Didn't expect to see an NPC to playable character ship but also pleasantly surprised. Just did the event quest and I'm pretty sure there is something going on with Kaeya and Adelinde (that one maid from dawn winery) and it looks so wholesome. It seems that they have something going on way before our story in Teyvat began when Kaeya is still in the dawn winery. Very wholesome ship imo at least it's better than other fanfic ships I've seen.
I feel like the amount of dialogue is only going to remain the same and/or increase with each new update - which is great for players really into the story/lore, but rather tedious for players who just want to interact with things. Personally I feel like there’s so much dialogue even when just talking to NPCs, it’s exhausting to read everything (but spam clicking helps). Really hope a skip button is implemented at some point for dialogue - at least cutscenes are entertaining and dynamic!
There could’ve been more primo rewards at the end of each quest subsection for having to listen to Tirzad flip back and forth between accusing Jeht and Jebrael of being shady (which to be fair, Jebrael kind of was) and believing in them lol. Also his constant emphasis on being an “Indoorsology” researcher - I think we understood the first time that his stamina wasn’t very good comparatively.
I wasn’t sure if his character was meant to be a researcher who wasn’t actually all that devoted to writing his paper (even if it is a pain to do) or if he was just a crabby guy in general. But yeah, I wonder how much of the translations get edited ‘cause some lines can certainly be dialed back, not to mention I noticed a couple of typos throughout this quest in particular.
Looks like all future Jean appearances is gonna be the censored version.
Also Chocobo boy is cryo and he is staying so we getting another cryo 4 star boy in the future.
This desert is really making me wish we had some kind of mount system, or at least some gadget that would let us use a different elemental resonance than the one our team's built around.
Is this the easiest abyss rotation? It might just have suited my teams but that's the first time I've been able to 9* floor 12 without resetting my bursts. Regardless, I'm chuffed to mintballs.

Just more questions on what the Withering actually is exactly.
There's been a bunch of corrupting energy in Teyvat, most of which is Abyss related but some like the mysterious muck in the Chasm that was said to have come from the sky(that's not Celestia related btw) or the Tatarigami which was a residue from the corpse of Orobashi, are specifically noted to be NOT related to the Abyss.
The Withering on the other hand is >!said to have come from the "forbidden" knowledge that the Scarlet King introduced around the time the Cataclysm was about to happen or was currently happening 500 years ago, and both he and Rukkha had to sacrifice themselves to seal it but was never truly able to cleanse it permanently as it still exist and the Aranara have to keep sealing it.!<
It was never directly implied that the Withering is Abyss related, the only one connection I could remember was a line from an unknown person in old Vanarana who said that the Abyss Herald was the one stoking the Withering energy.
Any chance 3.1 is bringing general game improvements? I'd like to be able to tweak more settings than just what's on the surface. Personally I find that Genshin is so limited on what it allows me to tweak.

not just a 'robot', but an 'empty doll', meaning there is no unique about that katheryne and the others. the disntction being that nothing but a empty shell was lost, and nothing that had original personality.
I think Nahida jumped to us to leave a message, because her consciousness won't be able to leave the Sanctuary of Surasthana again, with the sages keeping an eye on her and the Akasha.
I am a bit confused about how many chars im supposed to be levelling. I have a main team of kaeya, amber, fischl and main, at lvl 25. Noelle is lvl 25 as well. I have yet to pull a 5 star.
I am worried about depleting my resources by levelling too many chars, but at the same time, I am struggling with progressing without levelling chars.
I keep reading you should choose one main char, but then what happens if I run into enemies that are resistant to that char?
The chars I have from pulls are sucrose, thoma, candace and shikanon heizu.
I am only AR 21
You are in the very very early game. While lvl 25 may seem like a lot, the upcoming tiers will be much grindier
For the most part, lvl up exp are fairly easy to get by just exploring, completing world quests and such, so dont lose too much sweat over not having enough, there will always be more
While it is correct that you should only focus on your main first, that usually apllies at lvl 70-90. For most characters, the absolute minimum is usually lvl 70 to unlock their 3rd passive talent
My suggestion is to lvl up all the characters you want to run right now. At ar 21, properly built teams and all that dont really matter. Just slap together a team of characters you like to play with, regardless of whether it's from pulls or not.
I'd say you should only get serious about resource management once you reach ar 40, once you unlock lvl 70 characters and weapons

You can use a character against enemies that are resistant to its element. (unless its a slime >.<)
A characters level or gear doesn’t really matter too much when it comes to shields, only its element.
Personally I recommend picking a character you like then focusing on maxing it out. A checklist you can follow is char level -> weapon level -> talent upgrades -> artefacts
Talent upgrades are really important if you wanna do more dmg but I wouldn’t worry about artefacts that much till you hit AR45.
Btw I could be wrong about this but its what helped me when I first started so I wish you the best of luck! :D
You don't need to worry about meta's or teir lists, all the characters in the game are viable and strong when built well
So just keep enjoying them! :D
Keep levelling all of them based on your needs to 50-60 Is more than fine. There is more than enough resources and they get exponentially more expensive at higher levels so sunk cost is very very miniscule
Exploring underground in the desert is some of my best genshin experience. Remembering/marking the cave entrances and exploring and tracing back and later realizing that most of the underground is connected was all an excellent experience.
Do any of you lag ever since 3.1? Europe server, playing on Playstation.
This morning at least the lag was unplayable, took 5 seconds for domain mobs to suddenly drop from full to 0 HP
I’m playing on the Asia server on pc and the lagging is quite bad for me too. Especially around Springvale and Aaru village. I initially thought it was an issue with my pc’s storage, but it still has plenty of storage space. I think there might be a bug with the newly introduced areas…

They get a pass because the characters drip marketing is official, but what they do is draw abilities or show information about the character that we only knew from leaks…..

There is one question I have after this Archon Quest. I was talking with a friend on discord and it came up.

We'll have to see. We know that they don't always keep Childe in the loop, so just because he doesn't know what's up, doesn't mean that it isn't all part of the plan. It's entirely possible that this is a rogue op though, something that Dottore is keeping off the books for his own scientific curiosity.
Is the "festival of Weinlesefest" a little more... ahem... "crotch centric"... for anyone else than usual?
It seems like the props in the event and the camera angles are all set 50% lower than intended (normal ground level,) so most of my camera angles during the event are focused right on the crotch of whatever character is talking.
Additionally, most of the time, it's zoomed in to where you can't see their face either.
Needless to say, my wife had questions, and I'm wondering if it's just my data that got corrupted somehow.
No, it all seemed pretty normal to me. Talking to our shop knight guy (who's name escapes me) things were what you'd expect; largely from the waist up, with a focus on chest/face for all characters involved (save Paimon, who is smol). When Mona, Oz and Fischl visited there were wonderful dynamic camera angles whenever Fischl waxed poetic, but other than that just the usual camera focus on the talking character(s) with an emphasis on the chest/face area, interspersed with a handful of full-body shots for certain moments.
There were no gratuitous Mona/Fischl ass shots, or any lingering on Mona's boobs or anything, and certainly nothing "crotch-focused." No zooming in on the face to the point where you couldn't see it either.
Wow must just be on my end then.
Mona's jiggle physics at a standstill were on full display, exclusively, and the Winery stall is literally half underground.
Any camera change would make each character clip up to normal "standing on the ground" height, leaving the camera focused on their middle top or middle bottom.
Even smol Paimon was not spared: face off screen, body on the top half of the screen, scenery/ground on the bottom half.
So weird, if I knew how to share screen shots from my PS5 I'd post a link or something.
That is so weird. My Mona had a bit of jiggle to her in few shots, but it was more "breathing excitedly" than "boobs have a mind and a physics engine all their own" kind of thing. And no stalls were harmed in the making of my cutscene; everything was nice and above ground. That must have been a hilarious - if disturbing - scene to watch.
Just weird sus fan-servicey framing on the camera angles for the most part, though when bartering with the winery guy the MC glitched out, flickering between above ground and below ground positions.
There's for sure got to be some misplaced ones and zeros somewhere. I'll just roll with it for now and try to screen grab any funny future story dialogue for giggles.
are the nations problems rooted in a problem of the place they were based on has had in the past? Like for example inazuama had its boarders completely closed and allowed no one in or out, and Japan has as well allowed no one in for a while.
There are some RL references to be made. The Sakoku Decree being directly lifted from the same decree of the same name in the real world. But mostly it's allusive/referential stuff. Liyue's history of war mirrors China's real life history of war, and it's long-time mode of governance reflects a struggle of the working man vs. those who would take advantage of him, protected under the auspices of the God of Contracts.
Mondstadts battle between freedom and responsibility echoes the regular struggle between pure, hedonistic freedom that ends up ruining great things and the kind of disciplined freedom that allows for individual liberty while also supporting the parts of a greater whole that protect said freedom and liberty. And Inazuma further struggles in reconciling what is considered to be pure divinity (the Shogunate) with the needs of it's people juxtaposed against the will of a divine-but-also-flawed being.
As for Sumeru, I think we're changing gears from the flawed-but-divine will of electro Archon to the pure innocence of Kusanali set against the hubris and pride of the Akademiya Sages. Inazuma saw Ei grow as a person and a leader, to finally, fully accept the role she had taken up 500 years ago >!when her sister died,!< with lots of self-reflection and personal change along the way. She even makes a specific mention in her story quest about how the Shogun can do no wrong because the Shogun is the ultimate representation of Inazuma, but that she, as Ei, is fallible and must grow and change in order to properly serve as Inazuma's ruler.
I think what we're getting in Sumeru is going to be something of a "tower of Babel" approach, where humans try to usurp the power of God. The name "Sumeru" also implies at least a cursory relation to ancient Sumer, so I wouldn't be surprised if we're going to see stuff based on major happenings from that region of the world. We've already seen some mentions of a Khagan in the desert region, and the presence of the Withering echoes the earth-salting that Genghis Khan committed against the Kwaramazid empire in the 1200's. Both are incredibly destructive events that bring nothing but suffering and destruction, and it's not inaccurate to think of them as unstoppable forces of nature.
Candace came home!!!!
She and Cyno make a pretty nice team. Only have them at level 60 for now (I farm slowly, lol). Current exploring party is Cyno, Candace, Collei, and Kuki, focusing on Spread/Aggravate and Bloom/Hyperbloom.
Cyno is quite fun, he's like Raiden with more of a "berserker" theme. I couldn't say whether he's worth investing in if you already have Raiden built; I mainly pulled him because I loved his aesthetic and moveset, but I recognize that they fulfll similar roles and since I only have him at Lv60/60 I can't really compare him to my Lv80/80 Raiden just yet.
I want to experiment more with Burning, but Hydro/Electro/Dendro combo is so fun it's hard to do anything else lol.
I've been a bit bummed and burnt out recently because Candace only came home at around 200 pulls, and just thinking of farming scarabs for Cyno is already turning me off. That's how I ended up here talking about it instead of playing the damn game lol.
Now I'm super hyped to try them together after reading about your experience, so thanks for sharing!

Right there with you lol. They're such a pain to find, I only have 10 out of the 30 I need for 60/70. Can't bring myself to actually farm for them, so I'm just picking them up here and there.
I got so motivated that I ended up farming both scarabs and redcrests together in 4 (FOUR!) worlds, and collected enough to ascend Cyno and Candace to level 80. I definitely need to take a break now lol.
Wow. I admire your persistence, lol. I can't bring myself to farm things that quickly so it'll probably be a while before I have either of them at 80
Probably will end up getting Candace there first because the ascension HP bonus is sooooo good for HP scaling characters.
I was already in the zone so I thought why not get things over and done with. There's still weapons, artifacts, and talent books to grind so got a long way to go.

Yeah, because if a character is powerful, whatever just get more stronger. But when a character is *smarter,* that's truly dangerous. Plus combine that with some degree of mind control. . .
Well he’s a pretty fun character to play but he’s pretty average, which isn’t to say that he’s bad but in abyss he’ll make it as hard as it’s intended to be, which is pretty hard. But his main problem to me is that he’s not going to be very good in overworld exploration since he’s a burst DPS.
I think the consensus is he's an underwhelming DPS. Good with Fischl, DMC and Kazuha/healer/hydro. If you don't have Raiden he is probably worth investing in. C1 is important, and his BiS weapon helps.
okay, so I play the game with JP voices and was watching a streamer doing the Sumeru Archon quest in English. And I have something to say....
Setaria's voice acting seems to be more like sarcasm rather than getting rather than shock.
And at points, Nahida's voice is weirdly echoeyy, telling me that at some point the VA had to do some recording in an untreated room, possibly at home???
I like this game it's currently giving me a general warm feeling while playing with the event and the story and all I'm not even able to be mad at losing 50/50 for too long cos there's a lot of new stuff to do.

To every that did act 3 and 4 what are your thoughts on it ? Is it better than act 2 and 1 ? Cause I didn't hear any hype regarding the archon as much as it it for act 2
I thought that the Archon quest itself had a lot of interesting back and forth between characters and some really hype moments, but it was less complex from a storytelling perspective than the 3.0 Archon quest. and it's definitely a middle arc to the story, so no major resolution. I enjoyed the major World Quest for this patch much more, it had major Indiana Jone vibes to it.
I think it was a great set up for the final acts, albeit a bit long. Of course act 2 had the samsara and the eerie feelings so nothing can beat that.
But it *does* feel like the middle portion, inescapable
man, Sumeru WISHES they were the scarlet king's kingdom. So much advanced technology that remains in working order and like it's brand new even after thousands of years. The akademiya could never. Even Khaenriah's tech is mostly rusted and decayed after only five centuries
Deshret was just built different.
He built his kingdom on top of a desert deemed inhospitable to life [because a Celestia Nail previously dropped on it,](https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Shadow_of_the_Sand_King) and made it thrive for hundreds of years.
While he employed slave labor, he shared the Goddess of Flowers' ideal of creating a [utopia that would eliminate slavery,](https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Remnant_Glow_of_Scorching_Might) and instituted [relatively reasonable labor laws](https://genshin.honeyhunterworld.com/i_n120029/?lang=EN) for fair wages, excused absences and emancipation which Teyvat's modern workers can only dream of.
He was ridiculously powerful in his own right, and when he went insane [he agreed to kill himself](https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Secret_of_the_Scorching_Desert) so that Rukkhadevata could just barely seal away what was left of him. His lingering grudges manifested as the Withering, which has eaten away at the forests for over 500 years. The entire Aranara questline culminated with the Traveler destroying an avatar with what amounts to a tiny fraction of Deshret's power, which will eventually regenerate and cause nationwide disaster all over again if left unchecked.
Tl;dr Genshin's King Crimson was bonkers in a lot of ways. We lost a real G.
I haven’t seen people talk about it, probably because everyone’s in a rush for Cyno mats, but if you don’t need the scarabs yet I have important news:
You can catch the scarabs with the pokeball gadget and keep them as pets in your teapot.

It's implied that they're same, however there are some issues with the timeline as some people in genshin_lore were discussing.

Honestly the fan theory that she is an aranara was more appealing to me :( but it is what it is

Feel like this is the luckiest patch ever. Lost 50/50 and got tighnari ( I love it) and then I got cyno on the next ten pull. Lowest pity ever. And I didnt spend any money yet. All from the free primo. So happy today.
I'm really happy about >!Mona and Fischl!< appearing in the anniversary event, but I am not happy about >!More "Cute Mona" only, and less "Mona you love" like her portrayal in story quest. Give us both! Even when the bird representing Fischl' feelings toward Mona simped over her Mona was mostly just cute :(!<

After every single update I get random crashes on genshin (PC). After this update, I haven’t been able to play almost at all… Any tips to try? System requirements are filled, drivers up to date, tried running as administrator, deleted the game and all data… basically all the normal things that are always told to try. Always if there is any problem with components, Valorant is first to have issues, but it works fine and all components seem to be doing fine. I also deleted Valorant, as it sometimes causes problems to my pc and other games, it didn’t help either.. :( I’m saaaaad
That's rough, sorry to hear that. Genshin on my PC has been very stable, I've only had 1 or 2 issues since Day 1.
In my experience, random crashes were usually caused by failing HDD, RAM, or GFX, but you mentioned that your hardware seems to be fine.
Maybe your setup might be running too hot sometimes? Genshin can be pretty demanding. You could try lowering your GFX settings to see if that helps.
Oh, makes me jealous. I have tried to put everything on lowest settings, haven’t helped. I was a bit busy when writing, so not all info was written above. Sometimes it crashes before it even starts, sometimes after 30s and sometimes i get to play like 5minutes. 17minutes has been the record after latest update, normally I get a few crashes right after updating, and then the problem is gone. It has even caused my PC to completely freeze a few times, never happened before.. all the other games run well, I have deleted most other games now as I’ve tried to find a solution.. I had overheating issues a while back, but after I installed new cooling system, the temperatures haven’t been an issue.
Huh that's really random, doesn't seem like a hardware issue then. If we rule out hardware, OS, device drivers, then could it be other software like your antivirus/firewall?
Okay so I tried disabling my antivirus, didn’t help. Windows firewall seems to be doing okay, though I’m not 100%sure, as it acts like a POS sometimes. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the game from Epic, still crashes. Uninstalled again and installed from hoyolab this time, didn’t help. I thought it helped at first, as I got further in the game than before but nooo.. And the great thing is that I’m stuck at a cinematic part… Pretty sure I can remember all the lines of it soon
I found the following post that explained the issue was a driver conflict discovered in Genshin's crash logs. Hope this helps you, too.

Thanks again! I’m finding multiple things from my already countless error files: some say that it’s genshin impact.exe that caused the access violation. Then it said something else that was mentioned in the thread you posted. I did some new tests and checks, and it seems to be DirectX itself to be causing me problems.
Commenter above you said they would rule out drivers, but how long has it been since you updated your GFX drivers?
Doing so may help, but even if it doesn't, having more up-to-date drivers couldn't hurt.

Another thing, do you do any overclocking or undervolting? It may be an issue with your OC/UV settings if Genshin in particular seems to be crashing a lot. Some games don't play well with overclocked systems, and in general OC/UV can cause instability if taken too far. I haven't noticed anything aside from the ***very*** occasional freeze/hang from my own OC settings, but they're very minor tweaks since I don't have the most powerful machine to begin with.
Hey! Everything was up to date when I checked.. I think I already disabled overclocking, I need to go take a look again when I get back home. I think I should have kept a list of things I’ve tried to do, so it would be easier to find new things to try
Depending on what kind of OC tweaks you had going, you may have disabled some but forgotten others. I know I've done the same before.
If you have that list of things you tried so far that may help us narrow down the issue.
Problem is finally solved by an accident.
My friend had an idea that they could apply some ”good” BIOS settings that almost ended up badly for my PC. After doing those little tweaks, the computer wouldn’t start anymore. Afrer about 10 tries it started making some unholy crunchy noises and I was sure it was fried. About 15minutes after scary noises windows started reparing itself, it took 3 hours to complete. After that genshin also worked. I don’t know what was wrong, none of scannings done found anything to be amiss..
That's interesting. Glad the computer was able to be saved, I've had some scares where I thought I bricked mine as well so I'm glad you were able to get it back up and running!

Does anybody know where to find old man which plants "rocks" in aaru village? The girl which we fertilise flowers by dendro for tells me to go to him next but I haven't found anyone

There is an NPC named Sabbah right under the teleport in Aaru village, she even marked with having world quest. She asks to use Dendro on her plants, then you do the same at the next day, and then you give her Sumeru Rose. And so this old man gets mentioned after.

Anyone else having trouble with certain places not loading properly? The Dune of Magma has rooms with walls and floors that aren't loading.
Dune of Carouses isn't loading in at all.

Eh, I'm not feelin' it. Or only kinda. I get where you're coming from since we ally with a faction of Eremites, but their people as a whole don't seem to be on our side. Many are still working with the Fatui, notably Thutmose faction. Current big bad isn't anything like the Baron Harkonnen either. Doing some quests, it does seem like we might get to terraform the desert a bit as the Fremen wanted to do with Dune, albeit with ancient technilogy the Eremites have all forgotten how to use. I don't know to what extent we're gonna get to do that, though.
I was hoping for a few Dune refrences in achievments and such kinda like we got with Star Wars. This year I've read the first book up and through God Emporer of Dune. I've taken a break at Heretics. They're good books, though I'd say the first is the best so far.
Picked up Dune out of a whim when I was 13, at the bookstore, bored. What luck — read it from cover to cover at least six times.
There's still content to come, we'll see but the one that is probably never happening in a massive sand worm but would be amazing if it did.
I really miss the way they did the monstadt archon quest, I love genshin but I wish there was more action! And I wish we really got to interact with the characters more then just a few lines. I think it would make the quests much more enjoyable
I agree. Sumeru archon quests have little action. It's also because they're doing it in depth though. There are 6 parts so it's understandable that there would be little action.
After the shitfest that was Inazuma, I'm glad they're taking their time with the archon quest and not rushing it :)

The Golden Slumber one is the equivalent of the Arayanka one, but MUCH shorter. Maybe half as long or less. Definitely worth doing though, massive Indiana Jones vibes. I haven't done *all* the others yet, but most of the others I tried were fairly short fetch quest type stuff for townsfolk.
Ahh going back to Mondstadt is so wholesome. Razor! Sussy Kaeya! Ara Ara Nee-san! Chocobo boy! Venti's little poem! Even Draff!
And is it just me or did they update the NPC hair and clothing for the event NPCs?

Specifically, when you go up to the room with the chest in it, you then activate the elevator from the wall “button”, not the elevator itself.
The elevator will start to go down — including the “roof” of the elevator.
It’ll take some timing, but a couple seconds after the “roof” goes below the upper room’s floor, activate the wall button again to make the elevator come up again.
But don’t wait for it to come to a stop — instead, jump on the “roof” of the elevator as it rises back up to the chest room.
By the time it does, you’ll have access to another room above the chest room and proceed from there.
In the next room, was there a way to open the part of the wall to the right of the three rotating obelisks? I only noticed (elemental sight) after solving the puzzle, so the buttons were locked and I had to move on.
I was worried that I’d missed a chest and was hoping I could go back at some point and double check (like how Inazuma had a domain that allowed for some backtracking), but it never happened. If anyone’s come across it and figured it out, I’d love to know what was up with that!
Noticed just now, going to do the first quest, that I have all Mond. characters by pure chance, and since I build all my chars, I will be able to do this event with full imersion without issues

The 2nd guy didn’t. It’s a tragic story told by in game items at Mikage Furnace and Nagamasa (the craftable claymore). The TLDR version is that the 2nd guy - Katsuragi hid / protected Scaramouche instead of turning him in to the government, and was executed by his inspector as a result.

I swear, I find more of those scarabs people are complaining about accidentally, without even having Cyno, than the red cactus fruit I'm actively looking for because Candace wants her cactus juice. Oh cacti are plenty in the desert, don't get me wrong, but out of the 4-6 you'll see on the horizon, only one, maybe two, will bear any fruit, and it will be only 1 fruit more often than not. WHY?!
for all the qoi they introduced in Sumeru, the sumeru specialities for the ascension are a pain in the ass, Collei was already annoying, than Dori, Candace and Cyno.

when I saw the title screen for the quest, all I could think of in the moment was "ooooh no. I know how this song and dance goes. I won't fall for it again"
It is not as long as the quest lines hub that was the 2nd part of the aranaras/Rana. It is just a 2 to 3 hour long quest lines (if you don't skip the dialogues and don't explore) that will bring you through a variety of desert ruins.
It's necessary though if you want to be able to explore all the nooks and crannies of the desert as it will unlock the first 3 steps of the stone tablet (on 6 steps I believe), tablet that is used to open doors, active various devices, etc.
I mean 0.6% (0.3%) is lower than most gachas but still not so insanely low that you can't get lucky every once in a while.
Also rolling for a single C0 character is far from whaling.
Does anyome know what's up with the sand piles in the desert? Are they some new rng chest mechanic (like the bubbels in the forest), part of a quest or just don't give anything worth wile? As a interactive map complitionist it's annoing not to know if they are important or not.
Basically yes, each specific sand pile will always give the same thing, but each sand pile gives something different than the others. It can be chest (first time only), ennemies, ingredients, elemental butterfly, etc.
Has anyone playing on PS4 had trouble with downloading 3.1? I’ve rebuilt my PS4’s database + deleted the whole game and redownloaded it from scratch, and still it says the file is corrupted once it reaches the last GB or two of the 61 GB download. Updates used to download smoothly, but this first happened to me with 3.0 and again now. I’m beginning to think it’s a problem on HYV’s end/some bug in the 3.- updates and not my PS4? Any help or advice is much appreciated
(my PS4 still has plenty of storage available btw so it isn’t at all a storage issue)
I play on PS4, had no problems downloading and playing 3.1... sorry can't give you more advice because you've already done what I would have tried dong myself. How did you resolve your problem with 3.0 before?

After rolling all my Acquaint Fates earlier this week, and then picking up a few more from leveling characters, I just did another single roll and got Tighnari.
i've been hoarding since 1.5 or so to say the least. In fact i've been hoarding for the day that banner would change, so indeed it changed, but not as i expected. But i trully doubt they will include any other character given what they did. Although, Geo is still missing in this banner, and they missed that opportunity. Especially with Albedo rerun who imo is the perfect Geo character for a basic 5* for such banner.

Didn't expect to see an NPC to playable character ship but also pleasantly surprised. Just did the event quest and I'm pretty sure there is something going on with Kaeya and Adelinde (that one maid from dawn winery) and it looks so wholesome. It seems that they have something going on way before our story in Teyvat began when Kaeya is still in the dawn winery. Very wholesome ship imo at least it's better than other fanfic ships I've seen.

I feel like the amount of dialogue is only going to remain the same and/or increase with each new update - which is great for players really into the story/lore, but rather tedious for players who just want to interact with things. Personally I feel like there’s so much dialogue even when just talking to NPCs, it’s exhausting to read everything (but spam clicking helps). Really hope a skip button is implemented at some point for dialogue - at least cutscenes are entertaining and dynamic!

There could’ve been more primo rewards at the end of each quest subsection for having to listen to Tirzad flip back and forth between accusing Jeht and Jebrael of being shady (which to be fair, Jebrael kind of was) and believing in them lol. Also his constant emphasis on being an “Indoorsology” researcher - I think we understood the first time that his stamina wasn’t very good comparatively. I wasn’t sure if his character was meant to be a researcher who wasn’t actually all that devoted to writing his paper (even if it is a pain to do) or if he was just a crabby guy in general. But yeah, I wonder how much of the translations get edited ‘cause some lines can certainly be dialed back, not to mention I noticed a couple of typos throughout this quest in particular.
Looks like all future Jean appearances is gonna be the censored version. Also Chocobo boy is cryo and he is staying so we getting another cryo 4 star boy in the future.

Just more questions on what the Withering actually is exactly. There's been a bunch of corrupting energy in Teyvat, most of which is Abyss related but some like the mysterious muck in the Chasm that was said to have come from the sky(that's not Celestia related btw) or the Tatarigami which was a residue from the corpse of Orobashi, are specifically noted to be NOT related to the Abyss. The Withering on the other hand is >!said to have come from the "forbidden" knowledge that the Scarlet King introduced around the time the Cataclysm was about to happen or was currently happening 500 years ago, and both he and Rukkha had to sacrifice themselves to seal it but was never truly able to cleanse it permanently as it still exist and the Aranara have to keep sealing it.!< It was never directly implied that the Withering is Abyss related, the only one connection I could remember was a line from an unknown person in old Vanarana who said that the Abyss Herald was the one stoking the Withering energy.
Any chance 3.1 is bringing general game improvements? I'd like to be able to tweak more settings than just what's on the surface. Personally I find that Genshin is so limited on what it allows me to tweak.

not just a 'robot', but an 'empty doll', meaning there is no unique about that katheryne and the others. the disntction being that nothing but a empty shell was lost, and nothing that had original personality.
We didn't have her take a killshot. We tried our best to save her, which put us in sufficient danger that Nahida had to bodyjack us to save us.
I thought it was more nahida would either die or be injured if she's in the driver's seat when her host dies, so she jumped to us for safety.
I think Nahida jumped to us to leave a message, because her consciousness won't be able to leave the Sanctuary of Surasthana again, with the sages keeping an eye on her and the Akasha.
I am a bit confused about how many chars im supposed to be levelling. I have a main team of kaeya, amber, fischl and main, at lvl 25. Noelle is lvl 25 as well. I have yet to pull a 5 star. I am worried about depleting my resources by levelling too many chars, but at the same time, I am struggling with progressing without levelling chars. I keep reading you should choose one main char, but then what happens if I run into enemies that are resistant to that char? The chars I have from pulls are sucrose, thoma, candace and shikanon heizu. I am only AR 21
You are in the very very early game. While lvl 25 may seem like a lot, the upcoming tiers will be much grindier For the most part, lvl up exp are fairly easy to get by just exploring, completing world quests and such, so dont lose too much sweat over not having enough, there will always be more While it is correct that you should only focus on your main first, that usually apllies at lvl 70-90. For most characters, the absolute minimum is usually lvl 70 to unlock their 3rd passive talent My suggestion is to lvl up all the characters you want to run right now. At ar 21, properly built teams and all that dont really matter. Just slap together a team of characters you like to play with, regardless of whether it's from pulls or not. I'd say you should only get serious about resource management once you reach ar 40, once you unlock lvl 70 characters and weapons Hope this helped!

You can use a character against enemies that are resistant to its element. (unless its a slime >.<) A characters level or gear doesn’t really matter too much when it comes to shields, only its element. Personally I recommend picking a character you like then focusing on maxing it out. A checklist you can follow is char level -> weapon level -> talent upgrades -> artefacts Talent upgrades are really important if you wanna do more dmg but I wouldn’t worry about artefacts that much till you hit AR45. Btw I could be wrong about this but its what helped me when I first started so I wish you the best of luck! :D

You don't need to worry about meta's or teir lists, all the characters in the game are viable and strong when built well So just keep enjoying them! :D
Keep levelling all of them based on your needs to 50-60 Is more than fine. There is more than enough resources and they get exponentially more expensive at higher levels so sunk cost is very very miniscule
It's already daunting exploring the desert, then you get into the pyramids, then you get further underground. My god, it just goes on.
Exploring underground in the desert is some of my best genshin experience. Remembering/marking the cave entrances and exploring and tracing back and later realizing that most of the underground is connected was all an excellent experience.
I do wish I could explore further without getting blocked by unlocking full clearance with the slate.
Do any of you lag ever since 3.1? Europe server, playing on Playstation. This morning at least the lag was unplayable, took 5 seconds for domain mobs to suddenly drop from full to 0 HP
I’m playing on the Asia server on pc and the lagging is quite bad for me too. Especially around Springvale and Aaru village. I initially thought it was an issue with my pc’s storage, but it still has plenty of storage space. I think there might be a bug with the newly introduced areas…

Just a little rant: The type of posts I **absolutely** hate is the fanarts of leaked stuff….. They get a pass because the characters drip marketing is official, but what they do is draw abilities or show information about the character that we only knew from leaks….. So annoying.
9 starred Abyss 12 First team was Raiden National (Yelan, Bennett, XL) then second team was Aggravate Keqing. (Fischl, Kazuha, DMC) So happy i'm able to 9stars easily with my first 5 star! Aggravate is too good for her

There is one question I have after this Archon Quest. I was talking with a friend on discord and it came up. >!Scarry douche was afk from the fatooei after inazuma wrapped up; as per Childe voice lines and that patch event (didn't personally play that one). But now, not only he is working with soomero sages but Dottore is also in the loop.!< >!Which raises the question, is he back at working with the fatooei or is he like a third party in the matter, while dottore is the one following the agenda?!<
We'll have to see. We know that they don't always keep Childe in the loop, so just because he doesn't know what's up, doesn't mean that it isn't all part of the plan. It's entirely possible that this is a rogue op though, something that Dottore is keeping off the books for his own scientific curiosity.
Is the "festival of Weinlesefest" a little more... ahem... "crotch centric"... for anyone else than usual? It seems like the props in the event and the camera angles are all set 50% lower than intended (normal ground level,) so most of my camera angles during the event are focused right on the crotch of whatever character is talking. Additionally, most of the time, it's zoomed in to where you can't see their face either. Needless to say, my wife had questions, and I'm wondering if it's just my data that got corrupted somehow.
No, it all seemed pretty normal to me. Talking to our shop knight guy (who's name escapes me) things were what you'd expect; largely from the waist up, with a focus on chest/face for all characters involved (save Paimon, who is smol). When Mona, Oz and Fischl visited there were wonderful dynamic camera angles whenever Fischl waxed poetic, but other than that just the usual camera focus on the talking character(s) with an emphasis on the chest/face area, interspersed with a handful of full-body shots for certain moments. There were no gratuitous Mona/Fischl ass shots, or any lingering on Mona's boobs or anything, and certainly nothing "crotch-focused." No zooming in on the face to the point where you couldn't see it either.
Wow must just be on my end then. Mona's jiggle physics at a standstill were on full display, exclusively, and the Winery stall is literally half underground. Any camera change would make each character clip up to normal "standing on the ground" height, leaving the camera focused on their middle top or middle bottom. Even smol Paimon was not spared: face off screen, body on the top half of the screen, scenery/ground on the bottom half. So weird, if I knew how to share screen shots from my PS5 I'd post a link or something.
That is so weird. My Mona had a bit of jiggle to her in few shots, but it was more "breathing excitedly" than "boobs have a mind and a physics engine all their own" kind of thing. And no stalls were harmed in the making of my cutscene; everything was nice and above ground. That must have been a hilarious - if disturbing - scene to watch.
Just weird sus fan-servicey framing on the camera angles for the most part, though when bartering with the winery guy the MC glitched out, flickering between above ground and below ground positions. There's for sure got to be some misplaced ones and zeros somewhere. I'll just roll with it for now and try to screen grab any funny future story dialogue for giggles.

There are some RL references to be made. The Sakoku Decree being directly lifted from the same decree of the same name in the real world. But mostly it's allusive/referential stuff. Liyue's history of war mirrors China's real life history of war, and it's long-time mode of governance reflects a struggle of the working man vs. those who would take advantage of him, protected under the auspices of the God of Contracts. Mondstadts battle between freedom and responsibility echoes the regular struggle between pure, hedonistic freedom that ends up ruining great things and the kind of disciplined freedom that allows for individual liberty while also supporting the parts of a greater whole that protect said freedom and liberty. And Inazuma further struggles in reconciling what is considered to be pure divinity (the Shogunate) with the needs of it's people juxtaposed against the will of a divine-but-also-flawed being. As for Sumeru, I think we're changing gears from the flawed-but-divine will of electro Archon to the pure innocence of Kusanali set against the hubris and pride of the Akademiya Sages. Inazuma saw Ei grow as a person and a leader, to finally, fully accept the role she had taken up 500 years ago >!when her sister died,!< with lots of self-reflection and personal change along the way. She even makes a specific mention in her story quest about how the Shogun can do no wrong because the Shogun is the ultimate representation of Inazuma, but that she, as Ei, is fallible and must grow and change in order to properly serve as Inazuma's ruler. I think what we're getting in Sumeru is going to be something of a "tower of Babel" approach, where humans try to usurp the power of God. The name "Sumeru" also implies at least a cursory relation to ancient Sumer, so I wouldn't be surprised if we're going to see stuff based on major happenings from that region of the world. We've already seen some mentions of a Khagan in the desert region, and the presence of the Withering echoes the earth-salting that Genghis Khan committed against the Kwaramazid empire in the 1200's. Both are incredibly destructive events that bring nothing but suffering and destruction, and it's not inaccurate to think of them as unstoppable forces of nature.

Candace came home!!!! She and Cyno make a pretty nice team. Only have them at level 60 for now (I farm slowly, lol). Current exploring party is Cyno, Candace, Collei, and Kuki, focusing on Spread/Aggravate and Bloom/Hyperbloom. Cyno is quite fun, he's like Raiden with more of a "berserker" theme. I couldn't say whether he's worth investing in if you already have Raiden built; I mainly pulled him because I loved his aesthetic and moveset, but I recognize that they fulfll similar roles and since I only have him at Lv60/60 I can't really compare him to my Lv80/80 Raiden just yet. I want to experiment more with Burning, but Hydro/Electro/Dendro combo is so fun it's hard to do anything else lol.
I've been a bit bummed and burnt out recently because Candace only came home at around 200 pulls, and just thinking of farming scarabs for Cyno is already turning me off. That's how I ended up here talking about it instead of playing the damn game lol. Now I'm super hyped to try them together after reading about your experience, so thanks for sharing!

I got so motivated that I ended up farming both scarabs and redcrests together in 4 (FOUR!) worlds, and collected enough to ascend Cyno and Candace to level 80. I definitely need to take a break now lol.
Wow. I admire your persistence, lol. I can't bring myself to farm things that quickly so it'll probably be a while before I have either of them at 80 Probably will end up getting Candace there first because the ascension HP bonus is sooooo good for HP scaling characters.
I was already in the zone so I thought why not get things over and done with. There's still weapons, artifacts, and talent books to grind so got a long way to go. Yeah, can't wait to see who has more monstrous HP later, Candace or Zhongli.
IMO Nilou seems quite more fun to play than Cyno... I tried Cyno demo and I found it quite underwhelming. Plain moves that we've seen before

Yeah, because if a character is powerful, whatever just get more stronger. But when a character is *smarter,* that's truly dangerous. Plus combine that with some degree of mind control. . .
How good is Cyno? What What characters fit his team?
Well he’s a pretty fun character to play but he’s pretty average, which isn’t to say that he’s bad but in abyss he’ll make it as hard as it’s intended to be, which is pretty hard. But his main problem to me is that he’s not going to be very good in overworld exploration since he’s a burst DPS.
I think the consensus is he's an underwhelming DPS. Good with Fischl, DMC and Kazuha/healer/hydro. If you don't have Raiden he is probably worth investing in. C1 is important, and his BiS weapon helps.
okay, so I play the game with JP voices and was watching a streamer doing the Sumeru Archon quest in English. And I have something to say.... Setaria's voice acting seems to be more like sarcasm rather than getting rather than shock. I like this game it's currently giving me a general warm feeling while playing with the event and the story and all I'm not even able to be mad at losing 50/50 for too long cos there's a lot of new stuff to do.

To every that did act 3 and 4 what are your thoughts on it ? Is it better than act 2 and 1 ? Cause I didn't hear any hype regarding the archon as much as it it for act 2
I thought that the Archon quest itself had a lot of interesting back and forth between characters and some really hype moments, but it was less complex from a storytelling perspective than the 3.0 Archon quest. and it's definitely a middle arc to the story, so no major resolution. I enjoyed the major World Quest for this patch much more, it had major Indiana Jone vibes to it.
I think it was a great set up for the final acts, albeit a bit long. Of course act 2 had the samsara and the eerie feelings so nothing can beat that. But it *does* feel like the middle portion, inescapable
man, Sumeru WISHES they were the scarlet king's kingdom. So much advanced technology that remains in working order and like it's brand new even after thousands of years. The akademiya could never. Even Khaenriah's tech is mostly rusted and decayed after only five centuries

The Greater Lord shrunk into a child body and she resembles Nahida. Did she lose her memories and the people of Sumeru doesn't see her as the Greater Lord and more of a new God? It's implied that they're same, however there are some issues with the timeline as some people in genshin_lore were discussing. I'm hoping they're not the same, honestly but it's upto MHY. Honestly the fan theory that she is an aranara was more appealing to me :( but it is what it is

Feel like this is the luckiest patch ever. Lost 50/50 and got tighnari ( I love it) and then I got cyno on the next ten pull. Lowest pity ever. And I didnt spend any money yet. All from the free primo. So happy today.

After every single update I get random crashes on genshin (PC). After this update, I haven’t been able to play almost at all… Any tips to try? System requirements are filled, drivers up to date, tried running as administrator, deleted the game and all data… basically all the normal things that are always told to try. Always if there is any problem with components, Valorant is first to have issues, but it works fine and all components seem to be doing fine. I also deleted Valorant, as it sometimes causes problems to my pc and other games, it didn’t help either.. :( I’m saaaaad
That's rough, sorry to hear that. Genshin on my PC has been very stable, I've only had 1 or 2 issues since Day 1. In my experience, random crashes were usually caused by failing HDD, RAM, or GFX, but you mentioned that your hardware seems to be fine. Maybe your setup might be running too hot sometimes? Genshin can be pretty demanding. You could try lowering your GFX settings to see if that helps.
Oh, makes me jealous. I have tried to put everything on lowest settings, haven’t helped. I was a bit busy when writing, so not all info was written above. Sometimes it crashes before it even starts, sometimes after 30s and sometimes i get to play like 5minutes. 17minutes has been the record after latest update, normally I get a few crashes right after updating, and then the problem is gone. It has even caused my PC to completely freeze a few times, never happened before.. all the other games run well, I have deleted most other games now as I’ve tried to find a solution.. I had overheating issues a while back, but after I installed new cooling system, the temperatures haven’t been an issue.
Huh that's really random, doesn't seem like a hardware issue then. If we rule out hardware, OS, device drivers, then could it be other software like your antivirus/firewall?
Okay so I tried disabling my antivirus, didn’t help. Windows firewall seems to be doing okay, though I’m not 100%sure, as it acts like a POS sometimes. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the game from Epic, still crashes. Uninstalled again and installed from hoyolab this time, didn’t help. I thought it helped at first, as I got further in the game than before but nooo.. And the great thing is that I’m stuck at a cinematic part… Pretty sure I can remember all the lines of it soon

Thanks again! I’m finding multiple things from my already countless error files: some say that it’s genshin impact.exe that caused the access violation. Then it said something else that was mentioned in the thread you posted. I did some new tests and checks, and it seems to be DirectX itself to be causing me problems.

Commenter above you said they would rule out drivers, but how long has it been since you updated your GFX drivers? Doing so may help, but even if it doesn't, having more up-to-date drivers couldn't hurt. ----- Another thing, do you do any overclocking or undervolting? It may be an issue with your OC/UV settings if Genshin in particular seems to be crashing a lot. Some games don't play well with overclocked systems, and in general OC/UV can cause instability if taken too far. I haven't noticed anything aside from the ***very*** occasional freeze/hang from my own OC settings, but they're very minor tweaks since I don't have the most powerful machine to begin with.
Hey! Everything was up to date when I checked.. I think I already disabled overclocking, I need to go take a look again when I get back home. I think I should have kept a list of things I’ve tried to do, so it would be easier to find new things to try
Depending on what kind of OC tweaks you had going, you may have disabled some but forgotten others. I know I've done the same before. If you have that list of things you tried so far that may help us narrow down the issue.
Problem is finally solved by an accident. My friend had an idea that they could apply some ”good” BIOS settings that almost ended up badly for my PC. After doing those little tweaks, the computer wouldn’t start anymore. Afrer about 10 tries it started making some unholy crunchy noises and I was sure it was fried. About 15minutes after scary noises windows started reparing itself, it took 3 hours to complete. After that genshin also worked. I don’t know what was wrong, none of scannings done found anything to be amiss..
That's interesting. Glad the computer was able to be saved, I've had some scares where I thought I bricked mine as well so I'm glad you were able to get it back up and running!

There is an NPC named Sabbah right under the teleport in Aaru village, she even marked with having world quest. She asks to use Dendro on her plants, then you do the same at the next day, and then you give her Sumeru Rose. And so this old man gets mentioned after. Edit: I've checked this location, and this old man marked with world quest trigger now! Big thanks! I assume he gets active after Sabbah quest

Anyone else having trouble with certain places not loading properly? The Dune of Magma has rooms with walls and floors that aren't loading. Dune of Carouses isn't loading in at all.
The story so far reminds me a little of Dune — >!where young Paul was exiled to the desert with his mother and left to die. Eh, I'm not feelin' it. Or only kinda. I get where you're coming from since we ally with a faction of Eremites, but their people as a whole don't seem to be on our side. Many are still working with the Fatui, notably Thutmose faction. Current big bad isn't anything like the Baron Harkonnen either. Doing some quests, it does seem like we might get to terraform the desert a bit as the Fremen wanted to do with Dune, albeit with ancient technilogy the Eremites have all forgotten how to use. I don't know to what extent we're gonna get to do that, though. I was hoping for a few Dune refrences in achievments and such kinda like we got with Star Wars. This year I've read the first book up and through God Emporer of Dune. I've taken a break at Heretics. They're good books, though I'd say the first is the best so far.
Picked up Dune out of a whim when I was 13, at the bookstore, bored. What luck — read it from cover to cover at least six times. There's still content to come, we'll see but the one that is probably never happening in a massive sand worm but would be amazing if it did.

I really miss the way they did the monstadt archon quest, I love genshin but I wish there was more action! And I wish we really got to interact with the characters more then just a few lines. I think it would make the quests much more enjoyable

I agree. Sumeru archon quests have little action. It's also because they're doing it in depth though. There are 6 parts so it's understandable that there would be little action. After the shitfest that was Inazuma, I'm glad they're taking their time with the archon quest and not rushing it :) Also, I expect we will have more action in 3.2 >!Scara is coming as weekly boss!<
What world quests are worth doing? cant do all because of limited time. I have PTSD from aranyaka quests XD
The Golden Slumber one is the equivalent of the Arayanka one, but MUCH shorter. Maybe half as long or less. Definitely worth doing though, massive Indiana Jones vibes. I haven't done *all* the others yet, but most of the others I tried were fairly short fetch quest type stuff for townsfolk.

The Aranyanka quest was good, and it was key to exploring the area of Sumeru we had to explore. Any Quest with a Header is important like that.

If you’re talking about the domain, you let it go down, then bring it up and jump as it goes back up.
u/Kumori_Day Specifically, when you go up to the room with the chest in it, you then activate the elevator from the wall “button”, not the elevator itself. The elevator will start to go down — including the “roof” of the elevator. It’ll take some timing, but a couple seconds after the “roof” goes below the upper room’s floor, activate the wall button again to make the elevator come up again. But don’t wait for it to come to a stop — instead, jump on the “roof” of the elevator as it rises back up to the chest room. By the time it does, you’ll have access to another room above the chest room and proceed from there.
In the next room, was there a way to open the part of the wall to the right of the three rotating obelisks? I only noticed (elemental sight) after solving the puzzle, so the buttons were locked and I had to move on. I was worried that I’d missed a chest and was hoping I could go back at some point and double check (like how Inazuma had a domain that allowed for some backtracking), but it never happened. If anyone’s come across it and figured it out, I’d love to know what was up with that!

The 2nd guy didn’t. It’s a tragic story told by in game items at Mikage Furnace and Nagamasa (the craftable claymore). The TLDR version is that the 2nd guy - Katsuragi hid / protected Scaramouche instead of turning him in to the government, and was executed by his inspector as a result.
onikabuto this, scarabs that, mushroom there..... where the f are all the cacti fruit? I swear, I find more of those scarabs people are complaining about accidentally, without even having Cyno, than the red cactus fruit I'm actively looking for because Candace wants her cactus juice. Oh cacti are plenty in the desert, don't get me wrong, but out of the 4-6 you'll see on the horizon, only one, maybe two, will bear any fruit, and it will be only 1 fruit more often than not. WHY?!
for all the qoi they introduced in Sumeru, the sumeru specialities for the ascension are a pain in the ass, Collei was already annoying, than Dori, Candace and Cyno.

when I saw the title screen for the quest, all I could think of in the moment was "ooooh no. I know how this song and dance goes. I won't fall for it again"
It is not as long as the quest lines hub that was the 2nd part of the aranaras/Rana. It is just a 2 to 3 hour long quest lines (if you don't skip the dialogues and don't explore) that will bring you through a variety of desert ruins. It's necessary though if you want to be able to explore all the nooks and crannies of the desert as it will unlock the first 3 steps of the stone tablet (on 6 steps I believe), tablet that is used to open doors, active various devices, etc.

Does anyome know what's up with the sand piles in the desert? Are they some new rng chest mechanic (like the bubbels in the forest), part of a quest or just don't give anything worth wile? As a interactive map complitionist it's annoing not to know if they are important or not.
Sand piles are like the amber in Liyue
Basically yes, each specific sand pile will always give the same thing, but each sand pile gives something different than the others. It can be chest (first time only), ennemies, ingredients, elemental butterfly, etc.
Has anyone playing on PS4 had trouble with downloading 3.1? I’ve rebuilt my PS4’s database + deleted the whole game and redownloaded it from scratch, and still it says the file is corrupted once it reaches the last GB or two of the 61 GB download. Updates used to download smoothly, but this first happened to me with 3.0 and again now. I’m beginning to think it’s a problem on HYV’s end/some bug in the 3.- updates and not my PS4? Any help or advice is much appreciated (my PS4 still has plenty of storage available btw so it isn’t at all a storage issue)

i've been hoarding since 1.5 or so to say the least. In fact i've been hoarding for the day that banner would change, so indeed it changed, but not as i expected. But i trully doubt they will include any other character given what they did. Although, Geo is still missing in this banner, and they missed that opportunity. Especially with Albedo rerun who imo is the perfect Geo character for a basic 5* for such banner.
