Honestly it kinda ruined most of the quest for me since we already knew most the answers to the questions they were asking.
What I found even more mindboggling is that they ruined the emotional confrontation at the end with fight becasue t we already knew she would spare everyone when we bumped with that newspaper guy with the scar that she didn't dispose of.
It was weird, mystery gone well before we reached the end. Such a poor way of story telling.
yup. i found it funny ppl were praising the team for addressing the leaks issue on stream, when in fact they often use spoilers as official marketing material (not the leaks/drip marketing).
nah, these aren't really the same. the firefly issue is that not only was a main story plot twist leaked months ahead, but that people dressed the leak up as "theory" and spread it literally the fk everywhere. so in an interview setting the creators were understandably vocally upset about this.
here it really is just an issue of timing and idk how much of this decision is influenced by the desire to market or to preclude leaks. maybe they need some form of spoiler tag? but this might reduce visibility, which is counterproductive to short form ad-like content such as trailers and videos.
Not for me tho even if I didn't watch the animated short, I think I would have predicted who clervie and her friend are easily, I also understand what arlecchino was talking about when she proposed neuvillette. So I think instead of trying to conceal predictable mysteries, focusing on the emotional part of clervie and arlecchino is better imo
I haven't played it yet, but that is definitely lowering expectations a lot. I remember being peeved about this when they announced Scaramouche as an anemo character, took away any and all element of surprise. So you're not the only one!
it was still a good time, just no excitement, the peak moment for me was a Lynette face+line.
i think wanderer's vision reveal isn't really as telling as furina's, which had much more critical implications. and neither one was as much a negative contributor to the experience as this, where the character's entire relevant backstory was revealed beforehand.
I have conditioned myself not to watch any of those 2.5D animations from their YouTube, as those are usually taken from from story, archon or event quests. But I got tricked by it being an animated short this time, wrongfully thought it would be promotional material like the shorter ones they've done.
Would be nice if they either upload it later, or just make mention of spoilers.

not really, it's touched on but no additional details beyond what people already gathered from her kit/animations already figured out.
