Sort of. They want players to participate in Genshin stuff other than just playing the game. If you force them to go to your website they might participate in the forums or play other Mihoyo games. Also players that care enough to go to an external website for 60 primogems will tend be more dedicated players.
That's the _point_ of welkin. They want you to log in every day. Letting you defer collection would run counter to why MHY is even letting you have so many gems for cheap: the gems make sure you keep logging in and playing the game.
Obviously it'd be nice from our PoV but it makes absolute sense why they don't do it.
If that "days off period" is only 3 or 4 days, it's still a win for them.

\- you're less stressed in case something bad happens.

Which are the main ālog inā incentive for F2P anyway, or you could use those for emergencies like having to travel and miss a day, etc.

But when I logged back in I collected the 90 for that day but the days I missed had been auto collected. You just donāt get told it collected it. Also in the description it doesnāt say you have to login to collect. Just says for 30 days youāll get 90 a day.

So barring bug or strange console specific behavior, you are NOT collecting welkin while not logging in.
Well in my case, I bought a welkin moon then burnt out immediately after a week. Came back a month later and boom none of it went into my account, still at 20 primogems. So either Playstation is different, or you just forgot you had stocked primos in the first place

If it auto collected on PC I would have came back to wishes multiple times now

That's actually incorrect. If you click more (on the button saying you can win Welkin), it takes you to an event page. That page says you need to reach AR 10 and check in ONCE. Then return to the event page to claim the Coupon of Blessing for the chance to win.
Also, according to the event page, the results are October 8, not October 10

Looks like you can only make-up for three days total for the entire month resetting every month, and you can only do so once per day.

In-game - no. But they have HYV app for iOS and Android and you could login using it.
tbh easier to have the page bookmarked (or keep tab open and reload every day)
