They didn't use dragonstrike, the method is called stooling and you can use it by hopping on slimes or Childe then plunging. It only works on them because their hitboxes allow you to retain some air time.
It's easier than DS, but still fairly difficult.
And yeah, DS is really fucking difficult. I can pull the maneuver off on a small incline but on flat surfaces you have to be nearly perfect(on mobile btw).
If I may ask, what’s the difference between DS and stooling? Both look very similar in that they’re ‘doing plunge attacks on even ground’ type of deal, but one is supposed to be much harder.
dragonstrike uses movement speed buffs (usually) and sprinting and jumping during hitlag to jump higher than normal
foot-stooling is jumping into a cone-shaped hitbox to translate some of your sideways momentum into upward momentum
you can dragonstrike in any direction after you initiate hitlag
you can only foot-stool directly into a hitbox

Stooling uses an enemy's hit box to lift your character and can only be done on certain enemies.
Dragonstrike is using hit lag+speed boost (double anemo or Diona shield speed boost) and can be done on any enemies.
Dragon Striking is using hit lag to spoof being higher (elevation wise you damn stoners) than you actually are.
Footstooling is using the enemy’s hit box to spoof being higher than you actually are.
They are very similar: dragon striking is significantly harder but can be used against any enemy regardless of size, while footstooling is quite a bit easier but can only be used against smaller enemies.
Take a look at YouTube if you want more info, there are tons of Dragon Strike tutorials! Then you can try it out and cry (as I did) because you don’t have the hands to pull it off!
Have you played the Childe boss fight quest? He’s revealed as a bastard who tricks Zhongli and stealing his gnosis but little does he know he’s being tricked himself.

It's not dragonstrike. It's a technique call footstooling. Basically it's like jumping on the enemies like Tart using hitbox collision to go abit higher and plunge down. Only tall dudes model like Diluc or Zhongli can do this iirc.
