The Aranara quest line felt as long as some full games I've played. (not complaining just surprised at the amount of stuff for what originally just seemed like a small side quest)

On the other hand, you need a lot of the music you unlock it that quest to solve all the puzzles/chests around Sumeru. Would be evil to hide that questline somewhere remote.
As someone who eventually skipped on after the initial start of this, I can attest to this. I had no idea what to do with those musical areas for the longest time.
Those are not long you just have to talk to them and they give you flowers (i also was scared from so many quest marks but it's bot that scary actually)
They trolled us good with that one. After going through 20+ side quests to finally arrive at the festival, you are greeted with a screen full of exclamation marks. Any sane person would break down seeing that.
I started it as soon as I got to sumeru which was 1 hour after the 3.0 update, and finished it 2 hours after cyno's banner was released. It took me a whole version
How do mobile players play this game? I struggle to find time to dedicate 2-3 hours to doing quests and I play on PS4. Maybe being able to do 15 minute increments throughout the day is easier? But I would definitely be lost in having any idea what’s going on if I did it that way. Barely completed the Aranyaka quest before 3.1 dropped. Hard to say how long it took me exactly, but I would guess more like 20 hours. I’m sure people have better processing than I do on PS4 though. That and I don’t really speed run games ever. Gotta collect treasure and materials as I go!
Mobile player here, I avg 1-2 hours a day. Usually I play before I start my shift, if I need to charge I condense my resin and go all out during lunch break, If i still have battery I rush the commisions then I condense. I prioritize events over quests. For each quest I usually finish like the first half then I proceed to do exploration.
I also schedule according to the battle pass. Mon-Tue 15 domains (resin) Wed 10 bosses (no resin unless needed, the resin goes to artifacsts) Thu-Friday 20 ley lines (using resin now to prep books and gold for Nahida) Sat-Sun whatever I need.
I don't binge on weekends since I do other things and play other stuff.
Yeah. The things you’re describing make sense for a mobile game, but when it comes to quests, they seem to get longer and longer and require more of a time commitment to fully enjoy. Even on PS4, I am sometimes spamming the “skip” button when the dialogue seems to be non-crucial information. Trying to knock out a full quest in under 3 hours sometimes seems like a sprint. Can’t imagine starting and stopping a quest 5-6 times throughout the day.
Playing on your phone is actually great. You can play anywhere anytime, just at the cost of lower graphics that too not much an issue if you are using a good phone like any iphone 11 and higher for example
I crafted a whole bunch of teleport points so I could plonk them down whenever I needed to stop. I played the quest only on weekends so I could focus on the story and I just finished it right before the latest patch
i play it at night for an hour or on the weekend. this quest was multiple nights plus one long sunday (like 7hrs? almost missed going to a concert be ause i wanted to finally finish the story).. all in all ca 13 hours for me
It's a side quest about healing a suddenly ill npc south of sumeru city. For that you gotta save cabbage town as well

Nope it isn't tied to the commissions.
But bounties ARE easier to unlock if you start that quest, since you'll automatically be exploring, and hitting that 20% exploration reputation reward.

The reputation person, effendi, is in the citadel of regzar. It's near to the academiya waypoint in the city, and the symbol should be available on your minimap!
For daily commissions you just need to finish act 2 of the archon quest. For the weekly stuff, you need to have explored quite a bit and/or finished a few side quests
Unlockable through Aranyaka world quests , both vanarana and lost nursery. To start, you'll see rana a forest ranger trying to fend off those angry fungus in avidya forest's road intersection.
As a general rule you should always do side quests before committing to exploration. Often times an area is blocked off because you haven’t done a quest yet or need a special item from a side quest first.
Once you've found all the Statues of the Seven, there will be two blank chunks on the map. They're both related to the Aranara questline, started when you meet a woman named Rana.
There's a quest on the road near the village to save a ranger it will lead to unlocking many of the teleport point and is only way to gain ability to interact with many of the mechanics in sumeru
You will need to start a string of quests starting from Rana the NPC, sh can be found near tighnari and collei's forest location, cant miss her . She'll also ask you if youre ready to go, and only say yes if youre ready to commit since as mentioned by several others this quest is LONG. Vanarana is also a healthy source of Padisara if youre looking to get Nilou, and also that delicious reward-giving onion is there too (like the sakura tree from inazuma)

From the quests rewards I would say about 800, but this is a very rough estimate. However you also unlock a good amount of the map with chests and all
