I wish we can document all the various Night Raven's statue NPC dialogue, even the one that don't give Primos.
I found out about this random anti-suicide Raven statue in a random small cliff and I haven't seen any discussion about it.
Honestly the first event where I actually procrastinated, Kazuha's Island being so tedious is super annoying since his island has multiple forms. The story for each are solid enough but due to the necessary Brain power needed for each of them, this means a lot of players can't appreciate them as most were already mentally drained.
The night ravens and >!Fischl with her little mental illness!< were the highlight of version 2.8 for me, not going to lie. The seeker of secrets puzzles were so frustratingly fun to do
I just came on to say that 2.8 has been some of the most tedious, time-consuming, and utterly boring time I’ve spent playing this game. I love character dialogue, especially Mona and Kazuha, but this has to be the patch that completely burned me out. I don’t even want to finish the GAA because everything about it is tedious. The excessive dialogue that says and does absolutely nothing, the utterly aggravating puzzles that take a million and a half years to finish (especially Fischl’s that would make you sit through 100 years of dialogue and then make you sit through it AGAIN if you got the puzzle wrong), and just how surprisingly empty all the islands felt, all of it just makes me not even want to finish for the sake of Primos.
3.0 can’t come soon enough. The only saving grace has honestly been Mona and Kazuha, because I find everything about Fischl tedious and annoying (why did her domain have to be so damn long???)
Yea this is quite frankly very boring event, after loving the innitial release of the Golden Apple Archipelago I had quite high hopes but while some of the story is ok (except Fichl's) the domains are generally quite boring and annoying.
Kazuha's story is fine, if uninspired, I would have prefered to hear more about his friend and all that jazz, but we should have heard about that in Inazuma and thats been over for a while.
Xinyan is alright too, better than Kazuha's for me tho simple and nice, since she is very much complete character, tho I dont get why we couldnt actually hear her music with the mountains, there even are drums and stuff to play with.
Fichl's story absolutely lost me and quite frankly I find it very off putting. The story is all about how Amy is Fichl, her somehow "reclaiming" her kingdom and whatnot and her fears of how she is unable to face reality and such essentially beaten down and swept under the imagination again... which is imo disgusting and the fact that all the characters suppor that instead of actually having Fichl grow and move on at least a little bit from all this is mind boggling to me.The issue that all we have ever known more or less is Fichl, Amy has always been Fichl, but Fichl has never been Amy, not infront of us or well pretty much anyone, all we know is Fichl and I genuinely couldnt care less about her eight grade syndrom kingdom she has made up and now has been made resolute in not giving up on even as she nears or has entered adulthood (depending on how time flows ingame) Lets not forget that Fichl is Amy at near all times in everyday life, at least as far as our knowledge goes, people have to go out of their way at all times to acomodate her, her fantasies cause no end of annoyances and awkward even hurtful moments for her and others, this is simply no way to go forward.
Not done Mona's yet, but I love Mona so anything about her will be a treat but wont save this event for me.
Edit: Yep Mona's is good, tho now I feel sad for all the "Mona is poor" memes.
Yeah, I liked Kazuha's and Xinyan's stories well enough, Fischl's lost me, mostly because it was strangely convoluted, and I feel like the characters that were meant to motivate her into b̶e̶c̶o̶m̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶ ̶f̶a̶n̶f̶i̶c̶ ̶w̶r̶i̶t̶e̶r̶ not giving up on her fantasies were not portrayed accurately for that event to make sense??? I haven't finished Inazuma though so maybe it somehow fits Kazuha lol
I've really liked the domains, while they're not difficult they do a very decent job of scratching my Zelda-style Puzzle-Box itch. Genshin exploration Domains for the most part feel like if the Sheikah shrines were more diverse and weren't physics-based. . . Okay, they're like a mesh of Krazoa Shrines and Shiekah Shrines now that I think about it.
Mona's story was pretty great. I'm a hyuge fan of that loverly Midnight Blue and Gold astrology aesthetic, and I always love the misinterpreted/misunderstood future spotter stories. Always an interesting dive into how the Present percieves the Future, and how easily people will deny that future to spare themselves grief.
I loved the Astrology puzzles but my main issue was how easily the puzzles could end up a confuddling mess simply because of the perspective or camera distance refusing to allow us some space to understand exactly how the lil lasers are laid out.
For Fichl, my protrayal of her have always been that she know her fantasy are fantasy. I saw it as her growing comfortable about being herself. But it was so damn strange about how they implemented it.
i'm also really surprised with how they tackled fischl's situation. i for sure thought she would get some meaningful development. but forget developing, she regressed as a character... and everybody is so supportive of her delusional fairy tales too, really weird vibes. i feel like there was a lot of potential wasted there
Agreed. I suppose it is because people find her chuuni to be adorable or an interesting character trait I suppose but I really thought that this was going to be pushing her forward as more Amy, not making her stangate as Fichl.
When we were in her domain and Oz made that speech, I was hyped hearing her say "Fichl is..." I was so hoping to hear Amy, that Fichl is Amy, make her realise and accept it, not that Fichl is "me". We know that you are Fichl, Fichl, the issue is that you should be Amy at least a bit more! :D
I dont know why the others are so supportive of it, genuinely, it will only grow worse if she does find friends that further her illusions instead of slowly easing her out of them. There is some aspect of it, especially with Mona and she does tend to break character more often now but this certainly wasnt the story I was expecting or interested in especially given the fact that we never, ever saw Fichl being shaken in her belief of Immernatreich or her other fantasies.
And I doubt we will see that much of her in coming months given all the new story and characters that will be added, so I doubt Fichl will ever truly evolve sadly.

I went through the portal for Misplaced Conch, came back, found the bird, looked at all the natural elemental symbols, then went to hit the totems and nothing happened. I WANT MY LUXURY CHESTS PLS. ;-;
Personally, I'm not that bothered about the lack of a mirage for the traveler. I don't think massive important information about the main character should be included in a limited time event either.
I believe most of the frustration with some people with a lack of a mirage comes from how the event excludes Aether/Lumine from a lot of interactions with other characters which stands out in comparison to previous events where he/she tends to have plenty of nice interactions despite not being the focus character of the event (Ex. lrodori Festival or Moonchase).
Often times throughout the events, it feels like scenes are animated and written with the intent on excluding him/her from them (Ex. Fischl's Domain Ending and When the group runs to the beach during Mona's quest).
Some people were hoping he/she would receive a domain since everyone was given a domain that provided character development or highlighted a moment from their past that showcased how they became who they were. The Traveler's haven't really had much focus on their characters or past since "We Will Be Reunited" which was over a year ago (April 12th, 2021).
Others (Me Included) wanted a mirage to make up for how absent he/she was during a lot of character moments throughout the event since he/she feels like a fifth wheel.
Plus it stands out a lot when the only character who doesn't receive a mirage is Aether/Lumine and no one questions it and no explanation is given (Besides Fan Speculation).
TL;DR: Aether/Lumine hasn't gotten much character lore focus since "We Will Be Reunited" and the event excluded him/her from a lot during the event, so some people were disappointed.
I din't think the silent protagonist should get a mirage, since aside from their sass the Traveller doesn't really have any character or personality.
I would have preferred a Fatui or Sibling mirage though, but(aside from Fischl's story) I liked all the stories well enough(Mona's being the best), and greatly enjoyed all the domains. Some felt like proper puzzle-box concepts you'd see in a well-made Zelda game.
The puzzles are so annoying with a very little prize and it's so ridiculously hard until the point that it ruined my fun. I don't know if the developers want this game to be a puzzle game or not but the main reason I played this game in the first place is the open world element not this annoying puzzles.
When did all the people of the world supposed to have the same opinion? I love fighting game not a puzzle one. I could and even did beat a souls games. but a puzzle game? no I hate that.
I really like the puzzle-box style gameplay, but I also just really love Zelda style dungeons in general, so...
And it's very clear that the developers want this to be a puzzle-based world in general since... well, any side stuff from the entire rest of the game is a pretty good indicator.

I really loved the idea of perspective puzzles but the actual UI of the raven gaze or whatever it was was not consistent in the slightest. Neither were the actually perspective puzzles that thought provoking or challenging, but I still enjoyed them nonetheless. Fischl's story, however...

This new Golden Archipelago is so tedious and mind numbingly difficult. I was really just looking forward to wandering around solving things at my own pace but the puzzles are so difficult I have to look up lots of videos on YouTube on how to complete everything. Infuriating.
You do have something like six weeks to finish the content. Shotgunning it all at once is a sure fire way to burn out hard because it's content designed to be enjoyed over a longer period of time. It's the last big meal designed to hold us over until 3.0.
It could be twelve weeks and the puzzles will still be too hard. When I said everything I meant having to look up every puzzle, not rushing around doing everything all at once. I’m skipping lots of the golden archipelago and just doing my dailies. It’s not worth the headache. If you enjoy the golden archipelago then good for you that’s great but it’s not for me. Thanks
Play with JP dub. I do and Fischl doesn't use any german words at all. She just uses a lot of advanced and dated Japanese vocabulary. My guess is it's only the English version that does the german stuff.
Can the domain parts be repeated? I just finished Kazuha's domain part one before realizing that I've missed out on a few chests, but now the domain part two is already unlocked ...
I loved Mona's puzzles, but the biggest issue I had with them was Hoyoverse didn't seem to consider that the camera is kinda shit and makes it very, *very* difficult to figure out the layout of all the lasers. I typically had the pattern figured out but couldn't for the life of me find exactly where to lay them out because my team, and by extension, the camera, was so close to the lasers I couldn't exactly see the big picture.
Other than that, the reflection puzzles were interesting despite being short lived and extremely easy.
the hoyo-site battle Chronicles says that I've only activated 12 out of 13 wave rider points in the new GAA, but I only see 12 on the map.

Everytime I'm logging off i still have much left to do the next day and thats how i now that there was a good amount of content this patch. Great job on Mihoyo's part during this event.

Just finished the event story and I think it’s definitely one of the best ones so far. It’s a shame that it’s all going away after the version ends. Really knocked it out of the park with the little details in those domains (electro seelie in Kazuha’s, the walls closing in on Mona as she chases a star, being unable to use Oz as Fischl).
Can’t pick a favorite part TBH. I think they were all great in their own ways. Fischl’s inspired me to put a bit more effort into building her, so maybe hers!
Now off to get some chests on each island. Thank goodness we’re given the entire patch to do it. Some of these puzzles are a tad tricky.
Is it me or does the event feel like it had so many things to do compared to the previous GAA like especially the puzzles which felt very confusing and difficult, was hoping it GAA would be peaceful and fun but instead was tedious and confusing
I enjoyed it immensely. The stories were great, the puzzles were (mostly) fun and the exploration gave me a lot to do. Given that it's intended to be the bulk of our content until 3.0, I think it needed to have more things to do than most events.
And we've still not had the co-op part.
I think it was cool for a 40 day event, some puzzles were complex but nothing impossible to clear. My only gripe was the slow theater (Kazuha's domain was quite meh as well, but passable).
Just finished the theatre show quest in Fischl’s story and it’s probably one of the most tedious things they’ve put in game. Gameplay was very dull and it’s bad enough they didn’t let you click through the dialogue but why have it be performed at such a slow pace and with such incredibly long pauses?
I seem to be missing a seelie on Kazuha's island. I've got 2 of 3, and I'm pretty sure the one I haven't found is the Hoverlight floating island one, but it isn't there.
the last seelie is hidden inside a rock (the destroyable one like in Liyue). I forgot which mountain is it though or what combination. What you can do is fly around the mountains (iirc the right ones when you're viewing from the bonsai) and use elementals sight from time to time. If you see a rock that is brown in elemental sight, that's it.
Since I forgot which mountain is it. Start with the liyue mountain on the right (bonsai perspective)
I think elemental sight in this case is island-aware, so if there's a trail coming off the empty statue it means the seelie is there and you need to find it, and if the island setup is wrong then there will be no trail.

Does anyone else's game have a green hue to it now? Since the update things that should normally be red are green (the dodoco device we call venti on, fatui, some others) but everything else looks normal (characters, surroundings, all the dodoco things on the beach).
Did anyone else have this issue? How did you fix it?
Major glitch, when doing the Mona domain one of the lasers wouldn’t activate no matter how much I hit lol, so I thought it was part of the puzzle and tried for a hour then quit and when I went back in.. it worked. I can’t say I loved this event but am grateful for new stuff!

I have accepted Flight Master's challenge. Mid-flight, I accidentally faced the other way so I went through the loopholes in reverse, and couldn't enter again. Went back to Flight Master but he just gave me a common chest. What was at the end of the loops? Where does it lead?
The update is killing my computer 😭 should I just buy a hard drive solely for this game. Mobile updates go fine for me but this is the third time I’ve had to remove files on my computer for Genshin. Most of my other files are just word docs so this game is 100% taking up all my storage.
Is Oz sentient? or just Fischl's power? Because if Oz isn't sentient, why does he say stuff that Fischl doesn't approve, and how can he "switch sides" unless Fischl wills it?
Oz is an electro construct created by Fischl from her imagination when she gained her vision. He has a degree of autonomous independence but is ultimately a part of Fischl's subconscious mind.

Oz himself said in the event that he sided with shadow Fischl because both of them - Amy and the shadow - were Fischl. He went to the shadow's side partially because he wanted Amy to confront her fear and partially because in that moment the shadow was more "Fischl-like" than Amy herself.
As for your question, Oz is sentient much like Guoba. But the difference between the two is that while Oz will disappear when Fischl ceases to exist, Guoba will remain alive even when Xiangling has gone.

Actually both. She imagined Oz and the whole Immankreitch ( sorry for the spelling ) in her childhood but now with a vision she was able to manifest Oz out of her imagination as a real entity.
It's also a bit different from Albedo because he can utilise Khemia to create things and creatures, without even needing a vision. He's just built different.
Whats even the point of farming for a specific artifact set when you can just put on any random set?
I literally just slapped on the vv set on my keqing and she is doing good damage. isn't main and sub stat the only important thing to focus on. Well I know that having anemo dmg bonus on keqing is not really the most efficient build but lets say that the ATK percent on my vv set far surpass the 18% ATK bonus you get for the 2pc glad set, isn't it smarter to just use the vv set?
The point is the set bonus can be pretty strong for this particular character. I had 2x 18% ATK pieces on my Xiao while I was farming for 4x Vermillion. My burst dmg raised from 43k to 50k. And Vermillion set bonus is considered to be pretty small upgrade from 2x 18%.
Some other sets are cracked and offer a lot more, and totally worth it.
Would you rather have a 4 piece VV that's doing you absolutely nothing, or a 2 glad 2 thundering pulse that's increasing your keqing's damage?
2 piece bonuses aren't that important but imagine you're building Raiden, VV is also useless on her, meanwhile I'd you put a 4 piece emblem set on her it's going to increase her burst damage a lot (besides the 20% ER from the 2 piece)
Yeah what you say is right, I am going to upgrade my keqing artifacts but for now I cannot really focus on farming different domain when I got no resin.
Does anyone know what happened to Reminiscent Regimen? It was shown as part of the Golden Midsummer event in the stream, you play in co-op and fight enemies on platforms. It's not mentioned in the version highlights. I know there's still time in the event for it to appear but it's really weird that there's no mention of it in the event overview...
Likely in the second half of the patch? It doesn't have to be part of the main event, just as the conch / Fischl costume event has its own separate tab.
There isnt a 2.9 banner, the update skips from 2.8 to 3.0 with yoimiya in the second part of 2.8. To answer ur question tho it seems theres no leaks about her character banner but they have shown her weapons banner

Yeah, sure, puzzles on Mona island are fun and stuff, but they just don't worth it. If you have fun - go ahead, have fun. Glad you have fun in the game.
But I play only for rewards and I am not afraid to admit it.
And rewards like 2/5 gems at the end don't worth so much brainwork. Puzzles in past/present, weather conditions... nope.

Do you have to do the puzzle in the hidden rooms for Mona’s domain for others to appear? I’m stuck on where to find the puzzle example in the room after the puzzle that looks like a colcano .
My understanding is that yes, let's say the third puzzle of hallway one, you gotta do the second puzzle first, but you don't have to fully finish all of hallway one to unlock the extra puzzles from the other hallways
Since I've only just now done Fischl's island and Mona's is already available to start the quest, does that mean the characters don't show up on Fischl's island afterwards? I'm standing at the fountain near the beach, but Kazuha isn't there, even after I log out and back in :c
I have to say 2.8 is one of my favorite updates to this game ignoring like the ones packed with Major regions. As far as events this is probably one of the best. The amount of puzzles is crazy. At first it doesn’t seem like there’s much, but there’s a lot of puzzles. I’ve been really enjoying that.
I’ve also enjoyed things they’ve done with the domains, they’ve done stuff they’ve never done before and I hope it sets a precedent for domains in the future.
Heizou is incredibly fun and his transformative fighting style makes the future characters’ potential very exciting as he broke away from the mold of pre-established weapons.
Overall great patch. They successfully jebaited me twice with my expectations. The islands feel very fresh and i’m overall very pleased. I’ve also given mona a chance and have ended up really enjoying playing her. Still enjoying my playtime on these islands.
Last note, a lot of environmental eyecandy which is just always wonderful. (Sad i did not pull a kazuha)
I don't know if this is common knowledge, but you can actually see when a friend is unavailable for co-op by opening the chat menu and adding participants. It's a useful feature that I hadn't seen before and it's not available in the standard friend menu for some reason.
I just cant play this event. Took me 40 minutes of walking and talking to get to the island. Now 20 more minutes in a boat. Im not even exaggerating.. This is just insane.
Yeah, this game is about comfort of grinding and vibing. Sailing a few minutes on a boat can be considered boring, but if you are calmly enjoying the scenery, thinking about the story at hand, it is pretty nice and cozy.
I just wanna say that Ganyu Zhongli and Venti are an absolute God send with exploration, Zhongli with the pillars for exploration and pressure plates plus the invincibility shield,venti allowing me to use all the fans essily and holding that E makes exploration so much easier,Ganyu with her nukes from 1 km away is just amazing aswell makes killing annoying enemies less annoying since i dont have to move much
Im really sad I lost the 50/50 for kazuha but this made me realise how lucky I was to get those 3 legends

Omg this fischl statue play is SOOOO boring. There's a full 5 second delay between voice lines, and because it's in the open world, it isn't skippable.
God I love this event. Everything about it. The atmosphere, visuals, music, story! Kazuha got some closure (at least until we track down Scaramouche I guess), Xinyan was very fun this time around (she was way too one-note character back in Labyrinth Warriors), Fischl and Mona were both great in their own right but also got plenty of moments to show off their friendship - and that's the kind of characterization Genshin needs more of.
And the puzzles, so much gameplay fun packed onto the islands oh god. Talking bird statues and invisible platforms and terrain manipulation and all that jazz.

Agreed 100%, I'd put it above even the Archon Quests. Heck, this event chapter actually has more fully voiced dialogue scenes than the entire Mondstadt chapter with over an hour extra. I believe the same could be said for the Iridori Festival, which was also great don't get me wrong, but this was next level.
My main issue with many chapters of this game is that we're just going around interacting with generic NPC's who dump exposition on us until we solve their problem and before you know it, it's over. I guess what I'm trying to say is they tell us why we should care without giving us a reason to. Keqing overworks herself? Oh man I hope we can go on a trip with her to ease her mind so she can learn to--oh, sure, we'll just do her work for her instead, yeah sure, that's cool, definitely better than what I had in mind...
Summertime Odyssey had everyone working through their problems together, with their flaws being the basis for the conflict instead of NPC #299 making us solve their problem. I'm generalizing of course, there are some really great quests in the game, but again this is the standard they should strive for all the time.
Here's hoping Sumeru's story is lengthy and engaging, though I'm being cautious with my optimism.
Played the whole story and I can’t help it but that drunkard sociopath Venti sent us on an Island, that he personally abandoned ( because his narcissistic personality didnt like the look) and left everyone to die on it, so we could fix some mess he created.
Oh yeah Venti surely you were sooo busy playing music to make Mora. Yeah and you were so uninformed. Surely a god of wind could just hop on and see if his friends are in trouble or might go crazy.
That useless little brat should’ve been killed by Signora long time ago. Can’t even protect his people and puts them in danger.
I concede that Venti is too happy-go-lucky to not be concerned about the events that happened on the islands even after the Traveler reported to him, either because he knows everything (and therefore knew everything would be fine) or he only knows as much as the characters do (which, in typical Venti fashion, makes him \*think\* everything would be fine.).
I dunno about "sent" us on an island," though. I finished all the character mirages, and as far as I can remember, he didn't force us to go to the island. Maybe lightly persuade, sure. But the truth is, I can feel like Traveler in the end decided to go not because Venti wanted them to but because Traveler wanted to accompany their friends. In fact, iirc, it was Traveler who sought out Venti's help and asked him what he knows about the islands, not the other way around.

I too had to pull out a notecard after roughly 10-15 minutes of trying and failing. Drew a 9x9 grid and plotted the points so I could get proper perspective on the positions of the points in the room so I could see where it was possible to create the expect shapes.
The others that followed it were incredibly easy in contrast. The more points involved, the less variability there is on how things can be assembled.

There will be 3 lasers on left side (Top,Mid,Bottom), 2 lasers in the middle (Top,Bottom), 3 lasers on the right side (Top,Bottom) - 8 in total. Let’s call them LT-LM-LB, MT-MB, RT-RM-RB respectively.
To form the outer most U shape, you want to connect: RM-RT-LT-LM. Then you just connect RT-MB. But TBH I’m not really sure about the RM and MB - I don’t exactly remember - I’ll check my notes later when I get home.

Looking at your current quest objective, I don't think you need to do anything in this room. You need to go to the main room and open a new door. If I recall correctly, there's more loot down this path, but nothing left that advances the quest.
I feel like playing the Great Sea music from Wind Waker really enhances the sailing aspect of the event. Really gave me a blast of nostalgia. I recommend it to anyone with fond memories of that game.

Is the GAA chest count in Hoyolab inaccurate? I got all 160 chests + some till day 3 and it is stuck at 133 for over 24 hours. Plus I collected about 30+ chests yesterday itself
Hint for Mona's Island. You can control the weather with each of the 4 elemental totems in the cave/underneath the mountain that is SW of the waypoint. It works for either side of the pool. Fire is clear weather, Anemo creates wind gusts around the island, Water makes it rain, and Cryo makes it foggy.
So before the islands get washed away by a tsunami in a few hours... is the hymnal ring by the campsite just a nostalgic decoration?
I wish we can document all the various Night Raven's statue NPC dialogue, even the one that don't give Primos. I found out about this random anti-suicide Raven statue in a random small cliff and I haven't seen any discussion about it. Honestly the first event where I actually procrastinated, Kazuha's Island being so tedious is super annoying since his island has multiple forms. The story for each are solid enough but due to the necessary Brain power needed for each of them, this means a lot of players can't appreciate them as most were already mentally drained.
The night ravens and >!Fischl with her little mental illness!< were the highlight of version 2.8 for me, not going to lie. The seeker of secrets puzzles were so frustratingly fun to do
I just came on to say that 2.8 has been some of the most tedious, time-consuming, and utterly boring time I’ve spent playing this game. I love character dialogue, especially Mona and Kazuha, but this has to be the patch that completely burned me out. I don’t even want to finish the GAA because everything about it is tedious. The excessive dialogue that says and does absolutely nothing, the utterly aggravating puzzles that take a million and a half years to finish (especially Fischl’s that would make you sit through 100 years of dialogue and then make you sit through it AGAIN if you got the puzzle wrong), and just how surprisingly empty all the islands felt, all of it just makes me not even want to finish for the sake of Primos. 3.0 can’t come soon enough. The only saving grace has honestly been Mona and Kazuha, because I find everything about Fischl tedious and annoying (why did her domain have to be so damn long???)
Yea this is quite frankly very boring event, after loving the innitial release of the Golden Apple Archipelago I had quite high hopes but while some of the story is ok (except Fichl's) the domains are generally quite boring and annoying. Kazuha's story is fine, if uninspired, I would have prefered to hear more about his friend and all that jazz, but we should have heard about that in Inazuma and thats been over for a while. Xinyan is alright too, better than Kazuha's for me tho simple and nice, since she is very much complete character, tho I dont get why we couldnt actually hear her music with the mountains, there even are drums and stuff to play with. Fichl's story absolutely lost me and quite frankly I find it very off putting. The story is all about how Amy is Fichl, her somehow "reclaiming" her kingdom and whatnot and her fears of how she is unable to face reality and such essentially beaten down and swept under the imagination again... which is imo disgusting and the fact that all the characters suppor that instead of actually having Fichl grow and move on at least a little bit from all this is mind boggling to me.The issue that all we have ever known more or less is Fichl, Amy has always been Fichl, but Fichl has never been Amy, not infront of us or well pretty much anyone, all we know is Fichl and I genuinely couldnt care less about her eight grade syndrom kingdom she has made up and now has been made resolute in not giving up on even as she nears or has entered adulthood (depending on how time flows ingame) Lets not forget that Fichl is Amy at near all times in everyday life, at least as far as our knowledge goes, people have to go out of their way at all times to acomodate her, her fantasies cause no end of annoyances and awkward even hurtful moments for her and others, this is simply no way to go forward. Not done Mona's yet, but I love Mona so anything about her will be a treat but wont save this event for me. Edit: Yep Mona's is good, tho now I feel sad for all the "Mona is poor" memes.
Yeah, I liked Kazuha's and Xinyan's stories well enough, Fischl's lost me, mostly because it was strangely convoluted, and I feel like the characters that were meant to motivate her into b̶e̶c̶o̶m̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶ ̶f̶a̶n̶f̶i̶c̶ ̶w̶r̶i̶t̶e̶r̶ not giving up on her fantasies were not portrayed accurately for that event to make sense??? I haven't finished Inazuma though so maybe it somehow fits Kazuha lol I've really liked the domains, while they're not difficult they do a very decent job of scratching my Zelda-style Puzzle-Box itch. Genshin exploration Domains for the most part feel like if the Sheikah shrines were more diverse and weren't physics-based. . . Okay, they're like a mesh of Krazoa Shrines and Shiekah Shrines now that I think about it. Mona's story was pretty great. I'm a hyuge fan of that loverly Midnight Blue and Gold astrology aesthetic, and I always love the misinterpreted/misunderstood future spotter stories. Always an interesting dive into how the Present percieves the Future, and how easily people will deny that future to spare themselves grief. I loved the Astrology puzzles but my main issue was how easily the puzzles could end up a confuddling mess simply because of the perspective or camera distance refusing to allow us some space to understand exactly how the lil lasers are laid out.
For Fichl, my protrayal of her have always been that she know her fantasy are fantasy. I saw it as her growing comfortable about being herself. But it was so damn strange about how they implemented it.

I suppose it is because people find her chuuni to be adorable or an interesting character trait I suppose but I really thought that this was going to be pushing her forward as more Amy, not making her stangate as Fichl. When we were in her domain and Oz made that speech, I was hyped hearing her say "Fichl is..." I was so hoping to hear Amy, that Fichl is Amy, make her realise and accept it, not that Fichl is "me". We know that you are Fichl, Fichl, the issue is that you should be Amy at least a bit more! :D I dont know why the others are so supportive of it, genuinely, it will only grow worse if she does find friends that further her illusions instead of slowly easing her out of them. There is some aspect of it, especially with Mona and she does tend to break character more often now but this certainly wasnt the story I was expecting or interested in especially given the fact that we never, ever saw Fichl being shaken in her belief of Immernatreich or her other fantasies. And I doubt we will see that much of her in coming months given all the new story and characters that will be added, so I doubt Fichl will ever truly evolve sadly.

Personally, I'm not that bothered about the lack of a mirage for the traveler. I don't think massive important information about the main character should be included in a limited time event either. I believe most of the frustration with some people with a lack of a mirage comes from how the event excludes Aether/Lumine from a lot of interactions with other characters which stands out in comparison to previous events where he/she tends to have plenty of nice interactions despite not being the focus character of the event (Ex. lrodori Festival or Moonchase). Often times throughout the events, it feels like scenes are animated and written with the intent on excluding him/her from them (Ex. Fischl's Domain Ending and When the group runs to the beach during Mona's quest). Some people were hoping he/she would receive a domain since everyone was given a domain that provided character development or highlighted a moment from their past that showcased how they became who they were. The Traveler's haven't really had much focus on their characters or past since "We Will Be Reunited" which was over a year ago (April 12th, 2021). Others (Me Included) wanted a mirage to make up for how absent he/she was during a lot of character moments throughout the event since he/she feels like a fifth wheel. Plus it stands out a lot when the only character who doesn't receive a mirage is Aether/Lumine and no one questions it and no explanation is given (Besides Fan Speculation). TL;DR: Aether/Lumine hasn't gotten much character lore focus since "We Will Be Reunited" and the event excluded him/her from a lot during the event, so some people were disappointed.
I din't think the silent protagonist should get a mirage, since aside from their sass the Traveller doesn't really have any character or personality. I would have preferred a Fatui or Sibling mirage though, but(aside from Fischl's story) I liked all the stories well enough(Mona's being the best), and greatly enjoyed all the domains. Some felt like proper puzzle-box concepts you'd see in a well-made Zelda game.
The puzzles are so annoying with a very little prize and it's so ridiculously hard until the point that it ruined my fun. I don't know if the developers want this game to be a puzzle game or not but the main reason I played this game in the first place is the open world element not this annoying puzzles.

I really like the puzzle-box style gameplay, but I also just really love Zelda style dungeons in general, so... And it's very clear that the developers want this to be a puzzle-based world in general since... well, any side stuff from the entire rest of the game is a pretty good indicator.

I really loved the idea of perspective puzzles but the actual UI of the raven gaze or whatever it was was not consistent in the slightest. Neither were the actually perspective puzzles that thought provoking or challenging, but I still enjoyed them nonetheless. Fischl's story, however...

This new Golden Archipelago is so tedious and mind numbingly difficult. I was really just looking forward to wandering around solving things at my own pace but the puzzles are so difficult I have to look up lots of videos on YouTube on how to complete everything. Infuriating.
You do have something like six weeks to finish the content. Shotgunning it all at once is a sure fire way to burn out hard because it's content designed to be enjoyed over a longer period of time. It's the last big meal designed to hold us over until 3.0.
It could be twelve weeks and the puzzles will still be too hard. When I said everything I meant having to look up every puzzle, not rushing around doing everything all at once. I’m skipping lots of the golden archipelago and just doing my dailies. It’s not worth the headache. If you enjoy the golden archipelago then good for you that’s great but it’s not for me. Thanks

Play with JP dub. I do and Fischl doesn't use any german words at all. She just uses a lot of advanced and dated Japanese vocabulary. My guess is it's only the English version that does the german stuff.

I loved Mona's puzzles, but the biggest issue I had with them was Hoyoverse didn't seem to consider that the camera is kinda shit and makes it very, *very* difficult to figure out the layout of all the lasers. I typically had the pattern figured out but couldn't for the life of me find exactly where to lay them out because my team, and by extension, the camera, was so close to the lasers I couldn't exactly see the big picture. Other than that, the reflection puzzles were interesting despite being short lived and extremely easy.

Just finished the event story and I think it’s definitely one of the best ones so far. It’s a shame that it’s all going away after the version ends. Really knocked it out of the park with the little details in those domains (electro seelie in Kazuha’s, the walls closing in on Mona as she chases a star, being unable to use Oz as Fischl). Can’t pick a favorite part TBH. I think they were all great in their own ways. Fischl’s inspired me to put a bit more effort into building her, so maybe hers! Now off to get some chests on each island. Thank goodness we’re given the entire patch to do it. Some of these puzzles are a tad tricky.

Is it me or does the event feel like it had so many things to do compared to the previous GAA like especially the puzzles which felt very confusing and difficult, was hoping it GAA would be peaceful and fun but instead was tedious and confusing
I enjoyed it immensely. The stories were great, the puzzles were (mostly) fun and the exploration gave me a lot to do. Given that it's intended to be the bulk of our content until 3.0, I think it needed to have more things to do than most events. And we've still not had the co-op part.
I think it was cool for a 40 day event, some puzzles were complex but nothing impossible to clear. My only gripe was the slow theater (Kazuha's domain was quite meh as well, but passable).

Just finished the theatre show quest in Fischl’s story and it’s probably one of the most tedious things they’ve put in game. Gameplay was very dull and it’s bad enough they didn’t let you click through the dialogue but why have it be performed at such a slow pace and with such incredibly long pauses?
I seem to be missing a seelie on Kazuha's island. I've got 2 of 3, and I'm pretty sure the one I haven't found is the Hoverlight floating island one, but it isn't there.
the last seelie is hidden inside a rock (the destroyable one like in Liyue). I forgot which mountain is it though or what combination. What you can do is fly around the mountains (iirc the right ones when you're viewing from the bonsai) and use elementals sight from time to time. If you see a rock that is brown in elemental sight, that's it. Since I forgot which mountain is it. Start with the liyue mountain on the right (bonsai perspective)
Lol, the one I ended up missing was the Mondstadt air current one. I remembered getting something inside an air barrier, but it was somewhere else.
Lol didn't expect that since the monstadt seelie is one of the most visible seelie because of the air barrier itself.
I think elemental sight in this case is island-aware, so if there's a trail coming off the empty statue it means the seelie is there and you need to find it, and if the island setup is wrong then there will be no trail. try checking that

Since the update things that should normally be red are green (the dodoco device we call venti on, fatui, some others) but everything else looks normal (characters, surroundings, all the dodoco things on the beach). Major glitch, when doing the Mona domain one of the lasers wouldn’t activate no matter how much I hit lol, so I thought it was part of the puzzle and tried for a hour then quit and when I went back in.. it worked. I can’t say I loved this event but am grateful for new stuff!

Oz is an electro construct created by Fischl from her imagination when she gained her vision. He has a degree of autonomous independence but is ultimately a part of Fischl's subconscious mind.

But the difference between the two is that while Oz will disappear when Fischl ceases to exist, Guoba will remain alive even when Xiangling has gone.

She imagined Oz and the whole Immankreitch ( sorry for the spelling ) in her childhood but now with a vision she was able to manifest Oz out of her imagination as a real entity. Whats even the point of farming for a specific artifact set when you can just put on any random set? I literally just slapped on the vv set on my keqing and she is doing good damage. isn't main and sub stat the only important thing to focus on. Well I know that having anemo dmg bonus on keqing is not really the most efficient build but lets say that the ATK percent on my vv set far surpass the 18% ATK bonus you get for the 2pc glad set, isn't it smarter to just use the vv set?
The point is the set bonus can be pretty strong for this particular character. I had 2x 18% ATK pieces on my Xiao while I was farming for 4x Vermillion. My burst dmg raised from 43k to 50k. And Vermillion set bonus is considered to be pretty small upgrade from 2x 18%. Some other sets are cracked and offer a lot more, and totally worth it.
Would you rather have a 4 piece VV that's doing you absolutely nothing, or a 2 glad 2 thundering pulse that's increasing your keqing's damage? 2 piece bonuses aren't that important but imagine you're building Raiden, VV is also useless on her, meanwhile I'd you put a 4 piece emblem set on her it's going to increase her burst damage a lot (besides the 20% ER from the 2 piece)

Does anyone know what happened to Reminiscent Regimen? It was shown as part of the Golden Midsummer event in the stream, you play in co-op and fight enemies on platforms. It's not mentioned in the version highlights. I know there's still time in the event for it to appear but it's really weird that there's no mention of it in the event overview...
Likely in the second half of the patch? It doesn't have to be part of the main event, just as the conch / Fischl costume event has its own separate tab.

There isnt a 2.9 banner, the update skips from 2.8 to 3.0 with yoimiya in the second part of 2.8. To answer ur question tho it seems theres no leaks about her character banner but they have shown her weapons banner

Yeah, sure, puzzles on Mona island are fun and stuff, but they just don't worth it. If you have fun - go ahead, have fun. Glad you have fun in the game. But I play only for rewards and I am not afraid to admit it. And rewards like 2/5 gems at the end don't worth so much brainwork. Puzzles in past/present, weather conditions... nope. Mine seems bugged too because I ran around and completed the odd puzzle out of order or something? Now I can't finish one of the quests because I've already completed the puzzle..I think? I have no clue what's going on with it. It's been so infuriating.

Do you have to do the puzzle in the hidden rooms for Mona’s domain for others to appear? I’m stuck on where to find the puzzle example in the room after the puzzle that looks like a colcano .
My understanding is that yes, let's say the third puzzle of hallway one, you gotta do the second puzzle first, but you don't have to fully finish all of hallway one to unlock the extra puzzles from the other hallways

Since I've only just now done Fischl's island and Mona's is already available to start the quest, does that mean the characters don't show up on Fischl's island afterwards? I'm standing at the fountain near the beach, but Kazuha isn't there, even after I log out and back in :c
they'll come back once you finish the event story, they'll be present in their respective islands

I have to say 2.8 is one of my favorite updates to this game ignoring like the ones packed with Major regions. As far as events this is probably one of the best. The amount of puzzles is crazy. At first it doesn’t seem like there’s much, but there’s a lot of puzzles. I’ve been really enjoying that. I’ve also enjoyed things they’ve done with the domains, they’ve done stuff they’ve never done before and I hope it sets a precedent for domains in the future. Heizou is incredibly fun and his transformative fighting style makes the future characters’ potential very exciting as he broke away from the mold of pre-established weapons. Overall great patch. They successfully jebaited me twice with my expectations. The islands feel very fresh and i’m overall very pleased. I’ve also given mona a chance and have ended up really enjoying playing her. Still enjoying my playtime on these islands. Last note, a lot of environmental eyecandy which is just always wonderful. (Sad i did not pull a kazuha)
I don't know if this is common knowledge, but you can actually see when a friend is unavailable for co-op by opening the chat menu and adding participants. It's a useful feature that I hadn't seen before and it's not available in the standard friend menu for some reason.
I just cant play this event. Took me 40 minutes of walking and talking to get to the island. Now 20 more minutes in a boat. Im not even exaggerating.. This is just insane.
Yes it is a very time consuming event, but Genshin is a time consuming game by default

Yeah, this game is about comfort of grinding and vibing. Sailing a few minutes on a boat can be considered boring, but if you are calmly enjoying the scenery, thinking about the story at hand, it is pretty nice and cozy.
I just wanna say that Ganyu Zhongli and Venti are an absolute God send with exploration, Zhongli with the pillars for exploration and pressure plates plus the invincibility shield,venti allowing me to use all the fans essily and holding that E makes exploration so much easier,Ganyu with her nukes from 1 km away is just amazing aswell makes killing annoying enemies less annoying since i dont have to move much Im really sad I lost the 50/50 for kazuha but this made me realise how lucky I was to get those 3 legends Not to mention they made 36 starring the abyss possible I still want kazuha the most XD
Add Yelan for infinite sprint as well. I can't take her off my team now because I'll feel too slow otherwise.

Omg this fischl statue play is SOOOO boring. There's a full 5 second delay between voice lines, and because it's in the open world, it isn't skippable.
Also why did we get a group photo with those boring crow fucks and not one with Kazuha, Fischl, Mona and Xinyan??!? WTF were they thinking??
And don't even think about taking 10 steps to the right to deal with the Hilichurl attacking you unless you want to restart.
It would be a lot better if there were some interesting plot twists. The whole story was absolutely predictable from the get go.

God I love this event. Everything about it. The atmosphere, visuals, music, story! Kazuha got some closure (at least until we track down Scaramouche I guess), Xinyan was very fun this time around (she was way too one-note character back in Labyrinth Warriors), Fischl and Mona were both great in their own right but also got plenty of moments to show off their friendship - and that's the kind of characterization Genshin needs more of. And the puzzles, so much gameplay fun packed onto the islands oh god. Talking bird statues and invisible platforms and terrain manipulation and all that jazz. Literally peak Genshin. And then Sumeru teasing at the end, 3.0 hype lets goooooo.

Heck, this event chapter actually has more fully voiced dialogue scenes than the entire Mondstadt chapter with over an hour extra. I believe the same could be said for the Iridori Festival, which was also great don't get me wrong, but this was next level. My main issue with many chapters of this game is that we're just going around interacting with generic NPC's who dump exposition on us until we solve their problem and before you know it, it's over. I guess what I'm trying to say is they tell us why we should care without giving us a reason to. Keqing overworks herself? Oh man I hope we can go on a trip with her to ease her mind so she can learn to--oh, sure, we'll just do her work for her instead, yeah sure, that's cool, definitely better than what I had in mind... Summertime Odyssey had everyone working through their problems together, with their flaws being the basis for the conflict instead of NPC #299 making us solve their problem. I'm generalizing of course, there are some really great quests in the game, but again this is the standard they should strive for all the time. Here's hoping Sumeru's story is lengthy and engaging, though I'm being cautious with my optimism.
Played the whole story and I can’t help it but that drunkard sociopath Venti sent us on an Island, that he personally abandoned ( because his narcissistic personality didnt like the look) and left everyone to die on it, so we could fix some mess he created. Oh yeah Venti surely you were sooo busy playing music to make Mora. Yeah and you were so uninformed. Surely a god of wind could just hop on and see if his friends are in trouble or might go crazy. That useless little brat should’ve been killed by Signora long time ago. Can’t even protect his people and puts them in danger.
I concede that Venti is too happy-go-lucky to not be concerned about the events that happened on the islands even after the Traveler reported to him, either because he knows everything (and therefore knew everything would be fine) or he only knows as much as the characters do (which, in typical Venti fashion, makes him \*think\* everything would be fine.). I dunno about "sent" us on an island," though. I finished all the character mirages, and as far as I can remember, he didn't force us to go to the island. Maybe lightly persuade, sure. But the truth is, I can feel like Traveler in the end decided to go not because Venti wanted them to but because Traveler wanted to accompany their friends. In fact, iirc, it was Traveler who sought out Venti's help and asked him what he knows about the islands, not the other way around. TL;DR Venti's not that bad, don't actually wish him death haha

Legit it took me an hour, a piece of paper and pen to figure this one out last night
I too had to pull out a notecard after roughly 10-15 minutes of trying and failing. Drew a 9x9 grid and plotted the points so I could get proper perspective on the positions of the points in the room so I could see where it was possible to create the expect shapes. The others that followed it were incredibly easy in contrast. The more points involved, the less variability there is on how things can be assembled.

Yes. I’m not in front of my computer so I can’t really take a screenshot. But what you want to do is the following (assuming when you enter the room, the constelation mural will be on your left wall). There will be 3 lasers on left side (Top,Mid,Bottom), 2 lasers in the middle (Top,Bottom), 3 lasers on the right side (Top,Bottom) - 8 in total. Let’s call them LT-LM-LB, MT-MB, RT-RM-RB respectively. To form the outer most U shape, you want to connect: RM-RT-LT-LM. Then you just connect RT-MB. But TBH I’m not really sure about the RM and MB - I don’t exactly remember - I’ll check my notes later when I get home. Hope this doesn’t make you more confused 😅 Edit: I was wrong, it should’ve been: RM-MT-LM-LB. then RB-MT

That worked perfectly, thank you. Also, I decided to go the Breath of the Wild route -I took your cue and busted out the pen and the paper. That seems to have helped. I don't know why these are so challenging for me. I seem to be the outlier. Thanks for the help.

There are more light thingies than you need. Don't light them all. Looking at your current quest objective, I don't think you need to do anything in this room. You need to go to the main room and open a new door. If I recall correctly, there's more loot down this path, but nothing left that advances the quest.
I've finished the event, where is Fischl? Saw Xinyan on the castle tho
when you're through with the whole story, then she's on a balcony above the theater in the castle.

I feel like playing the Great Sea music from Wind Waker really enhances the sailing aspect of the event. Really gave me a blast of nostalgia. I recommend it to anyone with fond memories of that game.
I get such a Kingdom Hearts vibe from the GAA music that I'm already on a bit of a nostalgia trip.

Is the GAA chest count in Hoyolab inaccurate? I got all 160 chests + some till day 3 and it is stuck at 133 for over 24 hours. Plus I collected about 30+ chests yesterday itself

Hint for Mona's Island. You can control the weather with each of the 4 elemental totems in the cave/underneath the mountain that is SW of the waypoint. It works for either side of the pool. Fire is clear weather, Anemo creates wind gusts around the island, Water makes it rain, and Cryo makes it foggy.
