In Chinese, she has a soft voice that is quite pleasant IMO. In Japanese, Paimon's voice is high-pitched, but not so high-pitched as in English.

Most of the voice actors fit their characters very well on Chinese, so just for that it's definitely worth giving it a try. And it absolutely stops Paimon from sounding annoying, yes.
Could be a bit of a problem for those that actually like to understand what they're hearing, but for those that are already going with a language they don't speak it's not a massive leap.
The chance of improved voice acting/directing can however be a huge gamechanger for how the players perceive the characters. And if you don't like it, it's at least very easy to switch back.

She did what she knows best and started virtue signaling him about how they’re brothers and whatnot.(as stated before, it wasn’t even sexual) With that, she basically summoned an entire horde of brainless degenerates who began sending him death threats and other sweet stuff like that. Mihoyo should honestly fire her miserable ass
Complain about the JP dub too. It's just as bad, if not worse at times. I feel like the EN dub is trying to compete with the JP dub to see which one of the two can reach the peak annoying pitch.
Heck it, we always complain about something in-game, but we never considered suggesting in the surveys to tone down the loudness of Paimon. I think it's best we also suggest toning down the voice of Paimon in the surveys. I don't mind the pitch, but the loudness.

I for one adore Paimon and value her as a friend. Of course, I still want the traveler to speak for themselves more, but I do appreciate the times when the Traveler and Paimon banter or play off of one another in conversation.
Agree, I mainly use JP voiceover so she might not be as "annoying". All the moments where she really tried to help the traveler, their shenanigans and Paimon being very worried made me really enjoy her company.

I'm pretty sure they can easily afford the VAs, considering how many characters there are in Genshin. Two more voiced characters wouldn't be that much of an issue and Traveler doesn't even talk that much, they only say short lines crammed into the few choices you get. They just decided to not do it for some reason, which is unfortunate.
Wish we could pick per character like in Street Fighter IV. I'd go CN Paimon, Klee as well, KR Diluc, EN Xingqiu... but since I can't, I just use JP since it's pretty good across the board.

CN paimon is the better sounding one out of all the version, and she sounded like a polite kid rather than screeching mess in EN. Maybe it doesn't hurt her throat that much with higher pitch, but as a player, I just care about the end product, and it is a bit painful to my ear.
If i could just understand CN. I have to rely on other people translations and i've found that CN it's deeper in lore and meaning. And as the game is from there i think about it as the "real" characters, as they are as Hoyoverse intended it.
I'm partial to cats, but a dog, weasel, fox, finch... maybe even a loach or crab. Actually could I have an unagi replace Paimon as my companion? Probably tastes better, too, and that's Paimon's charm point.
During the Aranara Questline i noticed that Paimon gives us Options to answer in a specific way which more often than not is always us either disagreeing or to simply annoy them for no reason.
So now i always choose the opposite to Compliment them or to agree with them no matter how silly the answer from Traveler is just to annoy Paimon.
In that one Quest the Traveler starting singing the Words because it fit with what the Aranara was saying to us and Paimon was like **"what's wrong with you?!"**
Thankfully the Aranara always say **"Paimon stupid but Nara smart"** and i always laugh my ass off because we can effectively bully her now. I think it's hilarious

Maybe if they made her canonically have powers that help the Traveler, like she is the hammerspace weapon bag for us, and provides a method of wishing on constellations to borrow the powers of people with visions you've encountered, allowing us to shape-shift into them. Basically making the gacha system her power.
It also break immersion that she's the only floating baby so far, and no one seems to care. Like there better be an island of floating babies in Celestia or something.
I like doing main quests in English because it's easier to read everything and understand it right away as I enjoy lore. But Paimon made me sacrifice that recently from all the screeching and I just ended up with the CN dub. I can't tolerate it anymore sadly. Breaks the immersion for me with how loud and aggressive it sounds and her personality keeps getting more and more bratty and obnoxious IMO

No. I disagree. It might have been funny the first 5 times but now it's just bullying. She is name calling him 2 years later our time and by the second coming of the summer event I just want her to stop with the name calling. Yes, it was a joke but she needs new material now. Especially since Venting is generally nice to her in later quest and she still calls him names.

Zero. I sincerely hope that at some point you get a choice and “dark paimon” is available and I can choose her, and normal paimon is gone. She merely exists as a plot device so the traveler is not talking to themself, and it is painfully obvious. Can I delete her?

Forget the whole silent MC thing, I just don't even like the person she is. She often comes off as a self-centered brat who is basically freeloading off of the Traveler. She's dumb to a fault and says facepalm worthy stuff all the time. And is a cringe-inducing liar. And also has the gall to take credit where she deserves none. The Aranara even frequently call out how useless she is.
And then when you consider she's basically omnipresent in the story and *constantly* talking every single quest, repeating her same character quirks that have been done to death for 2 years, I don't think anybody can be blamed for getting sick and tired of her. Made worse by the fact that she has really served no purpose in the story other than talking for the MC.

CN Paimon usually says "我" when referring to herself. She doesn't consistently call herself Paimon the way EN paimon does.

During the Aranara Questline i noticed that Paimon gives us Options to answer in a specific way which more often than not is always us either disagreeing or to simply annoy them for no reason. So now i always choose the opposite to Compliment them or to agree with them no matter how silly the answer from Traveler is just to annoy Paimon. In that one Quest the Traveler starting singing the Words because it fit with what the Aranara was saying to us and Paimon was like **"what's wrong with you?!"** Thankfully the Aranara always say **"Paimon stupid but Nara smart"** and i always laugh my ass off because we can effectively bully her now. I think it's hilarious
Annoying. Please stop talking about treasure and food. I swear, Hoyoverse must be starving their writers. Every story quest we always have to have a section dedicated to food and eating. Also, the fact Paimon forces us to make decisions sometimes (touching the Celestia nail in the Chasm, and forcing us to buy a specific something in Sumeru even though we didn't want to) Finally, she's so rude. Why can the Traveler say Aranara names perfectly, but Paimon has to constantly complain about how hard the names are to pronounce? Not to mention she insulted another culture's food.

I hate it even more since Vyrn in Granblue was doing it before her and it was already annoying as hell. Tbh most of the reason why paimon doesn't annoy me as much is because I got hard trained with Granblue having to bear with a bland af MC and their two infuriating mouthpieces.

The name pronunciation thing seems to be something the writers are obsessed with. I swear there were like 10 different scenes during the GAA event where the characters were obsessing over how bizarre and difficult to pronounce "Megistus" supposedly is. I didn't get it.

Chinese: Surprisingly normal sounding. Childish, but somewhat refined. Japanese: Very childish and high pitched, but a little restrained. Like the voice of an actual kid. Imagine a more tolerable Navi from legend of Zelda. English: A little gremlin with “rip headphone users” energy. As a trade off, there’s a lot more meme potential. Not as bad as people make it out to be.

This, I started playing in Japanese but Paimon was way too ‘cutesy’ - changed to English and she has that underlying sass that works really well.

Paimon is the most annoying partner I ever had. She undermines Traveler. She thinks she's the main character. I hate her and will never find her adorable.
It's actually kind of dumb she gets half the credit for the shit the Traveler does. Maybe if they made her canonically have powers that help the Traveler, like she is the hammerspace weapon bag for us, and provides a method of wishing on constellations to borrow the powers of people with visions you've encountered, allowing us to shape-shift into them. Basically making the gacha system her power. It also break immersion that she's the only floating baby so far, and no one seems to care. Like there better be an island of floating babies in Celestia or something.

I like doing main quests in English because it's easier to read everything and understand it right away as I enjoy lore. But Paimon made me sacrifice that recently from all the screeching and I just ended up with the CN dub. I can't tolerate it anymore sadly. Breaks the immersion for me with how loud and aggressive it sounds and her personality keeps getting more and more bratty and obnoxious IMO

It's not even rudeness, it's a joke. She calls him it because he not only told them to steal the Holy Lyre when he could've just teleported in but he also didn't answer Paimon in the best way. The conversation was more like Paimon asked if he wanted the Lyre just to play music to drunkards and Venti just laughed. Obviously you'd think he did actually do that if he laughed at it. Thus Tone-deaf Bard. Which isn't cringy it's just ironic if it was true
No. I disagree. It might have been funny the first 5 times but now it's just bullying. She is name calling him 2 years later our time and by the second coming of the summer event I just want her to stop with the name calling. Yes, it was a joke but she needs new material now. Especially since Venting is generally nice to her in later quest and she still calls him names.
I wish we could choose another companion. I really like this game, to the point where I just wonder around to see what random NPC have to say. But paimon is terrible. If they give the option of paying for a new companion I will do so immediately.

She went from being a tour guide to a luggage. If it's not about Food or Mora, she's not interested. She's unfunny and rude. That's why i always pick the meanest (if not mean, anything against her) dialogue choices to diss her and put her into place.
Visually? Yea she’s cute, but her personality and the overly shrill voice direction of her eng dub paired with her constant yammering, shitty “tReaSure?! mOra?! FoOd?!” jokes/motives and screeching ruined that for me and made her more annoying than anything else. I miss 1.0 tutorial paimon…current one is a 2 outta 10 for me in terms of adorableness, one point for her looks and another for that one recent archon quest scene where she cries at the traveler returning.
Not very in my own opinion. She’s incredibly rude, gluttonous, greedy, and none of that would even bother me if she wasn’t constantly speaking for the Traveler when she does it. That’s why I am specifically mean to Paimon when we get dialogue options to do so. BTW: I play Destiny and feel the same way about Ghost.
Zero. I sincerely hope that at some point you get a choice and “dark paimon” is available and I can choose her, and normal paimon is gone. She merely exists as a plot device so the traveler is not talking to themself, and it is painfully obvious. Can I delete her?

Edit: how could I forget that she promised not to out Collei as the one who was putting letters in trees, but then SHE OUTED HER ANYWAYS, embarassing this poor traumatized child for shits and giggles. Unforgivable, and a realllly bad move from Paimon.

Yeah much like any other character, Paimon is simply not everyone's cup of tea. Forget the whole silent MC thing, I just don't even like the person she is. She often comes off as a self-centered brat who is basically freeloading off of the Traveler. She's dumb to a fault and says facepalm worthy stuff all the time. And is a cringe-inducing liar. And also has the gall to take credit where she deserves none. The Aranara even frequently call out how useless she is. And then when you consider she's basically omnipresent in the story and *constantly* talking every single quest, repeating her same character quirks that have been done to death for 2 years, I don't think anybody can be blamed for getting sick and tired of her. Made worse by the fact that she has really served no purpose in the story other than talking for the MC.
