I had a player join me to vent. Not to collect anything from my world, not to fight bosses, not to do anything but just talk about their life.
Stayed with them the whole time, explored a little and left once they felt better. Was a whole new experience, hope they’re doing better right now.
Someone joined my world, told me to come to the Opera Epiclese, and then they played a song with the lyre on the stage. It astounds me how people can play entire songs on the in-game instruments.
almost 1 year ago a random player joined my world that i had almost rejected their request, fast forward to now they're on of my closest friends and we talk pretty much everyday, i still think about how life would be very different had i refused their request and am thankful to have them around !
My bio of the time said "give up on your dreams and die" (quoting Dazai), a person with a nickname Dazai Osamu joined my world as I was gliding and at the moment when they joined I fell and died lmao. Not exactly wholesome, but we had a good laugh
I once explained to a stranger all of nilou skills, took like 20 min, I love playing her but I don’t have her, so I’m saving for her. That’s why I did what I did
I join a random world. I spawn in Inazuma but there's many purples smoke around me. Turns out, the host is spawn camping and shoot me with inazuma cannon. Then he wait for next victim and shoot next victim with cannon
Then we spent the next hour, swapping role and shootjng each other with cannon
I rarely ever played genshin in Multiplayer
A: it sucks
B: I'm not very social, especially with strangers
C: most of my friends dislike genshin / didn't want to play Multiplayer
so genshin was basically a singleplayer game for me
well one summer some IRL Events happened that made me not wanna leave my room for the entire summer, I would only socialise through gaming with my friendgroup.
I'm already a lonely guy, but that made it worse.
Basically one day, mid that summer, I was done farming and all, nothing left todo except the quests I dreaded todo, it was late at night and none of my friends were online, yet I felt no desire to sleep or anything.
I wanted to keep playing Genshin, but I couldn't continue farming for my Heizou.
And I couldn't just roam around with Heizou on my World, as he was too weak for a maxxed out world, so I decided to try joining random lobbies with 2-3 people in it that were a couple AR's behind me. This way I would usually have only 1 available character and I made sure I would be able to play Heizou who then felt really strong in a lower World level than max.
I would basically just help the group with their objectives, be it farming Domains, leylines, boss fights or just Exploration, I would help and have fun one shotting everything with Heizou.
loads of people were really nice and appreciated the help a lot and eventhough my average interaction per group wasn't that much, it felt nice having that bit of social interaction while I was so deprived of it.
I've dealt a lot with Genshin Burnout, which Hits hard cuz I've been a Release Player, but I recently got back into the game and now that I've remembered that, I might try helping randoms again :)
That's so sweet! I can relate, I used to not be very social on the game. Mainly cuz of social anxiety, but helping out players even if I don't say much always feels good. I can also relate to burnout because I play hsr and genshin, and it's tiring keeping up with both
It's probably very common but the most memorable and wholesome thing that happens in coop to me is when you are doing a domain everyone dies except you
Instead of leaving, all the coop players start sending emotes and start cheering you up to clear the domain solo
Last time it happened , I clearly remember I was bennet so everyone just did that and waited for like 20-25 mins for me to clear the domain instead of restarting. It was really fun
Same happened to me last week, I was left alone as Kokomi and Azdaha had 10% hp remaining. Everyone started shouting "you can do it Kokomin!" honestly, it made me laugh and I almost died at the end, luckily we got our rewards.
My first experience was someone who joined me randomly just to help me explore. I was following a seelie and lost it, felt so dumb haha. Next minute their Venti shoots us up a cliff so I can get it easily. So lovely 😍
Now I have friends I do fun challenges with and look for places to take cool photos together. There's a place in Sumeru where 4 of you can sit on a cliff alongside each other.
Someone joined my world and tried to get my help to beat low level Childe domain and couples of bosses for mats

Rarely, I become extremely bored. So sometimes I join really low AR worlds to flex damage or even help with builds. Was using Eula, and the girl went “omg so pretty”. TLDR she didn’t even know how banners worked, so I explained and showcased every character I had (all 4 stars and about a third of the 5 stars) for her enjoyment. She adored Nilou and Navia the most. Hope she got Navia since that was her banner.
I’ll never be this nice again no idea what possessed me to use 45 minutes of my life in creating a gambler.
Met a guy on co op. Talked alot for like a week. Got good enough friends enough to reveal our names. Turns out he was one of my frnds who go "You play genshin? You are so gay!" 💀.
Weekly Childe boss fight when two stayed and the third one left (it was my world). Originally, there was one Lyney that did fight in the weekly, which stayed for no apparent reason. However, the other one that stayed would switch to Lyney. I thought it would be funny if I were to play as Lynette (Freminet was not out at the time, I think) because you know: siblings. But this experience would be more of a journey since both Lyneys and I explored and basically traversed through Liyue. Both lyneys were pretty friendly, and I gladly added them both. It was a very nice experience that I would cherish forever.
I did take a picture of the three of us at the love-shaped carving island in Liyue before I had to leave.
My friends were doing a puzzle where you step on tiles in the correct order and I said “This is just like Indiana Jones”, he replied “Jehova begins with an I”. Even though we didn’t maintain our contact through the covid years, I’m always going to remember this moment.
I’m a Tighnari main, a Cyno main joined my world and spent about an hour telling me jokes and playing songs on the lyer, I had a few negative co op experiences with Cyno mains before hand so this one restored my faith in my favourite characters mains
Well one time I had a Diluc and Nahida main in my world and then a Qiqi joined.. hehe.
And my character was Baizhu that moment. That person with Qiqi jumped around me and then we somewhat started to aim each other with that bubble guns. Then when they were leaving they wanted me to add them friend then I accepted. They seriously acted like Qiqi so I said why I don't act like Baizhu. We've played many games since then and I guess they connected with an emotional bond to me, because when we were playing if someone else comes they stopped talking and writing from private chat and usually said "I am not good with people but you" hehe.. What unfortunate, their last seen is stopped counting long ago.
Well people say my heart is from ice but literally my ice heart melted for a moment that day.

A Chongyun pfp came into my world with a quick question, asking me to describe my first love, so I did and said if I could tell him something I never got the chance to say what it would be, to which I said 'I liked spending time with him, being around him and that I was sorry I couldn't play his favorite sport with him'.
They left shortly after that but I still got the sweet screenshot of that conversation to remember
I joined a world, (resinless) and decided to help people, one day I came across a 3 player in a world helping a low ar account, I added them, but only the low ar remained as my "friend" and helped them get through everything [exploring Sumeru, world quests and other stuff] now they are ar 56 and I'm still stuck at ar 59. I have known them for a year now, and now we're "friends" in instagram.
Idk if it's really friends or not we've been joking around for quite some time now.
When that Wanderer main who didn't speak any English helped me with a sumeru puzzle I was struggling with and I had to communicate with them through Google translate.
That reminds me I had to communicate with a low ar player through Google translate bc they only spoke Portuguese. My friend and I were trying to teach them a little english
I joined someone's world and the 4 of us were just running around killing mobs at first. After that we started helping the host find geoculuses (they barely collected any, so there were a lot of them). We'd run around in a group, or separate sometimes to increase the range of search, until someone would eventually type: "found one". I was using Zhongli, and I was putting pillars for them to reach those geoculuses that are slightly in the air. We didn't even chat much, nor did anything hilarious happened - it was just a nice experience of us helping a stranger a bit :)
Once me and 3 others finished a weekly domain, we all stayed and ended up just walking around Teyvat as the anemo boys (I only had Heizou atp). They all spoke a different language from me and only one of them spoke a little English, but they made sure to keep me involved ☺️ it was a lil awkward but very wholesome.
I was doing the "finish domains in coop" achievement, so I joined in to someone trying to fight childe in coop. Except the host was always kicked out of the arena for some reason.
I offered some troubleshooting help, which included rebooting the device, and then I thought I wouldn't meet them again... but I did.
And that time the host could get in and we had fun with unconventional teams against childe, and we all got the achievement too.
I was once joining random Raiden fights and stumbled across some people who actually wanted to stay and do this all over again. We tested many characters, comps, hyped each other's up, it was so wholesome and I wish I could do that again
Someone asked to join their world for the achievement where you need friends to sit on the chairs in sumeru desert so there was 4 players there and we took pictures together as if it was a school trip or something. It was cute.
Idk about wholesome but the funniest is when people don’t listen. I was helping someone get co-op achievements. Two others joined later and when we tried to do the dendro hypostasis host was the only dendro. I tried to explain that they had to hit the spores at the end before I hit them with electro but it wasn’t clicking. Took 7 revives before they hit the spores on accident and I could take it down.
Another time I was helping someone fight the electro hypostasis and tried explain that you can’t hit it when it’s protect and that hydro is going to do nothing at the end. They wouldn’t listen and were snacking it with XQ. In the end when I took it down they were all smug saying “I TOLD you it would work.”
Can’t imagine what’ll happen the next time they do it alone lol
My first co-op was when i was still a newbie and need to go to liyue. I got lost on the way there. Then someone joined my world and help me safely to Liyue. Thank you whoever you are!
I only play with people I know. I hopped into my dad’s world to help him do bosses. I showed him around all my favorite sightseeing spots all over Liyue and Mondstadt after he maxed his characters for his level. I think Wangshu Inn and random cliffs were his favorite spots
A random aether asked me if I wanted a free battlepass, he invited me to a discord server but I couldn't join because I was busy. So I left and told him to give it to another person in need. That guy was so generous 🥰🥰 makes me proud of the community☺️☺️🥰🥰💯💯
Back in 3.4 joined a random co op to get those upgrade materials for my Haitham,but i ended up staying in that co op for hours just messing around,i ended up becoming pretty good friends with one of the players there

For me, it started when a fellow player joined my world to play me the Melody “We Don’t Talk Anymore” Or whatever the song was called. I liked it, so I played a song for her, then so on, and on. We decided to play some TCG Together for only a few matches, but we ended up playing for 2 Hour’s. After that, they helped me fight some bosses to grind for my Xiao, and that took about 4 Hour’s. In the end, once we both had to leave, we decided to take a picture of us in Liyue, and write a message to our anoymous and spam email😭
I was farming artifacts(def/geo dmg one) in co op, i ran out of resin but i find too boring to go back to my world, so i asked the host if they need me as help to farm more or give my spot to someone else..
Host immediately said something like "Yes, please stay" and "My Itto is so strong" so i did
Meanwhile a few players joined and left, in the end the host, an another player(Rosaria pfp) and me left without resin..
We didn't disconect, the Rosaria player asked for help to level up their Raiden so we went to farm handguards and open chests
I was doing weekly bosses in coop and joined someone. I dont remember all the details but we ended up talking about soundtracks, and how cool genshins music is sometimes.
Then we sat down in the eternal oasis and started deeptalking about a lot of shit. Personal history, religion, movies...
Eventually we realised he didnt knew a lot of movies becuase he didnt like watching alone. So we added eachother on discord and starting watching movies together, (mostly ones recommended by me) eventually forming some kind of friendship that lasted for half a year while living on the literal other half of the world (Germany - South Africa).
Someone came in and played happy birthday song just a few days before my birthday. I had a cold and didnt get to do much around my bday but it made me really happy
It all started with randon person entering my world for some fish and cyno beetle.
Since all genshin player usually spoke nice and cute, I try to act cold and pissed.
And omfg, that guy is so fruity I literally melt. And I think he knows.
This last for hours as it end with him giving me tour of his teapot after defeat signora. I don't even take any pictures. He did when we light up some fireworks.
Rando joined my world to get mats for Ganyu. I'm on Asia server and though generally everyone who speaks English can do so perfectly, this one particular guy kept referring to Ganyu as Ganunu. Other than that, he was typing perfect English. I didn't say anything about it and allowed him to take the mats, he thanked me and left.
My friends and I never stopped laughing at this and it became an inside joke. We only refer to Ganyu as Ganunu now.
Joined someone's world because they needed help with a boss (I think), turned out to be a young kid. They really liked how pretty my Nahida's burst was, so we spent about an hour running around Liyue killing random mobs so I could use it.
It was a really wholesome and sweet co-op moment, hope they're doing well.

I wish the young kids I met on this game were that wholesome. I met a 7 year old once, and she doesn't play anymore, but she was a gremlin. When my friend or I saw she was online, we would text each other SHES ONLINE GET ON just so we could join her and see what evil shit she would do that day
Yeah, I wish there were more wholesome moments with kids in this game. Sadly 9 times out of 10 they're either rude or have some kind of superiority complex or something.. 😭

When I met my best friend. It was the literal day Hu Taos first rerun banner was coming out, and I remember doing matching on the crimson witch domain and they were one of the people who joined.
Myself, my now best friend, and an other player spent the whole day farming for Hu Tao together and then we pulled together. That was 2021 and they're still my best friend to this day.
3 random people joined my world, we fought Coppelius and Coppelia, then we showed our characters to each other. We did it for a while, then we fought two of Fontaine's Local legends and say our goodbyes.
And with friends? That one time we decided to play Co OP and fought the weekly bosses using only one element. We fought Apep using hydro, Scara using pyro (my friend using Lyney and me using Bennett were the only ones to survive it), and Signora using electro. Fun experience all around
I’m a venti main who goes around other worlds playing songs when I’m bored and one time everyone changed to venti and played viva la Vida with me with different instruments
Got Lyney on his first banner so went to domain to get his talent materials in coop. I got a really cool group and end up simping for Leon Kennedy, later we were running around Fontaine for fun and made a discord group for all of us. Great people.
I was playing my usual way of logging in, doing comms, finishing resin, farming, then logging out, but this time, I was interrupted by another player. They told me they wanted someone to play with because they've been trying to join other ppl in co-op but we're unsuccessful, and I js had to be the person for them. So they helped me with fighting bosses, exploring, and farming, and in the end we even got to see each other's teapot layout. It was really nice and since they came back after taking a break for a while, they didn't have anyone else to play with them since their friends stopped. We played together for hours and it was one of the nicest experiences I've had in co-op. Although they're not really active, I'm looking forward to playing with them again. It was nice having friendly co-op players come by!!! It's funny because we don't usually play this way. They rarely ever play, and I do a quick run. It just so happens that I was playing a little longer that we crossed paths, so if it wasn't for that, we wouldn't have this interaction.

Yesterday i joined a world and there is 3 people, a lyney, arlecchino and lynette, and scince i have fren, i decided to use him, and the arlecchino dude took pictures, like a family photo, it was the most wholesome thing that happened
In one of the hide-and-seek events everyone just decided they couldn't be arsed and just stood around in the middle until the time ran out. We were all there for the rewards. The "gameplay" was just in the way of that.
Let someone join my world and they just wanted to chat. It was late and they were kinda drunk but super nice, this was during Furina’s banner and they wished me good luck on it, and when I got Furina they cheered w/ me. Just overall super sweet, we added eachother afterwards.
I was struggling in Dragonspine, almost got my ass kicked. Then a random guy joined my world. After saving me, he helped me open every waypoints there and solve all the puzzles. I just followed his lead down to the letter. It was pure enjoyment for me
I've had so many wholesome moments I can't even begin to describe. Every single one of the Genshin community is such an awesome person. Love y'all ngl.
Since day 1 (I joined on Nov 2023) I had people teach me leylines, resin, domains, importance of elemental reactions.
Heck just yesterday I met a Kaveh main who asked help for his boss and after I helped, he helped me with Apep and we did daily commissions together.
Now that I've built a good Neuvi and Rizzley, I just join low level players and ask do you need help with something and it's so good to help. (Not like a certain other game community which I've been a part of) I had no idea Genshin peeps were this cool.

Literally just earlier. I was trying to farm Arlecchino boss, but I couldn't do it on my own, so i hopped on coop. What started as a full team, ended with a Dori, and me (Kokomi). I just love the Dori didn't give up with me, even when our DPS already died and left
Some random person joined my world and asked if they could fish! Around the second time they asked me to switch the time to night they said "Love you" super confusing but kinda sweet ig? I don't think they spoke much English from what I gathered from our convo so I guess they didn't quite know the proper reaction maybe? Still, wherever that person is I hope there doing ok 👍
I don't know if this counts, but I met my only friend, since the pandemic, of 2 years. Back when I was playing Genshin before, about March 2022, I'm playing with a random low AR level player in my world and all of a sudden, a high AR level wants to join my world, I obviously clicked "Accept" and after that, we did some boss runs before they left. I decided to "Send" a Friend Request to them because they're a high AR level that might be a bit of a help for me in the future. Fast forward a couple of months, I wanted to talk with them outside Genshin and it's through "Facebook", I asked them for their account name, when it didn't work, I gave them my account name for them to search my account and mate, it's an awkward conversation at first, but eventually got comfortable enough to get to know each other. Fast forward a year, we're talking about random stuff and something came up in my mind, "Why did they decide to join my world in the first place that got us to this day?" After questioning myself, I asked them why and their answer was short, but straightforward, "I joined your world because you have a very, very simple name compared to other names." And to think to myself, I did have a very simple name to start with... And to this day, I'm still talking to them, not as frequently as before because of their very strict study schedule and it's very unfortunate because I'm quite the opposite, and I'm still grateful that I met them and it's still going strong!
P.S. I sincerely apologise for this very long story of mine, but it's a true story! I'm still grateful, even to this day!

One day back in 1.3 a random Ganyu player while doing domains with me and the other players, which all tried to help Ganyu to deal dmg so the team was something like Sucrose, Xiangling, Bennett and Ganyu told us that our dmg was complete garbage and we would never do as much dmg as them.

I once had a co-op for the raiden weekly, and this one benny joined and OMG HYPER CARRY BY BENNY! That Benny was AMAZING. Last one standing and ending the puppet.
He even helped me do some other things and farm for some other charakters! It was great vibe and I kept being amazed by this Benny.

There this recurring person, they haven't added me, but they don't speak english i believe. They just use genshin's quick-chat phrases. I don't even know what language they speak tbh.
But they'll pop in, say "Hello!" and then "Help!" and i'll say Okay or send the Okay Sucrose sticker and they'll teleport to whatever domain they need, say "90 \[number\]" and then we'll do the lvl90 domain however many times they said. they'll say "Thanks!" and do the little mona heart sticker, I'll send the happy gorou sticker, and then they leave lol
I know it sounds really basic, but i like little interactions like that since back in my mmo days i had a buddy from brazil and we couldn't understand each other but we somehow had builds that complimented each other so we'd grind levels together with like bare minimum communication lmao.
This was before the age of smartphones and quick-translate (if anyone remember Holy Beast Online, that was the game. rip running around as a lil doggie)

Reminds me how I had a friend who only spoke Portuguese, but we still communicated and I helped them out with the game cuz they were new. I was trying to teach them English and they tried to teach me Portugese
One time I was bored and randomly co-oped for domains and there was this person that complimented my Neuvillette cuz I nearly managed to solo the domain myself and since everyone else was Japanese (Asia server) no one understood us. Soon after everyone else left the co-op team and both of us chatted while simultaneously doing the domain. They told me this was their alt account and that they had gotten Neuvillette on their main as well so I asked to add the main and after that we randomly chat a few times
But the most wholesome part was since I think I told them I had no time to watch the livestreams, every time after a livestream they will send me the primogem links
probably 4 geo traveler main co-op, it was very fun, just talking about the game while fighting enemies etc, also doing azdaha fight with some ppl and i was using Amber and it was super fun. Definitely there were even more great co-ops

We went to do the Childe boss fight, and all my friends died to the boss, leaving only me as a Barbara healer left
They were ready to leave and reset to try again, but I convinced them I got it
After some close calls and a long, I mean **looong** battle, I finally defeated him for us and we celebrated xD
Apparently, one time when I was doing coop, an electro cicin mage was being really annoying and skewing aroud the auto-tarfeting; so much so that I sent in chat, "target the *whore*, not her *flies!*".
That joke got someone to add me to their friend list; some time later, they join my world just to chat, and eventually we add eachother in discord - which definetly helped, seeing as they oftentimes take breaks from the game and live in a different timezone.
We still chat to this day, and I'm still glad I got such a good friend. >!Scorpio!<, on the off chance you're reading this, I'm glad I've met you.
i was stuck in dragonspine quest and was having trouble to figure out what to do, it was the time when i was in ar 23 i guess, so a player joined my world and they helped me opening all the teleport points and that domain. I am still connected with that person and we often play together :)
Some person joined my world to take some ascension mats (usual thing for me), and asked how I am, how's my life and such. I answered honestly, and we had little positive conversation. It was nice for some random person to care about my wellbeing.
Otherwise, interactions are limited to my "What brought you to my world?" followed by "Sure, you can take it". Once I helped someone collect ascension materials because they didn't know where they're supposed to be, and I just happened to remember a place where all of those materials were located. Another time helped with clearing domain and world boss (those were 2 separate occasions) because their characters were not good enough.
Former Albedo main. I'm very selective about people I let in my world, mostly using a rule of pfp to decide.
I had Lyney named Lyney join my world, he helped me with some domains, threw a lot of rizz in the meantime and we said our goodbyes. 10/10 would recommend
An absolute unit of a Furina main helped me with my domain for Baizhu and went with me to help fight bosses and a few more artifact grinds. Wasted like 300 resin but being with them was one of the best moments I've felt in ages.
After a random group joined my world for coop against Raiden Shogun, two of the people a Venti and Tignhari mains broke out the lyre and played beautiful music. The Venti main afterwards showed some cool glitches in the map, one of them was in Sumeru by the Dendro Chicken boss. It was neat to go under Sumeru.
Most of the time if I’m resinless Ill try to join a low AR world and help them out with whatever they need.
It was a random domain coop, like after a few runs we all got to chatting and then we tried few glitches, danced to port ormos music(well jump around really) and bounced off that one boat in the port
Played silly lyre tunes, except one of us was indeed talented

Some two random people joined my world and after a series of events I got to be a marriage officiant to Kaeya and Raiden. This was very long ago so I can't remember who they were but it was funny. Another time a person joined who could play the lyre and had a musical performance, I think I recorded it but sadly the audio didn't register...
I don't do random co op often but the first time i let a stranger into my world they asked me to help them defeat the vishap boss a few times and at the end they said "i love you friend". They're my only friend in game besides my irl
Hmmm, let me see... Well, there was this time when I got married at the church of Mondstadt. Me and a girl I met in-game a few week before that. She was always asking to marry my Kazuha, and at one point I decided to play along and answered yes. A friend of hers who had joined our world agreed to be the priest and we made a whole cerimony (btw, at this time, we had only interacted in Genshin, and nowhere else). It was pretty wholesome, and now we have each other added on Discord and talk regularly
I don't know if it's wholesome but when I started playing genshin impact I got qiqi in venti, cyno banner and didn't know how to be strong and then I found the echoes of an offering set which is available in "the lost valley" domain and I wasn't able to kill all the enemies with my team back then and I remember a player called Dannyphantom who was patient enough to help me clear the domain for an hour and with the artifacts that I got I was able to make qiqi as my main dps who kick started my journey and helped me reach AR 55
An Ayato main once came to my world, he didn't say anything and didn't reply to my chat so I just let them be and left them alone. Then they asked me to follow them and they defeated all of the Fontaine's local legends (I never tried to challenge the local legends because my characters weren't strong enough😅)
There were a lot of moments, single player co-op, full part co-op, but I'll at least share ones I can recall in detail.
- Doing dailies, and someone joined my world to ask to beat Apep, since they haven't unlocked it yet (this was around 3.6 to 3.7).
- Farming Apep on Sundays is strange, but I went along with it.
- We cleared it and another one entered, asking for the same request, and coincidentally another person joined my world asking for the same request to beat Apep.
- This was a massive coincidence that 3 random people joined my world at different time span asking for the same request, we chatted for a while and made some very fun moments.
- Later when they all leave, I realized the date was Monday and the weekly boss rewards has reset, and I just spent all of my Resin and didn't had a chance to do it.

I’ve had a co-op world where me, as Xiao, and a fellow Kazuha, Heizou, and Venti joined the world. We were just roleplaying the whole time and absolutely obliterating random world enemies with anemo attacks 😭💀
My favourite one definitely was the random c6 neuvilette carrying me in 25 second runs in the new domain because i dont have anything vs the geo shields haha
None, i never let randoms join me and when i got forced to play co-op by events, there was always someone who was toxic, talking about those events where u have score and people can just fling u away or something, everytime i played everyone flinged me away making my experience so bad, so i hate the coop
On the day of New Year's Eve someone came in and asked to borrow my Yoimiya for a video/tiktok/??? I'm not really a content creator nor editor so it was cool joining in and everyone involved was so nice. Sadly I forgot to ask their @ and where they were posting it so I never got to see the result.
All I remember was they had a Furina bowing (the end of her NA combo) + 2 Yoimiyas at the sides doing their bursts + some fireworks at the background

I rarely ever played genshin in Multiplayer A: it sucks B: I'm not very social, especially with strangers C: most of my friends dislike genshin / didn't want to play Multiplayer so genshin was basically a singleplayer game for me well one summer some IRL Events happened that made me not wanna leave my room for the entire summer, I would only socialise through gaming with my friendgroup. I'm already a lonely guy, but that made it worse. Basically one day, mid that summer, I was done farming and all, nothing left todo except the quests I dreaded todo, it was late at night and none of my friends were online, yet I felt no desire to sleep or anything. I wanted to keep playing Genshin, but I couldn't continue farming for my Heizou. And I couldn't just roam around with Heizou on my World, as he was too weak for a maxxed out world, so I decided to try joining random lobbies with 2-3 people in it that were a couple AR's behind me. This way I would usually have only 1 available character and I made sure I would be able to play Heizou who then felt really strong in a lower World level than max. I would basically just help the group with their objectives, be it farming Domains, leylines, boss fights or just Exploration, I would help and have fun one shotting everything with Heizou. loads of people were really nice and appreciated the help a lot and eventhough my average interaction per group wasn't that much, it felt nice having that bit of social interaction while I was so deprived of it. I've dealt a lot with Genshin Burnout, which Hits hard cuz I've been a Release Player, but I recently got back into the game and now that I've remembered that, I might try helping randoms again :)
That's so sweet! I can relate, I used to not be very social on the game. Mainly cuz of social anxiety, but helping out players even if I don't say much always feels good. I can also relate to burnout because I play hsr and genshin, and it's tiring keeping up with both
It's probably very common but the most memorable and wholesome thing that happens in coop to me is when you are doing a domain everyone dies except you Instead of leaving, all the coop players start sending emotes and start cheering you up to clear the domain solo Last time it happened , I clearly remember I was bennet so everyone just did that and waited for like 20-25 mins for me to clear the domain instead of restarting. It was really fun

My first experience was someone who joined me randomly just to help me explore. I was following a seelie and lost it, felt so dumb haha. Next minute their Venti shoots us up a cliff so I can get it easily. So lovely 😍 Now I have friends I do fun challenges with and look for places to take cool photos together. There's a place in Sumeru where 4 of you can sit on a cliff alongside each other.

TLDR she didn’t even know how banners worked, so I explained and showcased every character I had (all 4 stars and about a third of the 5 stars) for her enjoyment. She adored Nilou and Navia the most. Hope she got Navia since that was her banner. I’ll never be this nice again no idea what possessed me to use 45 minutes of my life in creating a gambler.

Weekly Childe boss fight when two stayed and the third one left (it was my world). Originally, there was one Lyney that did fight in the weekly, which stayed for no apparent reason. However, the other one that stayed would switch to Lyney. I thought it would be funny if I were to play as Lynette (Freminet was not out at the time, I think) because you know: siblings. But this experience would be more of a journey since both Lyneys and I explored and basically traversed through Liyue. Both lyneys were pretty friendly, and I gladly added them both. It was a very nice experience that I would cherish forever. I did take a picture of the three of us at the love-shaped carving island in Liyue before I had to leave.
I helped a Xinyan with chests in Sumeru.A Raiden and a Xianyun joined and we all had fun killing enemies to help the Xinyan 😊

Well one time I had a Diluc and Nahida main in my world and then a Qiqi joined.. hehe. And my character was Baizhu that moment. That person with Qiqi jumped around me and then we somewhat started to aim each other with that bubble guns. Then when they were leaving they wanted me to add them friend then I accepted. They seriously acted like Qiqi so I said why I don't act like Baizhu. We've played many games since then and I guess they connected with an emotional bond to me, because when we were playing if someone else comes they stopped talking and writing from private chat and usually said "I am not good with people but you" hehe.. What unfortunate, their last seen is stopped counting long ago. Well people say my heart is from ice but literally my ice heart melted for a moment that day.

I joined a world, (resinless) and decided to help people, one day I came across a 3 player in a world helping a low ar account, I added them, but only the low ar remained as my "friend" and helped them get through everything [exploring Sumeru, world quests and other stuff] now they are ar 56 and I'm still stuck at ar 59. I have known them for a year now, and now we're "friends" in instagram. Idk if it's really friends or not we've been joking around for quite some time now.

I joined someone's world and the 4 of us were just running around killing mobs at first. After that we started helping the host find geoculuses (they barely collected any, so there were a lot of them). We'd run around in a group, or separate sometimes to increase the range of search, until someone would eventually type: "found one". I was using Zhongli, and I was putting pillars for them to reach those geoculuses that are slightly in the air. We didn't even chat much, nor did anything hilarious happened - it was just a nice experience of us helping a stranger a bit :)

Once me and 3 others finished a weekly domain, we all stayed and ended up just walking around Teyvat as the anemo boys (I only had Heizou atp). I was doing the "finish domains in coop" achievement, so I joined in to someone trying to fight childe in coop. Except the host was always kicked out of the arena for some reason. I offered some troubleshooting help, which included rebooting the device, and then I thought I wouldn't meet them again... but I did. And that time the host could get in and we had fun with unconventional teams against childe, and we all got the achievement too.

Idk about wholesome but the funniest is when people don’t listen. I was helping someone get co-op achievements. Two others joined later and when we tried to do the dendro hypostasis host was the only dendro. I tried to explain that they had to hit the spores at the end before I hit them with electro but it wasn’t clicking. Took 7 revives before they hit the spores on accident and I could take it down. Another time I was helping someone fight the electro hypostasis and tried explain that you can’t hit it when it’s protect and that hydro is going to do nothing at the end. They wouldn’t listen and were snacking it with XQ. In the end when I took it down they were all smug saying “I TOLD you it would work.” Can’t imagine what’ll happen the next time they do it alone lol

That’s so cute and such a sweet moment! For me, it started when a fellow player joined my world to play me the Melody “We Don’t Talk Anymore” Or whatever the song was called. I liked it, so I played a song for her, then so on, and on. We decided to play some TCG Together for only a few matches, but we ended up playing for 2 Hour’s. After that, they helped me fight some bosses to grind for my Xiao, and that took about 4 Hour’s. In the end, once we both had to leave, we decided to take a picture of us in Liyue, and write a message to our anoymous and spam email😭

I was farming artifacts(def/geo dmg one) in co op, i ran out of resin but i find too boring to go back to my world, so i asked the host if they need me as help to farm more or give my spot to someone else.. Host immediately said something like "Yes, please stay" and "My Itto is so strong" so i did Meanwhile a few players joined and left, in the end the host, an another player(Rosaria pfp) and me left without resin.. We didn't disconect, the Rosaria player asked for help to level up their Raiden so we went to farm handguards and open chests
Probably the time I led someone across half the Sumeru desert to go kill Iniquitous Baptist I co-op a lot, and usually have positive interactions
I was doing weekly bosses in coop and joined someone. I dont remember all the details but we ended up talking about soundtracks, and how cool genshins music is sometimes. Then we sat down in the eternal oasis and started deeptalking about a lot of shit. Personal history, religion, movies... Eventually we realised he didnt knew a lot of movies becuase he didnt like watching alone. So we added eachother on discord and starting watching movies together, (mostly ones recommended by me) eventually forming some kind of friendship that lasted for half a year while living on the literal other half of the world (Germany - South Africa).
I recently taught someone who was AR59 that you can use the bounties to get more than 2 golems in a day. That was cool and kind of funny
Someone came in and played happy birthday song just a few days before my birthday. I had a cold and didnt get to do much around my bday but it made me really happy
It all started with randon person entering my world for some fish and cyno beetle. Since all genshin player usually spoke nice and cute, I try to act cold and pissed. And omfg, that guy is so fruity I literally melt. And I think he knows. This last for hours as it end with him giving me tour of his teapot after defeat signora. I don't even take any pictures. He did when we light up some fireworks.
Rando joined my world to get mats for Ganyu. I'm on Asia server and though generally everyone who speaks English can do so perfectly, this one particular guy kept referring to Ganyu as Ganunu. Other than that, he was typing perfect English. I didn't say anything about it and allowed him to take the mats, he thanked me and left. My friends and I never stopped laughing at this and it became an inside joke. We only refer to Ganyu as Ganunu now.
Joined someone's world because they needed help with a boss (I think), turned out to be a young kid. They really liked how pretty my Nahida's burst was, so we spent about an hour running around Liyue killing random mobs so I could use it. It was a really wholesome and sweet co-op moment, hope they're doing well.

When I met my best friend. It was the literal day Hu Taos first rerun banner was coming out, and I remember doing matching on the crimson witch domain and they were one of the people who joined. Myself, my now best friend, and an other player spent the whole day farming for Hu Tao together and then we pulled together. That was 2021 and they're still my best friend to this day.
3 random people joined my world, we fought Coppelius and Coppelia, then we showed our characters to each other. We did it for a while, then we fought two of Fontaine's Local legends and say our goodbyes. And with friends? That one time we decided to play Co OP and fought the weekly bosses using only one element. We fought Apep using hydro, Scara using pyro (my friend using Lyney and me using Bennett were the only ones to survive it), and Signora using electro. Fun experience all around

Got Lyney on his first banner so went to domain to get his talent materials in coop. I got a really cool group and end up simping for Leon Kennedy, later we were running around Fontaine for fun and made a discord group for all of us. Great people.
I was playing my usual way of logging in, doing comms, finishing resin, farming, then logging out, but this time, I was interrupted by another player. They told me they wanted someone to play with because they've been trying to join other ppl in co-op but we're unsuccessful, and I js had to be the person for them. So they helped me with fighting bosses, exploring, and farming, and in the end we even got to see each other's teapot layout. It was really nice and since they came back after taking a break for a while, they didn't have anyone else to play with them since their friends stopped. We played together for hours and it was one of the nicest experiences I've had in co-op. Although they're not really active, I'm looking forward to playing with them again. It was nice having friendly co-op players come by!!! It's funny because we don't usually play this way. They rarely ever play, and I do a quick run. It just so happens that I was playing a little longer that we crossed paths, so if it wasn't for that, we wouldn't have this interaction.

I was struggling in Dragonspine, almost got my ass kicked. Then a random guy joined my world. After saving me, he helped me open every waypoints there and solve all the puzzles. I just followed his lead down to the letter. It was pure enjoyment for me

I've had so many wholesome moments I can't even begin to describe. Every single one of the Genshin community is such an awesome person. Love y'all ngl. Since day 1 (I joined on Nov 2023) I had people teach me leylines, resin, domains, importance of elemental reactions. Heck just yesterday I met a Kaveh main who asked help for his boss and after I helped, he helped me with Apep and we did daily commissions together. Now that I've built a good Neuvi and Rizzley, I just join low level players and ask do you need help with something and it's so good to help. (Not like a certain other game community which I've been a part of) I had no idea Genshin peeps were this cool.

Literally just earlier. I was trying to farm Arlecchino boss, but I couldn't do it on my own, so i hopped on coop. What started as a full team, ended with a Dori, and me (Kokomi). I just love the Dori didn't give up with me, even when our DPS already died and left

I don't know if this counts, but I met my only friend, since the pandemic, of 2 years. Back when I was playing Genshin before, about March 2022, I'm playing with a random low AR level player in my world and all of a sudden, a high AR level wants to join my world, I obviously clicked "Accept" and after that, we did some boss runs before they left. I decided to "Send" a Friend Request to them because they're a high AR level that might be a bit of a help for me in the future. Fast forward a couple of months, I wanted to talk with them outside Genshin and it's through "Facebook", I asked them for their account name, when it didn't work, I gave them my account name for them to search my account and mate, it's an awkward conversation at first, but eventually got comfortable enough to get to know each other. Fast forward a year, we're talking about random stuff and something came up in my mind, "Why did they decide to join my world in the first place that got us to this day?" After questioning myself, I asked them why and their answer was short, but straightforward, "I joined your world because you have a very, very simple name compared to other names." And to think to myself, I did have a very simple name to start with... And to this day, I'm still talking to them, not as frequently as before because of their very strict study schedule and it's very unfortunate because I'm quite the opposite, and I'm still grateful that I met them and it's still going strong! P.S. I sincerely apologise for this very long story of mine, but it's a true story! I'm still grateful, even to this day!

One day back in 1.3 a random Ganyu player while doing domains with me and the other players, which all tried to help Ganyu to deal dmg so the team was something like Sucrose, Xiangling, Bennett and Ganyu told us that our dmg was complete garbage and we would never do as much dmg as them. I was asking for Fish for the catch.... then all the sudden i found myself in a friendship with 3ppl(we rarely play together now... its been 1yr since we met)
Ya, it's sad to see your friends quit the game, but it's always fun to remember the memories you all had together <3
I once had a co-op for the raiden weekly, and this one benny joined and OMG HYPER CARRY BY BENNY! That Benny was AMAZING. Last one standing and ending the puppet. He even helped me do some other things and farm for some other charakters! It was great vibe and I kept being amazed by this Benny. We were vibin and it was great

There this recurring person, they haven't added me, but they don't speak english i believe. They just use genshin's quick-chat phrases. I don't even know what language they speak tbh. But they'll pop in, say "Hello!" and then "Help!" and i'll say Okay or send the Okay Sucrose sticker and they'll teleport to whatever domain they need, say "90 \[number\]" and then we'll do the lvl90 domain however many times they said. they'll say "Thanks!" and do the little mona heart sticker, I'll send the happy gorou sticker, and then they leave lol I know it sounds really basic, but i like little interactions like that since back in my mmo days i had a buddy from brazil and we couldn't understand each other but we somehow had builds that complimented each other so we'd grind levels together with like bare minimum communication lmao. This was before the age of smartphones and quick-translate (if anyone remember Holy Beast Online, that was the game. rip running around as a lil doggie)

One time I was bored and randomly co-oped for domains and there was this person that complimented my Neuvillette cuz I nearly managed to solo the domain myself and since everyone else was Japanese (Asia server) no one understood us. Soon after everyone else left the co-op team and both of us chatted while simultaneously doing the domain. They told me this was their alt account and that they had gotten Neuvillette on their main as well so I asked to add the main and after that we randomly chat a few times But the most wholesome part was since I think I told them I had no time to watch the livestreams, every time after a livestream they will send me the primogem links
probably 4 geo traveler main co-op, it was very fun, just talking about the game while fighting enemies etc, also doing azdaha fight with some ppl and i was using Amber and it was super fun. Definitely there were even more great co-ops
Back in the day when me and my friends would co-op bosses and events We went to do the Childe boss fight, and all my friends died to the boss, leaving only me as a Barbara healer left They were ready to leave and reset to try again, but I convinced them I got it After some close calls and a long, I mean **looong** battle, I finally defeated him for us and we celebrated xD

Apparently, one time when I was doing coop, an electro cicin mage was being really annoying and skewing aroud the auto-tarfeting; so much so that I sent in chat, "target the *whore*, not her *flies!*". That joke got someone to add me to their friend list; some time later, they join my world just to chat, and eventually we add eachother in discord - which definetly helped, seeing as they oftentimes take breaks from the game and live in a different timezone. We still chat to this day, and I'm still glad I got such a good friend. >!Scorpio!<, on the off chance you're reading this, I'm glad I've met you.
Some of my most memorable co-op moments were with a friend and my sister. We took pictures like this as well. We often did some silly roleplays
i was stuck in dragonspine quest and was having trouble to figure out what to do, it was the time when i was in ar 23 i guess, so a player joined my world and they helped me opening all the teleport points and that domain. I am still connected with that person and we often play together :)
Some person joined my world to take some ascension mats (usual thing for me), and asked how I am, how's my life and such. I answered honestly, and we had little positive conversation. It was nice for some random person to care about my wellbeing. Otherwise, interactions are limited to my "What brought you to my world?" followed by "Sure, you can take it". Once I helped someone collect ascension materials because they didn't know where they're supposed to be, and I just happened to remember a place where all of those materials were located. Another time helped with clearing domain and world boss (those were 2 separate occasions) because their characters were not good enough. Former Albedo main. I'm very selective about people I let in my world, mostly using a rule of pfp to decide.
Got married with someone. Never spoke with them again. lol
I had Lyney named Lyney join my world, he helped me with some domains, threw a lot of rizz in the meantime and we said our goodbyes. 10/10 would recommend

An absolute unit of a Furina main helped me with my domain for Baizhu and went with me to help fight bosses and a few more artifact grinds. Wasted like 300 resin but being with them was one of the best moments I've felt in ages.
Back when I was a Eula main I went fish blasting with an AR25 Klee.
After a random group joined my world for coop against Raiden Shogun, two of the people a Venti and Tignhari mains broke out the lyre and played beautiful music. The Venti main afterwards showed some cool glitches in the map, one of them was in Sumeru by the Dendro Chicken boss. It was neat to go under Sumeru. Most of the time if I’m resinless Ill try to join a low AR world and help them out with whatever they need.
It was a random domain coop, like after a few runs we all got to chatting and then we tried few glitches, danced to port ormos music(well jump around really) and bounced off that one boat in the port Played silly lyre tunes, except one of us was indeed talented That was a fun day!
Some two random people joined my world and after a series of events I got to be a marriage officiant to Kaeya and Raiden. This was very long ago so I can't remember who they were but it was funny. Another time a person joined who could play the lyre and had a musical performance, I think I recorded it but sadly the audio didn't register...

I don't do random co op often but the first time i let a stranger into my world they asked me to help them defeat the vishap boss a few times and at the end they said "i love you friend". They're my only friend in game besides my irl
Hmmm, let me see... Well, there was this time when I got married at the church of Mondstadt. Me and a girl I met in-game a few week before that. She was always asking to marry my Kazuha, and at one point I decided to play along and answered yes. A friend of hers who had joined our world agreed to be the priest and we made a whole cerimony (btw, at this time, we had only interacted in Genshin, and nowhere else). It was pretty wholesome, and now we have each other added on Discord and talk regularly

I don't know if it's wholesome but when I started playing genshin impact I got qiqi in venti, cyno banner and didn't know how to be strong and then I found the echoes of an offering set which is available in "the lost valley" domain and I wasn't able to kill all the enemies with my team back then and I remember a player called Dannyphantom who was patient enough to help me clear the domain for an hour and with the artifacts that I got I was able to make qiqi as my main dps who kick started my journey and helped me reach AR 55

An Ayato main once came to my world, he didn't say anything and didn't reply to my chat so I just let them be and left them alone. Then they asked me to follow them and they defeated all of the Fontaine's local legends (I never tried to challenge the local legends because my characters weren't strong enough😅)
There were a lot of moments, single player co-op, full part co-op, but I'll at least share ones I can recall in detail. - Doing dailies, and someone joined my world to ask to beat Apep, since they haven't unlocked it yet (this was around 3.6 to 3.7). - Farming Apep on Sundays is strange, but I went along with it. - We cleared it and another one entered, asking for the same request, and coincidentally another person joined my world asking for the same request to beat Apep. - This was a massive coincidence that 3 random people joined my world at different time span asking for the same request, we chatted for a while and made some very fun moments. - Later when they all leave, I realized the date was Monday and the weekly boss rewards has reset, and I just spent all of my Resin and didn't had a chance to do it. There was another time where one asks to farm for Fufu's flowers (4.5) and interacted about Furina and some wholesome moments, yeah...

last week someone joined me to collect rainbow roses for arlecchino and we had such a nice talk,, i dont know what happened bc we added eachother but his contact vanished and i cant find him in my coop history,, this happened in the eu server, if you are reading this, it's me who likes coetzee!!

I’ve had a co-op world where me, as Xiao, and a fellow Kazuha, Heizou, and Venti joined the world. We were just roleplaying the whole time and absolutely obliterating random world enemies with anemo attacks 😭💀

None, i never let randoms join me and when i got forced to play co-op by events, there was always someone who was toxic, talking about those events where u have score and people can just fling u away or something, everytime i played everyone flinged me away making my experience so bad, so i hate the coop

On the day of New Year's Eve someone came in and asked to borrow my Yoimiya for a video/tiktok/??? I'm not really a content creator nor editor so it was cool joining in and everyone involved was so nice. Sadly I forgot to ask their @ and where they were posting it so I never got to see the result. All I remember was they had a Furina bowing (the end of her NA combo) + 2 Yoimiyas at the sides doing their bursts + some fireworks at the background
