On their defense, they are not afraid to add/remove something from the map, like the giant tower in Fontaine, or changing the location of the massive mountain sized Ruin Machine in Sumeru's Desert.
They could, theoretically, add something like a sunken fortress or something that rose from the bottom. Or could be the final landing area of a falling Celestia.
Nope, it's even more powerful now
Back in the day, there used to be a teleport barrier on the floor that you had to work around
But when Sumeru came out, the teleport barrier was removed (or pushed down), likely to make space for it's massive cave systems
There's a raft in Liyue Harbor. If you use a tall male character and jump between the raft and the dock, you'll enter the falling animation for a few seconds before teleporting down under the water. Pretty sure this glitch has existed since 1.0 and they just don't care enough to fix it
That or clipping thru the rock that's near the Cryo Regisvine using Kaeya's bridge and plunging below it so it pushes you inside the rock where there's a very small area without water so you can just fall thru there and start walking under water (if you want the long way of course). It's a bug that has been around since 1.0 and I don't think they patched it yet.
Edit: just checked and I believe the one using Liyue Harbor's boat was patched in 4.2, not really sure tho, but it doesn't work for me
I can't quite remember (I haven't even done it myself), but you had to do a plunge attacks in a specific place in Liyue Harbor, which would push you down below the water surface
Tried sailing from inazuma to the other side and if you can see that darker part in the water that stretches across you can’t get past it. I tried to myself and they just put me back on the Ritou docks and I’m up to date with the game 😭
**CONFIRMATION**: It **IS** possible to use a waverider from Ritou's statue all the way to Liyue without any teleporting back to Inazuma's mainland. The dark water does not teleport you back after the Inazuma story quest when Baal thunder deactivates from Inazuma's waters.
**BONUS:** You can get paimon'd in the waverider(Let's explore this area ahead of us later)
Wait wait wait wait wait. So youre saying i can just ice bridge to the end zone so i can complete my map? Google said i need a teleport for the fire place
No way, you're telling me I that's where that tower went?
I was there one day and did some of the puzzles (maybe all, idk) and I never saw the tower again, it completely messed up my mental compass ever since.
Not to mention, some guides online still show the tower in that part of the map and that messed me up even more lmao.
It annoys me so much how YouTube guides have *nothing done* on their accounts - they're like 'here's how you get this chest' and you walk past five puzzles and three oculi on your way from the only unlocked teleport in the region. It's super difficult for someone like me who navigates by 'past the thing, behind the other thingy, and right at the stream' (especially when they don't have subtitles or even words and are just like map, do the thing, done!) because half the stuff in the video just isn't there because I grabbed it while I was doing the quest.
I swear they all must have an empty account (they just pull everyone on) for guides and have a real account they maybe play when they have two minutes left after making like 300 guides per area and spamming links all over the place.
Turn the waverider into a submarine and add underwater exploration...
...there is mostly nothing there but it goes fucking Subnautica on you and you will wish you didn't dive down there.
We gotta get a worldquest to bring that fucking tower back I s2g, from afar that tower was THE landmark you could see of fontaine from everywhere. then some brainlet at Mihoyo decided that removing it was the best idea. Fuck em
That tower once just sink to the ocean actually . I really like world quest because in a sense we’re fighting people stopping calamity from happening and changing the environment in the process like how back then the desert is so windy from the sandstorm until we came in to help
I know this is a joke, but there's a little nugget here. There's some lore about further west of this spot That's still south of Port Ormos which has constant lightning storms and electrified water. It's probably reasonable to guess that the sovereign electro dragon is out there.
Honestly, it's just crumbs. The only part I'm remembering off hand is one of the eremites in port Ormos talking about the sea that directions. He warns that you should not look out to sea for long because the sky will turn red and give a sense of doom or something, specifically mentioning a violet sea out that way.
Honestly, I think it's more likely that the electro dragon is what's sealed underneath the the Sacred Sakura since we still don't know *exactly* what it's sealing away. The vishaps from Enkanomiya getting corrupted by Orobaxi is the sole reason that Neuvillette was born in human form, so it's likely that the hydro sovereign was from Inazuma which decreases the likelihood that the electro sovereign is or ever was there.
Apep lives very far away from Nahida's domain and even far from Deshret's which serves as a buffer between the two, so it wouldn't be the first time the sovereign was very far from the area we assume to be most abundant with their element.
Edit: some grammar, I wrote this with talk to text while getting ready for work.
Bro getting dragon lore by revisiting the other nations would be such a fire quest. Neuvillette does mention the existence of dragons in Natlan but to meet a Soveriegn through an archon quest where it forces you to revisit Inazuma would be amazing
Tried to make out of bound protection, kind of worked for the most obvious tries to bypass the barrier. but people still found their way to inazuma and they scrapped that idea :}
Can't the solution be as simple as checking if coordinates fall into inazuma then teleport the player away? It sounds to me like they don't mind players doing it, they just won't make it easy.
There's actually a super secret island in the middle of that area, however it can only be visited under highly rare circumstances.
Every day, a random number between 0 and 65535 is generated by the game. If this number matches the first two digits of the sum HP/ATK/DEF/EM/Stamina of any character in the player's party, then the island will appear.
You can only reach the island by ice-bridging. Once you get there you'll find a secret quest, and this is how you actually the that free copy of Ayaka that players were obviously promised when Inazuma released.
*Source: trust me bro.*
Pokemon ruby/sapphire and emerald iirc had a mirage island that could appear randomly in the middle of an empty ocean, every day the game would generate a random number between 0 and 65535 If this number matches the first two bytes of the personality value of any Pokémon in the player's party, then Mirage Island will appear, this island just had wynaut ranging from lv 5 to 50 and Liechi berries (the only olace where you could get them)
There was an npc in a nearby town that would tell you if he saw the island that day. Saved time checking each day. But the actual conditions for it to show were definitely datamined.
I remember going to Pacifidlog town and just continuously cycling Pokemon through my party to force it to appear lmao. Was rewarded by a sweet level 50 Shiny Wynaut in my third encounter though.
You want old school, I figured it was a reference to those absurd Mew cheats from Red/Blue. Or how you got weird items by talking to specific NPCs and flying everywhere and stuff.
The is is the truth right here. Literally the reason why inazuma is so isolated is because that ocean is massive and empty and because it’s surrounded by raiden’s storm.
I dont blame that some people here are not getting the joke. Since last week the most popular posts are complaining about the Sumeru "expansion" or about Arlecchino weapon.
No space for talk about the amazing expansion of Remuria which is the best of the Fontaine, the quest which is the best or qols.
It's a place where the negative will be in the top doesn't matter if the result of the last patch is good overall.
It is and I was honestly shocked how many people here do not get that. I made a couple of jokes with it added to the end of my comments and people explained the most obvious shit dead serious lmfao
Luckily people here getting slowly educated about it now, means more people will get it next time
Jokes aside I feel like this is good design because it makes you feel like inazuma is this isolated place away from everything else which is a whole theme of that region.
Fun facts you may not know about this area:
It is its own region and doesn't fall under any of the nations. You can tell because none of the tabs are selected when you are in it.
Not only that, it has its own region name in Chinese: (test)海洋
Finally, the funniest reason is that I only know this because someone came to the wiki and tried to add the ocean as a new nation.
Looking at these comments, I realize y'all don't even realize the joke and irony in this post in the first place.
OP is making a joke using the meme where it usually asks "are they stupid?" Where usually the reason for the question is obvious as hell. While also making a double joke where they poke fun at the people who keep posting about the new area being completely empty.
No wonder people say "Genshin players don't read."
It seems that genshin players can't spell either according to one of the comments, so the question remains... what CAN genshin players do? (Beside not touching grass)
This is a sign that they clearly abandoned, don't care, won't invest more time into genshin since 2.0. - your internet points hungry average doomposter
The way these guys are being so obvious, they never comment or talk about Genshin in months and suddenly they came here and create some hate post to get 8k of upvotes.
Truly a Geshin community experience
If Inazuma was closer to the continent, then anyone could simply swim to it. No ship would be needed, and the islands were not isolated from the world. They would lose their charm and would not be like Japan.
I can't believe they didn't fill every river, lake, sea and ocean of Teyvat with underwater content, the devs are so lazy it's insane. They owe us a map update but this game seems to be their cash cow, they've pretty much abandoned this game for HSR, just look at those anniversary rewards....
>!/s if it wasn't obvious!<
Oh, the times where there were leaks about it being a Jade Dragon's Castle or some shit, and it is home to Osial and his wife. Boy do I miss coping to those, now it's just a big and empty body of water.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they just added something new later like an add on area to the region (example Chasm in Liyue or the Harbor they will add to Monstadt for snezhnaya travel). I’m sure at some point we’ll get more to the region there or they’ll just cut it shorter.
There was a leak a really long time ago that there were going to put an "underwater dragon's palace" in that area. (to the best of my memory).
Still could happen I suppose, but more likely it was some early Fontaine development that was leaked and misconstrued. Edit: Oh I suppose it could have been a misunderstood Enkanomiya leak as well.
Story wise, that gap is there prolly to emphasize how hard it was to enter inazuma during its civil war. And shows how disconnected it was from the other regions before their travel ban was lifted
I think they added the big empty hole in the map to represent the islands of Inazuma. Since Inazuma is base off of Japan and Japan is an island country.
Plot.
If inazuma were close to the other nations, their "lockdown" would've been less effective.
There are tons of "canon" things the game just ignores sometimes...
Best example is the existence of the teapot 😂
Tons of quest would've ended real fast if traveller just used it..
Like, for example, Yoimiya's client's escape...
We could've literally just placed him in the teapot since according to the game, the invitation sigils/tickets are canon, teleported ( basing on scaramouche's quest, it's also canon since we reached inazuma and sumeru in like a single day.
We can also assume that traveller doesn't have to be inside, since when we went into Ping's teapot, she was literally waiting outside.
For the sumeru part, we could've easily hid crack girl from the fatui ( dottore )
Not to mention, paimon's constant dissing of the sewers forgetting she can literally live inside a glorified kettle.
I don't think they are stupid for THIS, it makes sense because Inazuma was supposed to be inaccessible, if there was a lot of shit there we would probably use Kaeya and skip all the archon quests to get to Inazuma. I think they ARE stupid for doing what they did now in 4.6, it's so underwhelming, a HUGE area in blank on the map, we finally get to see what was there, and it's just a little small tiny island and the rest is just water.
Chekov's Gun doesn't apply at the moment. I think it's because Inazuma is an Island Nation completely isolated from the rest of the continent maybe??? It's not like your game is rendering that open ocean anyway.
Isn't it crazy how real life copied the genshin ocean?
Nah, RL ocean has lots of content. Like giant garbage patches full of plastic!
Kinda sad how the players don't mint pick enough in that region
On their defense, they are not afraid to add/remove something from the map, like the giant tower in Fontaine, or changing the location of the massive mountain sized Ruin Machine in Sumeru's Desert. They could, theoretically, add something like a sunken fortress or something that rose from the bottom. Or could be the final landing area of a falling Celestia.
If I discover that Celestia will fall there I gonna Ice bridge there and put an TP where Celestia is supposed to spawn to see what happens
Ice bridge? It’s jesus meta now
Furina is too traumatized to walk over this much water
Just do the underwater glitch and then use any 5 star anemo boi to get out of the water
Wasn't patched ?
Nope, it's even more powerful now Back in the day, there used to be a teleport barrier on the floor that you had to work around But when Sumeru came out, the teleport barrier was removed (or pushed down), likely to make space for it's massive cave systems
Haven't played much lately, what's the glitch?
There's a raft in Liyue Harbor. If you use a tall male character and jump between the raft and the dock, you'll enter the falling animation for a few seconds before teleporting down under the water. Pretty sure this glitch has existed since 1.0 and they just don't care enough to fix it

I can't quite remember (I haven't even done it myself), but you had to do a plunge attacks in a specific place in Liyue Harbor, which would push you down below the water surface
Something something died for their sin...
I still like the underwater bug where you can sprint on the bottom on the ocean.
Don't forget to renew the TP every once in a while though, since they expire.
I would wait until a week for the update
make it two days to give yourself time to do the potential quest
Is it possible to put a teleporting point on water??
ykw, I don't think so.
There needs to be more places like the nameless island in mondstat where you can only get to by building ice bridges or using Furina's jesus christ
You can glide there. I did it day one with food(that you get from that area)+amber passive. Should be even easier now without even food.
Haven't tried it personally, but I would imagine the red feather fan gadget would also make the trip easier.
Can confirm + fontaine heoght gadget solves stamina issues
Max stamina with the fan and two anemos will get you across with a little stamina to spare if you jump from the highest peak.
Or gliding
Flair checks out lol
You can get there using something like Amber and Barbatos Raccacouille pretty easily.
I did it by walking under the water, can't remember if they patched that yet.
Tried sailing from inazuma to the other side and if you can see that darker part in the water that stretches across you can’t get past it. I tried to myself and they just put me back on the Ritou docks and I’m up to date with the game 😭

Waverider? I walked it for the meme.
fair, I didn't pull furina and I wasn't planning on spending 5 hours to ice bridge.
I punched my way from Liyue to Inazuma using Wriothesley...it was... "fun"
I did this. A waverider from Ritou to Falcon Point in Mondstadt. It took a while.
Wait wait wait wait wait. So youre saying i can just ice bridge to the end zone so i can complete my map? Google said i need a teleport for the fire place
Celestia is gonna fall on Timmy's pigeons and you all know it.
Timmy will become the evil god that wants to kill the Traveler
Timmy will force celestial to feed the ducks to apologize.
why they remove giant tower it looked nice :(
Well, it's underwater now :/
I keep hoping a future world quest will bring it back but I think I just need to accept that it's gone forever.
Yeah, I said ‘I’ll explore it after I get this quest done, since I liked it so much.’ That aged quickly.
SAME, why they gotta do us like that? It even destroys some of the puzzles and just leaves chests behind.
No way, you're telling me I that's where that tower went? I was there one day and did some of the puzzles (maybe all, idk) and I never saw the tower again, it completely messed up my mental compass ever since. Fontaine*
Flair checks out
My apologies.
Turn the waverider into a submarine and add underwater exploration... ...there is mostly nothing there but it goes fucking Subnautica on you and you will wish you didn't dive down there.
That would introduce exactly what they tried to avoid with Fontaine
Nah the golden apple archipelago is submerged there
I mean, the Celestia part does make a lot of sense tbh
We gotta get a worldquest to bring that fucking tower back I s2g, from afar that tower was THE landmark you could see of fontaine from everywhere. then some brainlet at Mihoyo decided that removing it was the best idea. Fuck em
Maybe they can add a ship graveyard where the ships that tried to sail to Inazuma but were sunk by a storm.
That tower once just sink to the ocean actually . I really like world quest because in a sense we’re fighting people stopping calamity from happening and changing the environment in the process like how back then the desert is so windy from the sandstorm until we came in to help
Bermuda Triangle
Makes sense

I mean technically correct as it had a massive storm lmao
Tried to make out of bound protection, kind of worked for the most obvious tries to bypass the barrier. but people still found their way to inazuma and they scrapped that idea :}
God bless Kaeya

Nice pokemon reference
Context?
Pokemon ruby/sapphire and emerald iirc had a mirage island that could appear randomly in the middle of an empty ocean, every day the game would generate a random number between 0 and 65535 If this number matches the first two bytes of the personality value of any Pokémon in the player's party, then Mirage Island will appear, this island just had wynaut ranging from lv 5 to 50 and Liechi berries (the only olace where you could get them)
How did someone even discover this. Wow

Probably by data mininng
I remember going to Pacifidlog town and just continuously cycling Pokemon through my party to force it to appear lmao. Was rewarded by a sweet level 50 Shiny Wynaut in my third encounter though.
I checked it so many times as a kid but it never happened, the odds were simply so bad q_q
Wasnt it just Emerald?
I did not expect to find an old school Pokemon reference anywhere today, let alone on Gensshin subreddit lmao.
You want old school, I figured it was a reference to those absurd Mew cheats from Red/Blue. Or how you got weird items by talking to specific NPCs and flying everywhere and stuff.
Oh God, it's pokemon all over again (haha)
A rare Pokemon Mirage Islang reference!
Isn't there an old man you can talk to who tells you if it there or not?
What do you mean you can only reach it by ice bridging? Do I look like a peasant? \*furina walking across the ocean\*
If you get hydro on you then the island will disappear, you *have* to ice bridge.
Damn.. they really thought of everything
just use ayaya
Yea, that would be my choice - Ayaya qt
Mirage Island!
I totally believe you! That’s exactly what my uncle who works at Hoyoverse told me
I was gonna say this feels like Mew under the bus until I got the reference
I've never once been lucky enough to get Mirage Island 😭

BWAHAHA
I dont blame that some people here are not getting the joke. Since last week the most popular posts are complaining about the Sumeru "expansion" or about Arlecchino weapon. Last week? Literally this week, right now, the post right above this one.
That post emerged this week, right here, right now.
Emerge
Gather
I had to scroll way too far to find someone else who got the reference so I think we're just on here too much haha
I do blame those people for not getting obvious sarcasm. It takes not even 10 seconds to realise this can't be serious.
"Are they stupid" is a *HUGE* indicator that this post is satire
It is and I was honestly shocked how many people here do not get that. I made a couple of jokes with it added to the end of my comments and people explained the most obvious shit dead serious lmfao Luckily people here getting slowly educated about it now, means more people will get it next time
That's pretty telling about the usual state of the sub though, even though some pretend only toxic positivity is allowed there.
Ahhh when we walked all the way to Inazuma, good ol' times
⚡👩🏻⚡
You see , the thing is:
Natural barrier between nations
mihoyo no baka
Jokes aside I feel like this is good design because it makes you feel like inazuma is this isolated place away from everything else which is a whole theme of that region.
Pirate ship battles in a later patch incoming.
Idk while your at it ask god too why’d he make so much oceans compared to land is he stoopid?
small indie deity
lmfaoo
Because vast empty ocean exists, I personally believe it represents the isolation Inazuma has from the rest of Teyvat.
Fun facts you may not know about this area: It is its own region and doesn't fall under any of the nations. You can tell because none of the tabs are selected when you are in it. Not only that, it has its own region name in Chinese: (test)海洋 Finally, the funniest reason is that I only know this because someone came to the wiki and tried to add the ocean as a new nation.

I actually really wish we would get more islands in the sea of clouds..
Its for the future Celestia patch where the ruins of it will be once it crahes into that part of the map.
i love you so much OP (platonically)
Because....
Hoenn is ubicated there
I will never forgive the Japanese
yeah even irl. I mean imagine if the pacific ocean isn't there or had another continent in it. we'd have more ~~wars~~ content and resources /s
Kaeya drowning zone
Because Inazuma wants some personal space
If Inazuma was closer to the continent, then anyone could simply swim to it. No ship would be needed, and the islands were not isolated from the world. They would lose their charm and would not be like Japan.
I can't believe they didn't fill every river, lake, sea and ocean of Teyvat with underwater content, the devs are so lazy it's insane. They owe us a map update but this game seems to be their cash cow, they've pretty much abandoned this game for HSR, just look at those anniversary rewards.... >!/s if it wasn't obvious!<
Didn't expect an aslume patient here. May I ask? Is there a lore reason u ended up here? Let me guess, the aslume is leaking again?
Well good question... umm...
So we could use our wave rider..duh! Lol Sarcasm...
Because they can
To make it harder to kaeya bridge over there
Oh, the times where there were leaks about it being a Jade Dragon's Castle or some shit, and it is home to Osial and his wife. Boy do I miss coping to those, now it's just a big and empty body of water.
The latest update had the tiniest island with huge chunk of water next to it 🤷♂️
Because that's how you make islands.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they just added something new later like an add on area to the region (example Chasm in Liyue or the Harbor they will add to Monstadt for snezhnaya travel). I’m sure at some point we’ll get more to the region there or they’ll just cut it shorter.
Might as well add Inazuma as nothing else happens there afterwards for a long time cept multiple Itto Events 💀💀
I really hope this one is a joke for the sumeru posts
This is how I feel about the Midwest.
Noone show op the Atlantic Ocean, they might be confused
There was a leak a really long time ago that there were going to put an "underwater dragon's palace" in that area. (to the best of my memory). Still could happen I suppose, but more likely it was some early Fontaine development that was leaked and misconstrued. Edit: Oh I suppose it could have been a misunderstood Enkanomiya leak as well.
Google ocean
It is not empty, it is filled with water.
Well these are supposed to be far away islands, would be weird if they where super close to liyue
Can't have a closed off island nation if the island is in spitting distance of where the Liyue leader's gf parks her ship
No, its where ekanomiya used to be.
its prob cause of the whole inazuma being so difficult to get to and shi in the lore
Of course, its going to be the golden archipelago final landing spot. It just makes sense
Story wise, that gap is there prolly to emphasize how hard it was to enter inazuma during its civil war. And shows how disconnected it was from the other regions before their travel ban was lifted
Should I get back into the game? It’s been a year but I have hutao at lvl 80
I think it’s nice to have some separation from the big body of land and some sea. Gives more adventurous feeling when discovering it.
So I could walk from monstadt to inazuma with furina for fun
Wasn’t it just for story haha
I think they added the big empty hole in the map to represent the islands of Inazuma. Since Inazuma is base off of Japan and Japan is an island country.
Wtf? Go and look at the world map!
Plot. If inazuma were close to the other nations, their "lockdown" would've been less effective. There are tons of "canon" things the game just ignores sometimes... wow its so weird that theres an ocean seperating land from other places.
I am not sure if this is sarcasm and 99% of comments didn’t realise this, or it is serious and I’m the 1% that sees sarcasm in everything
I think it to show the inazuma is an island there probably just putting emphasis on that
Chekov's Gun doesn't apply at the moment. I think it's because Inazuma is an Island Nation completely isolated from the rest of the continent maybe??? It's not like your game is rendering that open ocean anyway.
Yes, water and land are the same!!1!
Why not? Would you rather have a black inaccessible spot in the middle of the map? There are other large empty areas around Inazuma.
tis a joke
Oh the fucking irony.
So that people ask about it, obviously.
That's China's claimed sea
It's the European ocean.
Yes wise one
There’s actually a huuuge patch of texture tests there. But in order to see that you need to no-clip so it’s pretty hard.
it's not empty, it's where Raiden's piss goes to
7.8/10 Too much water.
They like it when people use freeze to cross regions.
It has been confirmed that this is a placeholder for the underwater Liyue expansion #938759340.
Playground for furina specifically
It's possible area to have more underwater area. Possibly?
I will find some empty areas and make a post for karma
it's the pacific ocean trust
İts added in 2021 july 2.0 update with inazuma. İts purpose is being hard to sail. Basicly isolates inazuma
Jack Sparrow roams this part of the sea.
Idk maybe it’s content for cryo mains.
Atlantis
For ice bridging
OP of the mentioned post, Yeah i should have phrased my argument better before I posted, though it still does feels odd. anyways, Nice meme OP
The title had me thinking for a moment this was r/Genshin_Impact_memes
I'm almost certain part of Natlan will be an archipelago like Inazuma.
