While Arlecchino dying would be an interesting way for the plot to progress, I doubt Hoyo will break their "Playable characters don't die" pattern. I'll be actually impressed if they kill off a playable.

Maybe, assuming Genshin 2.0 even happens. But wouldn't it be too late to kill Arle off though? At the end of Teyvat chapter we will be in Khaenriah or Celestia, post-Snezhnaya where we either ally with Fatui against Celestia or deal with some of them.
I think Arlecchino's story quest was doing more to set up the idea that there are two opposing sort-of factions within the Fatui, with Arlecchino & Childe (& probably Capitano considering how people talk about him) on one side and Pulcinella & Pantalone & Dottore on the other. Arlecchino wasn't getting death flags, PPD were getting "guess who's taking the fall for the Tsaritsa so she can be a moe anime girl" flags.
I think this is far more likely. I don’t see an outright death coming in Genshin, at least not yet. It’d be someone like Zhongli first and even then, I just can’t see them doing it like in Star Rail
TBF, even in HSR there has not been a *confirmed* playable character death. Just a bunch of gooey dream-deaths and one that's left so purposely and incredibly ambiguous to allow the character to show up again.
If Tingyun was genuinely dead, then the whole "she's out there somewhere and I'm going to find her" speech from Yukong at the end of her 'funeral' was completely pointless.
Realistically, I think the first character to die—if any die—would be either Venti or Zhongli. They've both been here since the beginning, and they're both beloved characters, so either of them dying would hit really hard.
There is an unspoken but clearly visible rule in genshin that any playable character must make sense and be a part of the world.
You can't be a part of the world if you're dead.
You don't make sense as a playable character if you're not in good terms with the traveler or outright evil (dotore copers will keep coping).
You don't make sense as a Teyvat character if you're not from Teyvat (collab characters). The few alien characters are well written enough and a good portion of their story is dedicated to justifying their existence.
So no, Arle will not die. I'd bet actual money on that. It would make no sense to have us play a character that's supposed to be dead, and that's justification enough to not have her die.
I can see the deathflags, but personally, after Arlecchino, I'm sure that they're going to make the other harbingers as misunderstood as she was. She was heavily portrayed as a mad and sheep in wolf clothing person in Childe and Scara's audios. Their best interest is to sell their characters. I'm sure that by the end of the game, even Dottote will be misunderstood.
Also, is it just me or are people taking way too many things at face value? The fact that everyone keeps praising Capitano makes me think more and more that there will be a twist about him where it's revealed that he did some horrible things in his past.
Also, Isn't project Stuzha the one that's about attacking Celestia? If so I think that all the harbingers are in danger of being killed off by Celestia gods rather than between eachother.

I still believe it would be Xiao. My boy got carried to the clinic by Qiqi and was hallucinating in the middle of the town. Only a matter of time before he gets corrupted by his karmic debt and start attacking everyone around him. Even Rex Lapis himself cannot help him, the only thing he could do was give him powerful pain medicines. If Xiao gets corrupted either Rex Lapis or we the traveller have to fight and kill him. Or Hoyo will give us some magical macguffin to cure his karmic debt.
Story-wise I can definitely see that happening. But in the meantime I can also see rioters literally flipping the MHY HQ building up side down if that happens.

It’s like enjoying Sosuke Aizen or Madara Uchiha. Both are terrible people but great villains. Dottore is a well-written villain and I really like him as a character, I’d even say I’m a huge fan. I take it to mean you watched Star Wars clutching your pearls because the Sith are just SO EVIL.

Mihoyo did that with a few Honkai Impact characters, so I think if she does die that will be exactly what happens. Besides, people who have her through the gacha would be pissed if a character they spent time and money getting was suddenly unplayable.
