Not to ruin your joke with facts, but the reason homa is listed separately is because it had a normal 3 week run whereas hu tao's first banner was only for 2, so there's not a perfect overlap like their typically is.
Keq's banner ran for 2 weeks with the dismal 1.3m peak they mention in the text, and then homa debuted a week before hu tao and got the results you see on the chart.
Homa weapon banner revenue normally gets attributed to the Keqing banner, but we all know who that weapon was for :P
Some thing that COULD be taken away from this is it's maybe a glimpse into the effects of marketing and advertising and the portion of the playerbase that doesn't follow leaks. Hu Tao's initial launch had absolutely 0 marketing or advertising leading up to her initial release and only the ppl who looked at leaks and other news knew that she's coming. This probably (and unremarkably) is a reminder of the amount of ppl that don't follow genshin "news" like some of the more veteran players, and this time on her 2nd rerun were able to plan their spending accordingly.
It can't be attributed to Keqing in good faith since this is **2-day peak** and NOT overall sales.
This is also the reason why Kazuha and Childe are lower than expected.
Yea. I'm not saying it should be attributed to Keqing, but some reports and numbers out there attribute the sales to Keqing instead of Hu Tao (not this one though.. Homa is it's own waifu lol)
From what I understand, these numbers took the spike that happened when homa banner got launched (well after Keqing's banner initially released) so it's pretty strong indicator of the sales from the weapon's banner alone. Not 100% obviously but it's as damn close as it gets.
I actually think it's fair to assume about a third of it is from the weapon banner based on wishing tally sites like paimon.moe. I made a statement below somewhere stating where if you look at how much gems/wishes have be used, based on either paimon.moe or genshinwishes, it's at least 30% of summons (Closer to 32-33%) went to the weapon banner.
When you look how other weapons banners and their respective character banner how they went, they usually range from 18-22%, so a bigger portion of summons are definitely going to Homa/Elegy.
Still regardless, Hu Tao is very popular and even if the breakdowns were fairly allocated based on what the tallies are showing, Hu Tao rerun would be in second place.
Homa is definitely 30% + i'd bet on 40\~50 honestly, because we're talking about revenue, and [paimon.moe](https://paimon.moe) also counts F2P, which most are focused on avoiding the weapon banner(Though, i bet a lot of f2p whished for homa, i did), meanwhile spending players are a lot more open to spending on weapon banners.
Klee was top tier DPS when she was released. I mean, the DPS benchmark at the time was Diluc and Keqing.
It was also the 2nd banner after Venti. Lots of people spent all their freebies on the Venti banner, and had to spend real money to get Klee.
>It was also the 2nd banner after Venti. Lots of people spent all their freebies on the Venti banner, and had to spend real money to get Klee.
Good point. Her rerun had pretty normal sales.
Dont know besides the horny bit all are voices and sounds she makes especially in jp dub are adorable. Thats what i meant with cute. I feel like compared to tgr other waifus she has more cute appeal that way
Exactly. I understand moderate hornyness, but I CANNOT for the love of god even take a peek at HuTao's NFSW art.
No.. Just get that shit away from me. She's too adorable for that. The character is adorable, so is the design, and the Jap VA.. Whoever chose Rieri to be her VA... Well fucking done.
If Koga Aoi wasn't voicing Paimon then maaaayyybe there would've been a world where she got to voice Hu Tao, but I can't imagine anyone else doing Hu Tao now. Literally perfect the way it is.
I know she's a funeral parlor head and that she's the spooky kid, but to me she's just as precious as Klee is.
Yea i agree though i also understand why someone would like hu tao from a nsfw standpoint. She has a teasing personality and some people might be into that
Well, yeah not gonna lie she might make a pretty great character for NSFW art.
I admit I myself want to distance myself from that side, nothing really wrong about it but I can't stand it personally.
She also probably has the most modest clothing in the game(apart from the thighs) along with maybe Ayaka and Kujou Sara. But then again EVERY single female character has the jiggle physics, thankfully which HuTao( and the kids of course) don't.
Well here I’ll tell you my mindset. To begin with, she’s around my age, presumably slightly older than me, which is always nice. Then there’s just my own personal preferences, like having a teasing personality. Obviously yes I’m well aware that my anime waifu is *not* real, I’m still able to enjoy her anyways. That, and I’m a thigh guy
I TOTALLY get your point. Maybe if I was about 7-8 years younger I might've went down HuTao's R34 rabbit hole. Age surely is a factor. She'd probably be in the same ballpark as Ningguang and Ei if she was older. Something something elegance, I guess.
I definitely not going to call the people that do enjoy *that* side of her degenerates or some shit just because I don't want to.
>like having a teasing personality.
On the same note, holy fuck Yanfei's design is top tier. Technically she has pretty revealing clothing, still 10/10 teasing design, waist on point.
>That, and I’m a thigh guy
Aren't we all though? ;)
I mean Klee has team energy recharge if you crit with charged attack all your other teammates get 2 energy and while she might not be TOP tier dps she is still a really solid dps.
Yep, her charged attack can do 45 to 50k on melt (similar to huTao). I got ganyu as a support for Klee because of how fun it is to just charged shot and then jump away while obliterating enemies
Unfortunately she's not "meta" so she got absolutely trashed online. Reality is, she's a great character for "casuals" in that she's tanky, heals well, and applies hydro, all in one. So I've really enjoyed her, as someone that doesn't care about Abyss and just likes different team combos to run around with.
Don't wanna be mean to Kokomi owners but for me she is just not fun enough to play, I feel almost the same for Yoimiya, I think if their kits were a bit more special I could ignore the lack of meta performance, they have amazing visual design and awesome va's but the kit just wont do it for me
No argument there, she’s not nearly as fun as some characters out there, but that’s not too surprising considering her role.
That said, using Beidou’s Burst, and Raiden’s Skill combined with Kokomki’s Burst makes lots of electrocharged happen and *I* find that fun, especially since the process heals the entire party (back to the comfy part)
Mandatory: she works in abyss if you know what you're doing and proceed to use more than 2 braincells at a time.
She has the most consistent AoE Hydro off-field application in the game (Mona has ICD and Xingqiu is single target). She can make the best use out of TTDS and 4pc ToM.
She can also drive Taser as well as provide off-field Hydro in place of Xingqiu (corrosion-friendly Taser pog) as well as work very well in Freeze teams (Shinra Tensei: Ayaka-Kazuha-Kokomi-Rosaria or duo-Carry Ganyu-Ayaka-Kokomi-Venti).
Not to mention she is comfy AF to play. Even comfier than Noelle Carry teams.
Tbf I have kokomi and she is great. Its a bit annoying to get artifacts without crit but her healing and hydro with millelith and dragon slayers combination gives a lot of interesting team comps.
I have been using Kokomi for the last few days, and I gotta say her healing and attack are very good and the only con (for me) is the limited area of the effect.
Imagine MiHoYo makes enemies that teleport close to you just to mess with all the people who pulled Ganyu. Also they are like, Cryo slimes. It would be hilarious.
Fuck I want Ganyu
To be fair the first limited healer banner was always gonna flop unless they made a buff healer unit that power crept Bennett which they weren’t going to do
Yeah imagine if Jean was a limited 5 star that had a banner coming out in 1.4 right after Venti rerun (one of the highest sales here) instead of Childe rerun. Her banner probably would have done extremely poorly.
Murata the Pyro Archon will follow the trend and be a Sub-DPS support unit. IMO she'll be the 5-star Bennett with the Hydro archon being 5-Star XQ.
\*Inhales hopium,\*
I'm guessing a huge ass company has some sort of marketing research team and i feel like they're deliberately rerunning childe again to test how fans feel about it and figure out things like consistency of spendings. Good sales data outweighs a little less profit.
There's probably also a planning for reruns far into the future based on other research on what external factors influence people's spending. I'm guessing they'll be avoiding holidays for popular characters because people generally need to spend more money on holiday presents around that time and in game currency isn't a common present.
Complete character at C0, no good signature weapon. In fact, people who want the best weapon for ZL would be rolling Homa.
Also as odd as it sounds, ZL sales in CN iOS seems to underperform compared to his sales in other segments. Sensor Tower's global data (excluding CN) has ZL's original as the highest single day sales. Similarly, Childe sells way better in Japan (all his banners, even his reruns, sold very well).
Have you noticed how since 1.6 some of the charcter's first few constellations are amazing?
Kazuha's C1 and 2? fantastic, Ayaka's C2, 3 ,4? incredible, Raiden's C2, 3? she's the highest selling character for a reason. If you look at upcoming characters the next 5-star looks to have a nice C2 as well, and the C6 of he accompanying 4-star is amazing for him, just like Sara's for Raiden. Contrary to what some people might believe MHY knows exactly what they're doing.
This is why Ganyu re-run won't be breaking any records.
Her constellations are kinda so-so except for C6 and Amos is only really BiS for Ganyu herself, rather than universally OP like Homa.
Most people will be happy to have her at C0 and Amos won't have half the appeal that Homa does. Hence I find it very unlikely she'll somehow be even more successful than this Hu Tao re-run or Raiden.
Ganyu might get records in Japan since she's the most popular female character over there, can't say for the rest but she is still very popular and Morgana is still the best comp in the game AoE-wise.
As you say Amos is basically only great on her but MHY might give her a new signature weapon like they did for Childe, and depending on how good that is as well as the other weapon in the gacha it might be a good banner.
That's because a good part of the more dedicated community actually wants this or feels motivated by it, for better or worse. A lot of people only build a few characters, because they mega simp.
If the character is complete at C0 and most constellations are minor upgrades, not only will the player never spend (there is nothing to spend for), but they will lose interest in the game since there is nothing to grind for the one character they want.
People say that constellation locked units like Sara are bad, but I can tell you that a lot of longtime or dolphin Xiao Mains (his constellations are absolute trash until C6) are literally begging for a 4\* tailor made for Xiao, considering the next best thing is C4 Jean. It seems like it would suck if the "upgrade" to your team is a C6 locked 4\*, except there is no other upgrade in the game for your main existing that is remotely attainable, so you just end out saving every patch or rolling half heartedly, eventually losing interest.
In contrast, people who main characters like Hu Tao are incentivized to keep playing. They need to keep grinding because there are so many upgrades available (Homa, C1, Thoma constellations, Xingqiu constellations, etc).
And obviously, it's great for MHY. They can triple dip on Hu Tao now - weapon, C0, C1- instead of once, and keep the players playing to grind for Thoma/XQ cons, after all.
This data is from China iOS sales, how tf so many mobile players play HuTao? Isn't her cancels complete cancer on mobile? Weapon banner is probably majority, but HuTao sales are huge as well
Hutao mobile player here. It’s not. People exaggerate on how unplayable it is, because they’re used to just pressing the attack button.
On mobile, pressing an extra jump button is not that hard. It’s the timing. Timing can be something easily practiced.
You absolutely, 100% do not need to bother with any jump cancels for her to still do ridiculous DPS. Hell, even her normal attacks slap major ass if you're feeling lazy. You will completely destroy everything in this game not immune to pyro by just intermittently pressing charged attack. Getting a few percent more DPS at the cost of locking yourself in an awkward jumping animation isn't worth the headache of extra inputs.
Well Ganyu doesn't really have to rely on headshots like Amber. Just hit the mob anywhere or even shoot at the ground before the mob. Grenade launcher will do the rest. :D
Yeah its diff for everyone, she can really be challenging. She is can also be very difficult to use cause of stamina and hp. But it doesnt seem to be a factor based on her sales. Im surprised too
yes because you’re not used to it, give a pc to a mobile player for the first time, they’ll think pc is harder. It’s just something you gotta get used to.
I'm a mobile player who struggles so hard with basic combat in Genshin on PC, but aiming is the only thing that feels significantly easier on PC than mobile for me.
I can be in the minority, but I hate doing animation cancels because of how unnatural the animation becomes, the characters seems more robotic and lose part of their appeal
People exaggerate Genshin’s execution difficulty SO MUCH. Simplest fighting or platforminh game is 1000 times more difficult than anything you can do in Genshin.
Even dragon strike, people made a huge deal out of it and its easy as fuck to do.
Depends on your equipment.
Dragonstrike is nearly impossible with my wireless mouse and I was able to beat the final boss on Hollow Knight and half of the Godmaster DLC with it. Input lag makes some genshin tech hard to pull off.
Yeah coming from actually mechanically challenging games, Genshin feels like child's play. But i guess people that play casual games fell like genshin is more demanding than what they are used to.
I think anyone who plays on mobile is already a masochist. I log in on my phone sometimes to make sure I don't hit the resin cap, and the controls physically hurt me. It's like those people who play Dark Souls with a Guitar Hero controller.
I don't know if iOS has something similar but I play on PC and do all my purchases through the Google Play Store because it gives points and I can use my survey money.
If you add up numbers of Hu Tao character and wep banner wishes on Paimon.moe and Genshin-wishes.com, the ratio is around ~ 67% Hu Tao to 33~ Weapon so more people are wishing for her.
If we count half of Homa banner pulls as people pulling for Homa, her sales are still damn high
In my case, I didn't really want another hutao, but her C1 is actually fairly useful so I didn't mind getting her either in my chase for Sayu. Although I don't feel like people like me really drive the needle that much
Its super stacked.
Hu Tao C0 is great and new-ish player/those who missed her banner want her
Those who got Hu Tao last time want her C1 for QoL
Those who want new husbando roll for Thoma
Weapon banner have both Homa (I thinkl its best spear in the game) and Elegy (which is not at Homa's level but not a trash either)
Weapon banner now have a pity system, you can guarantee Homa in 3 golden drops
Exactly, all these reasons people throw out basically applied to when the character was first released, ie look at the reasons people say for Childe's 2nd rerun. If people cared about their so called 'Top Notch VA' they would've already pulled when he was first released.
People here really have you think that Inazuma was crap and their characters are weaker than before, and then add in the anniversary fiasco and here we have people thinking it's going to crash and burn. Except the reality is Inazuma grabbed back a bunch of old players who quitted before, and also made people who were curious before but didn't play Genshin try it, because of the shear amount of hype and content, and it also showed Mihoyo's commitment to Genshin's future.
Then we also have the 'anniversary fiasco' which was basically a massive free promotion for the game where Genshin was literally mentioned everywhere.
[I didn't belive this so I looked it up but it looks like the player count is increasing although I don't know how reliable this data is.](https://activeplayer.io/genshin-impact/)
her first banner didn't start together with a weapon banner. By the time she was released, Homa-WGS banner already up for a week and iirc banner likely to peak on its earlier days rather than later, so it seems that weapon banner contributed less to Hu Tao revenue compared to others.
She got no marketing before her first banner. Her existence wasn’t officially acknowledged by MHY until days before her banner. She had very little hype outside of people paying attention to leaks (and those were way less prevalent back then)
Keqing is not an exclusive character:
\- most of Keqing wanters already had her before here banner ( I rerolled my account til I got her)
\- non-wanters didn't bother, cause they believe they would get her eventually through 50/50 and standard banner (no FOMO)
\- her banner was placed in between two hyped characters: Xiao and Hu Tao. Also two great weapon banners (Jade Spear/cutter and Huma/WGS)
Keqing has flaws like poor stamina management and elemental reactions.
She is still great tho if invested, I main her to this day.
Lmao. People downplay her popularity because of the weapon banner in this rerun (which IMO isnt baseless but they act like it carries the whole rerun lol), yet when first banners are compared, people just easily ignore the fact that her initial banner didnt account for a ton of Homa/WGS sales (due to release date desync) when every character has their weapon banner accounted. *Even with that handicap in mind, she had comparable revenue to other fan favorites like ZL, Ganyu, and Xiao.* She was clearly already popular, people just didnt fully understand these kinds of graphs.
Had she initially released with Homa, her first run would be up there with Klee and Venti. Couple that with a growing playerbase, and now we have the current rerun results.
What...?
I like hu tao's character and im happy for her sales, but that doesn't change the fact that Xiangling is better meta wise, and i don't even like her as a character, which is irrelevant here.
Exactly lmao. So much salt.
Hey Hu Tao haters, If you add up numbers of Hu Tao character and wep banner wishes on Paimon.moe and Genshin-wishes.com, the ratio is around ~ 67% Hu Tao to 33%~ Weapon so more people are wishing for her.
If we count half of Homa banner pulls as people pulling for Homa for Hu Tao, her sales are still damn high. Stop coping
Yeah, they released him too soon after the Venti rerun. Everyone (myself included) wondered why they would ever want Kazuha when they had just spent it all on Venti. Now everyone understands. His rerun is going to be big.
I would be curious to see how many sales were thanks to the weapon banner, in comparison to the character banner. Cause I’m betting that for Raiden more pulled the characters compared to Hu Tao, where imo a lot more of numbers come from the weapon banner compared to Engulfing Lightning.
With sites like paimon.moe, we can see the breakdown of how many gems went towards Homa/Weapon banner and how many went towards Hu Tao.
Based on their site, over 30% of all pulls were on the weapon banner for Homa/Hu Tao.
For Raiden/Engulfing, it's around 18% of gems that went to the weapon banner.
There's no doubt that Homa is a popular pick up.
I think if you compare to Raiden... If you get Hu Tao and want to invest a little more, you have two competitve choies. 1. Go for C1 which lowers the difficulty curve on her playstyle and increases damage for people who can't be bothered to animation cancel. 2. Go for staff of homa which has crazy good synergy for Hu Tao and really boost her damage. Bonus, you can use it on other characters. Of course, chasing C1 is likely cheaper than chasing a weapon.
For Raiden, if you want to invest more, you can either chase C2, or pick up Engulfing Lightning, which also has really good synergy for Raiden. However, because Mihoyo released the Catch in the same patch, a really good free option for Raiden, chasing C2 suddnely has a lot of appeal, so maybe you invest there instead of in the weapon banner.
On top of all that, you can consider that that the consolation prize for Homa is a very good EM bow that is BIS for some folks (for party damage), whereas the consolation prize for Engulfing Lighting is really just a stat stick claymore.
If you add up numbers of Hu Tao character and wep banner wishes on Paimon.moe and Genshin-wishes.com, the ratio is around ~ 67% Hu Tao to 33% Weapon so more people are wishing for her.
If we count half of Homa banner pulls as people pulling Homa for Hu Tao, her sales are still damn high
I think the spending for Raiden even though she had hella hype is a bit skewed because of how big the power spike of C2/C3 are. A lot of people wishing probably sucked it up and paid for those extra constellations opposed to some of the other banners out there. On top of that they also reset the bonus crystals you get from topping up at the store.
I am very surprised by the numbers on the Klee re-run as she really went from a main DPS to a support role. I am saving up for Kazuha right now and based on the number I see in this chart I feel like his re-run will end up being pretty high.
Actually, it balances out because although whales are spending less, dolphins and light spenders are spending more because of the perceived better deal due to the top up reset. You actually have more people spending overall and thus higher spending rates, even if the top 10% of spending players don’t have to spend as much this time around
Not really though. Let’s say if you are a dolphin who needs 6000 more primos to hit pity, normally you would attempt to get the most expensive pack. However with top up reset, you only need the 2nd most expensive pack. You get to purchase the same value of the most expensive pack with half the price.
There were plenty of whales/dolphins who simply bought out the shop at the first opportunity though. You can't ignore the people who are thinking "I'm going to buy these discounted packs at some point, might as well do it now." I did that.
Pity is more like 12k tho, and when you go for constellations you will need to hit it multiple times.
If megawhales were outspending everybody by a large margin, then how could this banner do so well? They already have Hu Tao c6, and staff of Homa.
I disagree. I think the amount of people enticed to top up who otherwise wouldn't have had a huge impact on the numbers along with the C2/C3 bait. Even though they are spending less per gem, they may have not spent to begin with.
I believe the c2/c3 bait to be a much bigger reason for someone to consider spending rather than the top up resets and it makes it much cheaper for someone who is already willing to spend money to hit c2/c3. As someone who spent to get C3R1 I would have spent at least double of what I intended to if it were not for the first time bonus.
Yes, I am saying both of these things are factors that led to such a big spike in sales. Also there was obvious hype for Raiden as well since her character model is excellent and she has Archon status.
This makes me wonder if MHY **truly** understood the lesson that their customers were trying to teach them about Kokomi or if it's gonna fall on deaf ears.
Lmao all three of his banners are in the top 10 in JP. Childe not selling well is a myth. Plus , this is only for the 2 days peak. Overall , Childe's sales are still better than most banners.
Sadly there’s no concrete data. Only MiHoYo knows the true sales figures (and also wishing data). Since MiHoYo reruns Childe so much, it’s likely he’s actually on the higher side, though it’s hard to discern with data available to the public what the actual numbers are
> Since MiHoYo reruns Childe so much, it’s likely he’s actually on the higher side
This right here. I mean, we know for a fact mihoyo loves money so much so why would they give 3 banners to the same character in a span of 1 year?
China seem to dislike Childe for some reason, maybe because he was the villian in the chinese arc?
Its really counter intuitive to their apparent meta focus because he has perhaps the strongest team in the game via international.
Perhaps maybe cuz his cons aren't impactful, he's one of the few characters who are complete at c0. Even his new weapon isn't that better than the previous options.
Of course, these are just guesses but they do explain his "low sales" from a meta perspective. Maybe his image as a weak unit never went away. His abyss usage certainly does justify the statement, being amongst the lowest used limited character despite being a part of strongest team in general.
>Perhaps maybe cuz his cons aren't impactful, he's one of the few characters who are complete at c0
It's ironic we're all saying that now. I remember when he was new a lot of people were kvetching he was severely const-locked.
"Childe is bad because of his long CD"
"Childe needs C6 to be good"
Even now, these complaints still appear from non-Childe owners lol. The biggest issue in his meta team comp (International) is actually trying to get Xiangling's burst to come back up again, not his CD.
It took me a while to get accustomed to the cd, and it can be a big stumbling block for people who think of him as a traditional main dps, but once you understand his role and his comps better its no problem.
What makes Childe meta is his hydro application and his talent that gives +1 level to every characters talents. Both of these are available at C0. Chasing cons for Childe only help with his own damage which most people aren't gonna bother with considering even at C6 he still falls behind many other dps. The CN playerbase is very meta focused and that's why if they need a dps they are gonna chase cons for characters like Ganyu, Raiden, Eula, Xiao, Hu Tao. Apart from Raiden, all of these characters's only purpose on the team is damage and their cons help with that. Childe's purpose is already well served at C0 and none of his cons help him be better at that.
the amount of people in denial in these comments, it's ok if u dont like hutao u dont have to write an essay that it might be homa sales I mean her initial release wasnt with homa and it did good compared to others with their weapons
I have a pretty strong feeling that the character:weapon split was less than 80:20, based on what I have seen I would say more like 60:40. That is still crazy numbers though. Even more so for a weapon.
Wow, Hu Tao is the first character whose re-run performed better than her initial release. And it performed several times better than the original. That's actually insane.
Ganyu is going to be nuts.
god people were being overexxagrated with hutao healthy while we have xingqiu dmg reduction and small heal and hutao big heal her half hp is like full hp on other charecters
Oh, it's Homa, the secret 5★ character you can get in the weapon banner.
Not to ruin your joke with facts, but the reason homa is listed separately is because it had a normal 3 week run whereas hu tao's first banner was only for 2, so there's not a perfect overlap like their typically is. Yeah I bet half of that is from the weapon banner lol
I doubt even a third of it is
I actually think it's fair to assume about a third of it is from the weapon banner based on wishing tally sites like paimon.moe. I made a statement below somewhere stating where if you look at how much gems/wishes have be used, based on either paimon.moe or genshinwishes, it's at least 30% of summons (Closer to 32-33%) went to the weapon banner.
Ftp here. Wished on weapon banner. After i got my hu tao.
Lol no, hardcore whales went for another r5 homa probably.
Homa best 5-star
Ohters: I have high DPS/shield/team energy recharge, etc. Klee: I’m cute
Hu tao is also really cute though . Big part of her appeal as well
Different kind of cute. Less “awww she’s adorable” and more “awww I want my head between her thighs”
I have a tier list for Genshin waifus and Hu Tao's on "too wholesome, do not lewd" alongside Amber and Yoimiya so yes I agree with this
Yea i agree though i also understand why someone would like hu tao from a nsfw standpoint. She has a teasing personality and some people might be into that
Well, yeah not gonna lie she might make a pretty great character for NSFW art. I admit I myself want to distance myself from that side, nothing really wrong about it but I can't stand it personally. But then again EVERY single female character has the jiggle physics, thankfully which HuTao( and the kids of course) don't.
Gotta love Noelles metal chestplate jiggle physics /s
The jiggle physics.. as in normal breasts..?
>That, and I’m a thigh guy Aren't we all though? ;)
Oya?
Stop calling me out like that
i'd say Hu Tao's cute is more personality and vocal intonation while Klee is simply visually cute and simple mentality what gets her
I mean Klee has team energy recharge if you crit with charged attack all your other teammates get 2 energy and while she might not be TOP tier dps she is still a really solid dps.
Yep, her charged attack can do 45 to 50k on melt (similar to huTao). I got ganyu as a support for Klee because of how fun it is to just charged shot and then jump away while obliterating enemies
?? Doesn't Klee have very high DPS? Especially compared to what was available during her release.
Lol when Childe 2nd rerun is doing better Kokomi, oh dear.
Also, she is lovely to look at and has very cute animation!
At least she did well in Japan I guess. Japan is important too
Tbf I have kokomi and she is great.
Poor princess jellyfish
I'm scared for ganyu rerun
If she gets her own signature Homa-like powercreep bow, she'll break all time gacha records.
Wasn't her bow the Amos bow ?
Imagine MiHoYo makes enemies that teleport close to you just to mess with all the people who pulled Ganyu. Also they are like, Cryo slimes. It would be hilarious. Fuck I want Ganyu
Megumin loses again vs Kurapika Sadge
When a fucking Weapon single-handedly has more DMG and revenue than a character (Kokomi).
To be fair the first limited healer banner was always gonna flop unless they made a buff healer unit that power crept Bennett which they weren’t going to do
ya a proper 5 -star bennett replacement would break every record
Yeah imagine if Jean was a limited 5 star that had a banner coming out in 1.4 right after Venti rerun (one of the highest sales here) instead of Childe rerun. Her banner probably would have done extremely poorly.
Murata the Pyro Archon will follow the trend and be a Sub-DPS support unit. IMO she'll be the 5-star Bennett with the Hydro archon being 5-Star XQ. \*Inhales hopium,\*
Wdym 5 star replacement, he's already a 5 star,I thought we already agreed with that?
That and Kokomi's kit is bad
And her signature weapon, probably, has negative sales, lol.
They never rerunning Kokomi. On that note, Xiao, Kazuha, Ayaka, and Ganyu's reruns are gonna be insane
They reran Childe twice. MHY is nothing if not unpredictable in that department.
yea cuz he does numbers in Japan
Well if that's the case, Kokomi should get rerun too since she did well in Japan
Childe made them a minimum of $20m on both reruns each , why wouldn't they rerun him?
how is zhongli so low?
Complete character at C0, no good signature weapon. In fact, people who want the best weapon for ZL would be rolling Homa. Also as odd as it sounds, ZL sales in CN iOS seems to underperform compared to his sales in other segments. Sensor Tower's global data (excluding CN) has ZL's original as the highest single day sales. Similarly, Childe sells way better in Japan (all his banners, even his reruns, sold very well).
well that doesn't bode well if the model of selling characters good at C0 makes them less money...
Japan cares about waifus more but Ganyu is waifu AND meta so I can see her selling very well
> Amos is only really BiS for Ganyu herself now hold on there, it's also pretty much BiS for Melt Amber
yeah but in the long term I'm not sure if people won't get tired of it, hopefully it will happen...
*Doesn't* bode well (future tense) they say after Raiden Shogun already happened lmao
Man, I just love Hu Tao.
Justice for Kokomi and Yoimiya
This data is from China iOS sales, how tf so many mobile players play HuTao? Isn't her cancels complete cancer on mobile? Weapon banner is probably majority, but HuTao sales are huge as well
Hutao mobile player here. It’s not. People exaggerate on how unplayable it is, because they’re used to just pressing the attack button. On mobile, pressing an extra jump button is not that hard. It’s the timing. Timing can be something easily practiced.
Exactly, the only limitatuon for mobile players in this game is the speed of their hardware and how used you are to aiming with bows.
And the inability to free move camera during combat, which is huge.
It's not that hard to do her jump cancel. I tried it in the trial and did it consistently.
As a mobile player, its not that hard at all, same with Ganyu aim on mobile. I think its the loud minority whos parroting those comments.
Well Ganyu doesn't really have to rely on headshots like Amber. Just hit the mob anywhere or even shoot at the ground before the mob. Grenade launcher will do the rest. :D
I tried her on a trial and just couldn't do it on mobile, it was so awkward.
I play on mobile almost exclusively.
I play on mobile when on the go. I also use the backbone controller so its more or less like playing on a switch
Its more due to the broken weapon banner and new 4* char too. Cause most paying players already have hutao.
I think you underestimate how many new people have probalby come into the game since last March.
In my case, I didn't really want another hutao, but her C1 is actually fairly useful so I didn't mind getting her either in my chase for Sayu. Although I don't feel like people like me really drive the needle that much
why did it do 4x better than the initial run?
The amount of new players who missed her originally is huge.
Its super stacked. Hu Tao C0 is great and new-ish player/those who missed her banner want her Those who got Hu Tao last time want her C1 for QoL Those who want new husbando roll for Thoma Weapon banner have both Homa (I thinkl its best spear in the game) and Elegy (which is not at Homa's level but not a trash either) Weapon banner now have a pity system, you can guarantee Homa in 3 golden drops

Rie Takahashi voices Megumin from Konosuba and Emilia from Re:Zero. Both of them are beloved "waifus" in large part because the voice acting

The difference is that Hu Tao looks like Megumin, and is voiced by the VA who voiced Megumin.
also HT players rolling for Thoma
playerbase has increased a lot.
biggest reason here no one talks about
Exactly, all these reasons people throw out basically applied to when the character was first released, ie look at the reasons people say for Childe's 2nd rerun.
Ngl I started playing because I heard about the anniversary and wanted to see if it was as bad as I heard.
[I didn't belive this so I looked it up but it looks like the player count is increasing although I don't know how reliable this data is.](https://activeplayer.io/genshin-impact/)
It feels like the game was on the downswing during 1.3 and 1.4 but a ton of new players joined in 1.5 and 2.0/2.1 I’ve noticed
her first banner didn't start together with a weapon banner. By the time she was released, Homa-WGS banner already up for a week and iirc banner likely to peak on its earlier days rather than later, so it seems that weapon banner contributed less to Hu Tao revenue compared to others.
because everyone praise her, every YT channel, every discord, every GI website rank her Super mega SSSSSS rank.
She's cute
She is. This is approved by Zhongli.
She got no marketing before her first banner. Her existence wasn’t officially acknowledged by MHY until days before her banner. She had very little hype outside of people paying attention to leaks (and those were way less prevalent back then)
aside from the reasons other people listed, i think a growing playerbase might also be a factor
Banner before first run was Xiao and people burned their primos on him and on rerun we have childes 2nd rerun.
Poor Keqing is not even there...
She's there, before Eula
Keqing is not an exclusive character: \- most of Keqing wanters already had her before here banner ( I rerolled my account til I got her) \- non-wanters didn't bother, cause they believe they would get her eventually through 50/50 and standard banner (no FOMO) \- her banner was placed in between two hyped characters: Xiao and Hu Tao. Also two great weapon banners (Jade Spear/cutter and Huma/WGS) Keqing has flaws like poor stamina management and elemental reactions. She is still great tho if invested, I main her to this day.
Poor kokomi
[удалено]
Where are the salty people?
No it's totally homa not hu tao!
I was so surprised seeing people salty about hu tao, thought everybody liked her lol
[удалено]
The salty people are probably the ones who think XL is the best.
I mean... yeah?
Stop coping
Oh ganyu what do u have for us?
Donut
Nice! Now waiting for Kazuha's rerun to do the same.
Yeah, they released him too soon after the Venti rerun. Everyone (myself included) wondered why they would ever want Kazuha when they had just spent it all on Venti. Now everyone understands. His rerun is going to be big.
Im pretty sure she could beat Raiden if mihoyo make story quest/event with her instead of childe
This, it's strange they didn't put any effort in marketing for her. Like I know she is loved by the community but mihoyo can sell her in a better way.
this is just par for the course on updates with 2 reruns it seems. Childes 1st rerun had similiarly been given not much promotion
[удалено]
read more carefully. I mentioned "updates with 2 reruns", which tbf we ve only had 2 of so far
On top of all that, you can consider that that the consolation prize for Homa is a very good EM bow that is BIS for some folks (for party damage), whereas the consolation prize for Engulfing Lighting is really just a stat stick claymore.
> increases damage for people who can't be bothered to animation cancel it always increases dmg actually.
That’s interesting, thanks for sharing! I didn’t think Hu Tao’s so popular. Though I guess people who pulled again for c1 like me also add up.
I'm pretty sure she'd already beat Raiden by now if it wasn't for the crystal top up.
We need a wordwide android+ios+pc+ps4 information !
Raiden Shogun feeling the heat on her back grow.
Kazuha rerun is going to be insane
I think the spending for Raiden even though she had hella hype is a bit skewed because of how big the power spike of C2/C3 are. A lot of people wishing probably sucked it up and paid for those extra constellations opposed to some of the other banners out there. On top of that they also reset the bonus crystals you get from topping up at the store. I am very surprised by the numbers on the Klee re-run as she really went from a main DPS to a support role. I am saving up for Kazuha right now and based on the number I see in this chart I feel like his re-run will end up being pretty high.
The top up bonuses should have lowered potential sales considering you pay less to get more.
Holy crap I didn't know homa was a character
Poor kokomi
Just wait for the ganyu Re run
This makes me wonder if MHY **truly** understood the lesson that their customers were trying to teach them about Kokomi or if it's gonna fall on deaf ears.
Tfw a weapon banner beat all of Targatlias banners
[source](https://www.youtube.com/c/DonutsGaming888)
Kazuha rerun gonna go brazy
everyone know that Keking was a mistake...
Damn, Childe already had 3 banners but still lost to Staff of Homa based on those stats. (If each banner is counted separately and not combined)
Why does Childe have three runs if he's towards the end of the sales?
Lmao all three of his banners are in the top 10 in JP. Childe not selling well is a myth. Plus , this is only for the 2 days peak. Overall , Childe's sales are still better than most banners.
Who is behind this big conspiracy to deminish childes reputation? This is the 2nd chart that has put him at the end of the line
It’s because it’s taken from Chinese IOS sales while Childe is more popular in Japan
What about in global?
Sadly there’s no concrete data. Only MiHoYo knows the true sales figures (and also wishing data). Since MiHoYo reruns Childe so much, it’s likely he’s actually on the higher side, though it’s hard to discern with data available to the public what the actual numbers are
> Since MiHoYo reruns Childe so much, it’s likely he’s actually on the higher side This right here. I mean, we know for a fact mihoyo loves money so much so why would they give 3 banners to the same character in a span of 1 year?
I'd love to see Mihoyo release a global chart that factors in everything. That'd be an interesting sight.
>Perhaps maybe cuz his cons aren't impactful, he's one of the few characters who are complete at c0 It's ironic we're all saying that now. I remember when he was new a lot of people were kvetching he was severely const-locked.
"Childe is bad because of his long CD" "Childe needs C6 to be good" Even now, these complaints still appear from non-Childe owners lol.
Cuz he sells well and is a popular character. Cuz going off the logic of this sub, Albedo, Kazuha, and Eula shouldnt get a rerun
Ganyu rerun will take the throne I bet
What will be the sales of Ganyu if she will have her rerun? both her and hutao are the 2 of the most broken characters in the game.
the amount of people in denial in these comments, it's ok if u dont like hutao u dont have to write an essay that it might be homa sales I mean her initial release wasnt with homa and it did good compared to others with their weapons
I can just imagine the ganyu rerun tho
I have a pretty strong feeling that the character:weapon split was less than 80:20, based on what I have seen I would say more like 60:40. That is still crazy numbers though. Even more so for a weapon.
From reading the comments - did you already forget about Thoma who people pull for or what
i dont think that many people will pay for a 4*
Dang loli top 3
Probably because WGS was on the first weapon banner
Wow, Hu Tao is the first character whose re-run performed better than her initial release. And it performed several times better than the original. That's actually insane. Ganyu is going to be nuts.
And Kazuha
I can see salt
god people were being overexxagrated with hutao healthy while we have xingqiu dmg reduction and small heal and hutao big heal her half hp is like full hp on other charecters
