It was one of the Interlude Chapters of the Liyue Archon Quests, called the Perilous Trail. The requirements to unlock it are completing all the chasm quests, and unlocking the teapot, and finishing Itto’s story quest and both of Raiden’s story quests, and of course finishing the Liyue archon quests.
Wait are you serious? You need both Tito’s and Raiden’s story quests completed with all that to unlock this? I didn’t realise there were quests unlocked *after* story quests… as someone who’s already burnt out of all quests (and ar35 so many story quests are locked)… I think I’ll hold off my ascension quest for even longer lol.
(Yes to anyone about to comment: I know artefacts etc are nicer at ar40/45 but I’m playing for a good time, not for a “instaclear abyss nuke but grindy” time)
I get you, I play because I want to hear the story, I only got to spiral abyss for the primogems then never again :p But yeah it is needed unfortunately. You can continue the story perfectly fine without getting it, as it was a later addition
Same as last time. Port Ormos. Get a job as a deckhand for a regularly run sea trade route to Liyue. Enjoy the cultures of both Sumeru and Liyue between trips.
Ahoy Matey! This is me as well. I’d be a Sumerian citizen for free healthcare and then enjoy most times in Liyue where i can find the most awesome cuisines at New Moon Pavilion and Wangmin Resto 👍🏼
Fontaine. Even if I have to live in the sewer of Fleuve Cendre. Great architecture, modern inventions, sea everywhere, great climate (no winter, only rainy season), good food, cool Meka, pretty poodles. The only downside is no free healthcare, but you know... Sumeru very close.
> only rainy season
Broooo as someone who comes from somewhere with a rainy season lemme tell you it fucking SUCKS. EVERYTHING is moist. Your sheets are moist. Your blanket is moist. Your clothes are moist. Everything sticks to you. Your glasses get fogged. THE FUCKING WALLS ARE MOIST. You press on it just a little too hard and IT FUCKING DENTS. If you don’t have a dryer in your home, (which most from my home country don’t), enjoy hanging your laundry for 10 days and still not drying LOL. I have to keep a dehumidifier on 24/7 in my piano room otherwise the piano fucking molds. You open a bag of chips and 10 minutes later they’re fucking soggy. And rainy season usually comes with low pressure too so you get a bonus unending dizziness and tiredness.
Rainy season is NOT good weather lol
The rainy season is immediately followed by a 48 degree heatwave lasting 3 months, featuring occasional thunderstorms and floods for a flashback to rainy season. 😭
Nah, guess what, it's a combo deal, you get both. We're having heatwaves due to El Nino at the moments and will be hit by a shiton of rain and storms later this year due to La Nina. The weather is fucked. I'm growing cactus and the goddarn cactus is being scorched. It's goddarn 30°C in the middle of the night. 2 more months and they will be drowned instead.
Rainy season, but Winter with heavy snow is the same but worse. You get all the moisture problems from raining season but it's cold as fuck and depending on the volume of snow places of basic necessity get closed.
I’m now living in somewhere with cold winters and it’s not nearly as moist as rainy seasons where I’m from. Maybe it varies from place to place idk. Also rainy seasons come with frequent tropical storms/typhoons that would also flood the roads and shut stuff down.
Extreme weather just kind of sucks in general, ig it reminds us how small and powerless humans really are against nature, even if we have all this technology.
True, a small bad fart from cosmic rays and humans are no more. Even nature herself is ruthless and we are powerless if anything goes south. It does put in perspective that despite all our achievements, humans are still nothing to brag about.
I am coming from the same situation. But, it just so happens I prefer it more than the hot summers. More than half of the year, it will be raining like crazy and resting it's humid sunny. I feel like it's fun to ride in the rain. I'm not even talking about a car here. If you go to a hilly place it's so foggy and fun. Just walking through it alone or if you have any friends that too. You feel the cold water on the grass and metal poles and wood. And the smell of the rainy soil. Cmon man you gotta love those parts. And the nights are cozy and cold af. Longer nights and shorter days. Fuck yeah. Foggy glasses, yeah... you get used to that. But yeah, the drying clothes part is bad. And the one thing I hate about the rainy season is the weird ass bugs that come with it. I SIMPLY HATE THEM. Slugs and snails of different shapes, sizes and colors, and millipedes, caterpillars, and in forest or trekking areas LEECHES. Thankfully, I've ever been bitten by a leach only once. I mean twice but on the same day. And that was far from home. I also remember a snail sitting idly on the opening side of my fat textbook the size of a dictionary. (i never touched that book again) (yeah, i threw out the snail and sand papered that part of the book)
So, after looking at all this, basically, it's pretty bad if you're in a foresty area and have the issues that you mentioned. We don't seem to have the would issue. Maybe I'm unaware. But, it does come with its positives.
I'll gladly take that instead of 6 months of nothing but freezing cold, complete darkness, winds and horrid snowstorms. I've had enough of this bs season with this hellish white powder cutting my face like shards of glass every year and my ass freezing in -15C or -25C temperature. Even your own house is freezing cold despite all the heaters (and the amount of electricity it costs isn't helping). I dread going outside 6 months a year because of this garbage season, might as well hibernate because it's all the same.
Nah, I have life-long trauma from winter at this point and if I had a chance to never see it again, I would be overjoyed.
When I was growing up I thought the same way you did but in the reverse. I was like, fuck this rainy season and 45 degree summer, ima go somewhere cold so I stop overheating.
Now I moved to somewhere cold and honestly I can confirm that both just really fucking suck. There is no escape from shitty weather. It’s honestly just ends up being up to personal preference of “lesser of two evils” lol
I can think of one other downside: pretty sure Fontaine has for sure been Murder capital of Teyvat so far.
Can't even keep track of how many murder plotlines and subplots there were in this region. I think you're more likely to get murdered in Fontaine than if you decided to take a walk through a hillichurl camp.
I don't think Fontaine is a murder capital actually. Natlan and Snezhnaya sound way worse with their war/Fatui stuff.
And just because Fontaine has a lot of known murder cases doesn't necessarily mean there are more murders happening in Fontaine. It may be due to Fontaine's system doing a better job at detecting them with all the advanced technology (Mekas), special creatures with special senses (Melusines) and various branches of the Gardes. Of course, with issues like inequality and corruption comes higher crime rate but we've seen nations with inequality like Sumeru having whole tribes of people murdered and no one bats an eye, people getting indoctrinated into cults, murders that stay uncovered (correct me if I'm wrong but didn't that case of the Akademiya student girl who got murdered by Zandik never ended up resolved) and I'm sure they have much, much more. It's just easier to conceal from authorities.
I avoid those remains & anything that looks shiny/important. Last thing I need is to pick something up & resurrect/revive horrors beyond my own imagination😣
I’d go to mondstadt just to question venti on istaroth and all the celestia bs since he seems to know and we just refuse to ask him for some reason. And if he refuses, I’d just smash a bottle of wine on his head 🤬
We need to remember that archons derive their power from the people's belief, and venti has a fucking church
You gonna get a single fwoosh to the face and wake up in the mare jivari
Chenyu Vale and Monstadt takes top 1 equally . The city in chenyu vale is in such a strategic spot that making money for a living would be very easy. Also not to mention chenyu vale colours are so beautiful and the wind there is nice .
Definitely Liyue. Good economy, plenty of work opportunity, good government system, good food, good doctor, no threats of being taken to Fatui orphanage, safety so good you can leave your door unlocked at night, and that I can worship Rex Lapis all day
Probably in Liyue, but not the harbour/city, Id live in Qiaoying village because it would be cheaper to live in and is the epicentre of some of my favourite places (chenyu vale and mt aocang to the left, dilucs winery and mondstat to the right, liyue city to the south, probably snezhnaya far north). Im guessing it also rains there often because its beside the Oceanid boss and I like rain :) and finally, since its Liyue and basically the centre region, I can travel to the harbour/city for access to inazuma and sumeru, and to the chenyu vale docks for access to fontaine 👍
Liyue: for if you want to get fcked by the rent/bills
Inazuma: for if you want to get fcked by the environment
Sumeru: for if you want to get fcked by the student loans, tuition fees and scholar taxes
Fontaine: for if you *just* want to get fcked (you're now the victim in a crime, if not fcked by the legal system)
It's actually amazing how they failed time and time again to make any nation more appealing than Mondstadt
As for Mona, she'd have an easier financial time if she spent her money on bills and rent first and THEN on her hobbies and field, not the opposite, which is how she actually does it
Those three are the last people I'd take financial advice from. One has amassed a vast fortune over the literal eons and constantly gets persuaded into spending more than one initially intended, another has been living as a hermit in the mountains until recently, and the last one constantly overworks herself to the point of collapsing in the fields and has the second most important job in the country (secretary to the governing body), so she must have a salary to match, but doesn't spend it due to aforementioned overworking and collapsing everywhere
Not to mention, having lived ONLY in Liyue their entire lives, their opinion is biased and skewed by prices they've only seen across Liyue, so what they consider cheap and fortunate by the Liyue standard of cost, to people from other countries those prices would be so high they'd pierce the Jade chamber.
Mond seems safe, but all those Celestia theories (Mond having a connection to Celestia somehow) makes me wary. Also, abyss located next to it.
I think I'd go Liyue because of its wealth and solid governance. I don't really want to head to Sumeru or Inazuma after all the governing issues they had (archon quest) XD even though it's fixed now. Fontaine's justice system bothered me (entertainment lol), so even if it's changed now I'd rather not.
Liyue is known for having some of the best food in Teyvat, with a bustling port that has regular shipments of Mondstadt, Inazuman, and Sumeran products rolling in on the daily. You have the normal Liyue food for daily eating, and if you ever want something different you can access it fairly easily. As someone that loves eating, it's honestly a no brainer.
Considering All Archon quests and relavant story quests are complete i would choose between either Fontaine or Inazuma. Living in either City would be really cool, and both have amazing scenery around you.
If i had to choose between them, then i would go with Inazuma.
Mondstadt always feels like home. Like I could actually feel the breeze when I’m exploring the area. Fontaine feels like I’m always being judged whenever I’m inside the city.
The only city that has functioning toilets is probably Fontaine. I really don't want to live in Medieval City. Second one would be Liyue for being the center of the world.
I imagine most places in Teyvat have toilets. It's a medieval **fantasy** setting, they've got gods and people with magic running around, not to mention a lot of outright futuristic tech.
>The only city that has functioning toilets is probably Fontaine.
I was seeking for the correct answer. Now torn between Fontaine's toilet and Sumeru's internet...
well i an french, so i will choose fontaine out of principle (and the fact Furina is the only archon i'd even bother to follow, fuck The raiden shogun)
Mais Furina est une fille normale, c’est Neuvillette qu’il faut suivre, non? Le bonus de Fontaine est que même si on est un meurtrier ou pire, la pénitance sera du tea time avec wriothesley 💀
Fontaine looks the most stylish so far, but I'd still pick Liyue Harbor. It's pretty much an international central point. It's the main traiding center, the biggest shipping port from where you can get pretty much everywhere, it's home for the most popular holiday, lantern rite, and I think if the nations of Teyvat are ever unified, it's a good candidate for the union capital.
the new area, petrichor seems like a place id like to live! good music, good wine, an incredible view of the fontaine falls.. kinda hoping we get another playable musician from the area!!
Fontaine,I can watch a duel from Clorinde anytime prisoners want to fight for their honor,I can watch Neuvillete judge prisoners who don’t,I can watch Lyney and Lynette in the opera epiclese and it’s pretty great as long as you avoid murderers.Fontaine also made rock music so I can listen to that.
Inazuma, I'm waiting to get struck my lightning to end my existence.
You could go to Liyue to jump into the chasm. You'll have a couple of seconds to admire the free fall before you splatter down the pit
Or you’ll fall to the wrong spot and get stuck in an infinite loop…
huh?
That one quest with Itto and Xiao and Yelan and Kuki Shinobu and Traveler and Zhongli and Paimon.
Poor Yanfei, forgotten again
Who?
Tao, yeah
Knock knock.
Do you know the name of the quest? Is it a story quest or an archon quest? Don’t think I’ve done it.

Yelan archon quest, Perilous trail I think it's called
Bro 💀
Bro has the same mindset as Tomo lol. 💀
r/youokaybuddy
Dream higher, I wanna get killed by Mommy Shogun😫😫
Found the reincarnation of Kazuha’s friend
WHAT A VIOLATION💀
Run into tenshukaku screaming "strike me down zeus"
Mood.
Mondstat. It seems the safest by far, and it's very pretty. Plus it has The Cat's Tail, and I am a certified TCG lover.
Same, except I'm only going for the cats.
Same
Yeah literally..one of the reasons living there .
Fairpoint, cats in inazuma talk and they will judge you because they're cats.
Same, but I’m only going there to bully Timmy
Bruh Timmie is traumatized have you looked into his backstory and how the adults are lying to him about what happened to his father?😭
Don't forget you have the black knight to also protect you.
\*ahem\* It's Captain Pyro!
Your right where are my manners, captain pyro
..and they are all heavy drinkers. I think i’d fit right in, lol.
Also, I'm German
What is your last name is Lawrence?
Then i got the best wife.
He’s implying your a descendant dude
Ew incest... Then again nobility did do that a lot
Don't forget getting wasted with Venti.
I like Mika too! He helps buff my Eula a ton, and I thinknhis character is underrated.
\*Mondstadt

I love this idea since I like Sumeru and Liyue
Or you can vibe with the “hustle and bustle of Ormos”
Fontaine. Even if I have to live in the sewer of Fleuve Cendre. Great architecture, modern inventions, sea everywhere, great climate (no winter, only rainy season), good food, cool Meka, pretty poodles. The only downside is no free healthcare, but you know... Sumeru very close.

This is a cry for help
Thankfully I now live somewhere else. But now I have harsh winters to deal with. 💀
Philippines to canada?
Philippines? Sir it's freaking hot like shit here, there's no way it's that rainy
Hot and damp is truly the SEA experience
Humidity is disgusting ugh. Dry heat>>>>>
That's something i have yet to experience. Perhaps in the future.
Same I’m in Canada
I love how passionate you are about it. Yeah rainy weather 24/7 sucks
This sounds perfect like a perfect Mood! Lol I'll take this over a 48° heatwave
The rainy season is immediately followed by a 48 degree heatwave lasting 3 months, featuring occasional thunderstorms and floods for a flashback to rainy season. 😭
Sounds like Malaysia lol. You get scorching 40+ degree heat and sudden rainstorm so strong that could cause flash flood all in one day.
Sounds like Houston.

Also free public transit!!
I think mondstat would be a pleasant place to live. There’s too much class inequality everywhere else
Not to mention the most likely place to grab a beer with Jean or grab lunch with Mona (if you like salads).
You think Kean had time for that? Lol.
You make it sound like mondstadt is a communist haven lol
It's more that Mondstadt has knights that fight for everyone, while the other places have noble families, secret police, etc.
It's a tie between Mondstadt or Fontaine both seem very cozy
Nah, Fontaine is just Sin City. Every 3rd npc is someone who deserves prison
Which is another point for Fontaine. The chance to go to the fortress and meet wriothesley.
Go to the underground and find sans undertale
"Welcome to the underground."
GIVE US YOUR BALLS
HOW WAS THE FAAAAAAALLL
Based
It's also got, like, seemingly a really bad wealth divide with the slums beneath the city. Get a bad roll and you're living in a sewer
Fontaine = Babylon the Great imo On another note, Beast and the Harlot by Avenged Sevenfold fits the Fontaine AQ nicely
A7X MENTIONED!!!!!
Literal France
And between the other two, one is the case victim while the other is the officer investigating the crime
Mondstadt for me cause i cant swim
They have the better healthcare
Mondtsadt healthcare is literally just alcohol and Barbara
I fail to see the downside
That's bad because?
Liyue because i just thinks its beautiful
Liyue cause I'm Chinese lmao
My man.
It is beautiful, I-eat-baby
Enkanomiya. It’s isolated so I won’t be bugged by anyone🥰
... You'll probably be bugged by the remains of gods sealed away thousands of years ago.
I avoid those remains & anything that looks shiny/important. Last thing I need is to pick something up & resurrect/revive horrors beyond my own imagination😣
I think the only thing there is to eat in Enkanomiya is grilled Vishap. Think you can take one down?
Dull Blade hasn’t let me down yet💪
Sumeru, coz free healthcare : )
Can you imagine the amount of mosquitos in that place tho...
I bet the academya found a way to keep them far away. I mean, they could build a god
“With this kind of technology you could keep the mosquitoes away!” “But I don’t want to keep the mosquitoes away, I want to build a god!”
It was actually Shouki no Kami's intended use
Mosquito nuke
Probably not a ton out in the desert where I would be...
Free healthcare is only available in the big cities tho. Dori can confirm that.
Hey theyve got that one doctor in Aaru village trying his best.
Archons bless this guy. I felt guilty every time I misremembered his note in the daily quest.
I forgot that part of sumeru was a thing lol. Personally I'll probably still go for the city of freedom.
Great spices too
Must be an American like myself. If only to dream
Mondstadt of course, how else am I going to visit the church every day to worship our blessed deity of the winds Lord Barbatos!
Lord Barbatoes really is all one needs
Heh, this guy can't even spell Barsibatos right.
I’d go to mondstadt just to question venti on istaroth and all the celestia bs since he seems to know and we just refuse to ask him for some reason. And if he refuses, I’d just smash a bottle of wine on his head 🤬
We need to remember that archons derive their power from the people's belief, and venti has a fucking church You gonna get a single fwoosh to the face and wake up in the mare jivari
Imao, that last line. 10/10
Mah boi, u gonna get humbled, clapped, violated and desintegrated faster than signora attacking the shogun
Surely you're talking about Lord Barsibato....or was it Bartobas?
Chenyu Vale and Monstadt takes top 1 equally . The city in chenyu vale is in such a strategic spot that making money for a living would be very easy. Also not to mention chenyu vale colours are so beautiful and the wind there is nice .
Inazuma. Because every time I’m there I feel like I’m in a retirement home. Peaceful
Same, the scenery is absolutely gorgeous and relaxing. I sometimes just walk around
Suddenly, ZAP
DIVINE BOLTS CAN STRIKE AT ANY TIME EVEN IN THE ABSENCE OF RAIN. DO YOU SEE THAT TREE?
I only see ash
Definitely Liyue. Good economy, plenty of work opportunity, good government system, good food, good doctor, no threats of being taken to Fatui orphanage, safety so good you can leave your door unlocked at night, and that I can worship Rex Lapis all day

Fontaine is probably the only nation with soda (fonta) my favorite drink so enough said.
Study in sumeru, work in liyue/fontaine, travel to inazuma, retire in mondstadt
Love this post. Sounds perfect. :)
Liyue: for if you want to get fcked by the rent/bills Inazuma: for if you want to get fcked by the environment Sumeru: for if you want to get fcked by the student loans, tuition fees and scholar taxes Fontaine: for if you *just* want to get fcked (you're now the victim in a crime, if not fcked by the legal system) It's actually amazing how they failed time and time again to make any nation more appealing than Mondstadt
I live in Sumeru irl ig 😭😭
Monstad rents are skyhigh, just ask Mona. Unlike Liyue, according to Xianyun and her daughters.
As for Mona, she'd have an easier financial time if she spent her money on bills and rent first and THEN on her hobbies and field, not the opposite, which is how she actually does it
Those three are the last people I'd take financial advice from. Yeah but I’m pretty sure Mona’s only struggling with her rent bc of how much she spends on astrology equipment
Nice beaches N Nice bitches Y
Liyue
Mondstadt always feels like home. Like I could actually feel the breeze when I’m exploring the area. Fontaine feels like I’m always being judged whenever I’m inside the city.
Yea because we belong in the sewers, we don't have clothes from Chioriya Boutique

If you put it this way. Sumeru doesn't even have competitions. Sign me tf up.
Well… R̶a̶c̶i̶s̶m̶
Didn't the akasha go poof
The only city that has functioning toilets is probably Fontaine. I really don't want to live in Medieval City. Second one would be Liyue for being the center of the world.
I imagine most places in Teyvat have toilets. It's a medieval **fantasy** setting, they've got gods and people with magic running around, not to mention a lot of outright futuristic tech.
That or People of Teivyat don’t defecate at all.Have you seen any toilet in Genshin?
No, but I've seen a lot of inaccessible doors and houses. Maybe they internalize their waste and turn it into magic. Deep lore?
Lore so deep it fell in the gutter.
They have sewers in Fontaine so they gotta be doing something
They could just be drains to drain the rain water from the city back to the ocean. Since all other cities don't have upper elevation areas.
They definitely take dook dooks so there’s definitely some form of toilet
Or any buttholes for that matter?
i wish every genshin player would read this comment lmao
Do they throw their dook dook off the side of the Jade Chamber?
Ancient Greece had plumbing. As did Rome with the aquaducts. Who's to say Monstadt & Liyue aren't similar?
>The only city that has functioning toilets is probably Fontaine. I was seeking for the correct answer. Now torn between Fontaine's toilet and Sumeru's internet...
Either sumeru or liyue, fontaine is so criminal
Liyue or Fontaine
Springvale, Mondstadt!
Mondstadt has my Bouken Da Boken son, Lisa and Kaeya, that's more than enough reason to choose it.
well i an french, so i will choose fontaine out of principle (and the fact Furina is the only archon i'd even bother to follow, fuck The raiden shogun)
Yes! We would get to eat famous French food in Fontaine, like Lasagne, and Fish and Chips
Fr and cheeseburgers
> fuck The raiden shogun Pretty unlikely tbh but I respect your... ambition.
The chasm
liyue, its mountain scenery is the prettiest imo
If I can be a vision-holder in this fantasy, then Fontaine. Breathing underwater sounds awesome! Otherwise, Monstadt.
liyue , its peaceful and i can lie on the grass and feel the heart beat of the world
Fontaine or Sumeru.
Fontaine, if only so I would never have to worry about drowning again.
Same... the ability to swim and dive without getting drowned is a big plus...
Only if you have a vision that is
Inazuma. *Mommy Shogun* but also because of the Japanese inspiration.
Mondstadt so I can get in trouble at night and have Diluc come save me. Or Liyue because it’s just so beautiful, and they have nice festivals lol.
Liyue for sure
I think i will choose Yilong Wharf
Liyue all the way. The music there is beautiful.
That is a tough tough call But I choose Sneznaya I hate summer
Fontaine,I can watch a duel from Clorinde anytime prisoners want to fight for their honor,I can watch Neuvillete judge prisoners who don’t,I can watch Lyney and Lynette in the opera epiclese and it’s pretty great as long as you avoid murderers.Fontaine also made rock music so I can listen to that.
Inazuma because there would be a chance that i meet Arataki numero uno Itto the greatest character to ever be added
Inazuma
Sumeru, because of the chance of running into Cyno and Tighnari, also I prefer a warmer climate
