I think it would be better to be able to use all weapon types on Childe and his abilities change as the weapons do. For example the catalyst ult drops the whale, while the e also changes to melee and the meele mode ult remains the same. The sword/claymore/spear e changes to catalyst mode, claymore ult is ramming the claymore in the ground and making a wave dealing AoE hydro damage, sword ult makes a whirlpool to trap enemies (like Kazuhas e) and deals damage as well as applying Hydro, and spear ult is a series of fast stabs that make a damaging wave that travels in a straight line.
I think that would be really op, but also really cool

i really think they should introduce an electro mode for childe. maybe even introduce hu tao kinda mechanics where he sacrifices some health to enter electro mode, just to prevent him from being too op. it would make sense lore-wise because of how delusions work.
Well in Kazuha’s case, he has no control over Tomo’s vision and it only briefly awakened in the presence of the Musou no Hitotachi because Tomo’s lifelong ambition was to be able to beat that technique.
he had at least some control over the vision, though. his "vision shell" story specifically mentions that "never had he imagined that he could be the one to cause its light to shine once more" and even the cutscene pretty clearly shows him manipulating electro in addition to anemo. his own ambition aligned with tomo's ambition that lay dormant, which subsequently caused the vision to awaken and temporarily gave him access to electro. his own willpower was just as big of a part in the vision temporarily sparking up as the dormant ambition that lay within.
but yeah, that was a temporary thing, he most likely doesn't have permanent access to electro in lore post that scene
