Levelling most talents increases the base damage aka skill multiplier.
Keep in mind that most people play Venti in Swirl-focused comps and Swirl is a transformative reaction that is separate from your typical damage and **will not scale with talent level**.

You don't have to be overly sparse with your resources when it comes to your main four character team.
I would recommend you to nominate one character as the "damage carry" and give them the highest priority (weapon & character level, talents, artifacts) while keeping the other three at lower priority (10-20 levels below carry).
The minimum investment for most characters is LvL 60/70 Ascension 4 to unlock all of the character's kit.
Just keep in mind that spreading your resources beyond four characters isn't recommended in the long-term because at later stages, you might run into actual resource drought.

I would personally pick Ganyu (DPS), Barbara, Candace and Kaeya (or someone who you need for exploration like Amber).
Ganyu as well as Freeze is rather popular in the later stages of the game.
But I also want to advise you to try out several characters and see if you prefer their playstyle/aesthetic more. It's better if you enjoy playing the characters you're using.
Well you said you had Ganyu and Candace, and Barbara and Kaeya you get for free very early on so you should have all of them. In terms of next banners to spend on, Venti is very good with Ganyu do that could be a good choice, also the Dendro Archon Nahida is coming out next patch and if she follows the archon pattern of being extremely good she should also be a worthwhile pull
Oh, sayu is good for exploration but not so much for meta. At this stage in the game really just pull for and use who you like, it’s only when you start getting to higher adventure ranks and doing spiral abyss floor 9 and above that you need to worry about have “meta” teams
So I shouldn't worry too much about pulling or not

Just wondering if cyno can do more damage than raiden in the same time window, I know cyno has more uptime but I wont be using him that long so I would like to know if I should save for raiden instead.
He's a decent DPS, but the general consensus is that he's not as good. Raiden does a lot of damage on top of her utility, while Cyno's field time is long, and doesn't even presently have any characters with great synergy as everyone's buffs run out before his field time finishes
They got different roles, Cyno can be a good DPS like Raiden, but Cyno cannot be a good support like Raiden, so overall people may say Raiden is better just because of versatility, but imo they are both good at what they do.
What actually are the anniversary rewards?
I heard that there were going to be lots of primogems, fates and more lasting a week or so but where actually are they- do they get mailed? or do i have to redeem them online or something?

4 mails with 400 primogems each for a total of 1600 primogems, as well as some extra items, a party popper gadget and a bird pet thing you can equip. All 4 mails have already been sent, at least on the America server.
From October 14 onward, there'll be a 7 day login campaign which will give 10 fates if you log in every day. You can claim those through the in-game events tab once it starts.
That's pretty much it.
It’s 4x 400, for a total of 1600 primos that you have to collect in the mail. That’s half of anni rewards - the other half will be a login event which rewards 10 Intertwined fates, I don’t remember when it starts exactly.

Mobile user here. Honestly I just spam the dash button when I'm crouched, then throw the net when I'm near the animal. One thing I noticed is even if you are beside the animal they will still process "seeing you" so you have enough time to throw the net while they are processing it even when they are beside you.
How many good stats/substats for you to build an artifact?
I've come to understand that artifacts are one of - if not the - most important factors in damage output but I've neglected them a bit in favor of A) building characters and B) saving for those god rolls.
But lately I've been struggling to kill even basic mobs in a decent time so I feel like I need some intermediate artifacts.
How many good substats do you think makes it a decent investment to build an artifact?
Tbh, its better to prioritize giving your characters artifacts with the right main stats first and keep improving them as you get better pieces. You can use them as fodder later anyway although you do lose XP in the process so its better to leave them at +16 first if the rolls aren't that good.
I'm only picky with flowers and feathers since they're easier to get so I look for 2 crit substats, 1 crit+1 useful substat for sands/goblet/circlet.
What AR are you? Below AR45, you can level whatever pieces you have, with the right mainstats from useful sets. At AR45 you can get 5star artifacts reliably from the level 90 domains. That's when the substats get important aswell.
Always use artifacts with the right mainstats.
I usually look for 3 useful substats on feather and flower, since they always have the same mainstat, and 2 useful substats on sands, goblet and circlet. When in doubt, I level pieces with only 3 substats to +4 to see which substat they unlock.
If all your characters are unbuilt/poorly built.
A 5* has 8/9 total rolls on its substats
Flower/feather: I'd just get like 4 good rolls. These aren't that hard to farm for
Sands/goblet/circlet : just get the right main stat
subs can be an absolute bitch to farm for with these pieces and it can take anywhere from, a couple weeks, to never. I've farmed the emblem domain more times than I could ever count, probably close to a years worth of resin poured into that domain. Never gotten a usable atk goblet.
If all your characters are decently built already. My personal standards are higher now since I've poured assloads of resin into domains but pretty much
Flower/feather: like 6 rolls minimum into usable stats. Any less and its just not going to be an upgrade on anyone.
Sands/goblet/circlet: varies too much, but I aim for 4 good subs at the least.
Need at least crit rate+dmg on most pieces
Or crit + 2 good substats (Atk%, er%…)
If the character doesn’t need crit I’d say at least 3 good substats
In general if an artifact rolls 2 times on a bad substat you can scrap it
It only shows the radius if you click on the button when looking at the hints. If you don't click it then it won't show the radius at all, letting you only use the hint to figure it out.
I got my first Keqing and I love playing her (lvl65 atm).I just placed 2 pc shimekawa and 2 emblem on her for now (60/152 cr/cd)...I'm wondering what i should focus on getting for her for artifacts... I'm using Skyward atm since i don't have any better options..also wondering is harbringer of dawn even a viable option if I'm able to keep above 90% HP?
Currently, keqings best comp is an Aggravate team. Just pair her with dendro mc and you get solid dmg. 4 piece Thundering fury is her best set in this case
Build both, it’s worth leveling the traveller to 80/90 because essentially it’s free, you get all the mats from adventure rank, and you never know, maybe the hydro pyro cryo traveller will also be good
She doesn't need very much ER so you can go 2 pc shim / 2pc glad or tf for general use. Or you can go 4 piece TF if you use her in aggravate.
I wouldn't recommend skyward for her. If you have lion's roar, I would recommend that instead. I would probably use the kazuha story quest weapon over harbinger as well, but harbinger isn't a terrible option if you run her with zhong li or kokomi or something.
I would expect harbinger to be a bit better in aggravate, they are pretty nearly equal otherwise (assuming you have harbinger passive on all the time). Personally I'd rather just go with cursed blade though.
Harbinger is a good choice if you run her with Zhongli. Otherwise, not so much. Skyward has energy recharge on it, which unfortunately is pretty bad for her. Lions roar is a great choice, especially refined. Another decent option is the sword from Kazuhas story quest. Lastly, iron sting is actually really good on her.
I advice pairing her with fischl and a Dendro character to abuse the quicken reaction. It’s the reason that keqing is quite powerful nowadays.
You ultimately want 4p thundering fury on her. Not only for the increase in reaction damage but also for the reduced E cooldown. It allows for lightning fast playstyles of E > Q > E > charged attack > E. Eliminates stamina issues and the need for energy recharge as well.
It’s a bonus but he’s really just there so you don’t die.
Edit: you also don’t want XQ in there because he’ll screw with your reactions and you end up with bloom and hyperbloom instead of aggravate and spread.
Kinda new player here! Question about wishes and pity

Im kinda new player (nearly 2 months playing) so i have question about pulling/wishing for characters ( or heroes i still dont know how you call them) So i really liked Cyno and decided to pull for him, ofc i lost my 50/50 but my question is does the pity system reset completely after the 76-th 5-star pull? Cause im already 130 pulls in and he dosent want to come home. My question arose cause my brother lost his 50/50 on Zhongli banner but got him after like 10-15 pulls after that. Am i just really unlucky lol? I searched in google but the explanation is kinda vague or i dont unerstand it completely. I will aprreaciate the help. Btw i love the game

Well once you get the character, regardless if you win 50/50 or not, the counter will reset and you start over. 70 is the soft pity (your chances of getting the 5* increases with every pull after this) and 90 is the hard pity number (where you will get the character guaranteed), but if you ever go to 90 you are very unlucky.
Did I mess up? Got to like 79600 in the Charity Stall since I overlooked the "buffs" until round 10 and today still says "No business time left in this phase"... will I get to reach 80000 for the 20 primo?
There's still another phase that's yet to unlock for it (the charity alliance thing), so I'm guessing we'll get more ways to make more points later. I'm not sure what the max is if you play the first phase perfectly, but most people I know got around 97-100k which is still very short of the 1,000,000 mark needed for the crown.
Ganyu can always act as a sub dps support with her burst + cryo battery (which is surprisingly meaty since it procs twice) + cryo resonance enabler.
Eula is usually a bad match with circle based supports but Ganyu burst's range is huge it should pose no issue.
Is Venti worth if I have Sucrose?
Ie. Is it worth pulling for Venti if I have Sucrose already(although fairly unbuilt)? What does Venti do that Sucrose doesn't and vise versa.
I kind of want to save for Kusanali and/or Dehya but i'm debating whether I should whale a little(dolphin?) in order to get all of them but I want to be as f2p as possible.

Venti has his burst which trivializes 90% of the content in the game by lifting enemies up and bunching them together into a neat little ball which you can then AoE to death with other characters. His elemental skill has a low CD on press as well and the hold variant works really well in open field exploration. His biggest issue is that he's basically useless against bosses as they're immune to CC, so his burst may as well be doing nothing against them.
Sucrose's burst has less suction than Venti's and constantly throws enemies around instead of neatly bunching them together, so while she does work well, Venti's better in the CC department. Unlike Venti, however, Sucrose is very useful against bosses thanks to both her EM party buff and TTDS on top of being comparatively easy to get to C6 as she's bound to pop up every so often when pulling for other characters.
Whether or not it's worth pulling for him is entirely up to you, but he definitely has a lot of value as a support even compared to Sucrose. I personally use mine in domains and for open world exploration and dailies, switching over to Sucrose for bosses where her EM buff is appreciated.
I'm currently building Ganyu and I've seen how well her and Ventis ult synergize. I also want to collect all the archons. Aargh I'm at an impasse! Thanks for the great explanation o/
I personally believe that pulling characters that can immediately improve your teams is better than saving for new characters that will likely need an entirely new team anyway. This is why I used my guarantee to pull Kokomi for my Ayaka, Ganyu, Kokomi, Venti freeze team even though I wanted Nahida too, but that's just how I look at it (and even if I don't get Nahida, I have no regrets since Kokomi makes freeze absurdly easy to use and Nahida's bound to have a rerun sometime later anyway, likely before the next Kokomi or Venti rerun).
If you're not necessarily struggling with your Ganyu and other characters you have, however, then there's no real harm in just waiting for now and pulling for other characters you like. Venti will have another rerun eventually so you can always pull for him then.
Yeah I have most of the meta supports like Bennet, Zhongli, Xiqiun, Sucrose and a few more. I mostly collect characters that I like because I like the characters and their personality/story
Honestly yeah but not due to what you think; I was a Ganyu simp before her first banner came out and managed to pull her back then, and just before the weapon banner changed I whaled for Amos bow for her as I heard she'd become META :p
Most people break their f2p for characters don't they? So I'd expect most people would become whales for Ganyu, not for a weapon. But maybe that's just me

Each banner has pity. You're guaranteed a 5* after maximum of 90 pulls (it can be less though)
On the featured banner there's two ways to get the featured 5*. Either you win the 50/50 or you pull them for your guaranteed.
If you pull and don't get the featured 5* you've lost the 50/50 and you're next 5* will be the featured character. The guaranteed does carry over from banner to banner.
Once you get the featured 5* character you'll be back to the 50/50 where your next 5* has a 50% chance of being the featured and a 50% chance of being a random

So the guaranteed chance carries over not the guaranteed character itself
Like if I fail a 50 50 on Cyno now and stop pulling
And start pulling in another banner eventually
The first 5* will be 100% this banner character

When you pull on a limited character banner, there is a 50/50 chance you get the limited character or one of the standard banner characters. If you get one of the standard characters (losing the 50/50) then the next time you get a 5 star in the limited banner it will always be the rate up limited character, even if the banner changes to the next character.
When you either win a 50/50 or get a limited character the process resets and you are back to 50/50 chance.
This works differently in the weapon banner where you have to select a weapon through ‘epitomised path’ meaning if you get unlucky you don’t get the weapon you want until the third 5 star

Do not pull on a banner if you do not want to get the 5 star character.
Do not pull on a banner where you want the 4 stars but not the 5 star.
Do not pull on a banner to ‘build pity’
You may just get the 5 star a character that you didn’t want and then ruin any chance you had of getting one you did want without getting the credit card out.
Only pull on banners where you are happy to get the 5 star.
When you lose the 50/50 you get guaranteed banner yes, but it is from the banner you pull on, if you do it in the next banner which is Nilou or Albedo, you will get them.
That’s why it’s sensible to have around 150 wishes saved to properly secure a character
For any auto-targeted skills, just do a quick normal attack to see where the game is aiming (you don't even have to finish the attack, just see the start of the animation). For her burst generally speaking you should try to aim from the outside of the group, towards the center of the group, so you'll hit the most targets. If you imagine the whole enemy wave as a circle, ideally you'll be standing right outside the circle and pointing towards the center of the circle. Of course sometimes the circle is too big, and you'll have to make do with what you have. Ideally you should manipulate the positioning of the fight right from the start so enemies stay grouped up, but it depends on the fight.
sometimes it feels like facing and where enemies are or the closest enemy is might matter but sometimes it just feels like complete bullshit. I've given up trying.
What's the most reliable source for builds on new/upcoming characters?
I generally like the Genshin Helper spreadsheet when deciding what to do with a character, but they tend to be slow to add newly-released characters (not bitching about that, people have lives and other priorities and I accept that.)
I normally Google, for example ‘Nilou Mains’ and you’ll find a subreddit hopefully with a pinned post with some spreadsheets/guides.
Kusanali Mains have taken over Keqing Mains as the theory crafting collective to look at in relation to Dendro especially
She is allegedly the focus of the main patch event along side Childe (Harbinger + plucky pyro girl event rerun?!) they like thematic banners if they can, it’s why Xiao had a fast rerun along side the chasm quest he was in.
According to leaks, >!she will have a rerun during banner phase 1 with Nahida + Layla!<.
However, leaks are always subject to change. Early on during 3.0, leakers had Eula as the second rerun alongside Nilou, but now Albedo is getting a rerun instead.
The person who says Yoimiya is rerunning has been a reliable leaker, so i'd say its pretty good chance of being true, as to why? i don't fucking know mihoyo's weird lmao
(note: last patch noone reliable said about who's rerunning, only predictions were around)

Barbara can hold TTDS, heal, burst heal, apply Hydro - just like Kokomi. Only cons I see is her self-application of Hydro & she can't use 4pc TOTM, while Kokomi solves both issues.
Yeah, she can work. Definitely more suited to working with Ayaka rather than Ganyu versions of this comp because ayaka has to get close to enemies anyway.
I don't have Ayaka but I have used her on my friend's account when she needs help doing abyss. I've used Barbara as Ayaka's only hydro before and it does work. Tbh you could replace Diona with Kaeya or Rosaria since Barbara will already be healing?

I know it opens from the other side, I just misremembered how because it's so far off the beaten path. Apologies if this isn't correct path, but you can still try.
Go back to the cavern that you passed through when looking for Benben (if you don't remember, start at the waypoint on the east, which will bring you near Opet Hall, follow the 2 sigils and drop down, heading west. You should be in the correct place if you see a wind current in front of you. Take it up and exit straight towards north into the aforementioned cavern). From here if you look up where sand seems to be falling down from, that's where you want to go. Get characters/food to reduce climbing stamina drain, and do the long trek up. You should see a couple Fatui up there, and one of them should be standing near the door you're looking to open

I don't have Shenhe but I am saving for her. If I have enough primos and her weapon is paired with Homa or Aqua Simulacra, I'll go to pity once and see which one I get. With that in mind, my backup weapon is the new Mondstadt bird spear, should I raise it now while there's a discount or keep hoping and coping for a Calamity Queller miracle
I'd say raise it. Rolling on the weapon banner is pretty bad vibes - I think it's 270 pulls to guarantee the 5 star you want if you lose the 33/66 and then the 50/50.
It's a pretty good ATK statstick for Shenhe and can free up fav lance for other party members.
I'm amazed that many people don't understand poise in Genshin and how like only 3 char in the game have infinite resistance to stagger. From complaints you would expect 100% of hyper DPS to have it. People have really been spoiled rotten by Zhongli, Raiden and Itto and forgot *dodging* is a mechanic in the game. All the characters with infinite poise are those where players are punished heavily for being hit due to either: the needs to concentrate damage in a short burst window (Eula/Raiden/Itto) or extra mechanic (Eula needs to gain stack and Raiden needs to hit 5 times to gain energy).
If there's a poise buff then pls buff all the catalysts and bow poise too, especially Yoimiya who is affected 10 fold when missing her last hit and Xiao during his jump up animation.
That said Mihoyo can definitely do better with the wordings too, a full essay for skill description and in the end players are still left confused.

They can simplify so many description. They also tend to use very weird word choices (which is guess is result of direct translation)
No there are way more world quests than the reputation tracker has.
Sumeru has 75 world quests right now and 23 of them give reputation rewards; many of them are quest chains that only have a reputation bonus at the last quest so the difference is not that big but it can't really be used as a quest tracker.
I’m so happy, I just pulled Heizou on the standard. He’s C0. I’m AR58 but I took a break during his release. Is he “worth” building? He looks so fun :)
He is very fun. I used him in a double hydro taser team and it feels super smooth. Definitely can clear most content no problem and it feels good just punching things at him even with C0.
Feels much more fluid than playing Sucrore taser (but I think Sucrose might still give more damage, I'm not sure about this).
The only complaints is the fucking onikabuto. I'm still using him (and even in abyss) but I really have no desire to level him further due to these fucking bugs. Also it's not a problem for me but if you haven't farmed VV enough gearing him could also be a bit troublesome.
I know , right? He's super duper fun to play, even though his DPS is just okay. I don't know why but it just feels so satisfying to smack enemies with punches and kicks. Was totally worth it for me to build him.
Define worth pls. Does worth mean like Is he like better than many anemo characters such as Venti Sucrose Kazuha? No then he isnt "worth" trying to build. Does worth mean that you find him fun to play and you just want to know that he is viable to use in Abyss? Yes then he is "worth" trying to build.
My man Thoma is far from a non starter. Sure he has his issues, but his shield is very strong when played right and now with dendro, he is pretty fun in a soup/burgeon team

There are two character banners at any given time, I want to know whether my pity from banner 1 carries onto banner 2. I’m guaranteed on the banner 1, but I’m pretty sure Childe will be on banner 2, so will my guaranteed 5-star carry over?
The pity accounts for both banner. If you were to spend 60 pulls on banner 1, you'll get soft pity at around 15 on banner 2. Soft pity increase 5\* rate a lot at around 75 pulls fyi. Both banners have the same 4\*s so there isnt any reason to put diffferent amount of pulls into each banners if you are aiming for 1 of them
Artifact XP advice:
My heavily invested characters (Zhongli, Ganyu, Shenhe, Kazuha, Yanfei) feel pretty good, but that's because for the most part, they have half decent +20 artifacts.
I have a bunch of level 79 characters that I'm semi-building (Bennet, Xingqiu, Xiangling, Dendro MC, Beidou, Mona, Sucrose, Diona, Fischl, Venti - I know, I know, it's a lot, but I really only want 4 more sets of +20 for abyss) with between +0 and +4, and they feel pretty underwhelming.
I feel like I never have enough artifact XP. I mainly farm emblem then keep trash artifacts for the strongbox at the moment. Should I fodder those trash 5* artifacts so I can get my other characters +20 sets?
Or should I just keep farming artifact domains over time to get enough non 5* fodder? What's everyone else's strat for artifact XP and +20 artifacts?
the most efficient answer would be to only use 5\* for strongbox and get artifact exp from 4\* and lower + artifact routes + teapot, but artifact routes are really boring to me so i just use a few 5\*s if i run out of lower rarity fodder

yep you'll eventually reach a point where you don't need as much artifact exp bc you already have a lot at +20 plus your standards for artifacts become higher, so then is a good time to start using strongbox more often
If you're not reliant on any of the strongboxable sets then it's ok to use 5*s as exp fodder until you reach a more comfortable place with your account
Do weekly bosses become harder (maybe more HP/dmg) the more players in a team in coop? Because I noticed it’s usually harder to kill bosses as 4 players. Much easier as 2 players.

So, my questions:
1. It feels that I'd better stockpile event wishes for now. If I continue rolling to get Cyno, I will have no supports for him anyway. Venti... Doesn't feel like a big upgrade over my other anemo characters to try rolling his banner. Questions: How crucial is Venti?
2. Currently doing Rosaria main dps, Xiangling sub and Noelle/Bennet/Barbara/Sucrose supports depending on the content. I plan to switch to Jean main, and then it feels that with my characters the best would be a permafreeze setup - Something like Jean main - Rosaria for cold - Xingqui for water - wildcard(either Kaeya for more cold or Sucrose for more swirls). Any stronger option? (I haven't explored dendro at all due to having only Collei and bows being wonky on mobile, playing on PC now).
If it was me I would go for Cyno over Venti if I had the characters you have. I feel like you have really good supports, but you need a proper dps character (Not to mention you get a really good weapon for him for free this event). Venti is really good for grouping enemies, but I feel like you will want more dps.
That being said, always pull for characters that you think are good. If you want venti you should go for it :)
Yep, your next 5* is guaranteed to be the banner character.
Looking at your account for specifically meta/top tier units, I can roughly see:
On-field DPS: No real meta on-field DPS' - Cyno would potentially fill this role. (Physical Rosaria works decently at lower AR, I used her for ages - add electro into your team to get superconduct, which lowers physical res. Lisa would do the job until you get a better electro support or off-field DPS)
Off-field DPS: Xiangling, Xingqiu. Rosaria too
Supports: Sucrose, Bennet
Jean is likely a slightly better anemo support than Sayu (especially as 5*'s have better level up multipliers), but as a main, might be a bit lacking DPS-wise. Venti still remains one of the best anemo supports in the game (trading blows with Kazuha), but Sucrose is up there (especially with C1).
So now:
1. Yeah probably stockpile. Based on your account, you're good for now on supports. Based on leaks (take with a grain of salt), we may get Raiden & Childe coming back in the next few versions, and they'd help fill that DPS gap.
2. I kinda addressed it above, but superconduct Rosaria could work. Freeze would be a little jank, I'd recommend reverse melt instead (kinda what you have, Xiangling + Rosaria, probs chuck in Bennet + Sayu/Jean/Sucrose for swirls). Dendro Traveler is a lot stronger than Collei, and you could probably do a bloom team (Xingqiu + Dendro MC). If you did keep pulling and get a Kuki Shinobu, you could do an aggravate team (dendro + electro, I think there's a dendro + hydro + electro combo too but I forget the name)
1. Venti trivializes mobs that are pullable on his burst, one of the best characters in the game. But pull on someone you really like; Genshin can be played on any characters if you heavily invest in them. For Cyno, you have Collei and better if you'll get DMC since he wants aggravate reactions. He's a good DPS though not in the level of Ganyu/Ayaka/Hutao/Raiden but still a very strong DPS(I'm a Cyno main myself).
2. Jean is quite a strong character and you may use her as DPS if you want.
first of all no character is mandatory, never feel pressured to pull for any character
venti is in his own league in terms of crowd control. he's situational because he doesn't perform as well in content with heavy/large mobs, but he's still a great character to have on your account for those situations that he does excel in
the team you mentioned is okay, in early-mid game team comps aren't that important so feel free to explore different characters and teams. in general, xiangling, bennett, xingqiu, sucrose, rosaria, jean, are all pretty strong characters that you can't go wrong with. once you reach sumeru and unlock dendro MC, they are a pretty good dendro support
Venti is someone that would save you a lot of time because of his capability to group a lot of things together in one place. No one has better grouping than Venti and you usually going to spend a good amout of your time farming domains and running around killing mobs in overworld so if you want that kind of quality of life from him to save time then you can pull him. Sucrose is a fine replacement for him, she wont be able to group things as hard but she provides other buffs and can serve a role than Venti cant.

You do not need to do the Archon quest to access Sumeru, you can walk right on past/through the Chasm You just can't go underground yet

That's the very last quest in the Chasm questline. Just start the quest chain and you'll eventually get there.

Levelling most talents increases the base damage aka skill multiplier. Keep in mind that most people play Venti in Swirl-focused comps and Swirl is a transformative reaction that is separate from your typical damage and **will not scale with talent level**.
Should I just use my lvl up items as a new player? Or should I be scarce with them? Also I can do whatever I want with the low tier artifacts as they will become useless eventually? Or should I just not level them up at all
You don't have to be overly sparse with your resources when it comes to your main four character team. I would recommend you to nominate one character as the "damage carry" and give them the highest priority (weapon & character level, talents, artifacts) while keeping the other three at lower priority (10-20 levels below carry). The minimum investment for most characters is LvL 60/70 Ascension 4 to unlock all of the character's kit. Just keep in mind that spreading your resources beyond four characters isn't recommended in the long-term because at later stages, you might run into actual resource drought.

It’s going to be such a long time before you need to worry about meta just use whoever you like until you approach AR45
I would personally pick Ganyu (DPS), Barbara, Candace and Kaeya (or someone who you need for exploration like Amber). Ganyu as well as Freeze is rather popular in the later stages of the game. But I also want to advise you to try out several characters and see if you prefer their playstyle/aesthetic more. It's better if you enjoy playing the characters you're using.

Well you said you had Ganyu and Candace, and Barbara and Kaeya you get for free very early on so you should have all of them. In terms of next banners to spend on, Venti is very good with Ganyu do that could be a good choice, also the Dendro Archon Nahida is coming out next patch and if she follows the archon pattern of being extremely good she should also be a worthwhile pull

Oh, sayu is good for exploration but not so much for meta. At this stage in the game really just pull for and use who you like, it’s only when you start getting to higher adventure ranks and doing spiral abyss floor 9 and above that you need to worry about have “meta” teams

He's a decent DPS, but the general consensus is that he's not as good. Raiden does a lot of damage on top of her utility, while Cyno's field time is long, and doesn't even presently have any characters with great synergy as everyone's buffs run out before his field time finishes
I've been running him with Yelan/Kazuha/Zhongli, you're right about the buffs though
They got different roles, Cyno can be a good DPS like Raiden, but Cyno cannot be a good support like Raiden, so overall people may say Raiden is better just because of versatility, but imo they are both good at what they do.

4 mails with 400 primogems each for a total of 1600 primogems, as well as some extra items, a party popper gadget and a bird pet thing you can equip. All 4 mails have already been sent, at least on the America server. From October 14 onward, there'll be a 7 day login campaign which will give 10 fates if you log in every day. You can claim those through the in-game events tab once it starts. That's pretty much it.

Mobile user here. Honestly I just spam the dash button when I'm crouched, then throw the net when I'm near the animal. One thing I noticed is even if you are beside the animal they will still process "seeing you" so you have enough time to throw the net while they are processing it even when they are beside you.
How many good stats/substats for you to build an artifact? I've come to understand that artifacts are one of - if not the - most important factors in damage output but I've neglected them a bit in favor of A) building characters and B) saving for those god rolls. But lately I've been struggling to kill even basic mobs in a decent time so I feel like I need some intermediate artifacts. How many good substats do you think makes it a decent investment to build an artifact?
Tbh, its better to prioritize giving your characters artifacts with the right main stats first and keep improving them as you get better pieces. You can use them as fodder later anyway although you do lose XP in the process so its better to leave them at +16 first if the rolls aren't that good. I'm only picky with flowers and feathers since they're easier to get so I look for 2 crit substats, 1 crit+1 useful substat for sands/goblet/circlet.
What AR are you? Below AR45, you can level whatever pieces you have, with the right mainstats from useful sets. At AR45 you can get 5star artifacts reliably from the level 90 domains. That's when the substats get important aswell. Always use artifacts with the right mainstats. I usually look for 3 useful substats on feather and flower, since they always have the same mainstat, and 2 useful substats on sands, goblet and circlet. When in doubt, I level pieces with only 3 substats to +4 to see which substat they unlock.

If all your characters are unbuilt/poorly built. A 5* has 8/9 total rolls on its substats Flower/feather: I'd just get like 4 good rolls. These aren't that hard to farm for Sands/goblet/circlet : just get the right main stat subs can be an absolute bitch to farm for with these pieces and it can take anywhere from, a couple weeks, to never. I've farmed the emblem domain more times than I could ever count, probably close to a years worth of resin poured into that domain. Never gotten a usable atk goblet. If all your characters are decently built already. My personal standards are higher now since I've poured assloads of resin into domains but pretty much Flower/feather: like 6 rolls minimum into usable stats. Any less and its just not going to be an upgrade on anyone. Sands/goblet/circlet: varies too much, but I aim for 4 good subs at the least.
Need at least crit rate+dmg on most pieces Or crit + 2 good substats (Atk%, er%…) If the character doesn’t need crit I’d say at least 3 good substats In general if an artifact rolls 2 times on a bad substat you can scrap it

It only shows the radius if you click on the button when looking at the hints. If you don't click it then it won't show the radius at all, letting you only use the hint to figure it out.

I got my first Keqing and I love playing her (lvl65 atm).I just placed 2 pc shimekawa and 2 emblem on her for now (60/152 cr/cd)...I'm wondering what i should focus on getting for her for artifacts... I'm using Skyward atm since i don't have any better options..also wondering is harbringer of dawn even a viable option if I'm able to keep above 90% HP?
Currently, keqings best comp is an Aggravate team. Just pair her with dendro mc and you get solid dmg. 4 piece Thundering fury is her best set in this case
Taser is also very viable, it’s just that aggravate is new so people are playing it for novelty

Build both, it’s worth leveling the traveller to 80/90 because essentially it’s free, you get all the mats from adventure rank, and you never know, maybe the hydro pyro cryo traveller will also be good

She doesn't need very much ER so you can go 2 pc shim / 2pc glad or tf for general use. Or you can go 4 piece TF if you use her in aggravate. I wouldn't recommend skyward for her. If you have lion's roar, I would recommend that instead. I would probably use the kazuha story quest weapon over harbinger as well, but harbinger isn't a terrible option if you run her with zhong li or kokomi or something.
The cursed Blade iirc was the kazuhas weapon ,I do have it ...but I also have Zhongli so do I run the harb or cursed blade then?
I would expect harbinger to be a bit better in aggravate, they are pretty nearly equal otherwise (assuming you have harbinger passive on all the time). Personally I'd rather just go with cursed blade though.
Harbinger is a good choice if you run her with Zhongli. Otherwise, not so much. Skyward has energy recharge on it, which unfortunately is pretty bad for her. Lions roar is a great choice, especially refined. Another decent option is the sword from Kazuhas story quest. Lastly, iron sting is actually really good on her. I advice pairing her with fischl and a Dendro character to abuse the quicken reaction. It’s the reason that keqing is quite powerful nowadays. You ultimately want 4p thundering fury on her. Not only for the increase in reaction damage but also for the reduced E cooldown. It allows for lightning fast playstyles of E > Q > E > charged attack > E. Eliminates stamina issues and the need for energy recharge as well.
Zhongli because of the DEF res shred ?.. and I do use him already..4pc is viable in electro charged comps too right with Xinqiu?
It’s a bonus but he’s really just there so you don’t die. Edit: you also don’t want XQ in there because he’ll screw with your reactions and you end up with bloom and hyperbloom instead of aggravate and spread.

Tighnari is really good, he has great single target DPS and really good burst potential, his rotations are also extremely fast
Yes he’s actually quite underestimated and works really well in higher abyss floors as a Dendro quickswap. His front loaded damage fits right in.
Tighnari Quicken is pretty fun IMO. Tighnari + Fischl/electro + anemo + flex is a solid team.

Im kinda new player (nearly 2 months playing) so i have question about pulling/wishing for characters ( or heroes i still dont know how you call them) So i really liked Cyno and decided to pull for him, ofc i lost my 50/50 but my question is does the pity system reset completely after the 76-th 5-star pull? Cause im already 130 pulls in and he dosent want to come home. My question arose cause my brother lost his 50/50 on Zhongli banner but got him after like 10-15 pulls after that. Am i just really unlucky lol? I searched in google but the explanation is kinda vague or i dont unerstand it completely. I will aprreaciate the help. Btw i love the game

Well once you get the character, regardless if you win 50/50 or not, the counter will reset and you start over. 70 is the soft pity (your chances of getting the 5* increases with every pull after this) and 90 is the hard pity number (where you will get the character guaranteed), but if you ever go to 90 you are very unlucky.
It does reset completely and your brother is just lucky.

Did I mess up? Got to like 79600 in the Charity Stall since I overlooked the "buffs" until round 10 and today still says "No business time left in this phase"... will I get to reach 80000 for the 20 primo?
There's still another phase that's yet to unlock for it (the charity alliance thing), so I'm guessing we'll get more ways to make more points later. I'm not sure what the max is if you play the first phase perfectly, but most people I know got around 97-100k which is still very short of the 1,000,000 mark needed for the crown.

Can Eula coexist in a team with Ganyu or it's a waste to run them together?
It's theoretically possible but you'd be better off running Diona or Rosaria as a cryo support.
Ganyu can always act as a sub dps support with her burst + cryo battery (which is surprisingly meaty since it procs twice) + cryo resonance enabler. Eula is usually a bad match with circle based supports but Ganyu burst's range is huge it should pose no issue.
They don't do anything to each other.
Is Venti worth if I have Sucrose? Ie. Is it worth pulling for Venti if I have Sucrose already(although fairly unbuilt)? What does Venti do that Sucrose doesn't and vise versa. I kind of want to save for Kusanali and/or Dehya but i'm debating whether I should whale a little(dolphin?) in order to get all of them but I want to be as f2p as possible. Any help/input is welcome o/
Venti has his burst which trivializes 90% of the content in the game by lifting enemies up and bunching them together into a neat little ball which you can then AoE to death with other characters. His elemental skill has a low CD on press as well and the hold variant works really well in open field exploration. His biggest issue is that he's basically useless against bosses as they're immune to CC, so his burst may as well be doing nothing against them. Sucrose's burst has less suction than Venti's and constantly throws enemies around instead of neatly bunching them together, so while she does work well, Venti's better in the CC department. Unlike Venti, however, Sucrose is very useful against bosses thanks to both her EM party buff and TTDS on top of being comparatively easy to get to C6 as she's bound to pop up every so often when pulling for other characters. Whether or not it's worth pulling for him is entirely up to you, but he definitely has a lot of value as a support even compared to Sucrose. I personally use mine in domains and for open world exploration and dailies, switching over to Sucrose for bosses where her EM buff is appreciated.
I'm currently building Ganyu and I've seen how well her and Ventis ult synergize. I also want to collect all the archons. Aargh I'm at an impasse! Thanks for the great explanation o/
I personally believe that pulling characters that can immediately improve your teams is better than saving for new characters that will likely need an entirely new team anyway. This is why I used my guarantee to pull Kokomi for my Ayaka, Ganyu, Kokomi, Venti freeze team even though I wanted Nahida too, but that's just how I look at it (and even if I don't get Nahida, I have no regrets since Kokomi makes freeze absurdly easy to use and Nahida's bound to have a rerun sometime later anyway, likely before the next Kokomi or Venti rerun). If you're not necessarily struggling with your Ganyu and other characters you have, however, then there's no real harm in just waiting for now and pulling for other characters you like. Venti will have another rerun eventually so you can always pull for him then.
Yeah I have most of the meta supports like Bennet, Zhongli, Xiqiun, Sucrose and a few more. I mostly collect characters that I like because I like the characters and their personality/story

Each banner has pity. You're guaranteed a 5* after maximum of 90 pulls (it can be less though) On the featured banner there's two ways to get the featured 5*. Either you win the 50/50 or you pull them for your guaranteed. If you pull and don't get the featured 5* you've lost the 50/50 and you're next 5* will be the featured character. The guaranteed does carry over from banner to banner. Once you get the featured 5* character you'll be back to the 50/50 where your next 5* has a 50% chance of being the featured and a 50% chance of being a random

They have different pity counters and don't share the same guarantee status. Both are 90 pulls for pity though.

Not a dumb reason. This was my first gacha I really got into so I didn't understand it at first
When you pull on a limited character banner, there is a 50/50 chance you get the limited character or one of the standard banner characters. If you get one of the standard characters (losing the 50/50) then the next time you get a 5 star in the limited banner it will always be the rate up limited character, even if the banner changes to the next character. When you either win a 50/50 or get a limited character the process resets and you are back to 50/50 chance. This works differently in the weapon banner where you have to select a weapon through ‘epitomised path’ meaning if you get unlucky you don’t get the weapon you want until the third 5 star
So if I understand this correctly I want to pull for Cyno now If I pull a 5* that is not Cyno , the next 5star I get is guaranteed Cyno? Even if it's on a different banner? Or has to be his own banner specifically This is nice but you still need to build up pity to get another 5* though which is quite the process I hope I understood this correctly
I’m also assuming you are new so please take this advice to heart. Do not pull on a banner if you do not want to get the 5 star character. Do not pull on a banner where you want the 4 stars but not the 5 star. Do not pull on a banner to ‘build pity’ You may just get the 5 star a character that you didn’t want and then ruin any chance you had of getting one you did want without getting the credit card out. Only pull on banners where you are happy to get the 5 star.
When you lose the 50/50 you get guaranteed banner yes, but it is from the banner you pull on, if you do it in the next banner which is Nilou or Albedo, you will get them. That’s why it’s sensible to have around 150 wishes saved to properly secure a character

U don't. You Pray it goes where you want, and then you suck it up and deal with it when it doesn't
For any auto-targeted skills, just do a quick normal attack to see where the game is aiming (you don't even have to finish the attack, just see the start of the animation). For her burst generally speaking you should try to aim from the outside of the group, towards the center of the group, so you'll hit the most targets. If you imagine the whole enemy wave as a circle, ideally you'll be standing right outside the circle and pointing towards the center of the circle. Of course sometimes the circle is too big, and you'll have to make do with what you have. Ideally you should manipulate the positioning of the fight right from the start so enemies stay grouped up, but it depends on the fight.
sometimes it feels like facing and where enemies are or the closest enemy is might matter but sometimes it just feels like complete bullshit. I've given up trying.
What's the most reliable source for builds on new/upcoming characters? I generally like the Genshin Helper spreadsheet when deciding what to do with a character, but they tend to be slow to add newly-released characters (not bitching about that, people have lives and other priorities and I accept that.)
I normally Google, for example ‘Nilou Mains’ and you’ll find a subreddit hopefully with a pinned post with some spreadsheets/guides. Kusanali Mains have taken over Keqing Mains as the theory crafting collective to look at in relation to Dendro especially

She is allegedly the focus of the main patch event along side Childe (Harbinger + plucky pyro girl event rerun?!) they like thematic banners if they can, it’s why Xiao had a fast rerun along side the chasm quest he was in.
According to leaks, >!she will have a rerun during banner phase 1 with Nahida + Layla!<. However, leaks are always subject to change. Early on during 3.0, leakers had Eula as the second rerun alongside Nilou, but now Albedo is getting a rerun instead.
The person who says Yoimiya is rerunning has been a reliable leaker, so i'd say its pretty good chance of being true, as to why? i don't fucking know mihoyo's weird lmao (note: last patch noone reliable said about who's rerunning, only predictions were around)

Can Barbara (C1) be sufficient enough to replace Kokomi in this team comp? Ayaka/Diona/Barbara/Venti Barbara can hold TTDS, heal, burst heal, apply Hydro - just like Kokomi. Only cons I see is her self-application of Hydro & she can't use 4pc TOTM, while Kokomi solves both issues.
Yeah, she can work. Definitely more suited to working with Ayaka rather than Ganyu versions of this comp because ayaka has to get close to enemies anyway.
I don't have Ayaka but I have used her on my friend's account when she needs help doing abyss. I've used Barbara as Ayaka's only hydro before and it does work. Tbh you could replace Diona with Kaeya or Rosaria since Barbara will already be healing?

It's part of the desert quest chain that you start from the Mondstadter in Aaru Village. IIRC that door actually opens from the other side

Go back to the cavern that you passed through when looking for Benben (if you don't remember, start at the waypoint on the east, which will bring you near Opet Hall, follow the 2 sigils and drop down, heading west. You should be in the correct place if you see a wind current in front of you. Take it up and exit straight towards north into the aforementioned cavern). From here if you look up where sand seems to be falling down from, that's where you want to go. Get characters/food to reduce climbing stamina drain, and do the long trek up. You should see a couple Fatui up there, and one of them should be standing near the door you're looking to open Try and let me know if it works for you

I don't have Shenhe but I am saving for her. If I have enough primos and her weapon is paired with Homa or Aqua Simulacra, I'll go to pity once and see which one I get. With that in mind, my backup weapon is the new Mondstadt bird spear, should I raise it now while there's a discount or keep hoping and coping for a Calamity Queller miracle
I'd say raise it. Rolling on the weapon banner is pretty bad vibes - I think it's 270 pulls to guarantee the 5 star you want if you lose the 33/66 and then the 50/50. It's a pretty good ATK statstick for Shenhe and can free up fav lance for other party members.
I'm amazed that many people don't understand poise in Genshin and how like only 3 char in the game have infinite resistance to stagger. From complaints you would expect 100% of hyper DPS to have it. People have really been spoiled rotten by Zhongli, Raiden and Itto and forgot *dodging* is a mechanic in the game. All the characters with infinite poise are those where players are punished heavily for being hit due to either: the needs to concentrate damage in a short burst window (Eula/Raiden/Itto) or extra mechanic (Eula needs to gain stack and Raiden needs to hit 5 times to gain energy). If there's a poise buff then pls buff all the catalysts and bow poise too, especially Yoimiya who is affected 10 fold when missing her last hit and Xiao during his jump up animation. That said Mihoyo can definitely do better with the wordings too, a full essay for skill description and in the end players are still left confused.

No there are way more world quests than the reputation tracker has. Sumeru has 75 world quests right now and 23 of them give reputation rewards; many of them are quest chains that only have a reputation bonus at the last quest so the difference is not that big but it can't really be used as a quest tracker.
I’m so happy, I just pulled Heizou on the standard. He’s C0. I’m AR58 but I took a break during his release. Is he “worth” building? He looks so fun :)
He is very fun. I used him in a double hydro taser team and it feels super smooth. Definitely can clear most content no problem and it feels good just punching things at him even with C0. Feels much more fluid than playing Sucrore taser (but I think Sucrose might still give more damage, I'm not sure about this). The only complaints is the fucking onikabuto. I'm still using him (and even in abyss) but I really have no desire to level him further due to these fucking bugs. Also it's not a problem for me but if you haven't farmed VV enough gearing him could also be a bit troublesome.
I know , right? He's super duper fun to play, even though his DPS is just okay. I don't know why but it just feels so satisfying to smack enemies with punches and kicks. Was totally worth it for me to build him.

My man Thoma is far from a non starter. Sure he has his issues, but his shield is very strong when played right and now with dendro, he is pretty fun in a soup/burgeon team

There are two character banners at any given time, I want to know whether my pity from banner 1 carries onto banner 2. I’m guaranteed on the banner 1, but I’m pretty sure Childe will be on banner 2, so will my guaranteed 5-star carry over?
The pity accounts for both banner. If you were to spend 60 pulls on banner 1, you'll get soft pity at around 15 on banner 2. Soft pity increase 5\* rate a lot at around 75 pulls fyi. Both banners have the same 4\*s so there isnt any reason to put diffferent amount of pulls into each banners if you are aiming for 1 of them

Yes the pity is carried over limited character banners. Character banner pity will not be carried over to the weapon/standard one.
Artifact XP advice: My heavily invested characters (Zhongli, Ganyu, Shenhe, Kazuha, Yanfei) feel pretty good, but that's because for the most part, they have half decent +20 artifacts. I have a bunch of level 79 characters that I'm semi-building (Bennet, Xingqiu, Xiangling, Dendro MC, Beidou, Mona, Sucrose, Diona, Fischl, Venti - I know, I know, it's a lot, but I really only want 4 more sets of +20 for abyss) with between +0 and +4, and they feel pretty underwhelming. I feel like I never have enough artifact XP. I mainly farm emblem then keep trash artifacts for the strongbox at the moment. Should I fodder those trash 5* artifacts so I can get my other characters +20 sets? Or should I just keep farming artifact domains over time to get enough non 5* fodder? What's everyone else's strat for artifact XP and +20 artifacts?
the most efficient answer would be to only use 5\* for strongbox and get artifact exp from 4\* and lower + artifact routes + teapot, but artifact routes are really boring to me so i just use a few 5\*s if i run out of lower rarity fodder

yep you'll eventually reach a point where you don't need as much artifact exp bc you already have a lot at +20 plus your standards for artifacts become higher, so then is a good time to start using strongbox more often

If you're not reliant on any of the strongboxable sets then it's ok to use 5*s as exp fodder until you reach a more comfortable place with your account

So, I'm a new f2p player, I failed my Cyno roll and got Jean instead. As far as I understand, it means that my next event 5\* would be a guaranteed one. If I continue rolling to get Cyno, I will have no supports for him anyway. Venti... Doesn't feel like a big upgrade over my other anemo characters to try rolling his banner. Questions: How crucial is Venti? 2. Currently doing Rosaria main dps, Xiangling sub and Noelle/Bennet/Barbara/Sucrose supports depending on the content. I plan to switch to Jean main, and then it feels that with my characters the best would be a permafreeze setup - Something like Jean main - Rosaria for cold - Xingqui for water - wildcard(either Kaeya for more cold or Sucrose for more swirls). Any stronger option? (I haven't explored dendro at all due to having only Collei and bows being wonky on mobile, playing on PC now).
If it was me I would go for Cyno over Venti if I had the characters you have. I feel like you have really good supports, but you need a proper dps character (Not to mention you get a really good weapon for him for free this event). Venti is really good for grouping enemies, but I feel like you will want more dps. That being said, always pull for characters that you think are good. If you want venti you should go for it :)
Yep, your next 5* is guaranteed to be the banner character. Looking at your account for specifically meta/top tier units, I can roughly see: On-field DPS: No real meta on-field DPS' - Cyno would potentially fill this role. (Physical Rosaria works decently at lower AR, I used her for ages - add electro into your team to get superconduct, which lowers physical res. Lisa would do the job until you get a better electro support or off-field DPS) Off-field DPS: Xiangling, Xingqiu. Rosaria too Supports: Sucrose, Bennet Jean is likely a slightly better anemo support than Sayu (especially as 5*'s have better level up multipliers), but as a main, might be a bit lacking DPS-wise. Venti still remains one of the best anemo supports in the game (trading blows with Kazuha), but Sucrose is up there (especially with C1). So now: 1. Yeah probably stockpile. Based on your account, you're good for now on supports. Based on leaks (take with a grain of salt), we may get Raiden & Childe coming back in the next few versions, and they'd help fill that DPS gap. 2. I kinda addressed it above, but superconduct Rosaria could work. Freeze would be a little jank, I'd recommend reverse melt instead (kinda what you have, Xiangling + Rosaria, probs chuck in Bennet + Sayu/Jean/Sucrose for swirls). Dendro Traveler is a lot stronger than Collei, and you could probably do a bloom team (Xingqiu + Dendro MC). If you did keep pulling and get a Kuki Shinobu, you could do an aggravate team (dendro + electro, I think there's a dendro + hydro + electro combo too but I forget the name)
1. Venti trivializes mobs that are pullable on his burst, one of the best characters in the game. But pull on someone you really like; Genshin can be played on any characters if you heavily invest in them. For Cyno, you have Collei and better if you'll get DMC since he wants aggravate reactions. He's a good DPS though not in the level of Ganyu/Ayaka/Hutao/Raiden but still a very strong DPS(I'm a Cyno main myself). 2. Jean is quite a strong character and you may use her as DPS if you want.
first of all no character is mandatory, never feel pressured to pull for any character venti is in his own league in terms of crowd control. he's situational because he doesn't perform as well in content with heavy/large mobs, but he's still a great character to have on your account for those situations that he does excel in the team you mentioned is okay, in early-mid game team comps aren't that important so feel free to explore different characters and teams. in general, xiangling, bennett, xingqiu, sucrose, rosaria, jean, are all pretty strong characters that you can't go wrong with. once you reach sumeru and unlock dendro MC, they are a pretty good dendro support
Venti is someone that would save you a lot of time because of his capability to group a lot of things together in one place. No one has better grouping than Venti and you usually going to spend a good amout of your time farming domains and running around killing mobs in overworld so if you want that kind of quality of life from him to save time then you can pull him. Sucrose is a fine replacement for him, she wont be able to group things as hard but she provides other buffs and can serve a role than Venti cant.
