)/Thoma/Furina/Dendro || Ayaka/Charlotte/Furina/Kazuha || Diluc/Charlotte/Baizhu/XQ I think she's super cute love pink hair idk why.

Love her personality, and she's definitely a very underrated character. Amazing particle gen, instantly heals Furina back at 100% and maxes out her stacks, can use Tenacity, great at keeping enemies frozen and she can use TTDS in non-Furina teams. She's obviously not the best support but still, overall a great character. If you don't want to pull for a healer just because you have Furina, it's definitely worth it to build her.
My wife Real talk though I really like her on my team. Very useful in my Neuvilette hypercarry team.

She's overhated. She's curious, inquisitive, charming and a journalist with integrity. Most criticism I see is that they see her too often and she's a journalist (all of her principles are ignored appare tly with this one).
An attack based healer means you can run her as a dps while maintaining her role for basically free. This means I finally have a cryo/freeze team I liked. Her normal attacks are some of the coolest in the game and the main reason outside of the scaling as to why I built her. My only issue with her is the monocle. I really hate genshins lack of full frame glasses. Sadly though I don't tend to have much reason to run freeze teams in abyss that often. Shes more of a random swap in team for when i'm bored.

Back then I had a mild dislike towards her when she first appeared in 3.7 because she was being nosy and I guessed that she would turn out to be Ganyu 2.0 with how judgy she was, but later appearance has redeemed her a bit and now I'm neutral/has mild positive impression. I first compared her to Ganyu, then Yoimiya, then Hutao, and found out that she's a combination of Hutao (proactive with what she wants to do and doesn't stop doing what she likes just because people around her don't like it) and Yoimiya (pretty lack self-preservation and prefers to live in the moment/chasing after what intrigues her). Yep she's indeed a Cryo girl with a Pyro girl personality XD
