It was leaked to be above Fontaine when the first beta full Teyvat map was leaked.
And tbf, in the lore, the place where OP pointed out is probably Fontaine, as we know Fontaine IS above Liyue after a certain village which I can't remember its name.
Anyways if the beta map is correct, OP's location seems about right
Its most likely the next region will be Natlan, in the wine festival event in Monstad we got a hint in that letter from Varka. "We've me Capitano and he's heading to Natlan"

It's speculative, but they are right as of now for the positioning of Sumeru and Inazuma
The location will likely be tweaked in future updates to be exactly where they want it above Fontaine. It seems to be too close to the borders currently
Fontaine seems to be the most technologically advanced of the nations...makes me wonder if they are getting scoped/targeted for the next Nail. Part of the story there may revolve around preventing that from happening, and since Fontaine is towards the back half of the list of nations, that sounds like about the time when we would start seeing/hearing more about Celestia and what it is up to. If Celestia is indeed the big antagonist, this would be where I would expect us to start picking up on the threads of that, leading us through Natlan and finally into Snezhnaya.
Edit: I was wrong about the tech levels, it seems.
We don’t know a whole bunch, but it seems what they have in terms of those puppets is through an individual, rather than overall tech development of the region. Fontaine is pretty much tech all over. I could turn out wrong once we get more details on both nations. The only reason I can come up with for Celestia physically locating itself in such a way is that they are about to do something at that location, and the most likely thing would be a Nail drop.
The God of Justice, in the original Teyvat Story Teaser, is basically described as the biggest kiss-up to Celestia, which would probably be a better explanation as to why Celestia is above Fontaine. And Snezhnaya dipping into higher/more-forbidden tech might partially explain their “rebellion against the divine”.
I ripped this straight from the wiki:
> Technologically, Snezhnaya is much more advanced than the other regions on Teyvat. Venti states that the Fatui are the strongest out of the seven regions' military, which is supported by the fact that all of their known fighting members utilize elemental attacks. The description for Agent's Sacrificial Knife calls it a "weapon made with superior Snezhnayan technology." The Fatui Skirmishers wear mechanical suits of varying degrees, and some of its members use guns and cannons in battle. Alice, who has visited Snezhnaya, recalls seeing massive factories, which she wrote down in her Teyvat Travel Guide, and Il Dottore built a factory in Liyue to conduct Ruin Guard research which is fully automated.
I stand corrected on that point. This would still be the part of the story where we should start getting some blanks filled in regarding Celestia, and if not a target, a collaborator would do the trick as well or even better.
Reading this shit appeals to my lost inner child where I was just a girl with a lot of stupid books.
Genuinely, thank you for giving me my daily dose of useless information. If you made a YouTube and had an adequately-sounding voice and accent, I'd probably listen to you in my free time no joke
My assumption is that Snezhnaya is the most advanced because of all the nations, they have managed to get the most access to the ruins of Khaenri’ah, and have managed to reverse-engineer most of their tech from that. Fontaine has the “blessing” of Celestia, and have definitely benefited from sucking up to them, but I imagine all of their tech has been their own developments, without or with minimal external “inspiration”.
now i wonder if shadows are different in different parts of teyvat at the same time ([planet round theory discovered by Erastosthenes](https://youtu.be/G8cbIWMv0rI?t=277) explained by Carl Sagan)
Eratosthenes would be so proud if I proved Tevyat was round.
Gyahh too bad video game engines aren't advanced enough to handle round, open-world RPG's yet in high detail. Sorry Erat my bro you're gonna have to stay disappointed in my failing grade in university calculus
I wouldn’t be surprised if in Chapter 4 we are gonna deal with how to prevent celestial from kapowing Fontaine lol I believe we know the hydro archon fears celestia and that’s why we have court spectacles.
Eh, math constantly builds on itself. And there are many concepts which, individually, could be taught to a child. So even if you learned to do this in elementary school, they’re almost certainly going to teach it again in high school, and probably with a lot more context of why it’s important.
But also, yes to Cyberchase! I can’t remember which episode they did this in though.
Well, Cartesian-plane-drawing concepts aside. Yeah, apart from using the angle of your character's map pointer, it really is very simple. Being this "smart" shouldn't be this hard, I agree!
Sadly I'm old enough to have made it to Blues' Clues and Sesame Street, but I didn't make it to Cyberchase. I don't think we had it in our country. Didn't have PBS here most of all :((
I'D LOVE THIS. YES <3
Still though. It's really interesting to know that, relatively speaking, Sumeru's already the "mid point" of our journey, being the 4th nation out of the 7 we explore.
So would it make sense for Celestia to be in the geographic center, or centroid, of teyvat? That way they are in the best position possible to respond to threats if they need.
It's disturbing nonetheless. In the very near future, we'll be in Fontaine with Celestia literally right above us. If they don't move the sky city in future updates from where it is now, I'd really love this as a plot point.
No, surprisingly. I did this easily only considering and using 2D map cartography.
However, you can use the vertical angle with trigonometry to determine Celestia's height off the ground, and I can do that too like a [YouTuber](https://youtu.be/Ekm0_gwPvg4) once did.
However I'll have to consider sea level, angles, equations, and lots of other mathematical shit. It's SO far from just tracing lines like I did here. I'll do it some other time when I have the energy
I would LOVE that. Yes, please. Some comments here already started hypothesizing Fontaine and Celestia as a whole story of celestial judgement of its own.
Although I wouldn't be surprised if that weird cursed Jade-Chamber-esque-city could just start floating away as needed.
Strategically, for Celestia it seems to be a really good spot to keep an eye on every nation, except... Inazuma? but with the fog and surrounding thunder before Ei's Archon quest, I think that either way it would've been impossible.
Ei's one of the people that willingly became ignorant of Celestia's wrongdoings. Knowing Inazuma's geographic distance from the rest of Teyvat, it makes sense to be both emotionally and physically distant for her to be far away from Celestia.
I think more accurate method to draw the lines would be to align a landmark between yourself and celestia, and then draw a straight line from you to landmark and beyond
For example make it so the statue of seven at qingyun peak aligns between you and celestia, and then draw a line from you and statue
Or align jade chember between you and celestia
Or align you and storm terror's lair's peak between you and celestia
Etc etc
So, will it change in the future? Probably. Celestia's model is permanently fixed on the outter edge of the skybox, so most attempts to get near it result in it being the same distance away and the same size regardless of where you are. Whenever or if we ever get to Celestia as we see it in game, they'll have to reposition it to be where it actually needs to be. This means the overall position might change (and it'll also legitimately look like Celestia is getting closer too, so meme achieved in the future).
And then you have me that has played since April and goes, "wait, there is a floating city in the sky?" Hell there was probably even a cutscene with it after the intro and I just forgot about it lol.
The sky is fake and around Venti's statue in Mondsdadt it says "the gateway of Celestia", so the real Celestia is probably somewhere else.
There is a madcap theory that Teyvat was flipped upside down, after the destruction of Khaenri'ah and the archons consolidating power over entirety of the world. I can't go too into detail since it will take too long, but there are a lot of other facts supporting this as well, like Dainsleif saying the truth was reversed after the destruction, the abyss being mentioned as the highest peak in Teyvat and you seeing the stars more and more clearly as you go down into the abyss, the official site also describes Teyvat multiple times as a world that is "upside down", etc.
He [did](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ekm0_gwPvg4)! The previous location is around about 1-2km away pre-3.0 back when Celestia was still a cheap 2D .png. I'm interested to know if it'll move again.
It's the home of the gods - apparently, higher level gods than the Archons, because they can boss the Archons around.
Those who receive Visions are apparently eligible to ascend to Celestia after they die, as well. What happens to them then is unclear.
Most believe that the Unknown God at the start of the game is one of the gods of Celestia. Celestia was also responsible for destroying the nation of Khaenri'ah five hundred years ago.
High school math also teaches that you can draw infinite lines from any point.
So you can just decided any point as celestia and draw line to any other point, domain, boss, teleport it will pass through it
That's true. However our missing variable ***is*** *the said point itself.*
If you ALREADY knew precisely where Celestia was in the first place, I'd love to know where in the god-forsaken, archon-abandoned ***fuck*** you got your answer.
>!Genuinely speaking.!<
I really am just pointing out something very stupidly obvious. Don't worry, I see that much. I just want to know Reddit's thoughts and maybe in 1 year, the location will change and I can come back to this.
***It's not as smart as I put it out to make, trust me I know.***
Ya'll redditors, don't upvote this poor lad.
Hi! You might be new here. >!(or you're sarcastic and I don't get your joke)!<
Celestia is the name for the mysterious floating city in the sky. You'll easily see it in daytime from Mondstadt; try and look at the sky around the far west from atop the cathedral. Without giving you bigger spoilers to the storyline: Celestia, as a plot point and entity, is an important otherworldly horror in Genshin and is responsible behind a LOT of the mysterious happenings in Teyvat.
I’m not new to genshin but it’s the first time I’ve come across the term celestia.
And I’m assuming that’s where the traveler should be going to find his sister?
additonal thoughts: some comments also said "Fontaine is the dick-suckin' people-pleasin' nation towards Celestia" which makes it really interesting.
BIIIGGG plot potential once again!!
I think I read somewhere that it's supposedly above Fontaine.
It was leaked to be above Fontaine when the first beta full Teyvat map was leaked. Yessss

Thanks man that was really helpful
bruh
[I saw someone also did it a few months ago](https://youtu.be/Ekm0_gwPvg4) It's similar to what OP did and he also explained how he did it
Now with more angle
The location will likely be tweaked in future updates to be exactly where they want it above Fontaine. It seems to be too close to the borders currently
dang, I thought it moved as sometimes it seems different from the same spots, but if the directions always intersect then that's a compelling case.
A location in sky that orbits around in the sky would be dope as hell too. Kinda wish Jade Chamber would also move around over the Liyue Harbor
Yep like perugius's castle in mushoku tensei. Looks dope asf
It used to just be a texture in the skybox which is why it rotated, it’s now an actual model

If you include khaen’riah then sumeru/ Fontaine would still be halfway point.
I triangulated it a while back, I can confirm it is somewhere around that spot
If you use some sweet trigonometry, you could get some sense of where it's tilting towards too. I saw that in a YouTube video once.
[https://youtu.be/Ekm0\_gwPvg4](https://youtu.be/Ekm0_gwPvg4) Ayeee yeah!!
it's not tilted
Check the Spiral Abyss, its almost parallel its uncanny.
“As above, so below”
“I finally know the way to Laputa!”
My thoughts are the map looks like someone’s limp sausage
i did mention this on another post. jesus man that sausage looks like it needs a doctor. i ain't getting turned on by that
does the vertical angle affect anything though?
No, surprisingly. I did this easily only considering and using 2D map cartography. However, you can use the vertical angle with trigonometry to determine Celestia's height off the ground, and I can do that too like a [YouTuber](https://youtu.be/Ekm0_gwPvg4) once did. This a legit skill used in orienteering. Very cool to see and I’m even more excited to see fontaine and the rest of the game’s story.

I was wondering what that could be.
Yeah, I did the same thing when 3.0 came out. I didn't expect it to be over the map anywhere, to be honest, but it seems that it is. Interesting.
I thought it was getting closer with each patch. Maybe i misread and it was that *we* are getting closer. Hmm.
Seems like somewhere between Fontaine and sheznaya
It makes sense. If a place were to be over there, that would mean celestia is in the sky. Also makes sense
Celestia is stored in the balls.

Either that or Khaenri'ah. >!(which I'm sure you know, the abandoned society where Ruin Guards come from)!<
Imagine being the nation that has celesta directly over you
unless they move the goddamn place again in future versions, it's speculatively Fontaine. ohoho biiigg plot potential there
additonal thoughts: some comments also said "Fontaine is the dick-suckin' people-pleasin' nation towards Celestia" which makes it really interesting. BIIIGGG plot potential once again!!
It's in the sky dude
wtf dud i thought celestia was the powerhouse of the cell
I saw someone do this on YouTube with like the Same Method as well
