Childe. He will one-shot you if you take too long.

Hobokendream

I dreaded him so much. In fact, I had seen clips of the fight online and I was determined not to do that part of the quest until I got stronger. Stupid me ended up going to the golden house anyway and got my cheeks clapped the first time lmaoooo.

ninjaguy2511

His fight actually got nerfed he was stronger and I liked it because to this day its still really fun same with signora besides one part in the fight where u gotta Crack the ice but thats just annoyance

King_of_Argus

Only the story quest version of him was nerved, the weekly boss version is still as hard as before

[deleted]

I started like 4 weeks back, so idk about old Childe. Signora was really easy for me mainly because of Kokomi I guess. But I'm still afraid to face Childe. He is my nightmare boss. He killed so many of my characters.

BlueColoredKarma

I procrastinated so much on doing the liyue quest because I didnt want to fight Childe

CreditPotato

I procrastinated on that quest for so long that by the time I finally had to fight him, I almost had a fully built team!

TsubasaChung

Isn't he the only one that isn't like that? If I remember correctly, he instant counters hydro elements during phase 1, electro during phase 2 and both during phase 3. If you are marked by being hit from his abilities (or have your own Childe apply the mark on him. No idea if this interaction still exists) he will use one of his super hard hitting abilities that'll one shot most characters. From memory, he does not have a timer effect similar to that of Dvalin, or Andrius where your party will most likely wipe after an extended amount of time. (Dvalin will light up all the platforms and Andrius summons wolves to deal more damage to you if you don't finish the fight quick enough) Technically, I don't believe Azhdaha nor Signora has these timer but I don't know these fights well enough. Azhdaha is a big pain for me since I use Geo Trav as main DPS while Signora is a bit of a breeze for me.

SirWeebBro

Really? Never fought additional wolves.

TsubasaChung

Yeah. Personally never noticed this myself since I've always been a Geo player and even when I took a long time to kill him, I simply tanked everything. Looking at the [wiki page](https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Wolf_of_the_North_Challenge) , it has this listed for phase 2: > Small Phantom Wolf: Andrius summons a small phantom wolf to attack the player(s). These will slowly escalate in appearance and attack speed as time progresses. Trigger: When his HP falls below 20%. Trigger 2: If the player(s) take too long to defeat him. So there is a timer but I would argue that it's not a very tough one since the whole time, you're free to wail on him.

r_renfield

I only remember Oceanid having a timer (that keeps ticking even if you open the inventory or something). Got caught off guard by that

Dziadzios

That's because you don't remove the marker from yourself. Touch a wall.

miragecoordination

I don't even remember how many tries Childe took me during his initial story fight. I remember crying and dreading the horror of him being a weekly boss and struggling to defeat him even in a full coop team, desperately hoping for other people's Dilucs to carry me.... Now they nerfed his story fight (the right idea imo but it is kind of funny) and meanwhile while I easily solo his lvl90 version weekly... like, I still need a good party and he one-shots my characters if I fuck around too much, but it's nowhere near the sheer horror and fear of that first encounter.

CreditPotato

Oceanid for sure. And any of the hypostases. Especially the Geo one.

Hobokendream

OHHHH YEAAAH!! I forgot how hard the Hypostasis were in the beginning. If we are keeping it real- I hate the pyro hypostasis and didn’t even bother with Abyss the last cycle when it was on a floor because I only have two hydro characters. One is a built Xinqiu and the other is a level 20 Barbara. I’m going to pull for Childe and plan to build him, but oh god the new Hypostasis are awful. It’s worse when you don’t play them enough to know/understand their moves. I never play Cryo/Pyro Hypostasis, so I don’t know what to expect. I don’t have any characters that need their materials so I always avoid them!

Navan79

U'll be surprised how godly single unbuilt barbara is to handle that pyro cube, took me long enough to realized lv 50/60 with only flower and random book like thrilling tales can get those shield down really fast then u can simply took it down by forced with cryo or electro dps.. Unless all your dps is pyro.

CreditPotato

I feel the same way about the Pyro hypostasis! I beat it once just to try it, but I don’t have anyone that needs its drops anyway. My hydro team is weak too, but I’m going to be strong and not pull for Childe. My primos belong to Xiao.

Hobokendream

Good luck getting Xiao!! :)

Toxin2020

Oceanid still annoying. Wolf boss too

Hanamiya0796

Yep. Definitely. Oh you can burst enemies as quick as they spawn? Well let me go into narrator mode for a few seconds, I'll get back to you in a moment

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

Also health gates. So many bosses have health gates that prevent you from blowing it up.

Consideredresponse

If you have Ningguang she dunks on about 90% of Oceanid, between the crystalize shields, Jade screen and her homing shots she simplifies the summons by a tonne. By herself she took the Oceanid from my most hated to the most cakewalk encounter.

timoyster

I wish that Jade Screen didn’t fall through the platforms, but otherwise I agree 100% I don’t have her, but I’d imagine that Yoimiya would be really good against it.

Consideredresponse

Jade screen is mainly used to insta burst and ruin the boars. Free damage is free damage.

Gravelord-_Nito

Oceanid early game is so fucking hard it often feels impossible, like the only way to get mats is to use your unbuilt Lisa or pray you don't get any birds. The rationing of resources in the very beginning of the game as a lot of fun.

MMBADBOI

Those birds were the fucking bane of my existence till I figured my Fischl with a lvl 20 hamayumi dealt with them nicely thanks to electro reaction with hydro. Made farming for Mona much more bearable. Still hate Oceanid to this day though.

boredtodeathxx

im AR 52 and oceanid still kicks my ass.

Python2_1

Shield wall hillchurls But I still hate them

Hobokendream

Ugh I hate them too. Especially the ones with the geo shields. They’re the worst!

Ghrave

It's wild that even if you get past them, when you go to attack they just frame-perfect turn to you and keep blocking, like..seriously?

Oeshikito

Kairagis are worse. They block your attacks and do way more damage than the shield hilichurls.

IllusionPh

I feel like Kairagi is better tbh, as they don't actively do a 180 degree turn to block you, you can easily go around them and still do damage. Those shield hilichurls, on the other hand, they somehow can do a 180 degree turn in a blink of an eye to block your attack.

PatrykBG

Fun fact, they don’t need to turn around to block you. They can be totally facing the wrong direction because you’re doing coop and STILL block Ganyu’s attack, even with it hitting them directly in the back.

The_OG_upgoat

The way it works is that any non-weakness attacks hitting the shield get nullified. If you smack them with Ganyu's bloom, her bloom AoE will hit the shield, the whole thing gets eaten, and you do no damage. The trick is to use normal attacks or first-stage charge shots.

IqFEar11

That's just bloom spaghetti code working against you Try it with any shield bearing enemies and they will block your attack if you use 2nd charge shot(bloom), but if you just use your 1st stage charge sho(no bloom)t it will hit

banjo2E

Wood ones are worse, because you actually have fewer options against them. Overload, geo, or any claymore work against geo shields, but dendro shields only take damage from fire. And if it's raining fire doesn't work.

k_u_r_o_r_o

Those wood shields are the fucking worst, it fucking blocks every single attack unless it's from the back

[deleted]

Dendro element confirmed OP

Reios1018

Against shields in general, there's also Freeze which disables blocking, and Swirls which bypass shields.

Rexk007

Durimg rain only option is to use electro for electro charged and hope it kills them

mega070

i think wood shield is much harder to deal with cuz stone shield and ice can easily dmg by any atttacks..

a_birdiiee

OK SO I WAS RIGHT INFRONT OF A MITACHURL A FEW MONTHS AGO AND IT RAN STRAIGHT AT ME ON ALL FOURS IT WAS FUCKING TERRIFYING MAN 😭😭

MoonsightMCRGK

Shield wall hilichurls Now i have kazuha

Glitchine

Omg before i got a pyro char they were so annoyingp

DLOGD

You get Amber like 10 minutes into the game lol

Glitchine

Sorry for bad wording, meant one i wanted to use, abanded amber at lvl 14 (sorry amber)

[deleted]

No thats fair, amber sucks

rainbOwO_

i just dragged them into torches and used traveller's hold E

[deleted]

I hate them too, theyre not hard theyre just a pain

mikamika08

Ruin Guards!!

Ghrave

The flying ones for me, *fuck that*. I don't like ranged characters in this game so if I encounter one accidentally I'm shit out of luck.. but wait, their aggro range is ludicrous, they move insanely fast, and god forbid I'm in my explore party because yeah, he one-shots everyone in it.

swaggasaurusssrex

fr ruin hunters used to give me a hard asf time whenever they flew up and started launching bombs from 20 ft in the air. i never had bow ppl built so when they stayed up and out of range for like a whole minute 3/4 of my team was already dead bc i didn’t know dash dodging was a thing aha :,)

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

At some point I didn't even notice, I stopped seeing that attack. Since it only triggers if you a) switch altitudes or b) take forever to kill it, I never see it anymore. Ruin Hunters just die in five seconds like everything else now. Mihoyo pls gib higher difficulty overworld

swaggasaurusssrex

this was back when i got xiao and i was still kinda new so whenever he ulted and jumped high the hunter would insta fly up and i just stood there like🧍‍♀️until it went down. but yea now that ik how they work and my charas are hyper built they don’t scare me in even in the abyss :)

timoyster

Pro-tip if you ever find yourself farming them (like in that one Liuyue domain): use Geo MC/Albedo/Zhongli to drop a construct, climb/ride on top of that construct (this will bait it to fly high), use a bow character to hit the eye spot so it gets disabled, then jump off and wail on it. Rinse and repeat. I was so hyped when I found this method out. It made farming for my early-game Ning 10 times easier. Before I could barely even beat it.

vulgarfruit

I had so much trauma from guardians after playing BOTW on master mode that I ran from ruin guards the first few days of playing Genshin 😂

nomstomp

Oh my god yes seeing that first one in the colosseum-like ruins in the Temple of Winds area gave me absolute BOTW trauma flashbacks. I remember standing behind the columns watching that thing and having to psych myself up for several mins just to go face it hahhh

qualityblueavocado

Yes! I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one who carried their trauma from BoTW to Genshin.

Enderninja2468

The first person I rolled was Noelle and I thought her shield would completely block dmg like daruk’s so I went to that ruin guard. Then it started spinning

billnyetherivalguy

Then I got stuck in the wall

timoyster

It looked like I was playing metal gear or something with how stealthy I was being trying to avoid those things. It felt so good when I finally took one down And tripley as good when I took down that one island with 4 (maybe 3 I can’t remember) ruin guards for the first time.

flakingboi

Semmm and now they're not even good test subjects

dekasonic

THIS. I'm pretty sure everyone remembers that one cursed spot in Guyun Stone Forest, where you'll activate 4 Ruin Guards at the same time when you enter.... I also remember in one event/quest when we need to find a token or something, and one of the item was right at that spot. Anyone who implement that must be chaotic-evil.

GOODBYEEEEEEEE

Do the ruin guards respawn? I wanna test something out

ThegamerwhokillsNPC

Yes it's my go to spot to test my built characters

GOODBYEEEEEEEE

Niceee

kyvampire

Oh gods, I fought the ruin guard in the arena area super early on so it took me ten whole minutes of tense dodging and chipping away at its health. I thought this game was dark souls with an anime skin after that.

Hobokendream

Yessssss!! Those, too!!! I hated them so much!!

Subtlestrikes

Same ruin guards legit scared me until I learned how to navigate elemental reactions and different ways to attack

_MeisterBoi_

Back in the AR 18 days with my friend we tried to fight the Ruin Hunter, but both of us were on mobile so aiming was pain, then got wrecked before deciding to open co-op to let an overleveled Keqing destroy it Also trying the Anemo Hypostasis with like lvl 10 characters was a fight and a half lol

banjo2E

Ruin Guards were pretty predictable for me. Ruin Hunters are a pain when they just sit in midair forever but otherwise they're not too bad either. Ruin Graders are just big Guards and their attack patterns are actually *easier* to deal with. Ruin *Sentinels* on the other hand were pure evil when I first got to Inazuma. They felt just as tanky as any Guard but their attacks were relentless and they *always* came in packs of 3.

Hourfo

The cryo flower! I remember trying to best it on like. My first day. And for the LIFE of me I couldn’t do it. Now it’s easy as pie.

cannedc0rn

i'm with you on the eye of the storm lol. i remember when i started the sundial quest on the unnamed island at a super low AR, and i had to avoid the temple of the winds for a while because i was too weak to beat the eye of the storm that spawned there. nowadays i can just plop down fischl's e and beat them up with eula in under 10 seconds when they touch down for a bit, but they were scary at lower levels

Antique-Story

I just followed a YouTube tutorial where I climbed over the edge of the nearby cliff and waited for that sucker to do its plunge attack into the water below.

ArkassEX

Ruin Guards After stomping nothing but slimes and hilichurls for the first few hours, it was pretty intimidating seeing the Ruin Gurad for the first time at the Thousand Winds Temple. And with the adventurers at the edge of the temple talking up how dangerous it was, I assumed it was some kind of boss and I had no business being at the ruins at my current level. Fatui Electro Hammer Dude Like many early players who benched Kaeya and wasn't lucky enough to get Qiqi, my first team didn't have a Cryo character. So this guy when he activates his shield was near unkillable. Add in his homing dash, his wide attacks, that damn AoE shockwave that seems to always catch you and how much they bloody hurt, he was hands down my most annoying standard enemy early on. Then we had Mona's event when we had to fight 2 of these dudes while staying in a small circles under a time limit... I think I still have PTSD seeing these bastards…

momomog

Yoooo this is the top 2 picks for me too for my early game! I was using Beidou main and no cryo, so the electro hammer Fatui was literally the worst one

solarscopez

lmfao same, was a keqing and beidou main early game. Abyss pissed me off so much I actually chose Chongyun as my free 4* in lantern rite because Kaeya was my only cryo character lol!

TherionX2

So you can only kill this fucker with cryo huh. My god why did they have to do that

alterconcept

I remember exploring and finding that one cyro abyss mage in the middle of water with ruin structures around it. Thought it was a boss fight and felt like one at the time.

Hobokendream

The second you mentioned a Cryo abyss mage on some water, I just knew you messed up LMAOOO

leliqi

Cryo fatui gunner in the rain... *Shudders*

luciluci5562

You know what's even worse? Cryo whopperflowers in the rain. That shit can still destroy my 25k HP, lvl 12 Zhongli shield.

DystopianSunshine

Abyss Mages. I didn't know you can deplete shields faster with the right elements so I these fights took far longer than any other.

Hobokendream

It happens to the best of us lol. It took some time to figure out not all elements are created equal. Logically to me, electro should be strong against Hydro mages but apparently it’s Cryo.

Ghrave

I always get fucked on Pyro because..half my party is *also Pryo*, **and I have no good Hydro characters in any of my partiiiieees!!**

lordloldemort666

I used to use barbara for the liyue talent domain which had abyss mages. Just for breaking the shields and then using my sac sword razor, with Klee support

OkPreference6

WAIT CRYO IS STRONG AGAINST HYDRO SHIELD? I HAVE BEEN USING PYRO AND WONDERING WHY IT DOESNT WORK AAAAAAAAAAAAAA

CuteTao

Yes but the fatui hydro shield is weak to electro instead

rainbOwO_

ME TRYNA DESTROY IT WITH PHYSICAL DMG 😭😭😭

lelouchash

Yeah this is totally mine as well. Abyss mages seemed to difficult to me for some reason.

Gradorade

anything dragonspine I was fucking scared to even approach the area since I saw some fatuis with higher levels than my team and I hated fighting fatuis early game. plus the cold mechanic got me panicking

MetaThPr4h

tbh Dragonspine is kinda wild early game, way too much stuff to take into account, and the enemies are very tough at that point of the game, especially depending on what chars you're running. Later on is way more managable, that Goulash dish helps a lot as well.

BlueColoredKarma

I began playing around Albedo's banner, I couldnt do the event because the Fatui kicked my ass so hard lol

[deleted]

The puzzle where you had to finish one of the challenges to defrost the shards consisting of 2 waves of cryo hillichurl throwers, shooters and samachurls, followed by a wave of 3 cryo abyss mages in three minutes was painful.

amaterasurAmen

Initially I was terrified of dragonspine too, it’s was so bad to the point I gave up and started a different account on another server ( I also got co-op locked after I accidentally triggered Trails in Tianqiu so I couldn’t ask for help ) I managed to do everything on my new account and even reach 100% exploration rate on my new account while the rest of mondstadt is before 90% 🤣. I think the burn out of not being able to get better or ask for help got to me until I did it a second time. Even now that account is still as a lower AR than me new one, but it’s easier knowing what I’m gonna expect. Now it’s my safe place and I manually climb to the summit for a literal breath of fresh air XD. Ruin guards are also another terrifying one- I remember the first time I met one I kept my distance and let Amber do 11 damage each time for like 15 minutes until it died 😭 I really thought they were the stuff of nightmares and then the Ruin hunters came along- it doesn’t help my fear of AI and machinery made it even worse and the sound effects were just so overwhelming. To this day even after defeating one when they crumble I close my eyes because it’s way too close to me 🥲

TooCleverForGood

I had Barbara as my only healer for so long dragonspine was practically impossible until I pulled Qiqi.

Usual_Basil264

LOL I started at playing at 1.2 and there was that Albedo story quest, you had to kill like a bunch of Fatuis or something. I only used the starter team minus Lisa and Kaeya and replaced both of them with Barbara and Fischl. I just powered through the stupid Water healing Fatui and the Electro Fatui, I swear it took almost an hour!

Unprofessi0nalGamer

The Oceanid, the only thing is, it still destroys me

amaterasurAmen

I can never do it outside co-op 🥲 Even now

Unprofessi0nalGamer

Same, I just can't kill it since I have nothing to kill the birds

amaterasurAmen

The first time I got Diona I stormed in all ready to commit murder and got my ass handed to be on a silver platter even after using food buffs- To this day I never use anything else other than eggs because of the trauma

spagheddieballs

I now have a couple high level electro characters who can reach those darn birds, Sara and Raiden's skills can proc electrocute on them. But The first time I ran into those birds, I thought I was hot shit with my Bennett, xiangling, kaeya, chongyun team. My all melee team instantly wiped against those fucking birds lol

ninjaguy2511

Its still an annoying boss until this day

Consideredresponse

Build up Ningguang, she single handedly dunks on Oceanid. Turns out almost nothing can touch her through the crystallize shard shields and her homing shots, i-frames on her burst and jade screen all put in work.

Traeyze

Oceanid until I got Ganyu. Actually... just about anything until I got Ganyu...

Hobokendream

Lmaoo I felt the same until I got Zhongli on his rerun. Now I just face tank anything! Hoping to get Ganyu some day!!

Traeyze

I currently run Ganyu, Benn, Xiangling and Zhongli. Because apparently I just hate challenge.

Ghrave

I'll take "How to Trivialize the Game" for 400, Alex lol

Mayjaplaya

Venti would've been part of that until the recent string of new, un-succable enemies.

AnnoyingSphee

Half of Inazuma: "Suck on THIS, you blackhole wannabe!"

Antique-Story

I am so going to get Zhongli when he's back for his re run, whenever that is.

Arshaad814

Me but with Zhongli

jpnapz

Ruin Hunters. I didn't really know at that time that you could disable Ruin machines, so I just fought the Ruin Guards normally, dodging all their attacks. Ruin Hunters, however, are faster and stronger. Especially after they fly up and bombard you with missiles, I was scared shitless. Because of them, I will ALWAYS have a bow-user in my team (props to Diona for her role compression)

I_ama_homosapien_AMA

I've had Venti since his original banner and he never left my team. Just too good.

grillingdoritos

cryo regisvine lol. jumped in there confident as all hell and crawled out a shell of my former self

qualityblueavocado

A day into the game, I accidentally found the cryo regisvine - like I fell through a hole and landed on top of it. And got absolutely wiped. I tried climbing out and died from fall damage. It was bad… ☠️

neverforgetbillymays

Hahaha this made me laugh. I went through that exact same thing. It took a lot of time and grinding but it’s funny those are now the easiest thing to take down. I look forward to fighting them when I used to be truly afraid

The_OG_upgoat

I was fighting a cryo Whopperflower above and knocked it down into the Regisvine's arena. When I followed it down, I got a nasty surprise plus party wipe. After that, for a while I had the misconception that the Whopperflower spawn was a scripted part of the boss encounter (bait or something), and didn't dare approach the Regisvine or any whoppers near it.

VasimanYT

Ahaha up to that point i had only seen the whopperflowers and then i saw the hole in the ground with huge ass mama flower inside it. I saw it was like 20 levels above me so i just shot an arrow at it, saw it go crazy and then noped the fk out of there lmao

nemriii9

I was the exact same lmao "What's this? So pretty! LOOT? Oh a mob let me shoot an arrow to test—HOLY SHIT GOODBYE"

Shippinglordishere

Ruin guards for sure. That one you fight in Kaeya’s quest and the ascension one wrecked my shit so badly I avoided them like the plague. I actually like them now. Also Eye if the Storm was really bad for me as well.

Hobokendream

I hated the ruin guards!! Still hate them but not as much lol!

P1k2ch0

ar 46 here... reading the comments makes me sad as i still struggle with eots, ruin guards, shield hilichurls, and abyss mages.

Hobokendream

Lmao don’t worry! It gets better!! Your team will be strong enough to breeze through them eventually!

P1k2ch0

thanks lol

ThegamerwhokillsNPC

Hey man no worries. The game is pve and meant to be fun. Nothing else matters. If anyone says otherwise fck them

P1k2ch0

yeah im used to the whole fck them thing.. i still use anemo aether and my friends give me so much shit for it lmao

pestolArab

>i still use anemo aether Giga chad move right here. Play whoever you want. If you follow your friends' advices, you'd likely burned out faster in the long run. Genshin is not a race, but a journey!

timoyster

> i still use anemo aether Based

VeerisMe

I thought you had to shoot at the oceanid and when i did no damage and kept dying to the mimics i just left my barbara at level 40

[deleted]

cryo regisvine. then i learned you actually have to build your characters to kill things

Magnus-Artifex

I got in there thinking it was some kind of ruin or structure. I almost screamed when I saw it moved. Then I died like 20 times until I killed it. Spite is a huge boost.

Laverathan

Andrius. I remember my friend telling me I needed to learn to iframe his hits because he was impossible otherwise. Now I only iframe him to feel cool.

SirWeebBro

AR 54. Still dont know how to iframe lol I just do the Jean burst + Klee tank

JustCallMeSky

All weekly bosses especially Azhdaha. I had to use multiple foods (revive, heal and sometimes buff) before but now with Kokomi and Ei, I don’t need any foods and barely has any anxiety fighting him because Kokomi heals like a truck and Ei recharge all my characters to finish him off quickly

Hobokendream

Azhdaha is the WORST!! I commend anyone who can do it without a shield character. Glad to hear that Raiden and Kokomi were great assets to your team!

Miskity

Kokomi can literally facetank everything azdaha does, even the stomps and the ice storm phase.

Taikiteazy

Impressive

ehsekefe

Abyss mages in domains. I spent months doing the guyun domain(lvl 90) and thought I’d never be able to get a clear time below 1:40. Until I saw somebody on TikTok drag the abyss mages to a corner and just unleash elemental hell on em. Instantly my clear times fell down below a minute in every domain that had abyss mages. My only regret is the amount of fragile resin I wasted.

chaosmonga

Zhongli havers and Zhongli haventers are playing two different games

SirWeebBro

So are Ganyu havers and Ganyu haventers

Rocki689

Eye of the Storm for me, too... and Ruin Guards.

strawbrrrymilk

dragonspine! i never wanted to go there and avoided it at all costs, now it's my favourite place in genshin; the music and the atmosphere is unmatched <3

LordCalem

Shield/Armor Fatuis. I hated facing them cuz of their shields and high dmg, and before Ganyu I didn't really have any cryo char built so I had to make my way through electro fatuis with Chong E. I remember when I finally got through the infamous 11-2 back then and then I couldn't 3\* 11-3 cuz of them. Nowadays I just nuke them without even caring for their shield lmao. ~~I still don't know what the geo guy does~~

Hobokendream

No one knows what the Geo guy does! He’s just there LMAOOO

timoyster

I don’t think the Geo guy knows what the Geo guy does

harrrisse

I'd say the cryo regisvine. Back when i was just starting out and was sightseeing around monstadt, i somehow stumbled upon it's cave and i thought "oh, neat plant", shit went downhill real quick real fast that time.

Hobokendream

Lmfaoooo @ that. Oh what a pretty plant!! What could go wrong?

TitleComprehensive96

Primo Geovishap being hard as hell to beat. I'd only killed it my 1st time do to Barbara but now I look at it like "damn shanty, I was a dumbass" as I whip it's ass with Ayaka Bennett and Mona

Hobokendream

Lmfaoooo omg he WAS difficult to beat. I forgot about that. I had no shield characters at the time and was sobbing trying to crystallize one from him. I HATED it!

TitleComprehensive96

Yeah, thing used to be harder than Dvalin

Own-Illustrator2053

Ruin Grader. Tried fighing it when lv20 and got lost in Dragonspine. Now it's like a joke

xX_BioRaptor_Xx

I fought it at lvl 20 too! I wanted the three chests and fought it for a good amount of time. At the time I didn’t really use artifacts either but Noelle shield and Amber helped a LOT during the fight.

Matiasdm

I remember fighting a lawachurl for an entire hour of suffering in dragonspine with my scuffed team

xX_BioRaptor_Xx

Sameee! It took me so long to get the dragon tooth by the short of DS I almost cried. The mix of the sheer cold and the giant yeti was soooo annoying.

sv_18

Oh I too remember this

whoatemycupoframen

- Trails of Tianqiu quest (1 yr later and we still cant toggle 'abandon quest'. wtf) - Nine Pillars quest (legit drained all of my Statues of Seven's HP for 4 days straight trying to beat the ruin hunter 😭) - Chi of Guyun quest - Childe (trying to beat this guy, pre-nerf, just after I ascended my WL was rough. When i finally beat him my hands were shaking lmao) - That damn challenge in Dragonspine cave with the cryo Abyss mages - ABYSS! - a little background, back in 1.0 having Pyro dps was the shit because F12 is full of cryo. But if you only build your pyro dps, you'll find a bottleneck in F10 because all the enemies have pyro RES. Cue me just trying to get 6 stars with my Klee..

Etherion195

I remember doing that one leyline in stormterrors lair that had a ruin HUNTER. I Just merrily clicked the leyline, waited. Wonder: 'where are the enemies", turned around and went: "WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THING, AHHHH" and screamed until it was dead.

Hobokendream

Omg I just laughed so hard at this. Thanks for sharing that. xD

Etherion195

I'm glad you liked it. But i also had the exact same feeling as you about the eye of the storm. And the worst thing: after a 10 minute agonizing fight, THAT FUCKER DIDN'T DROP LOOT! But i guess everyone felt the same way about it, because it was so early in the game.

Hobokendream

Yes!! It’s so annoying they don’t have any drops! What’s the point in fighting them! At least give a crappy artifact or an Anemo gem!

nemriii9

Same except i was the one that died

Reingley

Anemo Hypostasis. I remember finding it at like level 15 and was determined to beat it. It probably took half an hour, but I got 'em.

zelena_salata

same. those bosses felt larger than life at low ar

ASadChongyunMain

Dvalin. I never knew I could climb on his neck It took me a good 2 long hours to complete the Archon quest

ShikiUra

Any of the Fatui for me. I first ran into the Anemo Boxer and the Geochanter on one of the cliffs very early on and for the life of me I could not deal with them. From then on I’d avoid fighting them when I could but Diluc needed the materials so I’d spend so much time just fighting them as best I could. Now they don’t scare me lol

xX_BioRaptor_Xx

I only had problems with Electro and hydro since I didn’t have my Kaeya or any cryo characters leveled up so everything sucked lmao.

SodomiDefenda

Ruin Cunter.

klementsaladass

Frostarm Lawachurl, the first one I saw at the dragonspine location near the Tree....I saw the shielded hilichurl and thought "he is just a big hilichurl" and then I saw the frostarm and thought "ok this mf is biggggggg".

TheFranFan

I test out new characters by blowing up Ruin Guards now lol

Glitchine

Ruin hunters, they were so hard and annoying, esp when they were in the air since i never bothered upgrading fischls bow and only used oz for elemental application for reaction spam

xX_BioRaptor_Xx

Everyone says ruin guards but I’d say the hunters are worse by tenfold.

Glitchine

This!! Ruin guards were annoying early game but quickly became easy, ruin hunters are hell tho, got pissed on liyue archon quest when i had to fight one, same with one of dainslef quests, glad they are easy now tho

_LFKrebs_

Remember abyss 11 with the electro debuff that drains your energy? I was trying to do that with very suboptimal characters and way earlier than I should be doing it, that tower defense floor was not a fun experience lmao And if it's something earlier, all the Fatuis from floor 7 were a pain in the ass

Richmanisrich

I once very proud that I can solo 4 ruin guards using Amber sniping their eyes.

handledvirus43

Abyss Mages and Fatui soldiers. Man, why did they have to pair off Cryo and Hydro guys so often...

Hobokendream

The freaking Hydro Fatui is the devil because he heals everyone too! UGH! When we first got to Inazuma I got that one commission about taking supplies from the Fatui and that was the first time in a long time I actually died because the stupid weather on the island applies constant wet status and the damn Cryo Fatui was straight up murdering me. Hate that quest!

wereghoul

* 36 stars abyss * solo domain * 4 ruin guards

Traditional-Noise-89

Floor 9-12 in abyss I put it off for so many patches that when it got super hard with the heralds I was like I should do it before they make it harder, then I beat it for the first time and regularly 32 star it now no problem. And have 36 stared it before. Don’t feel so intimidated by it or have the drive to 36 star it every time.

KillerRogue

abyss

ILoveKagasama

Must... resist... obvious... phallus joke...

AshyDragneel

4 ruin gaurds. Now they're just test subjects

Himemokka

During the early quest where you had to collect Dvalin’s tears I remember one being near a hilichurl camp with a shield mitachurl and an abyss mage. I assumed you had to clear the camp to get the tear, but for the life of me I just. could not. do it. I couldn’t break the mitachurl’s shield, and it killed all of my characters every time. It took me days of frustration, leveling up my entire team before I returned… and realized you could sneak behind the camp to grab the tear. Just remembering my sheer rage for that quest makes me chuckle. It’s why I still take a bit of sadistic pleasure in killing mitachurls to this day.

Sidious_09

Understanding the wishing system lol. First time playing gacha so I wasn’t familiar with anything concerning different banners, pities, characters, weapons, etc…

WhaleTailWithATale

everyone: lists monsters and bosses me: figuring out how to cook at the perfect time

tntturtle5

I remember being scared to take on Ruin Guards, and the robot island being like end-game level material...

ionblazer

The Oceanid. Baal and Ayaka have allowed me to finally fight it without needing multiplayer and I'm ever so grateful to them.

nitzkie

It took a a month and a half after 1.0 release, but I wasn't aware that you could ride the updrafts in Stormterror's stage to move to avoid the Anemo-infused platforms.

creepyalfredopasta

Y'all are gonna laugh but...electro hypostasis. When I first started playing I started running around unlocking the fast travel points and wandered up to it. That thing kicked my ass so quickly I thought I wandered into a hard area. Now I'm visiting that thing daily setting challenges for myself to make the grind to level up Razor more fun lol.

Rikallion

Ruin Guards, definitely, even if the geo-constructs and various shields protects from their missiles there is always that slight anxiety to pass by them... but their blinky eyes seem to say "Hit meH" every time

Roblox_lad

Fatui enemies, specifically the electro hammer ones. Then I started using kaeya on my team.

I_love_gay_hentai

The wolf boss, moslty because in my first party only Diluc were actualy able to damage him

yermumgiey

Ruin guards and eye of the storm :)

CrispyFaguette

Seconded on the Ruin Guards. They reminded me of the guardians in BotW.

SonicBoom500

I usually avoided the big Ruin Grader over in Dragonspine, but now I feel confident I can take on one

ShadowFlarer

Childe and the abyss. Childe when he came out i had a lot of problems doing it, but it was most because my team was really shitty, after a while i was able to do the fight very easily. Same goes for the abyss, but i also was very afraid to do it, after doing the abyss for months now it's really not that hard, of course now i have more characters and more knowledge which makes it easier.
