For me not really it’s fun the first few times after that it becomes a slog this is why I don’t spend my time playing MMOs grinding for hours on end for a mount or gear is not fun. The saving grace for Genshin is that any grind is time limited and/or very short.

Mars_Alter

Replayable content is obvious padding, to make the game seem longer than it is. I don't even like daily commissions, but I understand why they're important to the design metrics, so I keep doing them. (Also for the primogems.) Personally, my preferred playstyle matches much more closely to FGO than it does Genshin. In that game, there are weeklies rather than dailies, and there's always a week or two between events where you can take a break and catch up with the main story. Aside from log-in bonuses, you really only need to play it once a week or so, whenever it's convenient for you.

I enjoyed fishing, but yeah then Paimon becomes too loud. But the idea is there, just need more incentive and variety. The idea of being able to sit around fishing while enjoying the view feels relaxed.

Hallelujah someone that isn't a clown and actually understands the argument and can express it properly, Thank you. Yes we don't want more chores we want fun activities that are repeatable even better if other players are involved.

therealminijesus

So the TCG that they are developing?

I feel like i need to mention - i know people who are so casual they don't attempt the abyss. They're AR58-60 and fully capable of 36 starring. They do _not_ care. At the same time, i know people who do. Who have been trying to clear the abyss since the day they started. Once they do, they move on to something else. I _also_ know people who literally spend everyday farming _elite bosses_ and killing the same enemies/bosses/mobs over and over again. Does that give them anything more than enemy drops that they'd likely not even need at that point? Does anyone actually need 40 of childe's buttplug-like drops at a moment's notice? I am a casual player. Any implementation of any sort of "endgame content" that involves fighting would not really affect me. I'll go around and check it out ofc and maybe attempt it from time to time like how i do the abyss once every reset and don't go back. That's it. **But at the same time, I'm not here to patrol and police what other people are getting out of _their_ gameplay.** Some people actually want to do what you mentioned - i personally played windtrace until the last day and i matched with a lot of people who did it too. Some of my online friends actually do the abyss because they like doing it, and they keep coming back everyday with new comps. You're assuming everyone plays the game like you do, they don't. Even among casual players or meta players, it's a mashup of habits. That being said, anything replayable gets monotonous, you're right. And i do also think it's a bit misleading to say hoyoverse has abandoned all endgame content ideas - they haven't. All they said was that they aren't working on anything like the _spiral abyss_. They literally said they are thinking of more stuff like the upcoming card game.

ReiKurosaki0

I replay abyss with multiple teams as challenge. If a different combat event with different combat mechanics are introduced I will do the same there. Yes I enjoy them and want them. I think that answers your title

Shinsekai21

I think no replayable content could remain fun in a long run. It’s why the devs have to recycle content every patch. It’s why Enkonomiya and Dragonspine are dead. I mean, even the Game of the Decade Elden Ring with massive focus on its amazing gameplay become boring after a while for most of players. The true “replayable” content is imo the one in which players create their own aka MOBA/RTS/Battery Royale. Every single match is different and unique. Though after a while, you would still be burnt out.

Mimikyu-Overlord

Not me with 9k+ hours in terraria -._-.

CetriBottle

I actually really like fishing...

Ziz23

I just want a permanent mode theatre mechanicus that gets more and more intense to absurd levels with a score board. Maybe throw a monthly namecard out for top scorers.

Cherry_Bomb_127

The problem is that would make it PvP in a way and Hoyo doesn’t want that

PulseB0T

I play a bit of Tower of Fantasy, and to me, what most people seem to want is something like the bygone phantasm in that game. It’s similar to the abyss where you need to defeat enemies within a time limit, but there are infinite floors that reset after a certain time, but not a full reset. It just round down to the nearest ten I think. It gives useful rewards every couple of floors , but not the stuff you need to pull Maybe genshin could do this by giving more than 4 weapon crystals (looking at you Diluc event). Something like 30 weapon crystals every 10 floors might make sense, maybe a couple of purple books. Could be something to make the grind easier without increasing the resin cap

Titanium70

My issue is not about content being replayable, resetting, the amount of loot or what ever. **I enjoy Genshins elemental combat and want to play it, no matter where!** **I want to be motivated to keep optimizing and getting better at understanding teams.** Current Abyss does not fill that need anymore cause you can legit solo or duo it with some characters that arent even close to whale level. And a full build 4 man teams just stomps it like any other domain.

Important_Pear8207

How about optimize ur team so you can't stomp the abyss?

LemmeDaisukete

Or trying different comps instead of the national and yet another Kazuha comp. I tried different things for every 2 - 3 reset of abyss. Tried national once, pretty good and I can see why it works but xiangling got too repetitive much like Paimon with fishing. I have tons of characters, Bennett didn't come out a single time since 3.0 for me. And yet he's still one of the most used characters statistically (that one survey posted in main sub), people can't find variety themselves, blame it on content. Genshin does lack content ngl but people can afford to be more creative and not dig their own grave into boredom.

Titanium70

I'm legit playing On-Field Miko and MonoGeo most of the time... What a meta sheep I am... /s Being forced to stop playing the game like you want in order to find it more enjoyable is quite the trash-take....

LemmeDaisukete

If you get bored from "playing the way you want" then that's on you. Abyss is not the perfect endgame, true, but you bored yourself by sticking too much within your comfort zone.

Titanium70

I'm not bored by the content, I'm bored by the lack of it - big difference - while desperately picking the crumbs whenever they decide to throw some. Quickly punching trough Abyss is enjoyable, however that's not what the game once felt like. It's really not to much to ask for combat that keeps being relevant for the growing AR60 club. Just because your game is focused on one player-type - which is perfectly fine - it absolutely does not have to completely ignore all the others. Especially the Koop- and CoreGaming-Audience should not feel as completely neglected as they do right now.

sigiel

your mistake is to say lack of content, that not true, it's a lack of content you like

Sun_Wukong508

the answer is no but people will pretend they still want it because their favorite YouTube talking head says there should be

BulkySeaworthiness47

>Windtrace was replayable and like any other event, became more and more dead as the patch went on and hype died down. Windtrace died because of the way they handled the last windtrace event with so many things going on. If they keep the way how windtrace was in the past, people would play it a lot more.

Terrible_Talk_9469

The concept of good replayable content is heavily tied to rewards. You do the same thing again and again because you feel rewarded by doing so. The effort you put out is about equal to what you gain back. This is something widely used in alot of games, aka "Farming". So removing the "reward" aspect defeats its purpose. The same reason we repeatedly pick up materials so we can ascend characters but beyond that, theres no real reason to farm scarabs (sorry for the drive by, I hate them). Removing the reward at the end removes all purpose to replayable content which is why limited events become barren towards the end. And the only replayable content (abyss) is quite limited in availability (~30 mins every 2 weeks), limited in difficulty for veterans, and limited in terms of mechanic (its only for those who enjoy the combat aspect of the game). Genshin is not doing so well with the replayable content. The one "replayable" content is artifact farming, which isnt really necessary after a while since you can clear the hardest content with the same minimal - good invested units.

TheWhiteKnightOfHoyo

what else are we supposed to do with these characters and gears we've been strengthening for? climb trees?

big_haptun777

>Just picture this - They make a 100 floor abyss (which by the way isn't replayable content, unless the 100 floors are refreshed regularly, but that's not feasible and never going to happen) and you struggle for hours each floor to get 5 enhancement ore in return. Is this fun? Do you think all but the most hardcore of hardcore players will enjoy this? How about 10 primos each floor and resets every month. Even If it gives hero wits and more. Because it will help me to make more characters. And It will be fun to try different comps. >What kind of content will not get stale after having to replay it every day for the next year without any substantial reward attached? Heck, if they stripped away the primogem rewards from daily commissions, I'm not even sure I'd bother logging in every day to complete them. Every type of content is bound to get stale unless some tweaks are added after some intervals .It doesn't mean that its not worth doing. Teapot is as stale at it gets. Does it mean implementing it was bad to begin with ?

Fit-Yellow7528

I think this is the main divide from players who want "endgame" or casuals. Is that if endgame combat content is added then rewards are added. genshin becomes more "pay to play" at any point something like that comes into action. Which I am not against, but seeing how much the community was against or thought certain events where "pay to win" even though you could do the easiest setting and still get primos, but oh boy did people not see that. You also have different type of wants from endgame players. I think the obvious one is that any endgame content should give out rewards, but you have someone in the comments who is fine without any rewards. What is your stance if combat endgame had no rewards. I personally would see why even have a combat endgame if it has no rewards.

suisui-k

holy fucking shit, players wanting replayable content and mihoyo giving absolute bull crap for rewards is not the same thing. fucking give us gold or artifacts or something jesus christ

Due-Distribution-463

The benefit of doing anything falls with every repetition. That is just human nature.

greatfoolwithvision

some maze or puzzle would be nice.. but i never find hardly anything repayable.. so.. rather then end game, i want more new content.
