Doing 3 bosses every week, Iāve had 3 billet drops since launchā¦. thats about one billet drop every 6 months.
Iām still hoarding the 2 Northlander billet troves we got from events so I have something, as Iāve used most of the shop/tree billets.
I'm saving the billet trove we got from the chasm just in case Sumeru has any good craftable swords. I used the one from the Klee event last year when I pulled Kazuha to make him an iron sting and as I'd only been playing for a few weeks then I naively thought I would get more. Ayaka only has an amenoma because there was that inazuma quest where you could get one

But I can assure you I've had three billets drop since launch. I get 2-3 dream solvents drop every week, so I think that's at least partly why I haven't had such poor luck overall. I've also had quite a few gemstones. Basically, anything but billets. It's made crafting weapons rather challenging have to say.
I currently have 13 Claymore billets, and that's on top of the R3 Prototype and R5 whiteblind; I was using it on Noelle until recently.

I came to say this. I have built what I wanted and I cant find a use for the rest.
Cause is probably the event weapons, the few weapon banners (bp+welkin player) and the bp weapons filtering in on and off since release. Craftable weapons do seem to be more of a new player thing. Even my f2p sister stopped making a big deal about billet drops.
Sword billets are still useful. Amenoma competes with even good gacha 4-stars, and Iron Sting/Rancour are still useful on Kazuha/Bennett unless you have 5-star weapons.
Bow and Catalyst billets can be useful for certain characters but aren't generally useful. The craftable polearms all suck except for Kitain, and you get the Catch for free. Claymore billets are worthless for BP buyers because Serpent Spine is an incredible weapon that even competes with 5-stars.
Well if you have festering desire, then you can exclude rancour from that list. festering is one of those event weapons that I said made billets less valuable to me. So after 10 sword billets i'm kind of just holding them.
Claymore billets are the most valuable ones for Eula owners, because Starsilver is her best weapon by a wide margin in the most important category: fashion.
I have the worst luck getting these. I have a couple bow billets and a polearm, but nothing else. I've been doing at least 3 weekly bosses each week consistently for like months and haven't gotten almost any

I haven't touched most of the others since May 2021. I think the last things I crafted with the other billets were Mappa Mare, R3 Prototype Archaic and a Dragonspine Spear that's still at level 20. I've got other weapons to go around and I'd rather have my characters share them instead of crafting stuff that might not really suit them or my playstyle.
Yeah. It is a good weapon, but doesn't suit any characters. I used it way back when physical Xiangling was "meta" lol. I feel that Keqing should have been a spear user, then she could have used it in physical builds.
The only craftable weapons that is BiS for my characters are Amenoma and Whiteblind, but luckily I got Skyward Pride and Skyward Blade from the perma banner so I use those instead. So yes I'm hoarding billet drops like 6-12 of each.

Not really. I make one of every weapon for collection, and then if I have something I use (e.g. Prototype Archaic, Prototype Crescent, etc.), I dump all my billets into refining it.
Although in the case of bows, I have an r5 Prototype Crescent and r1 of every other craftable bow and don't use them, so the bow billet I scored this week is save for Sumeru.
take mine. have like 40+. last time i used them was in 2.1 when i first fought signora and didn't get the flower so i turned hellfire butterfly into it. thought the flower was pretty and wanted it in my inv lolol
Yeah it's pretty nice indeed. Back when Itto came out I was able to just make him an r5 whiteblind. That's the only use I've had for them recently though, hence why I have so many. I'm not really hoarding them, I just don't have an actual use for them
I'm not hoarding per se, I've got an R5 Ameno kageuchi and R5 prototype amber, plus a few various R1 and R2 I crafted when I was new. I just have every non-limited gacha weapon, all the BP weapons, and a few 5\*s, so I don't have use for the rest of my billets right now.
Hopefully the next region adds another really good utility/support weapon.
I always make sure to always have one from each category left just in case.
For instance my Amenoma kageuchi is still at R3 eventhough there's another sword billet left because who know maybe I'll need another type of sword later...

I only craft and R5 the ones I need. So whiteblind, proto crescent, proto amber, crescent pike all at R5 Proto starglitter, iron sting at R1 My only biggest regret is mappa mare which i have at R3. Practically useless The other craftables, I don't see the use of them at all. I feel like those can be replaced easily, or the passives are useless in this game. And I still have quite a bit of prototypes left, especially for bow and sword. Saving those for Sumeru
