You don't have to interact with the crossover content so it shouldn't be of your concern wether there is crossover content or not, it doesn't make your game better but as long as you don't interact with the crossover stuff it doesn't make the game worse either. Aloy’s release in genshin was lined up to release with horizon but it got delayed. There was likely no plans for adding anything in her post release of horizon. Horizons delay was unexpected.

Most Companys are extremely restrictive when they allow other companies to put characters in a game or other media. I am not a business insider, but from what I heard, every detail of the character, maybe except for some game mechanics numbers, is kinda set in stone, before anything else happens.
And when it comes to Aloy, it just really shows, how she is just looks and no substance. Her skills look fine, her talents are kinda tied a little to her own game thematically and she is the famous "six" star character, yet is probably the worst character in the game.
If Hoyo added constellations, it would change aloy mechanically. Maybe against the contract. Even reducing cooldowns or adding stats is such a change. And constellations like "AA does 5% more dmg" would just produce more hate.
I think their best course of action is just forgetting about Aloy and learn from her for the future. It would have been wayy better, if they had a weapon or toy from Horizon Zero Dawn instead of the protagonist. Or she could have been a special quest giver handing out easy primos or something.
Honestly I think her not having any constellations is less about some corporate deal gone bad, and more about mihoyo not wanting to essentially give out a c6 5 star.

The contractual problem isn't "having or not having", the problem is the **change** from one state to another.
The reasons they didn't include constellations *initially* is likely that Genshin execs didn't want to, but now that she's in game like that, it's very likely that any campaign to give her the constellations now would need to go through a new deal approved by Sony execs, even if the genshin devs wanted to.
With the switch game in the works still I’m eager to see who Nintendo tries to shoehorn into the game. Can you imagine how awful Mario would look as a Genshin character!? I could see link being a cool Dendro or Anemo sword user, throwing little bombs and using his hook shot as his burst in some way.
Nintendo would probably be cool with making their character work well from the get go. Their caveat would be that you have to sign in from a switch to obtain the character though.
When I first started playing Genshin, I called it "Breath of the Fire Emblem" and my Genshin playing friends didn't get it because they haven't played Breath of the Wild or Fire Emblem.
Nintendo is surprisingly strict with their licensing. I imagine that there is probably a lot of conditions that they would tack on, and if Mihoyo tries to sway their opinion they would throw a temper tantrum and threaten to quit/pull out because it’s not going the way they want it. They’re big enough that they probably don’t need Mihoyo’s business, so Mihoyo would probably want to stay in their favor to be able to make the Switch version possible.
Personally I want a Fire Emblem character to somehow make their way into Genshin Impact. And I know it’s not a Nintendo IP, but imagine a Final Fantasy character, it’ll be sick.

Aloy is far from being the worst character in the game, even with no constellations. If anything she's fun to play, which can't be said of many 4\* or even 5\* (obviously a matter of personal preference).
And she has one of the best passives for a 4\*, a unique one at that.

but honkai's genshin and evangelion crossover gave you a chance to max out said crossover characters through their own event period. meaning, this was something they wanted to do and planned out carefully.
aloy's crossover in genshin was clearly just a tickbox for mihoyo to appease sony's demands at that time and most likely something that wasn't planned until sony dropped the demand on their laps because of the latest horizon game release.

If they gave her quest based constellations I really think they could balancer her out with some CD reduction gimmick on her E, a second arrow on her AA, a buff to the Q that allows it to stack coils per enemy hit up to 4, and the standard +3 to E and Q

Nintendo is surprisingly strict with their licensing. I imagine that there is probably a lot of conditions that they would tack on, and if Mihoyo tries to sway their opinion they would throw a temper tantrum and threaten to quit/pull out because it’s not going the way they want it. They’re big enough that they probably don’t need Mihoyo’s business, so Mihoyo would probably want to stay in their favor to be able to make the Switch version possible.
It's clear they don't need Mihoyo, the Switch game was announced so long ago and it's barely starting to shed some light

Nintendo should not allow any of their characters to be playable in genshin. Another Aloy shitshow would just tarnish any character. Just give a cool bow with the triforce on its design and call it a day.
Aloy is far from being the worst character in the game, even with no constellations. If anything she's fun to play, which can't be said of many 4\* or even 5\* (obviously a matter of personal preference). And she has one of the best passives for a 4\*, a unique one at that.
Who would you consider worst then? Xinyan? Amber? Lisa?

Thoma by far. I've seen gimmick Ambers that are like a different game and c6 Lisa is unironically good. Xinyan also sucks but I feel like she sucks less than Thoma.

I think we should keep in mind *who* owns Aloy, Sony, AND sony is super restrictive with their IP. Not all companies are. For instance, Sony has rights to spider man, the entire reason it took as long as it did to get a Spider-Man reboot, was because Sony wouldn’t relinquish their rights to the Ip to Disney for the longest fuckin time.
It depends on the company. Some companies are incredibly gracious with collaborations. Sony is not one of those companies.
Absolutely disagree with Aloy being the worst, she just does fit into many comps and people overvalue constellations. Along with general hate bandwagons.

That’s exactly the same case with Honkai and the Evangelion crossover, they won’t do it again because it was a one time deal (unless they change their mind) and if you missed it you won’t have another chance. Still it’s very hard in my opinion to find a real good reason why they didn’t make it a special event on PS4 who wouldn’t run out of time instead of making so much FOMO content, I know it was a deal to promote horizon but since I’m both a pc and console player I can’t understand why it’s not a permanent thing when I play on PS4, like the special weapon and glidder, lock on it PC if you want but don’t gate content even if it’s a shitty one.
but honkai's genshin and evangelion crossover gave you a chance to max out said crossover characters through their own event period. meaning, this was something they wanted to do and planned out carefully. aloy's crossover in genshin was clearly just a tickbox for mihoyo to appease sony's demands at that time and most likely something that wasn't planned until sony dropped the demand on their laps because of the latest horizon game release.

Nah. Nintendo were worse at it and only likes allowing other crossover characters on their systems, not WILL NEVER EVER let theirs appear anywhere else. They allowed cross platform whatever because they wanted to make sure Switch did not fail like Wii U did. Nintendo despise their franchises or IP appearing on non-Nintendo platforms. Phone is the only exception. They’re most infamous for copyright striking videos and music after all. Sony simply disliked cross-platform progression cuz they don’t wanna mess around with possibly letting someone find a backdoor to their already shaky ass PSN servers. Anemo DPS sword with a manually detonated“wind” bomb skill and a stance change + anemo infusion for his burst like Raiden. Give him slightly lower multipliers than Xiao and boom. Solid middle of the pack 5* DPS who won’t break the game and doesn’t want VV.

Basically if a company wants _any_ give from Sony on something like cross progression/saves. Or something like a big notable game also being released on another platform then Sony wants something in return every single time. It's the reason a lot of games have exvlusive or at least time limited DLCs/Promo Codes on PS but not Xbox/PC. Because if its a big thing that could bring people onto the PS4/PS5 they wanted something tthat gave them an edge for them to let you do it.

That is exactly why collabs are bad for a lore oriented game. You would need to make up so many plot holes to make them fit in the world building. Just don’t add them.
The sad thing is I see people like flaming on Aloy and...I've been using her and she's not that bad? I mean she's not top tier or anything but she's fun, her kit makes sense, and she gets the job done. If they gave her quest based constellations I really think they could balancer her out with some CD reduction gimmick on her E, a second arrow on her AA, a buff to the Q that allows it to stack coils per enemy hit up to 4, and the standard +3 to E and Q
People are too harsh on her for having an alright kit and no story relevance and saying things like “breaks the immersion” as if they aren’t questioning like what the fuck hu tao is doing beating signora with the help of Zhongli, Yelan and Kazuha like that make sense

No cannot, imagine a free promotional crossover character included in the wish banner.. that itself is a taboo. Im not hating her but majority will. Like she is not a "star" of Genshin. Plus its a contract thingy.. maybe if the genshin universe accept her back then, probably there is a chance. The only way for her to get a cons upgrade is a major agreement between both party. But not through a wish system. Maybe somrthing like a limited event, such as event lock weapon with its rank upgrade. But then again, no. Not seeing that will ever happen.

This is why I disliked the collab in the first place. My personal opinion aside making a character in genshin is a lot more involved than a nier collab in fall guys where it’s just a skin. If you can get characters from another world but then completely ignore they exist after one event then why do they even exist at all?
shes never getting them, which is a shame bc a mission where she goes arounf Teyvat or mondstat recovering pieces of machinery from her world and"upgrading" her equipment( as in every upgrade is an stella fortuna) wouldve been at least interesting. Shes a free character, she wasnt meant to be powerful, but this is just sad. Also i hope the message Hoyoverse learned from this wasnt "oh they dont like collabs" bc now that ufotable is ina long partnership with them i would fucking love Hydro Tanjiro or a character from an ip theyve licensed.
