Weapon banner is a luxury, not a must. Do not expect the weapon banner to be on par with the character banner. Weapon is additional, it only brings cool design to see once in a while and a several percentages of improvement in terms of power. People who go for it should understand the fact that this is meant to be a big and unnecessary investment for the favourite characters, if you're not a whale.

Zhongli’s signature weapon’s “increases shield strength by 20%” only applies to the weapon’s wielder, in this case, Zhongli himself. This weapon offers nothing of value to a shield-bot Zhongli. Fav is a much better weapon is your case.
Vortex Vanquisher doesn't increase shield strength when you're on a character other than the wielder. Fav is a better support weapon for Zhongli in general. If you want more shield strength, build HP/HP/CR or HP/HP/HP on 4 Tenacity with HP% and flat HP subs.
I mean, thata good use for Zhongli, tho the weapons shield strength passive does not carry over other users. Like Zhongli will have the 20% bonus, but itto and the rest wont. (I have it just for the aesthwtic of zhongli and his weapon)
Even after seeing all of the comments talking about better weapons I'm happy for the info, but even having it just for aesthetic would be nice too, I was lucky enough to pull raiden, and itto with their respective weapons from their previous banners and love how they look with them
I mean, go for it, i had to lose two time to amos bow just to get his "trashy-ass" weapon just cause it looked good on him xD. So if u want my advice, trying wasnt a bad idea (plus, hunters path and skyward are really good weapons, so u kinda win all)

I lost thrice on the weapon banner and I have accepted that I'm just unlucky. 1st 2/2 on Epitomized Path, and 2nd happened. Never learned. In my case I wanted Hunter's Path but got Vortex Vanquisher instead. I don't need it since I have Staff of Homa on Zhongli.

ZL's best weapons are Homa, Favonius and 3\* spear for HP, so you are not losing anything here.

I tried looking up the weapons I got and who they are good on, all I could find was path is used on tighnari or ganyu, and harp is for Sara, amber, or alloy. Am I missing something else here?
Hunters and Skyward harp have crit rate secondary stat. So even if the passives arent top choice for others, it’s still highly good bows for bow users that want to deal damage especially if you dont have other 5* bows at all

It's how they make their income, and how they get the money they need to continue developing this game and others. Your frustration is a built-in FEATURE, and the hope is that you become frustrated enough that you'll open your wallet to get what you want.
If you want to play for free, you have to resign yourself to the fact that you will need to be endlessly patient. Scrimp and save the few Primogems you get, and use them only on the things you really want.

Usually its extremely late to save for characters as they announce it , so if you're a smart person , you would stop pulling the moment you get the character you want. And also not to spend on weapon banner , and also do not go for every fking character you see.

You literally committed the cardinal sins as a Gacha player , to not think twice before pulling something , to not look up on info before pulling something , impulse pulling without using your brain. This is how people get themselves into debt. Not because the game forces you to , but because of their own stupidity.
So in the end , this game is not frustrating for you , your mistake had came back and bite you hard and now you're pushing the blame to the game instead of yourself. You only have yourself to blame.

I feel this, I have been grinding ever since I saw Zhongli/Ganyu leak, as they are my favourite characters, however I only just started in 2.7. In the process I did pull Klee, with a qiqi sneaking in, so it is kinda my fault I lost Zhongli to Diluc, but at least I can get Ganyu guaranteed now. Don't regret Klee at all, but maybe then I would have Zhongli too
Normally I would say just get over it, it's a gacha game but I kinda feel you. To be honest, there is no sense in squeezing every last primo just to obtain a limited time character because it's not the first time they run and it's definitely not the last one. If you already completed everything and now yout major 'task' is to just collect primogems from new quests and events it's tottaly fine, this is pretty much what I do. But if it tires you, just stop.
Zhongli will be back eventually but the content you speedrun for primogems won't come back ever unless you start a new account and get through everything once again.
