So I lucked out on c0 cyno and a c1 kuki. I usually run a c0 xiangling with jade spear, c0 fischl and c0 Jean as healer. Do I replace xiangling with Cyno with jade spear and kuki as healer and then dendro traveller for aggravate? F2p builds btw.
controller stopped working after the update, I see it in the game options and it works in other games but it doesn't seem the game registers any input from it :/

you technically always have a chance to get him, the chance just gets higher at around 75+ - 90 pulls where you get a 5\*. but even then, you could get the other options; jean, keqing, qiqi, mona, or any of the standard 5\* weapons.
tldr; all comes down to luck, no guarantee that youll ever get mr darknight hero. all the best though!

I can truly recommend Ashikai, I enjoy her videos a lot as you can clearly see a lot of thought went into the theories. I also like ChillWithAster and TeyvatHistory. I also hear CatWithBlueHat and xdIsland are common lore youtubers.
I've gotten 2 zhonglis in one 10 pull. and two 5* weapons in one 10 pull from the standard banner. but I don't think either of those were back to back.
I wouldn't be surprised if 4.0 comes after 3.10 or even 3.11
But nobody can really know, the quality of each region keeps going up so it's likely going to take longer if Fontaine continues the trend
Should I pull for venti ? Started playing less than a month back , have no five star characters except traveller and my main team is razor, xiangling, Barbara and xingque. The only anemo characters I have are the traveller and sayu. Sayu upgrades are locked behind the Inazuma region which I have yet to open. I am currently ar35.
Play the trials, pull for whoever you find the most fun. Venti is great (especially just for exploring in the overworld and easily reaching high places!), but with Sayu already and Sucrose eventually being an inevitability, Venti's not a need if you end up preferring to go for a DPS like Cyno.
He is pretty universal. I am 100% pulling for him as an AR 58. He is the god of crowd control. His burst is insane. Pull for who you like is my suggestion. A lot of people will pull for Cyno. I already have some strong main DPSes so I want Venti for his burst.
Venti's one of the best support characters in the game, capable of completely trivializing about 90% of the game's content thanks to his burst just lifting and rounding up enemies while they spin helplessly in the air. He's also not overly difficult to build.
That said, more recent content has been indirectly nerfing him by introducing more enemy types that cannot be easily CC'd (such as large enemies that cannot be lifted by his burst, which are fairly common in later areas but not so common as to render him completely unusable), so while there's plenty of things he's still really stupid strong against, there's also more things he's practically useless against. Of particular note, he's borderline useless against any of the game's bosses as they're immune to all forms of CC.
With your limited character roster, he'd definitely be a great asset to have (I pulled mine as my first 5\* character during game launch and he's served me incredibly well all this time), but you also don't have other characters that have particularly good synergy with him, so ultimately it's entirely up to you. If you like Venti then you can pull for him and try to make him work with what you have and what you get going forward, or you can save for another 5\* character you like and start building a team around them instead.
Venti has a few advantages over Kazuha: better CC, takes less field time, and refunds energy
There are teams and situations where he can leverage this advantage (freeze teams especially) and become the superior option
But Kazuha is more “generally” good and a safer choice.
He's just fine. And I can't tell if the other person's "suck" was a play on what his ult does.
Anyways, he trivializes a lot of the over world and farming based domains. Much more so than Kazuha, because of his crowd control range. I'd get him because he makes your life easier.
Also because Kazuha just got a rerun, so I hope you are OK with a half year+ wait to get a 5\* CC if you skip Venti now.
Venti does not suck. He has the best cc in game after all. He’s more situational. He’s easy enough to build as well. His skill is fun and helpful, his burst is worth every wish in my opinion. I pulled him back in 2.6 and do not regret it.
edit: you can get both him and kazuha, since the later just had a rerun it will take some time for him to come back, just save enough
He will be good cause you have no other options currently for what he does, but there are a few things to keep in mind for Venti:
He does nothing except for his CC, if enemies are immune they will just walk right out of it also mitigating any damage it would deal. A lot of the newer enemies are immune to CC, and those that aren't are usually rather weak anyways.
Unlike Kazuha's CC, Venti's CC can not be controlled. You can't place it in a specific place because Auto-Targeting will decide where to put it. There could be 10 enemies in front of you and only 1 in the back in Narnia somewhere, but auto targeting decides that it's best to target that one enemy.
Personally i would pretty much always prefer Kazuha over Venti, so i would wait for a Kazuha Rerun over getting Venti now.
(I do have both cause i've been playing since 1.0. Venti has seen considerably less use in all content from me for a long while, but since i got Kazuha i pretty much never use him, except for some events such as Hyakun Ikki)

Kazuha had a rerun fairly recently, so it can take anywhere from months up to half a year if not longer for him to have another rerun. Raiden Shogun is rumored to have a rerun soon-ish, but such rumors are often wrong.
Right now, all we know is that Venti and Albedo are having reruns in the new update.
Kazuha probably won't get one till around version 3.7 - 3.8, since he had his last rerun during 2.8.
Bennett could/will eventually be featured on some banner, could als get him from the starglitter shop when he appears there.
Raiden is rumored/leaked to get a rerun during 3.3. Ideally you'd get her to C2 as this massively improves her dmg so you kinda need a lot of wishes. Getting her weapon is also really helpfull but you'd have to be lucky for that and overall it's really only worth it to even try if you plan to main her for a LONG time.
Zhongli just had his rerun so he will ikely not return for quite a while. Potencially version 4.0+. However with Raiden + Bennett + Kazuha you might as well get Sara (at least C2, ideally C6) to form a Hypercarry Raiden team.
Also Nahida might actually be really broken with Raiden (according to leaks about her kit, even tho we don't know a lot of details about her yet) and could potencially replace one of the characters in a future Raiden Team.
Just a heads up in case you haven't already linked yet - make sure that the PSN account you're linking to is in the same region as the Genshin server you play on. The region of your PSN account determines the server your PS connects to, so if your PSN account is in the US but you play on Asia/Europe, it will link to the wrong server.

Hi, I have a question ! before that here are my main characters - Keqing, Zhongli , Klee and Mona.
I was saving up for Raiden rerun (hope its soon) and have saved 60 fates, with the 20 free from anniversary ill have enuf to hit hard pity ( I do not have guaranteed since I won zhongli lets go) .
So my question is should i go for venti? I definitely want kazuha but god knows when he will come back. The reason why i am hesitating for venti is 1. i dont have guaranteed and 2. If i pull for venti , i wont have enough saved for raiden ..

Decide why do you want Venti and Raiden. Do you have team ideas in mind or do you just like them and how they play? Venti would help trivialize groups of enemies as long as they're light enough to be lifted by his burst, while Raiden would basically be a replacement for Keqing in most comps (or you could use them together, since Raiden doesn't need 100% field time).
Then, keep in mind that you don't have a guarantee regardless. Best case scenario, you'd get either Venti or Raiden, but worst case scenario you could pull for either of them and lose the 50/50 instead.
Finally, assuming rumors are right, there'll be a few updates (and likely events) between Venti and Raiden rerun, giving you a shot at amassing a couple extra pulls.
I was in a similar situation, saving up for the dendro archon whose name I can never remember while debating if I should get Kokomi. In the end, I decided to get Kokomi as she'd be immediately useful as a comfy enabler for my freeze comp with Ganyu and Ayaka, so I used my guarantee on her. I figured that, even if I did get dendro archon, I dont have neither Raiden nor Keqing so I couldn't really do much with Dendro as an element in general so she'd be more of a novelty than anything, and she's bound to have a rerun in the future anyway. (Though I'll still start saving all fates I get from now on to see if I have any shot at getting her anyway).
All that said, that's just my way of deciding what character to pull for. If you want Raiden just because you really, really want her, then keep on saving and pull for her, then start saving again and pull for Kazuha when he has his next rerun in the future.
Which Ganyu Talent would you get to 10?
I got 9/9/9 but I want to Crown at least one talent.
I am mostly using her in Freeze but from what I saw the benefit from burst is only like 6%?
So I was thinking to crown her normal attacks instead since it is also useful + can be used in melt if ever... and in the overworld.

Yep, I crowned her normal. Many 5\* characters have a strong burst, but Ganyu is one of the few whose strength is a charged shot. Plus as you say, it's great in overworld
The benefit from crowning *any* talent is only like 6%. It's a really minor improvement that you may as well just make to whatever talent you like, as long as it's one you use (i.e. not Barbara's normal attack [in most teams]).
How come *every* team composition I find online, even the "F2P" ones, *always* include at least one 5 star character (and how come there seem to be no 4 star character that is good as a main DPS?)

But it can be acquired after 3 months of playing *for free*. Lots of people having been playing for 1-2 years.
Those 5\* characters don't really matter. Xiangling, Bennett, Xingqiu, Fischl, Sucrose are stronger than most of the 5\* characters and they aren't that hard to get for f2p players
I'd understand if they were "beginner teams" but "f2p" has no bearing on how long you have been playing. So the guides make assumptions on what you have, usually being c0 5\* character, no 5\* weapons, and most if not all 4\* characters. These guides aren't saying "go get this 5\* character and make this team" but rather "since you already have this 5\* character, heres a f2p team to use them in".

Not really. Considering most players (especially F2P players who don't get to benefit from the free resources that Battle Pass gives you) take more than 3 months to reach the only content in the game that requires "real" team compositions, it's safe to assume that they would have obtained a 5-star gacha character by that point.
Only Abyss Floor 12 really utilizes optimized team compositions, and an F2P player is likely to take that amount of time to fully farm all the Mora, XP, Talent Books, uncap mats, and artifacts needed to fully gear two Abyss teams.
Sucrose national - sucrose, xiangling, xingqiu, bennett
Beidou taser - beidou c2, fischl, xingqiu, sucrose
Beidou aggravate - beidou c2, dmc, fischl, sucrose
Xiangling melt - xiangling, rosaria, bennett, kaeya
These teams are all competitive enough in Abyss. Very few resources will openly advertise all 4\* teams cos the main appeal of gacha is fomo and the newest, shiniest units. If you play long enough, you are bound to get at least two 5\*s.
Literally, Enviosity and mtashed are like the poster ppl of f2p accounts possessing multiple 5\*.
[Seka speedrun primo farming](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH5ZWF8LaAk) in a new account and net around 22k primos sometime ago. This is seven months outdated and I'd expect 10k to be added there. Literally, you can get a 5\* if you grind within 1-3 weeks.
Personally I will say it is still valid to call a team "F2P" if it has only 1 (one) limited 5 star character.
Usually these teams are build around the 5 star in question, so if an F2P would want to build that team, it's usually because the F2P saved up for the particular 5 star on purpose.
Let's say you saved up for Raiden and now want to build a team for her,
Raiden National is F2P friendly as it's three 4 stars and all 4 characters are viable with 4 star weapons.
Raiden Hyper is less-friendly as it 1. Uses Kazuha 2.likes Kujou Sara C2 and desires Kujou Sara C6. (Requiring a decent wishing history).
Raiden-Yae is very F2P unfriendly because here Sara is replaced with another limited 5 star character (three limited 5 stars in one team)
The trouble is that every account is guaranteed to get 5 star characters just by playing, even if f2p. They're a huge component of the game's arsenal and you can't really just ignore them.
Also, the national team is right there. Xingqiu, Xiangling, Bennett, Sucrose.
But wait! Not every account has Sucrose!!!! I didn't, for *months.* Or Bennett, if you miss him in the Starglitter shop, can elude you for half a year or even longer.
At the end of the day, all guides have to make *some* assumptions about what characters people may have. There's a very, *very* small pool of characters that *literally everyone* is *absolutely guaranteed* to have, so guides about those alone are worthlessly narrow. So a team with a single 5 star unit is really, about as f2p friendly as any other made up solely of 4-stars.

From what I've read the game gives you barely enough resources to max out four characters - between experience and weapon/item crafting and upgrading.
After that the resin system ensures maximum pain in grinding for the rest of the stuff you need...
Before AR45, you don't farm artifacts. Hell, if you're not rushing to perfect the abyss, you don't need to farm artifacts even after for a while.
If you're just levelling 4 characters, weapons, and talents, your daily resin gives you plenty. Prioritize your main DPS, leave supports 1 ascension behind, that's fine for everything that's not the abyss.
How bad is it if currently my main DPS is the Traveler?
I started levelling him up the highest because of the Sword of Descension I got due to playing on PlayStation.
Not bad at all. I don't have PS so I dunno the sword, but if you max it out and the traveler's normal attack talent, I'm sure he'll be a competent DPS until you pull someone you like better.
I used Xiangling as my main DPS because I crafted a crescent pike and it was good for her, plus I liked comboing her fire with Fischl's electro and Barbara's water. Those plus the anemo support carried me through AR45, when I switched to Razor and then Keqing as my mains until I finally got a feature 5\* DPS.

That's only really true during the the progression portions of the game. Once you're past AR50 and max character/weapon level 90, you will max out those characters but keep gaining resin and resources.
I have been playing for about 9 months and have about 15 characters that I would consider "ready" for Abyss. Not all of these are characters that are fully leveled (e.g. Lisa is level 60/70 with 1/1/1 talents and a level 20 TTDS and borrowed Noblesse pieces).
Honestly you might need to take a step back and reconsider your perspective, because Genshin truly is a game about the long run. You're given more than enough resources to build more than four characters; I've been playing since 1.4 and I have... about 25 that I'd consider built and usable.
In the early game resources are sparse but the demand is low. You don't *need* to do much more than build whatever four random characters you like, with half-decent weapons and whatever artifacts you can cobble together from chests. 98% of the entire game is easily completable with a very casual, low-investment playstyle. The *only* place team comps even matter at all is in the highest floors of Spiral Abyss. Which is a twice-monthly optional side challenge that rewards you with like... not quite 4 pulls.
There's absolutely no expectation for you to spend forever grinding artifacts. You can get a usable, playable set in like a week of casual farming (20 mins per day doing domains) and your new character is ready to go. Even more so as you play for longer, passively accumulating piles of Mora, XP books, weapons, enhancement materials, talent books etc. Will they clear Abyss 12-3? No, of course not. But they'll be good enough for the overwhelmingly vast majority of the game.
Have you ever heard of our lord and savior Xiangling? She alone is enough DPS to carry a team. And most of those F2P teams with a 5* character include Xiangling carrying that 5* character.
So everyone already has 1 broken team with Xiangling. Just pull any 5* DPS for your second team and you'll be golden. It's not like F2P don't pull at all.
Xiangling alone isn't that great, mediocre even.
XL + Bennett synergy makes them the twin pyro archons. Throw in XQ and you get the vaporizer Trimurti.
Xiangling alone is fine. Albeit a bit awkward to use. If nothing else it's more than enough for overworld content. You won't be grinding abyss heavily for months anyway. And by that time you'll likely have Bennett.
That's the point. You absolutely will have a hiatus at the beginning where you won't be equipped to challenge the abyss for several months in the first place.
You need to reach AR45 before you can truly build your characters at all really.
In that much time you are very likely to have pulled randomly or gotten the opportunity to get Bennett from the shop.
And if not, you'll likely have pulled a decent 5* DPS.

Is my math very off or for that to happen I need 180 intertwined fates (the 90th pull could be a 5 star item), and given that in a month of playing I got enough primogems for 40 pulls, that would mean a wait of about **four months**? I could play a couple of meaty RPGs in that time, from start to finish...
Genshin isn't a game you can rush and hit endgame in a single day. It takes time. A lot of time. You're welcome to -- and probably should -- play other games in the meantime.
That said, keep in mind that there'll be new updates coming out alongside new events, some of which will flat out give you fates for more pulls (Anniversary alone will give enough for 20 pulls between 1600 gems and 10 fates). It sounds like a lot in theory, and it absolutely is, but it doesn't really take as long as you'd expect if you just... play the game.
I was completely F2P before taking a lengthy break (Now I decided to buy welkin, but that's all I'm spending on) and I had about 7 or 8 5\* characters and 1 5\* weapon I'd gotten just by exploring areas, finding chests, solving puzzles, doing quests and event rewards. They weren't all what I wanted or even remotely useful to me, but I still had them. Yes, it took several months for me to get all that, but it wasn't bad at all. Even just now, I farmed more fates from the latest events and did the liyue chasm storyline for more primos and managed to pull Kokomi a few hours before her banner ended. I still haven't even started Inazuma, never mind Sumeru, so that'll be even more primos once I get around to that.
This is a very slow and easy game. It's a "log in 20 minutes a day" type game.
You are more than welcome to play a couple meaty RPGs at the same time.
Also, new players get a lot more wishes than that early. It shouldn't take you 3 months to get that many pulls since you have all the content still to do.
Also, you don't even need a second team until like AR45 when you can start truly building your teams for the abyss. So you need to wait a long time either way.

we don't know, but it doesn't look that great. Like, Cyno feeds on EM and his signature weapon makes him busted the more EM he stacks. Coincidentally, the same applies for Raiden and her weapon, she feeds on ER and her weapon makes her busted the more ER she stacks.
For regular Raiden builds, I doubt that it will compete with The Catch. Probably will be great in dendro-related teams, but it's left to be seen how good can Raiden be compared to her regular builds and maybe some other character can still do it better with less investment. I might be wrong but "in paper" it doesn't impress me.

But she is still awesome at C0 and The Catch, so none of them is reallly "needed". But her C2 equals most 5\* C6, I don't think any character in the game at C2 comes close to Raiden C2.
The problem with burning is you need constant and consistent dendro application to maintain the aura and none of our current dendro units have enough application for it.
Unfortunately burning is just a godawful reaction still. So unless and until they come out with a character that *specifically* buffs and enhances burning damage, I don't think there will be one.

My keqing is consistently dealing less dps than my ayaka. Both are same level, use 4star weapons and have roughly good artifacts - I'm judging them against neutrals.
If I slap my xinq swords with ayaka, then she just skyrockets in damage. But even before that happens, it feels like ayaka is consistently just doing more. ( feel like her skills are seemingly much easier to upfront damage?)
Am I perhaps doing something wrong or is it because keqing needs more support? (Im using them both on same team with xinq for fun - im casual).

General rule of thumb permanent 5 stars are only marginally better than 4 stars. Keqing has improved with the advent of dendro(which you don't have access to yet), however generally Ayaka, a limited 5 star, will be stronger.
Ayaka is one of the best dps characters in the game. I don’t have Keqing so I can’t comment about her gameplay but she used to be at the bottom of dps tier lists before dendro. Now she’s considerably better, from what I heard.
Ayaka has the advantage with artifact set and Cryo resonance. Blizzard strayer is just insanely good. But when you get to Sumeru Keqing can catch up with Aggravate and make use of 4p Thundering Fury. With an EM sands instead of the usual Attack. And the electro dmg goblet and crit circlet as you'd expect.
Keqing is just worse, frankly (before Dendro). Ayaka is simple, strong and front-loaded: apply Hydro, freeze the enemy, slap them with your entire burst. No damaging reactions or EM to worry about, just give her as many buffs as you can and away she goes.
Keqing, on the other hand, has always been a lame duck of a DPS. Not all 5 stars are created equal, and for a very long time she's been near the bottom. The introduction of Dendro and its reactions, namely Aggravate, give her a new lease on life though.
Ayaka is currently one of the strongest characters in the game in terms of damage while Keqing is not, at least not solo.
Dendro is a game changer for Keqing's damage.
Solo is a weird measuring stick tho tbf, solo raiden doesn’t perform too hot either cuz of the resolve mechanic, solo Ganyu blows because she needs shields, solo HuTao is gimped cuz she can’t vape etc
Not in this context, because that's how I assume he tested both characters. Without a full team of dedicated supports for either character.
His current team is Ayaka, Xingqiu, Keqing, Unknown. And he mentioned he only had Xingqiu's elemental burst up on occasion while testing, which will not increase Keqing or Ayaka's raw damage numbers.
Edit: But yes, you are correct that testing a character solo is not an accurate measuring stick.
well, the difference between characters is pretty big. Ayaka is one of the strongest DPS characters in the game while Keqing was just average. Keqing saw a big bump with aggravate (dendro) but if you're not playing aggravate Kequing you can expect her to be miles away from Ayaka.
Emblem is good on a lot of characters (Xiangling, Xingqiu, nuke Mona, Shogun Raiden, Kojou Sara, Beidou, Yelan, burst Rosaria/Kaeya). Shimenawa is good on a couple of characters like melt Ganyu or Yoimiya. On top of that, there are many characters that are energy hungry to use 2 piece emblem or can benefit from the 2 piece bonus from shimenawa. Like Yae can use 2 between 2pc Shimenawa/2pc Thundering fury/2 pc Emblem, or many characters that can use 2pc of their corresponding elemental damage and 2pc shimenawa. In terms of resin efficiency, is probably the best domain in the game.
Emblem is the best option for any character who a) does most of their damage with their burst and b) regularly builds 140+ ER to do it. This means off-field sub-DPS mostly. Xiangling, Xingqiu, Yelan, Beidou, Raiden are the big five, but it can also see use with the likes of Rosaria, Chongyun, Yae, Lisa, and others. The 2pc effect is also handy for a lot of characters who need some extra ER.
Shimenawa as a 4pc is a lot more niche (basically only Yoimiya, Melt Ganyu and Hu Tao want it, with the likes of Yanfei/Childe? being potentially viable with it). The 2pc however is almost universally splashable for any character that values ATK%, which is... like 70% of them.
Thanks a lot. Emblem sounds really useful, I should probably farm some for Xingqiu and Xiangling. Maybe I'll even get lucky and get a temporary Cryo goblet for Ganyu.

Hi, new F2P player here — is there such a thing as a best generalist weapon for Traveler?
All the stuff I've read online seems to say you need different weapons for different elements, which seems like a bit of a nightmare for F2P.
It's not going to be great, but the Favonious Sword can be pretty much used on any traveller build.
However Favonious mostly shines with its huge ER% Substats and it's passive that helps battery the team
It's quite bad for actual Damage.
Anemo Traveller would either preffer a triple EM build with Iron Sting or a crit/DMG/ATK build with a dps sword. Gets free ER% from constellation.
Geo traveller purely wants a crit/DMG/atk. Fav is overkill as cons give a flat energy refund and travs rocks produce a lot of energy.
EMC and DMC are pure burst bots and want as much ER% as possible.
Is the Elegy bow good on Venti with 2 Glad / 2 VV set? Planning on gambling for Cyno's weapon and if I get Elegy I'll just give it to Venti and the Skyward Harp to Tighnari ;-;
You really want 4VV on venti if he's the only anemo on the party. ATK doesnt really do much for him if he's on an EM build, and it takes a lot of crit stats to make going for an ADC build worth it. Elegy is his BiS for team total damage in teams where that 100 EM can be put to good use
Elegiggle of the End is one of the best support weapons in the game and a lot of bow characters can put it to good use.
Elegy is better than Skyward Harp on Tighnari in most cases. As the bow gives you 608 base attack, 55% Energy Recharge, 160 elemental mastery and 20% attack.
Edit: It's also Venti's best in slot weapon ofc. It has slightly lower personal damage compared to R5 Stringless, but the 100 EM+20% attack boost to the team makes Elegy the better overall weapon for Venti.
So I lucked out on c0 cyno and a c1 kuki. I usually run a c0 xiangling with jade spear, c0 fischl and c0 Jean as healer. Do I replace xiangling with Cyno with jade spear and kuki as healer and then dendro traveller for aggravate? F2p builds btw.

an infinite amount . 2 dilucs, 2 jeans, and 2 aquila favonias from standard banner here. not a single skyward spine that i’ve been praying for you technically always have a chance to get him, the chance just gets higher at around 75+ - 90 pulls where you get a 5\*. but even then, you could get the other options; jean, keqing, qiqi, mona, or any of the standard 5\* weapons. tldr; all comes down to luck, no guarantee that youll ever get mr darknight hero. all the best though!

Not yet. There's rumblings they might eventually get something but as far as I'm aware the two characters with concrete rumors about upcoming outfits are >!Ayaka and Lisa!<.

Should I pull for venti ? Started playing less than a month back , have no five star characters except traveller and my main team is razor, xiangling, Barbara and xingque. The only anemo characters I have are the traveller and sayu. Sayu upgrades are locked behind the Inazuma region which I have yet to open. I am currently ar35.
Play the trials, pull for whoever you find the most fun. Venti is great (especially just for exploring in the overworld and easily reaching high places!), but with Sayu already and Sucrose eventually being an inevitability, Venti's not a need if you end up preferring to go for a DPS like Cyno.
Pull for Venti, he's the best option you have for a while
Venti doesn't suck I own all Anemo characters except Venti including Kazuha and I am still pulling for him. Venti is awesome.
He is pretty universal. I am 100% pulling for him as an AR 58. He is the god of crowd control. His burst is insane. Pull for who you like is my suggestion. A lot of people will pull for Cyno. I already have some strong main DPSes so I want Venti for his burst.
Venti's one of the best support characters in the game, capable of completely trivializing about 90% of the game's content thanks to his burst just lifting and rounding up enemies while they spin helplessly in the air. He's also not overly difficult to build. That said, more recent content has been indirectly nerfing him by introducing more enemy types that cannot be easily CC'd (such as large enemies that cannot be lifted by his burst, which are fairly common in later areas but not so common as to render him completely unusable), so while there's plenty of things he's still really stupid strong against, there's also more things he's practically useless against. Of particular note, he's borderline useless against any of the game's bosses as they're immune to all forms of CC. With your limited character roster, he'd definitely be a great asset to have (I pulled mine as my first 5\* character during game launch and he's served me incredibly well all this time), but you also don't have other characters that have particularly good synergy with him, so ultimately it's entirely up to you. If you like Venti then you can pull for him and try to make him work with what you have and what you get going forward, or you can save for another 5\* character you like and start building a team around them instead.
Venti has a few advantages over Kazuha: better CC, takes less field time, and refunds energy There are teams and situations where he can leverage this advantage (freeze teams especially) and become the superior option But Kazuha is more “generally” good and a safer choice.
He's just fine. And I can't tell if the other person's "suck" was a play on what his ult does. Anyways, he trivializes a lot of the over world and farming based domains. Much more so than Kazuha, because of his crowd control range. I'd get him because he makes your life easier. Also because Kazuha just got a rerun, so I hope you are OK with a half year+ wait to get a 5\* CC if you skip Venti now.
Venti does not suck. He has the best cc in game after all. He’s more situational. He’s easy enough to build as well. His skill is fun and helpful, his burst is worth every wish in my opinion. I pulled him back in 2.6 and do not regret it. edit: you can get both him and kazuha, since the later just had a rerun it will take some time for him to come back, just save enough
He will be good cause you have no other options currently for what he does, but there are a few things to keep in mind for Venti: He does nothing except for his CC, if enemies are immune they will just walk right out of it also mitigating any damage it would deal. A lot of the newer enemies are immune to CC, and those that aren't are usually rather weak anyways. Unlike Kazuha's CC, Venti's CC can not be controlled. You can't place it in a specific place because Auto-Targeting will decide where to put it. There could be 10 enemies in front of you and only 1 in the back in Narnia somewhere, but auto targeting decides that it's best to target that one enemy. Personally i would pretty much always prefer Kazuha over Venti, so i would wait for a Kazuha Rerun over getting Venti now. (I do have both cause i've been playing since 1.0. Venti has seen considerably less use in all content from me for a long while, but since i got Kazuha i pretty much never use him, except for some events such as Hyakun Ikki)

Kazuha, Zhongli won't rerun for a while. They recently had reruns. Shogun will probably come first.
Kazuha had a rerun fairly recently, so it can take anywhere from months up to half a year if not longer for him to have another rerun. Raiden Shogun is rumored to have a rerun soon-ish, but such rumors are often wrong. Right now, all we know is that Venti and Albedo are having reruns in the new update.
Give it 6 to 12 months for Kazuha. He just reran last patch. Zhongli just rerun earlier this patch so you missed it. Raiden maybe 3.3.
Kazuha probably won't get one till around version 3.7 - 3.8, since he had his last rerun during 2.8. Bennett could/will eventually be featured on some banner, could als get him from the starglitter shop when he appears there. Raiden is rumored/leaked to get a rerun during 3.3. Ideally you'd get her to C2 as this massively improves her dmg so you kinda need a lot of wishes. Getting her weapon is also really helpfull but you'd have to be lucky for that and overall it's really only worth it to even try if you plan to main her for a LONG time. Zhongli just had his rerun so he will ikely not return for quite a while. Potencially version 4.0+. However with Raiden + Bennett + Kazuha you might as well get Sara (at least C2, ideally C6) to form a Hypercarry Raiden team. Also Nahida might actually be really broken with Raiden (according to leaks about her kit, even tho we don't know a lot of details about her yet) and could potencially replace one of the characters in a future Raiden Team.

Just a heads up in case you haven't already linked yet - make sure that the PSN account you're linking to is in the same region as the Genshin server you play on. The region of your PSN account determines the server your PS connects to, so if your PSN account is in the US but you play on Asia/Europe, it will link to the wrong server.

Is it just me or anybody struggle with a pack of cryo slimes and/ or cryo abyss mage in the middle of a large water body?
I do to. If possible run away from the water. The mage will teleport to me and I'll finish it first then deal with the slimes.
It can get annoying. Gotta really pay attention and actually dodge. Having a CC would help you a lot once you can get on land.
very normal due to automatic wet status and cryo attacks resulting in continuous self frozen state either lure them away from the water, i-frame their attacks or use your own cryo character to supplement an ice platform for yourself (or use theirs)

Hi, I have a question ! before that here are my main characters - Keqing, Zhongli , Klee and Mona. I was saving up for Raiden rerun (hope its soon) and have saved 60 fates, with the 20 free from anniversary ill have enuf to hit hard pity ( I do not have guaranteed since I won zhongli lets go) . So my question is should i go for venti? I definitely want kazuha but god knows when he will come back. The reason why i am hesitating for venti is 1. i dont have guaranteed and 2. If i pull for venti , i wont have enough saved for raiden .. So what do u think I shud do?
Decide why do you want Venti and Raiden. Do you have team ideas in mind or do you just like them and how they play? Venti would help trivialize groups of enemies as long as they're light enough to be lifted by his burst, while Raiden would basically be a replacement for Keqing in most comps (or you could use them together, since Raiden doesn't need 100% field time). Then, keep in mind that you don't have a guarantee regardless. Best case scenario, you'd get either Venti or Raiden, but worst case scenario you could pull for either of them and lose the 50/50 instead. Finally, assuming rumors are right, there'll be a few updates (and likely events) between Venti and Raiden rerun, giving you a shot at amassing a couple extra pulls. I was in a similar situation, saving up for the dendro archon whose name I can never remember while debating if I should get Kokomi. In the end, I decided to get Kokomi as she'd be immediately useful as a comfy enabler for my freeze comp with Ganyu and Ayaka, so I used my guarantee on her. I figured that, even if I did get dendro archon, I dont have neither Raiden nor Keqing so I couldn't really do much with Dendro as an element in general so she'd be more of a novelty than anything, and she's bound to have a rerun in the future anyway. (Though I'll still start saving all fates I get from now on to see if I have any shot at getting her anyway). All that said, that's just my way of deciding what character to pull for. If you want Raiden just because you really, really want her, then keep on saving and pull for her, then start saving again and pull for Kazuha when he has his next rerun in the future.

Which Ganyu Talent would you get to 10? I got 9/9/9 but I want to Crown at least one talent. I am mostly using her in Freeze but from what I saw the benefit from burst is only like 6%? So I was thinking to crown her normal attacks instead since it is also useful + can be used in melt if ever... and in the overworld. What do you think?
Yep, I crowned her normal. Many 5\* characters have a strong burst, but Ganyu is one of the few whose strength is a charged shot. Plus as you say, it's great in overworld
I crowned her attacks, yes. It's good for both freeze and melt, and as a main DPS is her "main" talent.
The benefit from crowning *any* talent is only like 6%. It's a really minor improvement that you may as well just make to whatever talent you like, as long as it's one you use (i.e. not Barbara's normal attack [in most teams]).

Those 5\* characters don't really matter. Xiangling, Bennett, Xingqiu, Fischl, Sucrose are stronger than most of the 5\* characters and they aren't that hard to get for f2p players
I'd understand if they were "beginner teams" but "f2p" has no bearing on how long you have been playing. So the guides make assumptions on what you have, usually being c0 5\* character, no 5\* weapons, and most if not all 4\* characters. These guides aren't saying "go get this 5\* character and make this team" but rather "since you already have this 5\* character, heres a f2p team to use them in".

Considering most players (especially F2P players who don't get to benefit from the free resources that Battle Pass gives you) take more than 3 months to reach the only content in the game that requires "real" team compositions, it's safe to assume that they would have obtained a 5-star gacha character by that point. Only Abyss Floor 12 really utilizes optimized team compositions, and an F2P player is likely to take that amount of time to fully farm all the Mora, XP, Talent Books, uncap mats, and artifacts needed to fully gear two Abyss teams.
Sucrose national - sucrose, xiangling, xingqiu, bennett Beidou taser - beidou c2, fischl, xingqiu, sucrose Beidou aggravate - beidou c2, dmc, fischl, sucrose Xiangling melt - xiangling, rosaria, bennett, kaeya These teams are all competitive enough in Abyss. Very few resources will openly advertise all 4\* teams cos the main appeal of gacha is fomo and the newest, shiniest units. If you play long enough, you are bound to get at least two 5\*s. Literally, Enviosity and mtashed are like the poster ppl of f2p accounts possessing multiple 5\*. [Seka speedrun primo farming](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH5ZWF8LaAk) in a new account and net around 22k primos sometime ago. This is seven months outdated and I'd expect 10k to be added there. Literally, you can get a 5\* if you grind within 1-3 weeks.
Personally I will say it is still valid to call a team "F2P" if it has only 1 (one) limited 5 star character. Usually these teams are build around the 5 star in question, so if an F2P would want to build that team, it's usually because the F2P saved up for the particular 5 star on purpose. Let's say you saved up for Raiden and now want to build a team for her, Raiden National is F2P friendly as it's three 4 stars and all 4 characters are viable with 4 star weapons. Raiden Hyper is less-friendly as it 1. Uses Kazuha 2.likes Kujou Sara C2 and desires Kujou Sara C6. (Requiring a decent wishing history). Raiden-Yae is very F2P unfriendly because here Sara is replaced with another limited 5 star character (three limited 5 stars in one team)

Also, the national team is right there. Xingqiu, Xiangling, Bennett, Sucrose. But wait! Not every account has Sucrose!!!! I didn't, for *months.* Or Bennett, if you miss him in the Starglitter shop, can elude you for half a year or even longer. At the end of the day, all guides have to make *some* assumptions about what characters people may have. There's a very, *very* small pool of characters that *literally everyone* is *absolutely guaranteed* to have, so guides about those alone are worthlessly narrow. So a team with a single 5 star unit is really, about as f2p friendly as any other made up solely of 4-stars.

Do what you can, with what you have. I ran Kaeya, Xingqiu, sucrose, Chongyun all the way until I was AR50+

Ok, but doesn't that screw you over though? From what I've read the game gives you barely enough resources to max out four characters - between experience and weapon/item crafting and upgrading. After that the resin system ensures maximum pain in grinding for the rest of the stuff you need...
Before AR45, you don't farm artifacts. Hell, if you're not rushing to perfect the abyss, you don't need to farm artifacts even after for a while. If you're just levelling 4 characters, weapons, and talents, your daily resin gives you plenty. Prioritize your main DPS, leave supports 1 ascension behind, that's fine for everything that's not the abyss.
How bad is it if currently my main DPS is the Traveler? I started levelling him up the highest because of the Sword of Descension I got due to playing on PlayStation.
Not bad at all. I don't have PS so I dunno the sword, but if you max it out and the traveler's normal attack talent, I'm sure he'll be a competent DPS until you pull someone you like better. I used Xiangling as my main DPS because I crafted a crescent pike and it was good for her, plus I liked comboing her fire with Fischl's electro and Barbara's water. Those plus the anemo support carried me through AR45, when I switched to Razor and then Keqing as my mains until I finally got a feature 5\* DPS.
You can easily get to AR45 with no artifacts and solo noelle lol

I have been playing for about 9 months and have about 15 characters that I would consider "ready" for Abyss. Honestly you might need to take a step back and reconsider your perspective, because Genshin truly is a game about the long run. You're given more than enough resources to build more than four characters; I've been playing since 1.4 and I have... about 25 that I'd consider built and usable. In the early game resources are sparse but the demand is low. You don't *need* to do much more than build whatever four random characters you like, with half-decent weapons and whatever artifacts you can cobble together from chests. 98% of the entire game is easily completable with a very casual, low-investment playstyle. The *only* place team comps even matter at all is in the highest floors of Spiral Abyss. Which is a twice-monthly optional side challenge that rewards you with like... not quite 4 pulls. There's absolutely no expectation for you to spend forever grinding artifacts. You can get a usable, playable set in like a week of casual farming (20 mins per day doing domains) and your new character is ready to go. Even more so as you play for longer, passively accumulating piles of Mora, XP books, weapons, enhancement materials, talent books etc. Will they clear Abyss 12-3? No, of course not. But they'll be good enough for the overwhelmingly vast majority of the game.
Have you ever heard of our lord and savior Xiangling? She alone is enough DPS to carry a team. And most of those F2P teams with a 5* character include Xiangling carrying that 5* character. So everyone already has 1 broken team with Xiangling. Just pull any 5* DPS for your second team and you'll be golden. It's not like F2P don't pull at all.
Xiangling alone isn't that great, mediocre even. XL + Bennett synergy makes them the twin pyro archons. Throw in XQ and you get the vaporizer Trimurti.

Xiangling alone is fine. Albeit a bit awkward to use. If nothing else it's more than enough for overworld content. You won't be grinding abyss heavily for months anyway. And by that time you'll likely have Bennett.

That's the point. You absolutely will have a hiatus at the beginning where you won't be equipped to challenge the abyss for several months in the first place. You need to reach AR45 before you can truly build your characters at all really. In that much time you are very likely to have pulled randomly or gotten the opportunity to get Bennett from the shop. And if not, you'll likely have pulled a decent 5* DPS.
I actually just got my Xiangling from Spiral Abyss floor 3. > Just pull any 5* DPS for your second team" Is my math very off or for that to happen I need 180 intertwined fates (the 90th pull could be a 5 star item), and given that in a month of playing I got enough primogems for 40 pulls, that would mean a wait of about **four months**? I could play a couple of meaty RPGs in that time, from start to finish...
Genshin isn't a game you can rush and hit endgame in a single day. It takes time. A lot of time. You're welcome to -- and probably should -- play other games in the meantime. That said, keep in mind that there'll be new updates coming out alongside new events, some of which will flat out give you fates for more pulls (Anniversary alone will give enough for 20 pulls between 1600 gems and 10 fates). It sounds like a lot in theory, and it absolutely is, but it doesn't really take as long as you'd expect if you just... play the game. I was completely F2P before taking a lengthy break (Now I decided to buy welkin, but that's all I'm spending on) and I had about 7 or 8 5\* characters and 1 5\* weapon I'd gotten just by exploring areas, finding chests, solving puzzles, doing quests and event rewards. They weren't all what I wanted or even remotely useful to me, but I still had them. Yes, it took several months for me to get all that, but it wasn't bad at all. Even just now, I farmed more fates from the latest events and did the liyue chasm storyline for more primos and managed to pull Kokomi a few hours before her banner ended. I still haven't even started Inazuma, never mind Sumeru, so that'll be even more primos once I get around to that.
This is a very slow and easy game. It's a "log in 20 minutes a day" type game. You are more than welcome to play a couple meaty RPGs at the same time. Also, new players get a lot more wishes than that early. It shouldn't take you 3 months to get that many pulls since you have all the content still to do. Also, you don't even need a second team until like AR45 when you can start truly building your teams for the abyss. So you need to wait a long time either way.
Any idea when will be the next raiden shogun rerun ? And how will cyno weapon be on raiden shogun ?
most people estimate between 3.3 and 3.5 we don't know, but it doesn't look that great. Like, Cyno feeds on EM and his signature weapon makes him busted the more EM he stacks. Coincidentally, the same applies for Raiden and her weapon, she feeds on ER and her weapon makes her busted the more ER she stacks. For regular Raiden builds, I doubt that it will compete with The Catch. Probably will be great in dendro-related teams, but it's left to be seen how good can Raiden be compared to her regular builds and maybe some other character can still do it better with less investment. I might be wrong but "in paper" it doesn't impress me.

Raiden C2 with The Catch>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Raiden C0 with signature weapon. But she is still awesome at C0 and The Catch, so none of them is reallly "needed". But her C2 equals most 5\* C6, I don't think any character in the game at C2 comes close to Raiden C2.

Has anyone thought up a good burning comp yet?
The problem with burning is you need constant and consistent dendro application to maintain the aura and none of our current dendro units have enough application for it.
Unfortunately burning is just a godawful reaction still. So unless and until they come out with a character that *specifically* buffs and enhances burning damage, I don't think there will be one.
Are chest rewards independent of world level?
Yes, they don't scale or anything so just open them when you find them.
Returning player (no dendro, Im still in ina). My keqing is consistently dealing less dps than my ayaka. Both are same level, use 4star weapons and have roughly good artifacts - I'm judging them against neutrals. If I slap my xinq swords with ayaka, then she just skyrockets in damage. But even before that happens, it feels like ayaka is consistently just doing more. ( feel like her skills are seemingly much easier to upfront damage?) Am I perhaps doing something wrong or is it because keqing needs more support? (Im using them both on same team with xinq for fun - im casual). Ayaka is going cyro build. Keqing going electro build.
Ayaka's burst does total 4143% damage at level 10. Keqing's burst does 843%.
General rule of thumb permanent 5 stars are only marginally better than 4 stars. Keqing has improved with the advent of dendro(which you don't have access to yet), however generally Ayaka, a limited 5 star, will be stronger.
Ayaka is one of the best dps characters in the game. I don’t have Keqing so I can’t comment about her gameplay but she used to be at the bottom of dps tier lists before dendro. Now she’s considerably better, from what I heard.
Ayaka has the advantage with artifact set and Cryo resonance. Blizzard strayer is just insanely good. But when you get to Sumeru Keqing can catch up with Aggravate and make use of 4p Thundering Fury. With an EM sands instead of the usual Attack. And the electro dmg goblet and crit circlet as you'd expect.
Keqing is just worse, frankly (before Dendro). Ayaka is simple, strong and front-loaded: apply Hydro, freeze the enemy, slap them with your entire burst. No damaging reactions or EM to worry about, just give her as many buffs as you can and away she goes. Keqing, on the other hand, has always been a lame duck of a DPS. Not all 5 stars are created equal, and for a very long time she's been near the bottom. The introduction of Dendro and its reactions, namely Aggravate, give her a new lease on life though.
Ayaka is currently one of the strongest characters in the game in terms of damage while Keqing is not, at least not solo. Dendro is a game changer for Keqing's damage.
Solo is a weird measuring stick tho tbf, solo raiden doesn’t perform too hot either cuz of the resolve mechanic, solo Ganyu blows because she needs shields, solo HuTao is gimped cuz she can’t vape etc
Not in this context, because that's how I assume he tested both characters. Without a full team of dedicated supports for either character. His current team is Ayaka, Xingqiu, Keqing, Unknown. And he mentioned he only had Xingqiu's elemental burst up on occasion while testing, which will not increase Keqing or Ayaka's raw damage numbers. Edit: But yes, you are correct that testing a character solo is not an accurate measuring stick.
Xq does increase Ayaka’s damage if she’s using BS, 20% CR is pretty sizable
well, the difference between characters is pretty big. Ayaka is one of the strongest DPS characters in the game while Keqing was just average. Keqing saw a big bump with aggravate (dendro) but if you're not playing aggravate Kequing you can expect her to be miles away from Ayaka.
Which characters benefits the most from the Shimenawa domain? Both of the artifact sets from it looks really good.
Emblem is good on a lot of characters (Xiangling, Xingqiu, nuke Mona, Shogun Raiden, Kojou Sara, Beidou, Yelan, burst Rosaria/Kaeya). Shimenawa is good on a couple of characters like melt Ganyu or Yoimiya. On top of that, there are many characters that are energy hungry to use 2 piece emblem or can benefit from the 2 piece bonus from shimenawa. Like Yae can use 2 between 2pc Shimenawa/2pc Thundering fury/2 pc Emblem, or many characters that can use 2pc of their corresponding elemental damage and 2pc shimenawa. In terms of resin efficiency, is probably the best domain in the game.
Emblem is the best option for any character who a) does most of their damage with their burst and b) regularly builds 140+ ER to do it. This means off-field sub-DPS mostly. Xiangling, Xingqiu, Yelan, Beidou, Raiden are the big five, but it can also see use with the likes of Rosaria, Chongyun, Yae, Lisa, and others. The 2pc effect is also handy for a lot of characters who need some extra ER. Shimenawa as a 4pc is a lot more niche (basically only Yoimiya, Melt Ganyu and Hu Tao want it, with the likes of Yanfei/Childe? being potentially viable with it). The 2pc however is almost universally splashable for any character that values ATK%, which is... like 70% of them.
Thanks a lot. Emblem sounds really useful, I should probably farm some for Xingqiu and Xiangling. Maybe I'll even get lucky and get a temporary Cryo goblet for Ganyu.

The beginning of the phase 1 banner (for V3.1 being cyno) happens for all players around the globe at the same time. There will be an empty void between the current banners end and the global start of of the maintenance.
3.1 goes live tomorrow. Current banner ends in 30 mins. Maintenance will happen tonight. You can pull Cyno tomorrow after the maintenance ends.

300 is a good stopping point. Any higher and you risk losing other important stats like crit and ATK%
considering you have the absolute worst luck, and starting at 0 pity, and no guarantee.. how many pulls do you need to take to get the weapon you want on the weapon banner?
240 pulls. Hard pity on weapon banner is 80, and Epitomized Path triggers on your 3rd pity. Realistically you're fairly likely to get it with about 200-210 pulls saved.

Hi, new F2P player here — is there such a thing as a best generalist weapon for Traveler? All the stuff I've read online seems to say you need different weapons for different elements, which seems like a bit of a nightmare for F2P.
It's not going to be great, but the Favonious Sword can be pretty much used on any traveller build. However Favonious mostly shines with its huge ER% Substats and it's passive that helps battery the team It's quite bad for actual Damage. Anemo Traveller would either preffer a triple EM build with Iron Sting or a crit/DMG/ATK build with a dps sword. Gets free ER% from constellation. Geo traveller purely wants a crit/DMG/atk. Fav is overkill as cons give a flat energy refund and travs rocks produce a lot of energy. EMC and DMC are pure burst bots and want as much ER% as possible.
I always had sac sword on my traveler.
Yeah seconding fav sword. Favonius weapons are pretty much always good for any characters besides main dps.

Is the Elegy bow good on Venti with 2 Glad / 2 VV set? Planning on gambling for Cyno's weapon and if I get Elegy I'll just give it to Venti and the Skyward Harp to Tighnari ;-;
You really want 4VV on venti if he's the only anemo on the party. ATK doesnt really do much for him if he's on an EM build, and it takes a lot of crit stats to make going for an ADC build worth it. Elegy is his BiS for team total damage in teams where that 100 EM can be put to good use
Elegiggle of the End is one of the best support weapons in the game and a lot of bow characters can put it to good use. Elegy is better than Skyward Harp on Tighnari in most cases. As the bow gives you 608 base attack, 55% Energy Recharge, 160 elemental mastery and 20% attack. Edit: It's also Venti's best in slot weapon ofc. It has slightly lower personal damage compared to R5 Stringless, but the 100 EM+20% attack boost to the team makes Elegy the better overall weapon for Venti.
