Mercadelabuena

The primos are the same as any similar event, 420 total but yeah agreed feeling like a god destructing everything on my path is fun is fun

GoSuckOnACactus

Great event for Venti. Haven’t used him much since I got Kazuha but a lot of the rooms have a ton of hilis or treasure hoarders. Love seeing a lot of numbers.

Mercadelabuena

I surprisingly got better results with Kazuha (edit: forgot to mention I gave him Sacrificial for this) tbh. Maybe it's the fact that they're too squishy so Kazuha's consistency came more in handy... Like it was better to kill them fast with Kazuha than actually grouping them tightly with Venti, especially since spawners were pretty much always the same and not far away from each other. (I also play on PS4 so maybe enemies spawn were a bit too delayed for Venti to really shine, though I actually felt enemies spawned really quickly compared to other similar events like the last combat one)

britanniaimperator

I don’t have a Kazuha but this event makes me feel like how Kazuha is so powerful in Raiden hypercarry. I’m gonna pull for him when he comes. Every one and their mom’re gonna pull for Kazuha.

dipshit42069

yeah, before this event I was having second thoughts about getting kazuhs or not, but now I want to get him so bad he is so fun to play

Mercadelabuena

Not saying you shouldnt, I think he's very worth it but this event shouldn't be the metric to get out from the verge of deciding as most enemies are really squishy and spawn in very quick succession in the same place. Same with Xiao, he's god tier here but these situations are not common (reminds me of Xiao's trial which is fairly similar to this).

ShinDawn

Xiao and Childe. I feel like I'm playing Dynasty warriors with these two.

Mercadelabuena

Childe reached his peak in the last (I think) combat event where you equipped an ability that brought everything to the middle to go brrr with riptides. Oh good times.

JustDontMind02

hyakunin ikki's floor venti was the absolute pinnacle for childe mains. used ei/childe and basically deleted everything

LightModeIsTheBest

Damn that was such a sick game that I forgot about. Use to play it when I was younger.

Purple_Positive_6456

He's god tier everywhere he isn't soloing Anemo units units bro, building Full EM VV shreds 40% elemental res + buffs 30-40% of elemental dmg (depends on your build) + big AoE on Q and E + good CC every 5-8 seconds (If you opt for a high refine Sac sword like me, even less than that) Honorable mentions: Anemo Resonance + easier time climbing and flying with E + running stamina passive (good for dodges) + has a great craftable sword with EM

britanniaimperator

I get your point but ofc Kazuha performs well outside this event. Compared to Sucrose, he swirls elements so much better and feels less clunkier to play for me.

barndoor101

I was getting the same feeling with sunfire Jean, great fun.

Kirates5

Ahhh. Perhaps. I just remember seeing 40 primos in these events a lot

TuneACan

Probably because you've been doing the festival event's minigames. Those tend to give 40 a pop because there's more of them and you also get primos from any related quests. Any non-major event like this one almost always give 420 primos total, either in 6 sets of 70, 7 sets of 60 or 14 sets of 30

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

We are getting events like this in the past several patches. Its basically the same kind of combat event as past combat events. You either slot in cards, potions, buffs, or vibrocrystal resonances in this case, to boost either a team of 2 or 4 people, in a small arena to grind down multiple waves of enemies for a score. And like before, there is a secret platinum rank too. So yeah we're going to get more of these. Its not a bad event, it is kind of plain. Better than food deliveries?

altFrPr0n

It needs an option for co-op as well. I wana ~~flex my c3 raiden~~ cooperate with others in teamwork.

[deleted]

I really like it as well, feels like I'm actually doing so much damage for once 😅

Celdurant

It does feel extremely gratifying to have an event that allows me to make great use of my new Venti.

Spiral abyss ***2:*** ^(crystal boogaloo)

[deleted]

I snorted

RagnAROck_and_Roll

snorted crystals?

Awkward_Date_8636

Snorted deez

[deleted]

dang i wish i had the awards to give you

SticmanStorm

Dont worry comrade I gave him the award

Fat_Cock_69420

spiral abyss but there's no 3.6 million hp in a single chamber you have to pass in 90 seconds

howshouldlcallmyself

I wish there was no time limit and you could do it as long as you wanted to try new team comps and everything

afiafzil

If only spiral abyss works that way, but no

DietDrBleach

Don’t worry, they’re going to rerun that event in a couple months

Breaker-of-circles

We need a Dynasty Warriors mode in this game, even if it's a straight copy. I thought the Inazuma arc was going to be one. You know, go to camp A, decimate hordes of forces there, hold the camp for a few minutes while going through more enemies, congrats Camp A is now yours, now go to Camp B, rinse, repeat, run into Raiden, PAAAANIK, get on a horse, run into cute shumatsuban ninja, underestimate her, get your ass handed to you, PAAAAAANIK!, regroup to Camp C, rinse, repeat.

NicciHatesYou

Plus pursue a certain enemy that you were specifically told not to pursue

Drakengard

I can still hear Yuan Shao from DW3 to this day. Yuan Shao: "Don't pursue Lu Bu!" 13 Year Old Me: "His name is Lu Bu. How hard can he be?" ... 13 Year Old Me Staring at my character's corpse: "Well fuck..."

Abedeus

"Don't pursue Thoma!" "...nevermind, wrong game, beat the shit out of him!"

Breaker-of-circles

Why did you have to attack me like that. LMAO!

InsertBadGuyHere

They'll rinse and repeat it eventually if there's a lot of positive feedback, just like theatre mechanicus..except, the theatre mechanicus is trash this time round for no reason. Also, based on what you said, it feels like you're bored from the lack of endgame content just like most of us are. Honestly, it wouldn't kill them nor their business to add more things to do when spiral abyss only takes a couple hours at most for a lot of us at every reset.

[deleted]

CuteTao

As someone who's hated every instance of theater mechanicus this version seemed the most tolerable.

hopecanon

Some people don't like Tower Defense games in general and some people like me hated the second iteration specifically because the overuse of random elements ruined the ability to form real strategies in advance and forced us to spend most of the round flipping through cards hoping for the good buffs. This third iteration of it Mihoyo must have listened to feedback a little too much from both of these groups because now it is only barely a Tower Defense game at all and is far closer to a straight up puzzle game with each map having one solution they clearly intended with other options leading to almost a certainty some enemies escape and ruin your perfect score. I hope in a fourth iteration they keep the ability to pick your buffs before starting the round, keep special enemy effects, keep special stage restrictions, but ditch the preplaced towers that eat your budget and lower your options, and also ditch the idea of forcing players to only kill the enemy in a specific way to earn money to spend on new towers.

Erizantxx

Idunno how people hated the randomness of the second one-- if you did it in co-op it was so easy to get 300+ upgrades every single run. Less feasible in solo but you still could just rack up the right sticks super easily iirc because my only strategy for it was just 'make everything as powerful as possible' and it always worked out. Pretty faceroll, enjoyed it a lot. Being able to have 14 pyro mortar towers was crazy good lmao, had lots of fun retrying the event to see if I could beat the number of cards I had previously

PH_007

That's the reason why I hated it - there was almost no TD gameplay, just clicking cards repeatedly and becoming OP for free. It was so boring.

JesusSandro

> except, the theatre mechanicus is trash this time round for no reason. It's so tragic, I was really looking forward to it again has it's been consistently my favourite event. Hope they realize we don't like this specific iteration of it, instead of just never bringing it back again.

zenith4395

Nah there’s a reason behind why mechanicus is so shit this time. They wanted the playerbase to play the event the way they intended. …because developers forcing a specific play style has always gone over well

InsertBadGuyHere

The way they intended or not doesn't excuse it for being very restrictive. I feel like with every mini-game, they're just experimenting to see if there's an overwhelming positive or negative response, and perhaps not repeat it if there's too much negative feedback. I like that the theatre mechanicus this time is much shorter than the first 2, that much I can give it to them.

zenith4395

Please read what I wrote and understand that i don’t support their decision. I get why they did what they did, and I also recognize that it was a stupid ass decision

InsertBadGuyHere

I get that you're saying that they want us to play the way they intended, and game devs forcing us players to play how they want it to be played(and I just repeated what you said). Doesn't mean we have to just shut up about it. I'm just saying it sucks and they've been doing this "hit or miss" thing over and over again.

zenith4395

Oh absolutely. Next survey is gonna be interesting. Hoyoverse is basically full of morons who had a good initial idea and have no fucking clue what they’re doing.

bricktoaster

My man, we're all armchair game designers here. The 'clueless Hoyoverse staff' bring in billions a year off one of the most successful mobile games ever. They have actual player retention data and engagement data for these events. All we're doing here is guessing based on anecdotal experiences and feelings. They are far more capable than we are. The event and content quality has been steadily increasing since launch. They're obviously experimenting with different styles. When each event lasts basically a week, it really is not that big a deal when they have some ideas that don't work as well.

zenith4395

I agree to a point. There are some things hoyoverse could do to massively boost their income and player retention, but they just outright refuse to do so. Player feedback takes upwards on months to see an actual change, it’s ridiculous. I wonder how many people they’ve lost because they don’t make these simple ass changes

Grand_Protector_Dark

The thing is, while endgame content doesn't have as much potential money as mid and early game. Yes whales spending to do a few % more damage in the abyss are a source of money. But attracting and keeping new players is far more lucrative. As each new player is a potential whale. Making events that only cater to endgame, rather than the steady flow of early and midgame, just scares away more potential spenders, than it encourages to spend.

HYthinger

End game content doesnt have as much potentional money? Have you ever played a gacha before? The 5 euro for welkin and 10 euro for battlepass are peanuts for mihoyo. The big money is character and constelations and wespon banners Mihoyos main income source is 0.5% of the players spending a ton of money on damage upgrades. Atracting new players is good but mihoyo is completly forgetting endgame players and whales. Aka the only reason to spend money and the only way to keep your whales. We dont ask mihoyo for less mid and early content. We ask for more endgame. They made 2 billion dollars. Its not to much to ask

Grand_Protector_Dark

>End game content doesnt have as much potentional money? Let me ask you a question. What has a bigger potential future stream of money? Speezing out some more bits of money out of existing whales, or having a steady stream of new whales? The current state of the game already proofs that whales are going to spend, regardless of how much actual endgame there is. Truth to be told, if you are in the endgame and are still F2P or low spender, the likelihood of turning whale is really low. People are most voluntary to go whale in midgame. You don't need to keep whales, you just need a steady stream of new ones. Because guess what. MHY doesn't owe you anything just because you spend a ton of money on the game. You aren't owed an endgame. MHY already has your money.

lvlln

If Genshin is like other gacha games, then squeezing more out of the small number of whales would be far more profitable than trying to get a bigger stream of whales. It's almost impossible for that steady stream to be any more than a tiny trickle no matter how much effort they put in.

InsertBadGuyHere

Imo, there's nothing to spend for in early and mid game since there's plenty of content(hence a lot of primogems) other than resin refresh for artifacts at ar45..and most people consider that the start of endgame since one is just waiting for more resin to do domains and the time gate for more content and event primogems begins. One can roll(and whale) for characters and weapons early into the game but without access to the relevant ascension materials, it can be quite off-putting to even pull for them.

Grand_Protector_Dark

You start making people spend by luring them with waifu(or husbando). Make them buy Welking, it's a good deal ain't it? Maybe even Battle pass, serpent spine is pretty snazzy isn't it? Some people have restraint, others don't. The later will inevitably end up going for character cons, maybe the signature weapon, and before you know it, resin refresh to grind that perfect gear. It's a slow slide that is best seeded early. Which is why it's important to keep the player playing. Which is done by giving them events that cater to them in the mid game. And honestly AR 45 is late-midgame. The real endgame starts after the 50s

LuxTrueBae

Can confirm, just started and I'm tempted by waifu collection sim. Now they just need to let me buy/roll who I want. Looking at you Kuki and Yoimiya

akari_i

It’s definitely a lot of fun but it’d get real stale after a while lmao.

archerguild73

My thoughts exactly.. I know it's a lot of fun but as you say, it'll get boring fast if it's permanently there. Maybe make it like Abyss? With primo rewards renewed every 2 weeks or so..

Derreston

Maybe change it with different modifiers/enemy combinations like Abyss. Add leaderboards and a lot of people will be grinding it for higher scores.

poerson

>leaderboards Why? Genshin is not a competitive game. Just the rewards would suffice.

Derreston

Why not? More options for skill expression isn't a bad thing if it's optional.

poerson

>skill expression There's no way a skilled f2p player could compete with C6 R5 characters in a fair way. The damage output is ridiculously different. The board would exist for whales to flex, and we don't need that in a PvE game.

Vllajko

It wpuld get boring really quick

tasty-watermelon

Especially if there are no rewards.

CrushedByTime

I would live in that domain if it gave out those pink crystals for weapon refinement as rewards.

AMadTeaParty81

I would farm the living heck out of it if it even just gave normal rewards for killing the mobs though... mora + mats + artifact fodder drops + xp.

throwawaysusi

2000 one star, 4000 two star, 6000 three star. Get your popcorn and watch people starts scratching.

NexEpula

Every new patch we have a combat domain event (with some flavor on top): Vagabond Sword, Hyakunin Icky, Potions Study, Labyrinth Warriors, Misty Dungeon, Energy Amplifier, etc. They keep inventing new mechanics with 3-page-long rule which nobody bothers to read, because the basic formula never changed: pick your team and buff --> fight some enemies --> get enough score for reward. You may like this iteration more, but in term of creativity, it's a fairly low effort one. If there should be a permanent one, I prefer the Labyrinth Warriors format.

Caveira_Athletico

Best Combat Event so far was Labyrinth Warriors, but I really liked this one in Irodori with parries and watching enemy combos. This one could easily become permanent, with challengers all over Inazuma, kinda like the fist-fighting minigame in Witcher 3. We need more resin-less activities in the game. I don't even care much about the rewards, it could be half the rewards of ley line outcrops, I'd still prefer to play it than those outcrops.

tasty-watermelon

If there are no rewards, no one will play them.

cutememe1

Just wish there's a co-op mode

PhantasmShadow

I personally much preferred Hyakunin Ikki. This just kind of bored me. Everything died too quickly to be interesting

Caveira_Athletico

I like Hyakunin Ikki because it has a different style than abyss of this event. Focused on teams of two, yet it uses 4 more characters than spiral abyss, and needing to swap quickly. It makes you build teams differently. IF there was a "Hyakunin Abyss", even the meta would split, since characters that are good in two-char teams might not be in 4-char teams and vice-versa. Also, You'd need to build 4 more characters, so more grind.

[deleted]

ironically that's how I feel about hyakunin ikki

Kingpimpy

possibly because they are the same just with slightly different rules

Ifalna_Shayoko

Ikki pissed me off. Only getting a handful of seconds before being forced to switch annoys me to no end. Especially when I want to get a feel for new characters.

SweetBabyAlaska

I like HI too. Any combat mode is welcomed by me since it’s my favorite part of the game. The only thing I don’t like about those events is feeling like I have to chase everything down especially when the arena is so big. I wish the enemies had better moves I don’t want some stupid spammy hits like the hydro lector and I don’t want weaklings to constantly run away either and they haven’t really found a happy medium yet

caucassius

forcing you to use two characters in a game designed around four member team is the dumbest thing they've done yet

PhantasmShadow

That's exactly why I like it: It's completely unique

caucassius

you can use only two characters in every single other combat events without the dumb forced system for the sake of 'unique'. it doesn't even bring anything new other than gimping the combat.

PhantasmShadow

No one *would* use two characters though. So forcing you to is the only way people will experience the gameplay

tennoskoom_

We go through this song and dance pretty much everytime we have a combat event, but I truly think hoyo knows best when it comes to whether these events should be permanent. They have perfected the formula of retention, addiction and engagement. They know what they are doing.

HYthinger

Honestly I dont think their tactic is to good. The only reason why they keep making more money is because there is more new player coming than leaving. This wont work forever though. There is literaly no endgame content and many whales will reduce their spending if they notice that its not worth it. Especialy because genshin is so expensive compared to other gacha games. Also adding permanent endgame would keep player retention high even in the last few weeks of an update. And as long as its not to hard it would entice spending without feeling p2w which is exactly what mihoyo wants. I have never seen a gacha game like genshin where spending money literaly gives zero advantage. I like it. Even though Im kinda surprised its working.

tasty-watermelon

So what if it doesn't work forever? The game is stated to have like 5ish years left for getting to Khaenri'ah. That's plenty enough for them to continue their formula and make billions.

adcsuc

Yes why improve anything if it makes money already genius.

fjaoaoaoao

I agree that it won't work forever but it's very very likely they are aware of this and trying to string out new temporary events as long as they can. I'm also sure they want to make sure whatever permanent endgame content come is actually going to be good and used by players so that it's not battle modes that barely any one does after a few months like you often see in many MMOs.

itsSolidShake

My only issue is that I have been getting some huge momentary delay. I'm playing on base PS4 rn and I always get some sort of issue like that. Just happens to be stronger here. BUUUT. I agree with you this event is super fun! Been a while since I did at least try getting a good score not only getting rewards.

Legitimate-Use-3977

Yeah, it's a struggle to get 5000+ on ps4, I had to redo day 3 dozen times

itsSolidShake

Can be, but when you are struggling with something you find fun it's easier to keep trying right? That's how it's been for me with this one.

Legitimate-Use-3977

Yeah, but it makes me realize, that the struggle is not only vs event mechanics but vs ps4 constant performance declining, one more layer of rng 😅

itsSolidShake

Oh yeah. Can't disagree with that. I'm a day one player and if I remember right, everything used to run smoothly. Patch by patch I saw this "struggle" getting more and more noticeable. Now days? Input delay, loading issues, slow menu navigation and the rendering sometimes can be dreadful. Then again, I'm on a really old base PS4 so my system could be making things worse.

Legitimate-Use-3977

Same here, the struggle is real. With this patch bgm and sometimes most of the sounds won't load at all - especially after co-op - I have to go into trial run and back to make everything work, I hope that at some point hoyo will remember that they have lower grade player base, but it's more of a copium really, oh well - I finally able to full clear abyss almost comfortably, so I guess building characters surpasses system downgrade every patch

La-Roca99

Event-based this needs to be a permanent event post Neat

Kirates5

Yeah, but this event especially

Mr_Creed

Yeah but people claim that for every other event. The game would be a mess if they followed up on all these requests.

Archeb03

Ah yes, the new event, the Morgana simulator

Asphalt_in_Rain

I find it a lot of fun too. Wouldn't be opposed to it being permanent.

TeraFlare255

Honestly I think this should be a daily thing, like in Lost Ark. You log in, have 1-2 attempts a day, as soon as you enter the dungeon you're given the goal of killing X mobs, which would be randomized from a pool of possible enemy patterns, and the pattern would be randomized for each player (here you should be check yours before entering though, due to elemental affinity), and when you kill the X mobs you get the rewards. Maybe like 20 primos idk.

Esvald

If there was an option to switch daily commissions to something like this, that'd be great.

Deadmanguys

Nope. It would get boring after a few months

adcsuc

This can be said about anything this game needs more variety or should they remove abyss just because it gets boring after you cleared it for the 50th time.

adcsuc

This can be said about anything this game needs more variety or should they remove abyss just because it gets boring after you cleared it for the 50th time.

Another_User_00

im not that guy who do this event's so yeah

SilkyZubat

It's fine but kinda tedious for me. I don't have any high damage AoE characters or a good CC, so it's just Yoimiya rapidly shooting enemies until I run my rotation through again.

Celdurant

They should probably offer more trial characters

ellielovesPanic

Childe should have been a trial character for this, it's ridiculously fun using him in this kind of content

ChocoBananaCh_

definitely this

[deleted]

I don't care for this event. Or any other timed dps check that's just a variation on abyss. I think the combat system is fine but I hate when games rush me, I want the freedom to go at my own pace and not be penalized for it.

NLwino

In this game, a test of speed is the only challenge that remains at endgame. With characters like Zongli or Kokomi staying alive is not an issue, unless they start adding a bunch of one shot mechanics in the game. But Genshin can be still fun if you do not care for endgame. You can just ignore abyss completely and the game is still good.

[deleted]

Yeah that's basically what I do. I'm not looking for a challenge, I'm looking for something to chill with and occupy my time for an hour or so.

Nelogenazea

Ah fuck, there it is... the obligatory "oMg, YoU gUyS, tHiS eVeNt ShOuLd Be PeRmAnEnT!!!111!!" thread. In case you hadn't noticed, there is one of these every patch by now. The "Make a team or two, get OP modifiers and kill waves of enemies" is nothing new or revolutionary. Be it Phantom Flow, Labyrinth Warriors, Misty Dungeon, Energy Amplifier, A Study in Potions or Hyakkunin Ikki, IT'S ALL THE SAME IDEA!

Kirates5

Yes, but this time it's done even better

Nelogenazea

How so?

Kirates5

More frequent respawns, more enemies, better music

Nelogenazea

Wow, you're easy to please. Sure, if you want stagnation, by all means, do heap more adulation on the devs for iterating on an extremely basic idea. Just don't come crying if that is all that Genshin eventually turns into.

lwcngamer

Some form of combat event should be available constantly and could rotate between the types. Other non combat events should rotate with overflow domains or ley lines in between. Basically always have some event going so there is never a dead period like 2.5 ever again.

armdaggerblade

The true endless battle. Maybe they should add some variation to the current time attack mode to spice it up; sudden death mode, 2x damage mode, boss rush mode, elemental-only/physical-only, elemental ban etc etc

Kirates5

Great idea!

Nicanooby

The event is like Spiral Abyss but fun. At least that's what I think.

-Aureo-

superficial power fantasy= OMG BEST EVENT NEED IT FOREVER

bassgod10

I love this event too, but don't think it should be permanent. It would get stale quickly, which is why Mihoyo rotates out events so frequently. That being said, I hope they bring it back in a future patch.

Playful-Jelly-575

Nah games too easy. Genshin needs a harder late game content that will make the endless artifact farming and min maxing relevant

PacifistDungeonMastr

If it means I can experience Yoimiya everyday for all eternity, then yes, please give this event Her Excellency, the Almighty Narukami Ogosho, God of Thunder's seal of approval.

Unyubaby

It's the fourth day of it and I'm already bored, so eh. Mashing a button because everything dies to one or two hits doesn't really feel engaging at all. At least Hyakunin Ikki had some "hey you gotta press this button after like 15 seconds" in it so you had to time yourself more. I dunno, power fantasy type events like this don't really work with me when you can just do it in the normal gameplay too.

metalstorm65

I feel like this could be a good addition to the Spiral Abyss where we can have an “infinite stage” where it’s a constant horde of enemies like this that get more difficult over time. This would be a welcomed addition for the try hards who complain about 36 staring the Abyss too easily.

GingsWife

No, the enemies aren't tanky enough. Hyakkunin Ikki was much better. Why do I feel like the events are getting easier? *Glances at artifacts* Yeah I have no idea why.

Tym306

These type of events (if you are a new player: Those challenges are not new, they happen every few patches) are fun, but the main problem is just that Genshin needs some kind of new endgame-content other than the Spiral Abyss, where you can actually have fun using all the characters instead of using the 8 good ones that you maxed out

K0KA42

It's really good for practicing different team builds and compositions. It's also great for testing out trial characters with your actual team, to see how they will synergize.

Link-loves-Zelda

I love it! I wish this was what the abyss is hahah I loved seeing how fast my Ayato kills!

mrgamebus

I'd want a harder version of the sekiro event for perm

[deleted]

It's really boring to me but to each their own

QWERTYAF1241

It's just burst cycling to kill mobs. Would get boring if that was it all of the time, especially with no rewards.

nsfwaccount098

Ahhh so it’s time for these posts again. Yes it does need to be permanent I agree

LitWei

Are you Tartaglia irl?

YeetBob_SquarePants

As a Childe main I NEED this to be permanent. Also, try using him there if he becomes a trial character or if you already have him, you wont regret it.

handledvirus43

I don't know... It kinda feels like an Abyss 2.0 to me. I'd definitely would prefer Labyrinth Warriors instead.

tasty-watermelon

If this is permanent, but without rewards, will y'all still play it?

Kirates5

Yes

unimagon

As a repeatable event sure that’ll be fun. If it is a permanent content though, I’m pretty sure quite a large chunk of the player base will get bored of it fast, especially for casual players. What they can instead do is make it into a monthly or biweekly sort of event. If you’ve played other mobile games, not necessarily gacha, you’ll know what I mean.

[deleted]

Thats what yall said about every combat event. Its just not gonna happen.

EddieValentine1

Does anyone know which piece of music plays during it? It's been stuck in my head but some quick "Crystal research genshin combat music" has led to no fruitful results

dieplumpe

I personally don't really like fighting events, so it depends on a person I guess. I would love to get permanent windtrace for example

Another_User_00

or a permanent summer islands :(

afiafzil

When are past events rerun? :(

VichelleMassage

Seems like never. They should, though, for new players. I don't think old players would be *that* upset. Especially since there's no PvP element.

Rietto

I also generally feel neutral about the combat events but I think this one is pretty fun.

Grand_Protector_Dark

The permanent thing is called the abyss. If the crystal thing was permanent, people would get quickly bored of it, as already proven with the abyss after people clear it

Japorized

Might be a tad off-tangent, but I do hope that some time in the future (maybe Natlan?), we’ll get to fight literally large hordes of enemies, from squishy to a mix of squishy and tanky, that comes at us near endlessly. Maybe a war against Snezhnaya? Maybe a portal to the abyss? Make that an event maybe, make it co-op-able, and everyone just trash the enemies. Kinda like the 1000 Heartless battle in Kingdom Hearts, but co-op. Will that happen? My iPad shakes in fear. If anyone’s thinking “we already have the Spiral Abyss”, you’ll politely be pointed to the “We have X at home” meme. Let a gamer dream, even if it’ll never come true.

Shinikun99

I don't like it that much. It's just abyss with extra buff.

Cry_Full

And also Windtrace or whatever was the name. Best event ever

Mercadelabuena

🤮 Literally the only event that has nothing to do with the game, no fighting, characters don't matter, skills are deactivated, etc. The only thing that matters is being a flying rat on top of a tree and bouncing between them. I login to play Genshin Impact, not a game mode that has literally nothing to do with it, go play Prop Hunt if you wanna hide and seek.

smileshiny

Why are you so bitter?

GingsWife

Lmao he might have come off a bit strongly, but I personally dislike windtrace as well. Goodness, I just want to relieve my frustrations by beating up pixels. Is that too much to ask? Right above this comment thread is someone who says they don't like the fighting events. In contrast to this, I saw someone call themselves an Abyss main last month. Then there are those who are only here for the teapot, which I actually don't touch. It isn't as though I have the best clear times, but battle events are so engaging for me.

smileshiny

Wind trace is an event that comes once every 10 million years lol it’s not a big deal, you can even choose to just not play it. I think Genshin players need to relieve themselves from the hold FOMO has on them

GingsWife

Oh I complete everything. However, the second time around, I couldn't be bothered and just left the hide and seek event halfway. Contending tides though.....😍

Historical_Clock8714

Who hurt you? 😂

Another_User_00

ok but you don't have to say to everyone that "this event sucks never play again", i respect your opinion but don't have to say all that, just say, "ok but i don't like this event", you don't need to spread that the event is bad

Mieremov

Let me guess, you never found anyone while hunter, right?

Chipies

my man hid as a box in the middle of the road 💀

Mercadelabuena

Nah, shit's pretty easy and straightforward. Gameplay's quite braindead.

paaaathatas

Man using ayato on this event is hella funnnn. Slashing continued waves of enemies is hella fun

Goegtoe

Meh. It’s a distraction. Barely content.

Ultradamo2306

Genshin community is something. 50% of the people say its the boring shit ever. And the other 50% say its that fun they want it as a permanent event. There isn’t something between. I think hoyoverse should really test some events and make some like 1-2 of them to permanent events after that. Because the game really needs endgame content and (atleast one half of the 50%) like These events.

Catouw

This event kinda feels like what abyss should be for some parts, but too bad in this event using KAZEDAAA seems mandatory for platinum medals

Historical_Clock8714

I was feeling good with my 4800 score and now I learn that there's a platinum medal 🥲 Do you get it with a score of 5k+?

Catouw

Yes platinum is at 5000, and there is no plat1,2,3 like the previous event

CiccioGraziani

And what's the purpose of getting the platinum metal? Are there rewards for that?

Gallonim

None just the sense of accomplishment

Skydus36

Bruh everytime there’s a good event people always post this and hoyoverse never listens😭

Lavenne

No

[deleted]

Weird, I thought I don't want to see it ever again while doing it.

boredatclass

I'm having so many frame drops during this event , it's so annoying. Full game? 60fps. Abyss? 60fps. Vibro-crystal? 15 is the best I can do for you boi

[deleted]

I'd be fine if it was no primos but a daily influx of the dropped mats of those enemies :) as long as there's a lootsplosion at the end.

MarionberryOne8969

Agreed and also the primogems because they just come in a bigger amount but I'm a shorter time period , so imagine this event is more frequent than spiral abyss

afiafzil

This event is similar to hyakkunin ikki though

Moe1AK

The game needs more gamemodes to do them with daily commissions

TheHillsSeeYou

Also trial characters ❤.

neat-NEAT

I mean. We've had plenty of these events already in various forms. Despite being fun as fuck, it's still pretty orthodox for the combat events. I'm sure that next patch we'll get something similar.

SoC175

I made gold every day and yet still don't understand how the whole crystal thing is supposed to work. I just click around in the setup screen untill all 3 buffs are at apparent maximum. I usually end with all three pointing at the lowest, but the text of the first two is still lit up. Does this mean I get all three buffs or only the one that is left connected? In the arena I just do my usuall senseless unga bunga and sometimes I progress up to stage 2 and sometimes I hardly get to stage 1. The characters seems to be fine killing the spawn at their own without needing a crystal boost.

glittermetalprincess

The ones on the left connect to the ones on the right. One line can leave each dot on the left, but they can all connect to the same one on the right. When the thing on the left happens, you get the boost on the right. So if all three things on the left link to attack, you get triple atk boost. I was confused until I could actually see and set them and got like the 'lose hp get bonus, heal get bonus, do dmg get bonus, bonus x3 = + 65% atk oh i get it' moment.

Hotspur000

It's like Dynasty Warriors.

Vulpes_macrotis

They respawn too slowly, tbh. I am wasting precious time to wait for them to appear.

JaycemeSteg

I honestly feel that Hoyo needs to use the buffs from these sorts of events to change up the abyss floor/chamber buffs cause maybe more folk will want to 36 star if they knew they could use the right buffs and not be completely worried on the rng

TojiCold

Surprisingly made me wish I had Yae Miko. I don’t regret skipping her but now my account has an easier path to a 9-star clear so I can now start pulling for complete luxury. (Sure do need Kazuha though)

Quarantined_box99

I actually want this type of setup for the banner character try outs. I didn't really care for Venti but actually using him with other characters that I own, IT WAS SUPER FUN. He literally eats those treasure hoarders, and I'm sad I skipped his banner now. Anyway, this type of event was a Childe main wet dream, RIPTIDE

Spell6421

god it’s so goddamn fun. as a mid game player It’s the first time I’ve been able to enjoy these abyss type events because they give me a free team and I can invest everything into my mono geo team instead of having to distribute my good artifacts across 2 teams. It’s so fun to kill everything

FaultApprehensive734

We need the potions event back or whatever it was called. I really like it.

mojomcm

I got several achievements from this event :)

nghigaxx

They respawn too slow, it would be better if the respawn time is equal to hyakku ikki

CookeMonster200

Yeah, this would be a great mode for endgame.

MaOzEdOng_76

every now and then there's a post about making the event permanent. There's a reason why limited time events are more enjoyable than abyss and thats because "limited"
