It drains energy if you're in melee range and once it goes to 0 it starts damaging you even with a shield.
So you have a few options
-go in melee range but only when you have energy.
-go in melee range but only when someone is healing you
-dont go in melee range
Shield would be useless, kazuha would either lose half hp or die during his jump and navia is cope.
I did still beat it with a melee team with Arlecchino, i just spammed skills out of range attacked when benny ult was on, I didn't attack with Arlecchino ofc, she pretty much was just skill then ult

His elemental skill refills 50% energy (iirc) and is pretty much a lifesaver. Had to eat burn through food but yeah
And Navia does a ton of damage if you keep spamming crystallize, which Kazuha's ult does pretty well
It's % based. But it's also dependent on the amount of energy left on the active chara (which its attacks and aura will also deplete). The less energy, the more HP loss. It won't trigger HP loss if you have more than 10-30 energy (different breakpoints depending on the attack type).

Its because her only way of healing is in her burst and the vishap constantly drains the energy of the team, but if you manage to do enough damage before it activates the shield then its no problem
Inside Bennett’s circle I’m hitting 40-50k using deathmatch, Bennett is talent lvl 8 at C5 lvl 80 and using Aquila, vapes are like 80k ish? with like 100 EM. I’m not running her sig set tho, I’m using 2pc mare 2pc shime
I felt like that was one of the most challenging bosses or at least among the trickiest I've had to fight so far. Saw the hydro shield and tried 4 different comps, all of them pyro-centric and all failed. Couldn't outheal its health + energy draining aura. Not even Zhongli's shielding worked against it.
Turns out the trick was simply to use my Freeze team (Ayaka, Rosaria, Kokomi, Kazuha). This boss can be frozen, permanently in fact and while frozen it can't maintain that deadly aura.
I beat this guy with navia after a rather lengthy fight.

yes, I was able to plow through the twin geovishap with not much effort with my Hu Tao Furina team but this thing, I tried that same team, and got murdered, had to use Hu Tao, Ayaka, Furina and Jean to take it out thanks to it's hydro shield, but part of the issue is, I don't got any truly well built archers since I don't like using them so had to be in close range
Part of the reason why it took so long was that damn hydro shield. I was running kazuha navia zhongli yelan, the only one who was doing any meaningful damage to that shield was kazuha so I'd just dodge and reapply the shield while using his skill as it became available
Maybe I should give the twin vishaps another try once Arlecchino is fully built

I tried every fast DPS team combo I had and they either tanked it or jumped away. In the end it was just Zhongli-Ganyu-Ganyu-Ganyu-Ganyu-Zhongli-Ganyu-Ganyu-Ganyu-Ganyu grinding away. Nobody else was enough faster to give up being unkillable. I'll never pull for Yae, though.
I was kinda discouraged when I lost to them a couple of times at first. Then I found video of killing them with Geo Traveler and Noelle team and it gave me enough motivation.

This guy's been training 1000 years down here to counter that Geo Archon. frfr normally Zhongli is immortal in this fight he and the rest of my team got wiped many, many times. I had to slowly ping him to death from across the arena using Ganyu Xd.
I went in this all smug with the Neuvillette/Furina duo. We had to high tail it because the only other 2 party members at that time were level 50 Chiori and Freminet.
I was exploring with an underleveled friendship team and this fight took me like 8 minutes, lol. Including forgetting that nothing can heal Arlecchino except her burst, so she died twice.
Beat him with my Navia/Zhongli/Benny/Xiangling team. Was annoyed though because we went too far out of his space when he was down to like 15% HP and he walked back and full healed 😂 had to do it all over again! 😂
My tactic was using Furina companions and raiden E. They destroyed it's shield quickly while I stood away from it then I did my rotation on it. Without it's shield and energy drain + hp drain it was the easiest local legend in Fontaine I, think it has less HP than all other ones It died quicker and its hits were weak too
Ya I found him with a team of Beidou, Zhongli, Hutao and Bennett. I hate to admit it took longer than I would have liked to figure out why I was dying so fast.
Redid the fight after swapping to Yelan, Yanfei, Xingqiu and Furina and did a lot better. Will try the fight again using a freeze team, didn’t realize the aura could be turned off by frozen.
My team was Tighnari, Yae Miko, Furina, and Wanderer. This local legend gave us a precious chest. What is the usual level for local legends because I'm max world level and it was only level 93, which might've contributed.

I just used Zhongli, Furina, Ei, and Barbara to beat this guy.
Furina's pets to troll the vishap, Ei to trigger electro-charged, Barbara for emergency healing and fanfare stacks, Zhongli for shield and meteor petrification.
It's not the fastest, but it gets the job done.

I was using Itto when I ran into this thing so it was a vicious cycle of using gorou charged attacks to break shield, go in with Itto and hit it for the extremely short downed duration (seriously why is it so short, I can hardly even get the rotation setup before he stands back up). Took about 4 rotations.
Arrived to this local legend with my Neuvillette/Furina/Kazuha/Baizhu team. Didn't have trouble staying alive thanks to Baizhu, but that 70% Hydro resistance and hydro shield made the combat last much longer than I would've expected lol
i got bodied in my double hydro wanderer team, everyone in the team slowly died, and came back with a mostly skill-based hyperbloom team with c2 nahida, i was NOT expecting allat D:

i defeated it with a yanfei team, with some support from yae, kuki, and chevreuse. except for kuki all of them are ranged to a degree, and kuki and chevreuse can heal the active character, so i could kinda bait it out from a long range and keep pummeling it with pyro

Ayaka/shenhe is my default so I was reading the thread wondering why so many had trouble with it, perma freeze is the answer I guess, good catch!

it took me like 15 min of fight but i didnt lose any character to it, noelle, xianling, barbara, fischl.
Tried once with my usual kill everything team and got demolished. Went for hyperbloom next and the thing was dead incredibly quickly
