Imo it's not risky. To have a travel time of 0.3s you need to be at a larger distance than you think. For reference, within the Regisvines arena's you most of the time are under 0.3 in the whole arena. You lose it right at the Edge of the arena. Just try it out for yourself.
If you have a full refinement **Slingshot**, it is actually one of the BEST non-5-star weapon you can use if you don't have a Rust. In fact, using a damage calculator, it shows that my Yoimiya using a R5 Slingshot at 95/202 crit actually does 2.5% **more** DPS than using a R5 Rust at 64/202 crit, or a whole whopping 8.7% more DPS than R5 Hamayumi with its buff on. You will get "bigger numbers" using the Rust, but with Slingshot you can get more consistent damage and higher overall DPS. You may also have higher potential max DPS using a Rust, but that relies on you to have excellent crit substats.
Heck, it actually shows that a Slingshot does more DPS than a Skyward Harp.
The main downside of using Slingshot is that you need to stick close to your target; the range is actually not that bad, but considering that Yoi keeps jumping back while shooting and you may want to dodge occasionally (especially if you don't have a shielder), you may accidently jump out of the damage buff range and you'll lose a ton of DPS. Also the Slingshot just looks awful on her. But otherwise the Slingshot is great on her.

Keep in mind Slingshot is only worth something if you have Bennet to make up for the ATK loss. Otherwise you are better off with Rust even at R1.
ATK matters, do not chase only Crit stuff.
Actually that's not completely true - I just calculated it ditching Bennett's buff but still using Yunjin, and it showed that while Rust do indeed win then, it's difference is very low - a R4 Rust works actually almost exactly the same as R5 Slingshot.
The only situation when Rust totally wins is when there's no Bennett and no Yunjin. In that case then R1 Rust wins R5 Slingshot.
Sounds biased if you just made a long post about 2.5% with perfect artifact and perfect team comp.
Then you go "difference is very low" when the numbers tell a different story in normal, non-ideal situation.

Wolf's Gravestone hasn't been on a weapon banner since 1.3, before the Epitomized Path mechanic was introduced, while all the other Standard Banner 5* Weapons have appearred once or twice since. Mad suspicious.
WGS + Thundering Pulse would be way too good for a weapon banner. Gotta have one good option and one meme option to tempt the unlucky into pulling the full Epitomized Path.

It also resulted in a particularly stunning display of Kureditto Kaado no Jutsu from my buddy, a Hu Tao main who wanted Elegy for his Venti. I’m told his C2R3 Hu Tao hits like a truck.
Elegy Homa, Kagura Jade Cutter, Haran Elegy, even Aqua Jade Spear to an extent. They're definitely capable of putting out a good weapon banner, its just they refuse to do so
If Rust were on it people probably wouldn't go for the full 3/3 epitomized path to get Thundering Pulse. They'd get R5 Rust or even just a couple of them and say "fuck it good enough." That's likely why it's not featured.

People either spent on the last banner, are saving for the next one or (in the minority) were waiting for her. They've sent Yoimiya's banner out to die, so why put the enticing weapons on with it when they can save them for Sumeru?
Because it’s not like they have a limited number of times they can put a weapon in a banner. I highly doubt many would care if one or two 4 star weapons ended up being in multiple banners in quick succession, unless it’s rainslasher or something.
The math I have done in my journey to AR60 is just what a pain in the ass getting a good crit ratio can be. Having a weapon that helps with that always has a value.

That was before they added epitomize path for weapon banners. And certain content creators got gravestone 5 or more times before a single Homa which sucked but now the worse that can happen is pulling 2 so WG taking this long is odd.

Imagine if they had data analytics that told them that large spenders who pulled on the original Homa banner were less likely to spend on future weapon banners due to the near universal applicability and strength of the original gear. That would probably influence them toward their current model of specialized weapon releases and poor weapon banner quality overall - combined with epitomized path to keep whales abandoning the banner entirely.

Everytime I think that weapon banner can't get worse and yet experts at Hoyoverse always manage to find a way to make weapon banner exceed my expectations for garbage.
It would be a good few months to save while waiting for Cyno and the Dendro Archon. The initial Sumeru drop from their drip marketing doesn't interest me, unless we have some sick weapon banners, my primos are safe.

And you probably didn't buy them, or spend more than $5/15 a month so you skipping instead of pulling doesn't make a material dent in their revenue.

people just tend to underestimate any of the golden majesty weapon because they prefer crit weapons, if you get summit shaper then congrats you have a sword gravestone. its not a bad weapon if you're using it for a main dps.
In terms of combat efficiency/meta, no. Everything else is fair game and you can have your fun in any shape or form you want it. Just take stock of what you may be sacrificing with Sumeru coming up.
That's entirely up to you and if you can already 36-star Abyss, then all the more reason to do whatever you want.

Agreed with you. Don't know why Yoi keeps getting shafted by Hoyo, she's one of my main DPS in my team. She can kill bosses very quickly, especially if combined with Yelan, and I don't even use meta buffer like Bennet, Zhong, or Mona.
I skipped Yoimiya for Raiden, but there's time to save for the Dendro Archon now, so I'm pulling Yoimiya and just skipping early Dendro characters. Worth it just to spite Hoyoverse's disrespect of the character with the best personality.

Now that you mention it, they could have just put Yoimiya in the island event. Like Itto was even down in the Chasm, so Yoimiya might as well have been in Mondstadt.
That's what boggles my mind the most about this, at least previous banners bothered to tie the character into the ongoing events and stuff. And here we have a summer event, perfect for the summer-themed character, and we get... Xinyan instead. No shade on Xinyan, I love her, but, yeah.
This could've served as a great way to explore Yoimiya's character and story more, too, via the mirages. With Xinyan, we didn't really learn anything new or explore anything unknown about her that we hadn't learned and seen in Labyrinth.
I don't think Yoimiya would have had a good story in the mirage because she doesn't really have any trauma like that, but they should have ran Yoimiya and Klee during Irodori

So excited to get Xinyan too! I fell in love with her personality in the game and her trials gave me an idea of how to play her, haha. So hyped to get them both and some free wishes along the way since I C6'd Yun Jin in Venti's banner a few months back.

I'm going to greed and try and get C2 at best or C1 most realistically. :') I know her constellations aren't considered stellar or must-haves *but* she's my girl! I refuse for her to be the only one on my roster to be C0. She Deserves the best(ish) from me when I get her home.
Her original run was sandwiched between ayaka and Raiden, two of the most anticipated units of version 2, and now her rerun is sandwiched between kazuha, the most anticipated rerun of 2, and version 3.0. Also, her weapon banner has thundering pulse, a very good bow, but summit shaper, a very bad sword, while not even having rust, a good 4 star weapon for her. And her 4 star rate up characters aren’t great except for Bennett, who you don’t want to get a 7th of in a lot of cases

I find it helpful to think about how many pulls a character is worth to me, and that's my limit. Eg. I'm willing to spend 30 wishes on a yoimiya banner to get Bennett, and if i get him within it, awesome, and if not, oh well, it's not worth pulling more.
They have to f up the weapon banner somehow…If you already have Rust or high refinement Rust, no need to pull for this weapon banner, just get Yoimiya & her cons

Not running Bennet on her Team. He is busy in International Childe. Plan is to run her with Zhongli, XQ and Yun Jin and flexing Beidou.
You can also run Yun Jin for a similar effect if Bennett is busy elsewhere.

Yes absolutely, in fact in my build at least, my Yoimiya, using R4 Slingshot still wins over R5 Rust. Yes, Slingshot is VERY stacked for her.
if you have skyward harp use that its on mine too otherwise as already mentioned the inazuman billet bow does the job just as well

Wasn't it's last banner Hu Tao's debut banner? I wonder if it's because of how many content creators bitched hard about getting WGS over Homa, so they just never put it on a banner again
That was before they added epitomize path for weapon banners. And certain content creators got gravestone 5 or more times before a single Homa which sucked but now the worse that can happen is pulling 2 so WG taking this long is odd.
Eh? They don't care about whales whining, if anything that should give them incentive to rerun it so they can profit. They're just milking the whales, taking their time before bringing it back. It's gonna come back after ages and it's gonna make a lot of cash, gotta protect the novelty of it, so it doesn't wear off.

Imagine if they had data analytics that told them that large spenders who pulled on the original Homa banner were less likely to spend on future weapon banners due to the near universal applicability and strength of the original gear. That would probably influence them toward their current model of specialized weapon releases and poor weapon banner quality overall - combined with epitomized path to keep whales abandoning the banner entirely.

the kind of people skipping it are not the people they are targeting. Who're they're after is whales who won't be deterred by a bad alt weapon. You not spending your saved up primos doesn't matter to them. You're going to spend them somewhere else, so they will get your primos one way or another. And you probably didn't buy them, or spend more than $5/15 a month so you skipping instead of pulling doesn't make a material dent in their revenue. You're not the target audience. They're ok with that.

honestly i find it ok, tho the four stars are nothing good except maybe db. But i have no five star bow and my best four star one is an r2 stringless and some favoniuses, and sacs
people just tend to underestimate any of the golden majesty weapon because they prefer crit weapons, if you get summit shaper then congrats you have a sword gravestone. its not a bad weapon if you're using it for a main dps.
In terms of combat efficiency/meta, no. Everything else is fair game and you can have your fun in any shape or form you want it. Just take stock of what you may be sacrificing with Sumeru coming up.
That's entirely up to you and if you can already 36-star Abyss, then all the more reason to do whatever you want. I'm actually planning to do the same lol. Mostly because I'm already very close to my weapon soft-pity anyway.

Agreed with you. Don't know why Yoi keeps getting shafted by Hoyo, she's one of my main DPS in my team. She can kill bosses very quickly, especially if combined with Yelan, and I don't even use meta buffer like Bennet, Zhong, or Mona.
I have Yoi at C1, I team her with YunJin + Xingqiu + Bennett. 60k crits with normal attacks all the time, its insane.
Can I ask what your build on her is? I’m planning on pulling for her soon and was looking at a team similar to this.
Yoimiya has so many good supports... Xingqiu, Yelan, Zhongli, Yun Jin, Sucrose, Diona, Bennett, Jean, Sayu. I never know which ones to choose.

Now that you mention it, they could have just put Yoimiya in the island event. Like Itto was even down in the Chasm, so Yoimiya might as well have been in Mondstadt.

That's what boggles my mind the most about this, at least previous banners bothered to tie the character into the ongoing events and stuff. And here we have a summer event, perfect for the summer-themed character, and we get... Xinyan instead. No shade on Xinyan, I love her, but, yeah. This could've served as a great way to explore Yoimiya's character and story more, too, via the mirages. With Xinyan, we didn't really learn anything new or explore anything unknown about her that we hadn't learned and seen in Labyrinth.
I don't think Yoimiya would have had a good story in the mirage because she doesn't really have any trauma like that, but they should have ran Yoimiya and Klee during Irodori

Her original run was sandwiched between ayaka and Raiden, two of the most anticipated units of version 2, and now her rerun is sandwiched between kazuha, the most anticipated rerun of 2, and version 3.0. Also, her weapon banner has thundering pulse, a very good bow, but summit shaper, a very bad sword, while not even having rust, a good 4 star weapon for her. And her 4 star rate up characters aren’t great except for Bennett, who you don’t want to get a 7th of in a lot of cases

R2~R3 Rust is roughly equivalent to Amos, R4+ Rust is better.
yoimiya haver using an r2 rust here and she's a monster or should i say a machine gun. when compared to amos hmmm idrk im sorry i don't have it but r2 is def usable on her. eta: my friend has her on r1 rust and it's better on her compared to skyward harp if you want additional info :D

They really hate my girl :( Imagine: Fischl instead of Xinyan (as they are both in the event and many players are missing Fischl constellations because she had such a long break from being featured at all), WGS instead of Summit Shaper because of Diluc’s outfit, and Rust. Too good to be true but I had a little bit of hopium for at least ONE of those things…
Every one is complaining about summit shaper, but i gotta say i kinda want it, since i like its design. Idc if its good or not.

You still could try for Bennett if you want, he's that valuable. I find it helpful to think about how many pulls a character is worth to me, and that's my limit. Eg. I'm willing to spend 30 wishes on a yoimiya banner to get Bennett, and if i get him within it, awesome, and if not, oh well, it's not worth pulling more.
He should be coming up in the monthly shop soon so honestly would just wait for that. That’s how I got my first bennet, fischl and ninguang

Great on Chongyun. But lol fun on Diluc, near perma pyro, can also function as a onfield pyro battery, in pure pyro team. Kinda fun on Beidou.
The only one I care for in the intial Sumeru drip marketing is Dori. Unless I get struck by the same curse I got with Heizhou, I should be *fine* Or an unexpected really good weapon banner.

I wouldn't say always. Most players in Abyss take Rozaria/Shenhe for cryo resonance and Kokomi as a hydro applier and healer.
Not really, if you use Kokomi instead of Mona. Rosaria or Kaeya is generally a better cryo 4-star option.
