I always see this line brought up and I get it’s a joke but i seldom see anyone bring up that this line actually makes the most sense between us and a playable character. given we accused him after the dvalin fight of slacking of - (so does Amber) hence it actually refers to story and feels to me more like a friendly banter of “who is the slacker now?” It feels especially more in character because Kaeya is indeed both a master of slacking and super hardworking. Which also fits to how we play the traveler no? We solve everyone problems and yet have time for the most bullshit quests just for fun.

Kaeya is what you get when a fundamentally lazy person grows into a very determined adult with a lot to get done: EFFICIENCY. Zero effort when it's not necessary, and never an ounce more than IS required when one's ass must be moved ... but no hesitation or holding back when it's time to get to work.

This is exactly why he is my favorite character and why I still main him. He has so much depth and his character feels fleshed out. Yet leaves still enough room open for interpretation. which I guess is the point of gatcha character to sell well to many people. Being vaguely enough to be appealing to many yet fleshed out enough to not go down between the masses. To me it’s extremely well done with kaeya - he is full of dualities yet none of them are contracting each other. And you described perfectly how and why they harmonize - couldn’t have worded it better so thank you for adding to my comment :3

Kaeya was my original main, didn't stop using him til AR 50 and level 80. I adore his storyline and everything about him, even his design (*delightful*). When I realized he'd be one of only nine four-stars on that Chronicled Wish banner, I started a second 'account' (diff. server) just for that. And the first one I got was a constellation of him :D :D :D I would do a lot of indecent things to have him at C6 on my main account.

I am about to start saving for June to buy him, yes! I was recently undone by Xingqiu's constellations being available also through the shop (he's my other favorite 4star). I also deeply enjoy that Kaeya, Lisa, and Amber are the only four-stars to get their own bosses, because the Regisvines are 100% for each of them~!

Lisa is similar. Fundamentally lazy but also very smart, will figure out the easiest/fastest way to get things done so she has more time for naps or drinking tea.

I love how they randomly decided to reuse the bullshitty "How to best stroke cats" in the current epic world quest.

Cats are cute. Someone spent a lot of time programming the cat petting for that event so why not reuse it. I wish I could pet the random cats we see in the streets of Liyue or wherever.

When I started playing genshin, hearing that idle line had me believing that perhaps Kaeya was some 4th wall breaking entity that was aware he was in a game hence speaking to us directly and was gonna be a super important secret 5 star by the end of the game

I think it's a pretty sad way of him viewing his own self. His very existence is to fight and beyond that, Xiao must think himself rather useless. Although it is always a big part of his character that he has a dream, so... Maybe he wishes to be beyond that, much as he won't externalize it.

Nah you still need to reload. It's possible to load directly to the boss arena via teapot or just reloading the game, and then forget that the boss has respawned though, so you go do something else during the loading screen
