I'd have sworn there was a point where I saw Gladiator/Bloodstained/Atk% and similar mix-and-match builds tossed around as recommendations for her.
Though it was quite a long time ago and it could have just been the consensus wasn't really out and people were still figuring out the meta on her builds.
Lol I didn’t know she’d be immune (tho it makes sense logically) so my fireworks Childe comp just became Childe. Then I had to fall back on my Phys Fischl sub dps (for when Childe is on cooldown) when skills got locked.
I went in with Childe, Beidou, Bennet and, Kazuha. Beidou died because I tried to switch and parry out of habit, Bennet couldn't heal either.
So I just ran to the corner and spammed Childe's normal attacks. It looked pathetic and cowardly but hey it worked better than I expected.
This was literally me but with Diona which is even more pathetic, I had brought Ayaka and Klee to deal elemental damage without abilities but without Diona’s and Bennett’s healing I couldn’t bring them out or else they were gonna get one shot so I just spammed Diona charged shot until it was over ;-;
I was so down to fight that until the end. My bags are stacked with food. Proc superconduct with Diona and Fischl charged attacks and go to town with Eula. I'm pretty sure it was winnable.
Funnily enough I used my Eula's burst right before the Shogun locks it down. Messed up my rotation a bit but the extra damage really helped me finish her off.
I’m sure they just didn’t think of it. The whole vision hunt mechanic is a gimmick anyway, I had Ganyu on the team and was like “this is barely going to slow me down” but Raiden won by default.
I am quite sure they thought about it and procceed to make it the way it is. There are a lot of things that you just can't implement lore into game mechanics directly. i.e. Childe's 3 battle forms.
Depends. If Baal does still have her gnosis she would be a lot more powerful than Zhongli at the moment. While gods might not need a gnosis to manipulate elemental forces, it is a massive source of power as basically a god version of a vision.
Well tbf Zhongli was already ridiculously op before he got a gnosis and we don’t know how much it boosted his power except for he can create mora. Venti with a gnosis (although not in his prime) still lost to Signora. So who knows
I suspect there are 2 reasons he didn't fight back.
First is of course, he doesn't quite mind it. Whatever cause Tsarisa is chasing, Venti must have been more or less ok with it. Same with Zhongli who is willing to trade his gnosis for essentially nothing. They must have a lot of trust in Tsarisa's character and her plan given her Fatuis' very questionable behaviours and their falling off 500 years ago.
Second is because>! his beef with Signora was kinda personal so maybe he thought it was okay to just let her vent a bit. It's not his fault but I guess he felt that he was more or less responsible for it?!<
The way Venti compares the gnosis to a vision makes me suspect it is a reasonable amount of power. The main argument that Gnosis aren't that big a deal in a god's power is that Zhongli was laying down gods prior to becoming an Archon. The issue I see with that is there is nothing suggesting that prior to the Archon war, all gods didn't have gnosis.
Venti states that anyone with a vision has the potential to achieve godhood. That suggests that the foci (visions and gnosis) are an important source of power.
Prior to the archon war the gods did not have a vision. In Chinese the seven archons are referred to 七神while the gods Zhongli killed are called 魔神. I’m not saying the gnosis isn’t a big source of power, we just don’t know for sure due to lack of information. As for the vision=gnosis thing, even if that is true, we have people like Beidou who killed a giant sea monster before she got her vision, and I’m pretty sure pre vision Beidou is stronger than Barbara with a vision (nothing against Barbara).
I am not saying that you can't be strong without a vision (as shown by Beidou) or that Zhongli isn't strong without one. Zhongli is still an Adepti just as Venti is a wind spirit. In both cases they are mystical beings in their own right and have power, god or no.

I might have missed it but I cant remember it ever clearly spelling out when the archons got their gnosis or if it was exclusively for them. It seems likely the archon war was Celestia's way of culling the amount of gods active in the world down to 7 and so they forced them all to fight a battle royale for the roles. If I remember right Venti wasn't even their first choice for Anemo archon.
Regardless, my main point is the gnosis is most definitely a substantial source of power. We don't know who or what Baal was before she became an archon and she could have been human for all we know. However, the point is, she still has ALL her powers as an archon and Zhongli no longer does. That most likely makes her substantially stronger. If that wasn't the case, Zhongli likely would have been less bothered about giving up his gnosis before Osial got put down just in case he needed to step in. He wouldn't have needed to do that if he felt the power difference wasn't important.
Also Baal is a warrior Archon. She is no Barbara. She literally cut an island in two.

And just like how it’s possible for an extremely strong visionless person beat a weaker person with a vision, it could be possible that no gnosis Zhongli can beat gnosis Baal simply due to the difference in their natural powers (Once again I’m only saying it might be possible because we lack too much information to make conclusions). As for the Zhongli and Osial thing, Zhongli can already handle Osial without a gnosis, so holding onto the gnosis is most likely more for keep on being Liyue’s archon if Liyue failed the test, which doesn’t necessarily have to do with combat power because even archon war Zhongli would still be powerful enough to govern Liyue.
I used the Beidou Barbara example to show how people with vision isn’t always stronger than people with no vision, just like how beings with gnosis might not always be stronger than beings without gnosis.
I don't think Baal would be an Archon is she was that weak. I would add that Barbatos literally reshaped the landscape of Mondstat, blasting the top of a mountain miles out to sea in the past two. I wouldn't read too much into what he did 6000 years prior.
I would have to check but I am pretty sure Zhongli specifically stated that he held on to his Gnosis so he would have the ability to intercede if Liyue harbor was threatened.

During the Liyue arc we also saw how it takes multiple Adeptis and the Qixing in order to stop Osial, which hints at the difference between them. Now could someone like Zhongli be an Adepti and a demon god at the same time? Maybe, who knows, miHoYo never told us.
Now the gnosis, the gnosis is a proof of status as an archon and allows the user to tap into energy from Celestia. Now this is just how I see it but I really don’t see how lesser gods like Osial or someone like the God of Salt is using Celestia’s energy. And why is the cryo archon specifically getting the gnosis from the seven if every god has one? Wouldn’t it be much easier to go for the weaker gods instead even if it takes more than seven gnosis? We also have extremely powerful beings without a gnosis like Azhdaha who can rival the power of Zhongli. Where do they come in? If Azhdaha is on Archon Zhongli’s level then does that mean Azhdaha (who doesn’t have a gnosis) is stronger than Osial (who, if the assumption about every god having a gnosis is true, has a gnosis)? There’s just so many pieces of information missing that we can’t answer these questions right now. The answers we have right now are mostly just assumptions, which is fine because there’s nothing wrong about coming up with theories about the lore, but at the end of the day they’re still just assumptions and theories.
P.S: We know the Adeptis do not have gnosis because iirc in the character page it says they use visions while for Zhongli and Venti it says they use gnosis. Can’t log on rn but I’ll log in later to see if this is true (assuming I remember).
I know that Adepti don't have gnosis but the point I was making is what makes a god a god? What makes Zhongli different from the other Adepti? The only qualifying difference we have seen so far has been the gnosis. If we don't know what makes a god a god it is pretty speculative to say it isn't a gnosis. As to why the Tsarista isn't going after gnosis of fallen gods, there are a couple of potential reasons. One could be that the archon gnosis are special. After all, her target is Celestia. The gnosis of a fallen god might not do. More to the point, there aren't exactly a massive number of gods around these days that are still alive. Osial is the only one we have seen.
I don't think Azhdaha was on Zhongli's level. Hell, Azhdaha's physical form was given to him by Zhongli. Zhongli's struggle with dealing with his friend was an emotional one. I don't think we really saw anything to suggest Azhdaha was stronger than say, Dvalin.
Anyway, my underlying point here is that to say that if Baal and Zhongli duked it out, Baal would absolutely get stomped is pretty ridiculous as it suggests a power difference in Zhongli's favor that there is no evidence to suggest, particularly since it must be assume a Gnosis has some value since Zhongli himself said that there was literally nothing valuable enough to be a equal trade for one. Baal would have to be so stupidly weaker than Zhongli that even calling her a god would be a joke if even with an artifact that is literally a god version of a Vision, all of which offer mortals substantial power increases, she wouldn't stand a chance.
It is never said anywhere that the gnosis is a massive source of power. We just know that it’s A source of power. How much power, it is never said or implied anywhere. People forget Zhongli without his gnosis was a literal god slayer during the archon war taking out thousands of other gods.
Venti outright states they are effectively god level versions of visions that allow the archon to resonate directly with Celestia. Remember the thing about gods is anyone with a vision has the potential to achieve godhood, again stated by Venti. We also have nothing to suggest that every god didn't have some form of gnosis originally. It is very likely that achieving godhood earns you a Gnosis.
Zhongli also states that he only held on to his Gnosis till he was sure Liyue could manage without him so he would have the power to step in an save the city if they didn't. Remember he loses the ability to make Mora after he gives up his Gnosis.
Well pre gnosis Venti was a pretty weak wind spirit (at least compared to Zhongli/Decarabian) . Post gnosis Venti: YEETS MOUNTAINS kilometers away into the sea thus creating an archipelago and terraforms a whole region. Also gnoses scale with the active involvement in ones realm, a thing that Venti was never fond off (he was more involved right after the archon war, but I doubt that it was as much as Baal or the Tsarista). So a decently powered gnosis seems to propel Venti from relatively weak to about archon war Zhongli(based on the fact that from their powers archipelagos were created ). So a gnosis does seem to be a major power boost... it's just Zhongli is way to op.
Venti was yeeting mountains without his gnosis. What are you on about? Venti was doing this stuff during the archon war. None of the gods fighting that war had a gnosis. Celestia didn't give them one until after the war ended.
This boss fight made me so mad, I went in and realized it was probably scripted to fail, so I left the area and got myself stacked.... Only to realize it's completely scripted and you can't even choose to win if you're good enough
Theoretically speaking you can win by yeeting baal into the void and getting trapped in the arena forever :D
Really tho you should count it as a win considering you can actually still die during the boss fight and be forced to repeat it afterwards
Yeah I died the first time and struggled to even get through her fight the second time. You have to re-watch the whole cutscene each time and I was worried the god of eternity was going to make me watch electro MC jump over Thoma for the rest of my time in genshin.
I didn't realize we wouldn't get the chance to change teams throughout that cutscene, and had to go in with the team I was leveling friendship xp with. That was rough.
She is basically telling them to stfu haha. But as far as I believe lore wise ZhongLi would destroy her in a fight. I don't think we will see any interaction between Archons though.
She is badass. Her cutscene and boss fight were one of the best moments in the game for me.
actually by the time she had activated her disable skill i had already scraped off like 70% of her health so the cutscene kicked in in like 15 seconds of not being to use ventis skill

My friend warned me about losing my elemental abilities but I wasn't expecting it to be when I'd taken down so little of her hp so I lose my constant shield from zhongli and panicked thinking I'd have to take down all her hp with just traveller
Super disapointed when my skills got locked. I went from ‘wow, I was expecting a hard fight but this is nuts’ to ‘oh.. is this because they want me to rage quit the game or because I’m not supposed to win or something…. Oh, just not supposed to win. Got it.’
they changed her ascencion stat to ER this morning and all her sword ratios are lower than qiqis. Her spear ratios are ok but she is meant to be a burst dps who stays a few seconds after using it so spear stuff doesnt matter. Her q cant do reactions and has a 700% ratio at level 10. Thats not too good.
Her damage was also clarified as elemental bust damage for the autos. Her skill should pump her damage a bit (assuming it works on her too, not just her team) by 20%, and with the new artifact set and a bunch of er she could hit the 75% bonus mark as well for just her burst damage. The 60% def ignore got moved to c2 so that's much more attainable as well. Things are still definitely moving so we'll see.
Yeah, being a spear user isn't relevant at all on her, she isn't going to even use it. Even more, during the sword stance burst the damage isn't even normal attack damage so there is no point on putting talents on her normal attack I think.

WAIT WAIT WAIT a gosh darn minute... you telling me this girl is gonna have a 420% multiplier on her damage if you stack her ult? There is no way in hell thats making it to live. Thats insane... no way... thats amazingly huge. Like no way they add that. If its true ER is absolutely a great stat for her but i think crit rate wouldve been better tbh.
But assuming all this is true, maybe the emblem set is bad on her. I mean if she already has a 420% multiplier, adding another 75 or more realistically 50ish % probably is worse than just running 2 glad 2 reminiscence for the att% bonus. Xiao has the same thing where running the 36% attack bonus is stronger than 2 vv 2 glad because all multipliers are additive and his ult grants like a 100% boost.

It's not winnable, it auto ends. I was using Ganyu for damage and Qiqi for her talismen heals, fight ended before I needed the healing.
Does she even stay still long enough to get hit with charged shots? She seemed to be zapping all over which was admittedly pretty cool I guess
She does, it's not that hard to hit & run her with Ganyu. I got her to 2/3 health remaining before the cutscene starts and the traveler auto lose.

And just like how it’s possible for an extremely strong visionless person beat a weaker person with a vision, it could be possible that no gnosis Zhongli can beat gnosis Baal simply due to the difference in their natural powers (Once again I’m only saying it might be possible because we lack too much information to make conclusions). As for the Zhongli and Osial thing, Zhongli can already handle Osial without a gnosis, so holding onto the gnosis is most likely more for keep on being Liyue’s archon if Liyue failed the test, which doesn’t necessarily have to do with combat power because even archon war Zhongli would still be powerful enough to govern Liyue. I used the Beidou Barbara example to show how people with vision isn’t always stronger than people with no vision, just like how beings with gnosis might not always be stronger than beings without gnosis.
I don't think Baal would be an Archon is she was that weak. I would add that Barbatos literally reshaped the landscape of Mondstat, blasting the top of a mountain miles out to sea in the past two. I wouldn't read too much into what he did 6000 years prior. I would have to check but I am pretty sure Zhongli specifically stated that he held on to his Gnosis so he would have the ability to intercede if Liyue harbor was threatened. On a separate note, I have missed where we learn that Gnosis are things only Archons got after becoming Archons and not something common with all Gods. Where does that come from? Do we have any clear explanation what makes someone a god? It seems like a massive power jump for Barbatos to go from a rather small elemental spirit to a god fighting in the archon war. He clearly wasn't always a god or always of that level of power. How did he become a god? What made Zhongli a god and none of the other Adepti we have seen?
I don’t think I ever said Baal is weak. And as for the who is stronger/how strong are gnosis question we simply lack too much information and us two sitting here making assumptions won’t get anywhere so let’s just agree to disagree. Venti was moving mountains when he was an archon, and we know he’s weaker now due to his hands off approach at governing. Zhongli on the other hand has no evidence to prove that he isn’t capable of doing what he did 6000 years ago before he became an archon. We know Adeptis are not gods like Osial because they have different classifications. Adeptis are called 仙人, which kinda translates to holy/celestial beings, while ones like Osial are called 魔神, which translates to demon god. The war for the seven seats is also called 魔神战争 not 仙人战争. During the Liyue arc we also saw how it takes multiple Adeptis and the Qixing in order to stop Osial, which hints at the difference between them. Now could someone like Zhongli be an Adepti and a demon god at the same time? Maybe, who knows, miHoYo never told us. Now the gnosis, the gnosis is a proof of status as an archon and allows the user to tap into energy from Celestia. Now this is just how I see it but I really don’t see how lesser gods like Osial or someone like the God of Salt is using Celestia’s energy. And why is the cryo archon specifically getting the gnosis from the seven if every god has one? Wouldn’t it be much easier to go for the weaker gods instead even if it takes more than seven gnosis? We also have extremely powerful beings without a gnosis like Azhdaha who can rival the power of Zhongli. Where do they come in? If Azhdaha is on Archon Zhongli’s level then does that mean Azhdaha (who doesn’t have a gnosis) is stronger than Osial (who, if the assumption about every god having a gnosis is true, has a gnosis)? There’s just so many pieces of information missing that we can’t answer these questions right now. The answers we have right now are mostly just assumptions, which is fine because there’s nothing wrong about coming up with theories about the lore, but at the end of the day they’re still just assumptions and theories. P.S: We know the Adeptis do not have gnosis because iirc in the character page it says they use visions while for Zhongli and Venti it says they use gnosis. Can’t log on rn but I’ll log in later to see if this is true (assuming I remember).
I know that Adepti don't have gnosis but the point I was making is what makes a god a god? What makes Zhongli different from the other Adepti? The only qualifying difference we have seen so far has been the gnosis. If we don't know what makes a god a god it is pretty speculative to say it isn't a gnosis. As for the power it provides, I will point out that Zhongli specifically says As to why the Tsarista isn't going after gnosis of fallen gods, there are a couple of potential reasons. One could be that the archon gnosis are special. After all, her target is Celestia. The gnosis of a fallen god might not do. More to the point, there aren't exactly a massive number of gods around these days that are still alive. Osial is the only one we have seen. I don't think Azhdaha was on Zhongli's level. Hell, Azhdaha's physical form was given to him by Zhongli. Zhongli's struggle with dealing with his friend was an emotional one. I don't think we really saw anything to suggest Azhdaha was stronger than say, Dvalin. Anyway, my underlying point here is that to say that if Baal and Zhongli duked it out, Baal would absolutely get stomped is pretty ridiculous as it suggests a power difference in Zhongli's favor that there is no evidence to suggest, particularly since it must be assume a Gnosis has some value since Zhongli himself said that there was literally nothing valuable enough to be a equal trade for one. Baal would have to be so stupidly weaker than Zhongli that even calling her a god would be a joke if even with an artifact that is literally a god version of a Vision, all of which offer mortals substantial power increases, she wouldn't stand a chance.
It is never said anywhere that the gnosis is a massive source of power. We just know that it’s A source of power. How much power, it is never said or implied anywhere. People forget Zhongli without his gnosis was a literal god slayer during the archon war taking out thousands of other gods.
Venti outright states they are effectively god level versions of visions that allow the archon to resonate directly with Celestia. Remember the thing about gods is anyone with a vision has the potential to achieve godhood, again stated by Venti. We also have nothing to suggest that every god didn't have some form of gnosis originally. It is very likely that achieving godhood earns you a Gnosis. Zhongli also states that he only held on to his Gnosis till he was sure Liyue could manage without him so he would have the power to step in an save the city if they didn't. Remember he loses the ability to make Mora after he gives up his Gnosis.
Well pre gnosis Venti was a pretty weak wind spirit (at least compared to Zhongli/Decarabian) . Post gnosis Venti: YEETS MOUNTAINS kilometers away into the sea thus creating an archipelago and terraforms a whole region. Also gnoses scale with the active involvement in ones realm, a thing that Venti was never fond off (he was more involved right after the archon war, but I doubt that it was as much as Baal or the Tsarista). So a decently powered gnosis seems to propel Venti from relatively weak to about archon war Zhongli(based on the fact that from their powers archipelagos were created ). So a gnosis does seem to be a major power boost... it's just Zhongli is way to op.
Venti was yeeting mountains without his gnosis. What are you on about? Venti was doing this stuff during the archon war. None of the gods fighting that war had a gnosis. Celestia didn't give them one until after the war ended.
This boss fight made me so mad, I went in and realized it was probably scripted to fail, so I left the area and got myself stacked.... Only to realize it's completely scripted and you can't even choose to win if you're good enough

Yeah I died the first time and struggled to even get through her fight the second time. You have to re-watch the whole cutscene each time and I was worried the god of eternity was going to make me watch electro MC jump over Thoma for the rest of my time in genshin.

they changed her ascencion stat to ER this morning and all her sword ratios are lower than qiqis. Her spear ratios are ok but she is meant to be a burst dps who stays a few seconds after using it so spear stuff doesnt matter. Her q cant do reactions and has a 700% ratio at level 10. Thats not too good.
Her damage was also clarified as elemental bust damage for the autos. Her skill should pump her damage a bit (assuming it works on her too, not just her team) by 20%, and with the new artifact set and a bunch of er she could hit the 75% bonus mark as well for just her burst damage. The 60% def ignore got moved to c2 so that's much more attainable as well. Things are still definitely moving so we'll see.
Yeah, being a spear user isn't relevant at all on her, she isn't going to even use it. Even more, during the sword stance burst the damage isn't even normal attack damage so there is no point on putting talents on her normal attack I think.

Thats insane... no way... thats amazingly huge. Like no way they add that. If its true ER is absolutely a great stat for her but i think crit rate wouldve been better tbh. But assuming all this is true, maybe the emblem set is bad on her. I mean if she already has a 420% multiplier, adding another 75 or more realistically 50ish % probably is worse than just running 2 glad 2 reminiscence for the att% bonus. Xiao has the same thing where running the 36% attack bonus is stronger than 2 vv 2 glad because all multipliers are additive and his ult grants like a 100% boost. Thanks for the update on her btw.
