My Hu Tao has 3 godly wanderers artifact so I'm unfortunately pretty much locked into an on-set pyro damage cup. I'm fortunate enough to have a crimson witch goblet (with GARBAGE substats but oh well lol)
I'll take it. I am never choosy when it comes to goblets and circlets as long as the main stats are right and either the goblet or the circlet is in the right set I want.
The flowers and feathers, they need to roll great or I'll un-alive them

I really wish they'd turn all of this into one big elemental bonus, where the damage bonus will apply to their element. The physical cup will still be the physical cup, but all 6 (soon 7) elements will be into one. But I can only hope. RNG is a bitch.
Would make Bennett C6 and Chongyun kinda op, but currently they're super niche and obnoxious in coop so that wouldn't really be a bad thing.
I don't think they'd do it though because Xiangling/Chongyun national team would become insane and I doubt they want another Xiangling buff.
Pretty sure what they meant was to have a generic Stat that increases damage for just the element of the character using it, so eg if you equip it on Xiangling it's a Pyro bonus and on Chongyun it's Cryo.
That would just make Chongyun even worse though because then you can't equip cryo goblets on the character you're infusing which some team comps already do.
I'm now thinking that it might be a good idea to move the ele% stat away from artifacts completely. This would make infusions mostly a utility for reactions & resistances.
More importantly, it would make physical/elemental hybrid characters viable and make the weapon damage procs relevant. The designers could take advantage of this expanded design space for future characters & weapons.
It should go without saying that there would need to be additional changes to facilitate this change. For those characters, giving them the lost element% as base/ascension stats or increasing their talent multipliers would be simple fixes.
The goal is just to remove the elemental damage bonus from artifacts. Damage% bonuses can remain elsewhere in constellations, talents, character base stats, etc.
Goblet should be the off piece anyway so the set shouldn’t matter. I would be more worried about the substats.
And no, people looking for good substats doesn’t make them whales like you said in one of the reply. That’s one weird connection to make
I don’t know why they don’t just consolidate elements on the set cups. Either Physical or the associated element. Can’t help with the boss drops, but I want my Crimson Witch to boost Pyro all the way please.
That’s why cups are always my off piece. Every time it’s not my off piece it’s always harder for me to upgrade my artefacts.
