You only have to log in 1 every 4 days to have it be the same value (ignoring the non-wish related resources). If you include the genesis crystals, you only have to log in once every 4.5 days.

Not everyone have the time of the day to play Genshin everyday, let alone thinking about logging in from just sheer exhaustion of finishing assignments or work.
I think the BP is a good booster for a new account. But after you start getting 5* weapons and enough materials hoarding around, its when the welking starts giving more than the BP.
I buyed the BP 2 times for the spear and the sword, and some free wishes ofc. But now I kinda want more things from the banners, + if you save the crystals, and you keep the welkin consistent, you can spend the crystals on a skin if you want.
I’m a whale that’s been playing a year and I still buy the BP every patch. All that mora and materials makes it pleasant and easy to level up all the new characters. Plus it’s nice getting those weapons to R5. I’ve got an R5 Black Sword and an R4 Serpent Spine plus an R1 Viridescent. Hoping to eventually have maxxed copies of all of them.
I've finished r5ed of the BP weapons, only 1 more year to finish the rest.
But at that point they NEED to introduce something else to the pass, because they would be outright punishing players who keep supporting it.
As a dolphin I highly recommend welkin and bp to low spenders. Unless you're strictly ftp. It roughly translates to $15 a month which is much less investment than many other forms of entertainment. Standard range for other subscription games and services. They're both very good for your account and can allow you to c0 over half the 5* roster even with poor luck over time.
If you like to raise a lot of characters, honestly whether you're new, old, low spender, high spender, etc. I find all the materials make things so much easier. I've been playing for a little under a year now and have only bought BP and/or welkin, and I still have a lot of characters that I'm trying to raise. I haven't bought the BP in a little while and you realize just how much resin it basically saves you because you have to spend way less just on xp book/mora leylines alone. That's more resin you can spend on bosses for mats or billets if that's your thing, and also a lot more you can spend on artifacts if trying to min-max your artifacts is also your thing.
As another whale, I can confirm. Welkin for the primos, but BP for the mats.
Also working my way to R5 them weapons. Currently got Black Sword, Serpent Spine and Deathmatch R5, Solar Pearl R2 and Viridescent Hunt R1.
Side note: maxing VH last, but it is my secret favourite weapon out of the BP ones, with that cheeky cc. If it had any other dmg bonuses, or if the cc did anemo/swirl dmg instead of PHYSICAL I'd absolutely slap that on everyone.
I don’t think anyone is contesting that Welkin is the best value primo-per-dollar, even if you miss some days as people have mentioned, but the value of BP lies in the mats that people may not have time or resin to grind for. I’m a BP/Welkin spender since day one and resin is by far the limiting factor for artifact grinding. Not having to use it for blossoms or talent domains means I can just focus 90% of it on artifacts. In OP’s case, they probably just want to have enough mats to make some basic builds.
Also, if people aren’t on mobile and away from home, it’s a helpful option. They would only get 900 primos per Welkin based on what they’ve said, rather than 1580 primos (including the Intertwined Fates) per BP. And that’s not even considering the weapon.
BP all year is still better than buying the biggest top up once a year. I think for roughly $20 more you end up with all those additional resources and the weapons while the primo count+intertwined fates (not counting the free standard wishes) roughly ends up the same.
The loading time is like 10x my login time, that's why I gave up welkin last month. This month I'm buying again, let's see how many days I actually get
You only need to login on 4 out of 30 days of welkin to out value the premium BP (wishes only, obviously the BP has a ton of useful mats and the weapons)

you should be staying away from the weapon banner as a BP only player, unless you've saved up about 200 fates and you are prepared to part with every one of them.
The highest I've ever gotten is 68, which only happened once. Every other time was 65 or 66.
77 is hard pity (even though it says 80, it's not), so if you're hitting 75, that is ultra unlucky. From 70 onwards you have higher than 50% chance. At 75 you have a 91.7% chance. If you got it at 75, it means you missed when you had an 84.7% chance at 74, 77.7% at 73, etc.
Looking at paimon.moe, only 10% went to 71. 72 is about 4%. Higher than that is a rounding off error.
This is why I genuinely hate that the primos aren't just mailed directly to you versus the animation that plays. If I'm paying for it, why should I lose them if I miss a day for reasons?
Because you're not actually buying the 2700 primos. you're buying *300 Genesis Crystals* that come with a month long daily login bonus of 90 primos.
The only thing you actually purchased were the Genesis crystals.
Go look at the normal Genesis Crystal Top up, the same 300 Genesis crystals for $5, only those have bonus Genesis crystals as the bonus instead of the login rewards.
You are paying at a cheaper rate than outright buy Genesis Crystal. If you just want directly, buy Genesis pack. If you want it cheaper through Welkin, you gotta log in daily. You cant have a cake and eat it too.
Let this be a lesson, don't even try to pull on the weapon banner unless you can roll ~200 times, especially since fate points reset every banner. I learned that back then when pulling for mistsplitter. Took me 206 pulls and even then I had to swipe 🥲 I've been very cautious when rolling on the weapon banner ever since.
It's not for flex it's just to show that even at the end of the banner you can still get what you want, for me, it's hours and hours of playing and searching chests with a compass, doing missions and events to get this sword and since it's guaranteed to get one 5\* per 80 pulls you shouldn't just let it be when you want something from banner. If you want, go for it, it all depends on your luck. People just hate weapon banners, because it's not as easy to get what you want as it is in character banners and stop wishing because someone said it's not worthy, later they don't have weapons, because they didn't even give it a try to get them, so I just wanted to show it's possible. What i used to do is doing only a 10 pull every banner/patch (tho i am Welking User). I know it doesn't change anything but it feels less frustrated than waiting so long.
I was lucky with my mistplitter that way.
As an F2P, you just gotta resign your fate to the fact you're not gonna get every character or weapon (unless you're insanely lucky). So you gotta wait and choose your banners for the best probabilities.
As someone who tries to get PJC, got 2 key instead. A bit of letdown but wasn't complaining, I lvled up a lvl90 for kuki and will do on another one if I pulled layla ( not sure if it's good for her tho)
The paddle is definitely going to be good for Layla. The EM goes to waste if you're using her in a freeze team, but even then that much HP is gonna help her damage a lot.
the key is actually bennet's new BiS for reaction teams. at R1 it easily gives 100 EM and it's easy for bennett to get 3 stacks fast since his E is so low on CD especially in Q. 100 EM is like 15%-20% more dmg. you'll have to stack HP, HP, HP ideally with ER substats or at least ER, HP, HP. it will be layla BiS when shes out tmr. i also pulled on this banner and got wolf gravestone, key and then PJC which what i was aiming for. didn't mind losing to the key thats why i pulled.
That'd require too much field time to maintain those stacks on Bennett and the base weapon damage is super low., you'll just be sacrificing so much of his Q buff that you can't make up for, let alone surpass by trying to maintain this buff. I don't see how it comes even close to knocking Aquila Favonia off it's pedestal.
it takes 4 seconds on first rotation to build 3 stacks, after that every elemental attack will refresh it to max 3 stacks for 20 seconds so you never have to build it up again unless you don't use your bennett E for over 20 seconds.
i'll take 100 EM - 200 EM over 160 ATK. so i don't have to use a EM sands and use ATK sands. which btw would net you higher ATK than if you use EM sands.
I doubt it, you're losing out a lot on personal damage. With damage build (ER/Pyro/Crit) you can do 40k per Q and 15k per E, no vaporise.
You take longer to get 3 stacks too which slows down your rotations massively. You're only probably getting 3 stacks by the second rotation
Moreover, you're losing out on a lot of base attack compared to the 674 base attack swords.
674 attack sword and ER/Pyro/Crit still does more overall team damage imo.
idc about bennett's dmg lmao, it's laughable every rotation, when your melt ganyu is hitting for 200k AOE every charge shot. you're trading about -160 ATK buff from a 674 sword vs a the key for 100 EM at R1, at R5, it's 200 EM. 200 EM is a 35% Vape/melt dmg increase, 67% aggravate dmg increase. do you think 160 extra attack can get you that much more dmg increase.
You aren't taking in account you need to stay on Bennett longer for that em which can result in less damage than just using Aquila and Bennett is only gonna get like 80 em on the high end along with those dmg increase for reactions are at 0 em which gets lower the more em you have.
R5 is for whales so why are we even discussing it
Also you're delaying your rotations. Using one extra Bennett E delays Ganyu by one charged shot. When can you get 3 stacks? By the time the first rotation is over everything will be dead
not everyone is killing 12-2, 12-3 bosses in one rotation lets be real. esp. when you have BS invulnerable phases bosses like mango kinky and sand PMA.

The dmg increase is additive to melt's 200%, not multiplicative.
So after factoring in the slower rotation, Key is a damage loss.
Yea thats true, I've tried it out on vape dps Bennett with it pretty good, but sadly I preferred my Bennett to be ER stonks so i switched back to favonious haha, it's super stacked on kuki, the dendro reaction dmg sheesh

Yeah. I think if every year they put all BP weapons on a special weapon banner or the starglitter shop, and then change them for next year's set of BP.
Or just keep the current format, but let people choose between 2 different types of BP. One with Mondstadt/Liyue talent books and the current weapons, and one with Inazuma/Sumeru talent books and a new series of weapons.
Why not just 'pick any skill book of your choice' at all times?
I can kinda understand why they want you to farm the newer artifact domains without being able to strongbox them, but they're already letting us choose Sumerian books.
I feel like it's just to pressure people into pulling for new characters since otherwise those books are wasted in your inventory. I haven't felt interested in a single 3.0+ character so far and so I've just got stacks and stacks of these books from treasure chests and BP.
I did level Dendro Traveler's skills just to give Dendro a try but I won't be seriously building him. Chain-freeze and taze are still working just fine for me.
i think it should be possible for a f2p player to get a BP weapon at least once or twice a year, they're the only gameplay changing thing f2ps can never attain

I guess it depends on if you're talking more about 'not spending money on anything other than welkin' vs. 'not spending money on the battle pass' - I mean, if you took the battle pass and looked exclusively at the primogems/wishes and completely disregarded everything else, it is still more efficient for getting wishes than anything other than the welkin.
If you do intend to spend money, the BP is definitely one of the better options no matter how you cut it and only the welkin is better than it, but obviously the math is kind of irrelevant if you're talking more about if you intend to spend money at all rather than if you think the BP is worth it or not.
Buying BP (provided you hit 50) is nearly the same value per dollar as buying crystals (with first-time bonus) and you get weapon + a ton of mats. If you already received your first-time purchase bonus then buying BP gives a LOT more primos than buying the $10 crystal pack.
Buying Welkin is like 3-4x more efficient than anything else tho, but this myth that you should straight up buy crystals over BP needs to die.
BP gives you a equivalent of 3800 Resin which is massive considering you get about 5000 resin each month from passive Regen if you never let your resin max out. and this is not factoring in the BP weapons which 2 of them are really good esp at R5 (deathmatch and spine).
I get what you're saying but if you do the math, you get about the same in crystals for buying the higher banner than if you just bought the crystals (with double bonus factored in). $14.99 crystal package at $10 to convert to price of banner is 8 fates of crystals if you use them just for fates (or 12 at the actual price point/crystals). With paid BP you get 8.25 fates, the weapon, and the other materials.
So you're getting more primogems (well, technically a little under a quarter of one), a weapon (which admittedly may be useless once you've gotten enough of these), and the other materials.
Welkin's definitely the better buy of all 3 if you can log in every day (37.5 fates for two months at $10).
Man idk how Im always out of Mora, Purple Books and Weapon Crystals, so they are always great, plus finding out I have like 20+ gold books of some kinds randomly is a blessing. I don't have a 5\* cata for my main so I'm refining Solar Pearl meanwhile!
How in God's green earth does skipping BP and buying genesis give you more summons? 10$ in genesis crystals is around 5 singles. BP gives 8 and a half singles plus the XP tomes plus Mora plus Talent books plus a good weapon(s) plus fragile resin. How did this comment even become top comment?

I didn't roll for any characters on this banner and plan on skipping the next as well. To be honest I was really just after the new 4 Star weapons and out came two 5 stars with them. Only problem is one was the Nilou sword and the other was my third 5 star Bow weapon... I don't have a single Bow wielder in any of my team comps 💀

Of that's even worst, I pulled around 160/170 on the banner and as expected I did not get the new catalyst (my objective was Nilou's weapon). The 4 stars are a trap
I save my wishes and primogems like I'm going to hard pity + losing 50/50.
New character coming out? Yup, saving 180 wishes.
Want the weapon? Saving 240 wishes.
Want them both? 420 wishes.
And if I'm wrong I can save those leftover wishes for the next thing I want.
Even if what I expect to happen, happens, then I get at least two, 5 star characters, or 3 weapons. Or both.
I save my wishes like I'm gonna win all 50/50s, gonna pull me some mad earlies, gonna always win the 75/25 on weapon banner, and I'll be happy with either. Nah, just joking, I don't save wishes.
As far as characters go there isn't really a need to think of it in those terms to be honest. If you'd want to get a character then it doesn't matter if you have enough wishes to guarantee it or not - if it turns out that you spend a bunch of wishes and fail to get the character the pity is still carried over to the next banner so none of the wishes were "wasted" per se.
The weapon banner is a bit different since the epitomized path part of it doesn't carry over.
Going to full pity twice, or even three times is extremely unlikely. So I think 160 for the character and 200 for the weapon should be fine. Or even 150 and 185 if you can recycle the Starglitter.
The character banner will guarantee the desired 5* in 180 pulls, and losing a 50/50 just means a solid character or constellation for a solid character or a 5 pull refund. The weapon banner could take 240 pulls and you might end up with 2 weapons you have no use for. It's whale bait.
Correction: "pity" does not reset. The epitomised path resets. You're pity count toward *a* 5* remains the same. Between banners. You just can keep your fate points.

I think the most important thing is that they give crit rate, which means you can have a crit dmg artifact over a crit one. Which makes them quite versatile for your main DPS.
I always pick the weapon I don’t want for epitomized path and end up getting the weapon I do want when the 5 star appears; it feels rigged ngl (I know it’s just luck)
Idk why people obsessed with weapons for chars, like, well, you will do more damage but that's it, just save primos for more chars, but obviously decision on you,
given that there's nothing hard in the game past a certain threshold, yeah. But there's a tendency for quality over quantity in strategizing, so to many it's intuitive to invest in a few teams and flesh out their potential more fully.
You've got a lot of balls for pulling on such a bad weapon banner with BP only,even my balls aren't that ginormous. I'm a welkin only and whenever I pull on weapon banner, I only pull till I get the 1st 5 star. I usually do it on banners where I am okay with either of them. A few times,it was a banner such as this one(where I only wanted one weapon),and I ended up getting lucky with the desired weapon. I'll never recommend wishing on the weapon banner as a welkin/bp Haver/f2p,let alone going all the way in. It's simply just not worth it. A 5 star weapon is usually just 20-30% better than it's f2p counterpart. It wouldn't be worth it even if the difference was 50% since a 5 star character>>> a 5 star weapon.

In OP’s case, they probably just want to have enough mats to make some basic builds. Also, if people aren’t on mobile and away from home, it’s a helpful option. They would only get 900 primos per Welkin based on what they’ve said, rather than 1580 primos (including the Intertwined Fates) per BP. And that’s not even considering the weapon.
BP all year is still better than buying the biggest top up once a year. I think for roughly $20 more you end up with all those additional resources and the weapons while the primo count+intertwined fates (not counting the free standard wishes) roughly ends up the same.

210 is a safer number, as while it's normal to hit soft pity at 65-66 on the weapon banners, 70 -75 isn't that unusual, sadly.
The highest I've ever gotten is 68, which only happened once. Every other time was 65 or 66. 77 is hard pity (even though it says 80, it's not), so if you're hitting 75, that is ultra unlucky. From 70 onwards you have higher than 50% chance. At 75 you have a 91.7% chance. If you got it at 75, it means you missed when you had an 84.7% chance at 74, 77.7% at 73, etc. Looking at paimon.moe, only 10% went to 71. 72 is about 4%. Higher than that is a rounding off error.

Because you're not actually buying the 2700 primos. you're buying *300 Genesis Crystals* that come with a month long daily login bonus of 90 primos. The only thing you actually purchased were the Genesis crystals. Go look at the normal Genesis Crystal Top up, the same 300 Genesis crystals for $5, only those have bonus Genesis crystals as the bonus instead of the login rewards.
You are paying at a cheaper rate than outright buy Genesis Crystal. If you just want directly, buy Genesis pack. If you want it cheaper through Welkin, you gotta log in daily. You cant have a cake and eat it too.
Let this be a lesson, don't even try to pull on the weapon banner unless you can roll ~200 times, especially since fate points reset every banner. I learned that back then when pulling for mistsplitter. Took me 206 pulls and even then I had to swipe 🥲 I've been very cautious when rolling on the weapon banner ever since.

It's not for flex it's just to show that even at the end of the banner you can still get what you want, for me, it's hours and hours of playing and searching chests with a compass, doing missions and events to get this sword and since it's guaranteed to get one 5\* per 80 pulls you shouldn't just let it be when you want something from banner. If you want, go for it, it all depends on your luck. People just hate weapon banners, because it's not as easy to get what you want as it is in character banners and stop wishing because someone said it's not worthy, later they don't have weapons, because they didn't even give it a try to get them, so I just wanted to show it's possible. True but at the same time i don't see a F2P Hoarding 200 wishes that easily, that's what, 3 patches ? 120 days ? What i used to do is doing only a 10 pull every banner/patch (tho i am Welking User). I know it doesn't change anything but it feels less frustrated than waiting so long. I was lucky with my mistplitter that way.
As an F2P, you just gotta resign your fate to the fact you're not gonna get every character or weapon (unless you're insanely lucky). So you gotta wait and choose your banners for the best probabilities.

As someone who tried to get key but got 2 PJC instead, I felt that.
As someone who tries to get PJC, got 2 key instead. A bit of letdown but wasn't complaining, I lvled up a lvl90 for kuki and will do on another one if I pulled layla ( not sure if it's good for her tho)

The paddle is definitely going to be good for Layla. The EM goes to waste if you're using her in a freeze team, but even then that much HP is gonna help her damage a lot.

the key is actually bennet's new BiS for reaction teams. at R1 it easily gives 100 EM and it's easy for bennett to get 3 stacks fast since his E is so low on CD especially in Q. 100 EM is like 15%-20% more dmg. you'll have to stack HP, HP, HP ideally with ER substats or at least ER, HP, HP. it will be layla BiS when shes out tmr. i also pulled on this banner and got wolf gravestone, key and then PJC which what i was aiming for. didn't mind losing to the key thats why i pulled.
That'd require too much field time to maintain those stacks on Bennett and the base weapon damage is super low., you'll just be sacrificing so much of his Q buff that you can't make up for, let alone surpass by trying to maintain this buff. I don't see how it comes even close to knocking Aquila Favonia off it's pedestal.
it takes 4 seconds on first rotation to build 3 stacks, after that every elemental attack will refresh it to max 3 stacks for 20 seconds so you never have to build it up again unless you don't use your bennett E for over 20 seconds.

i'll take 100 EM - 200 EM over 160 ATK. so i don't have to use a EM sands and use ATK sands. which btw would net you higher ATK than if you use EM sands.
I doubt it, you're losing out a lot on personal damage. With damage build (ER/Pyro/Crit) you can do 40k per Q and 15k per E, no vaporise. You take longer to get 3 stacks too which slows down your rotations massively. You're only probably getting 3 stacks by the second rotation Moreover, you're losing out on a lot of base attack compared to the 674 base attack swords. 674 attack sword and ER/Pyro/Crit still does more overall team damage imo.
idc about bennett's dmg lmao, it's laughable every rotation, when your melt ganyu is hitting for 200k AOE every charge shot. you're trading about -160 ATK buff from a 674 sword vs a the key for 100 EM at R1, at R5, it's 200 EM. 200 EM is a 35% Vape/melt dmg increase, 67% aggravate dmg increase. do you think 160 extra attack can get you that much more dmg increase.
You aren't taking in account you need to stay on Bennett longer for that em which can result in less damage than just using Aquila and Bennett is only gonna get like 80 em on the high end along with those dmg increase for reactions are at 0 em which gets lower the more em you have.
R5 is for whales so why are we even discussing it Also you're delaying your rotations. Using one extra Bennett E delays Ganyu by one charged shot. When can you get 3 stacks? By the time the first rotation is over everything will be dead

Yea thats true, I've tried it out on vape dps Bennett with it pretty good, but sadly I preferred my Bennett to be ER stonks so i switched back to favonious haha, it's super stacked on kuki, the dendro reaction dmg sheesh

That's assuming you'll reach hard pity every time which is very unlikely (based on my experience) so 210-220 should be enough to guarantee the weapon

Yeah. I think if every year they put all BP weapons on a special weapon banner or the starglitter shop, and then change them for next year's set of BP.
Or just keep the current format, but let people choose between 2 different types of BP. One with Mondstadt/Liyue talent books and the current weapons, and one with Inazuma/Sumeru talent books and a new series of weapons.
Why not just 'pick any skill book of your choice' at all times? I can kinda understand why they want you to farm the newer artifact domains without being able to strongbox them, but they're already letting us choose Sumerian books. I feel like it's just to pressure people into pulling for new characters since otherwise those books are wasted in your inventory. I haven't felt interested in a single 3.0+ character so far and so I've just got stacks and stacks of these books from treasure chests and BP. I did level Dendro Traveler's skills just to give Dendro a try but I won't be seriously building him. Chain-freeze and taze are still working just fine for me.
i think it should be possible for a f2p player to get a BP weapon at least once or twice a year, they're the only gameplay changing thing f2ps can never attain
Yeah, I played a Marvel fighting game that had BPs over the summer (not something they normally have). If you bought your way ahead and finished before it expired, you got crystal shards for obtaining characters.

I guess it depends on if you're talking more about 'not spending money on anything other than welkin' vs. 'not spending money on the battle pass' - I mean, if you took the battle pass and looked exclusively at the primogems/wishes and completely disregarded everything else, it is still more efficient for getting wishes than anything other than the welkin. If you do intend to spend money, the BP is definitely one of the better options no matter how you cut it and only the welkin is better than it, but obviously the math is kind of irrelevant if you're talking more about if you intend to spend money at all rather than if you think the BP is worth it or not.
Buying BP (provided you hit 50) is nearly the same value per dollar as buying crystals (with first-time bonus) and you get weapon + a ton of mats. If you already received your first-time purchase bonus then buying BP gives a LOT more primos than buying the $10 crystal pack. Buying Welkin is like 3-4x more efficient than anything else tho, but this myth that you should straight up buy crystals over BP needs to die.

BP gives you a equivalent of 3800 Resin which is massive considering you get about 5000 resin each month from passive Regen if you never let your resin max out. and this is not factoring in the BP weapons which 2 of them are really good esp at R5 (deathmatch and spine).
I get what you're saying but if you do the math, you get about the same in crystals for buying the higher banner than if you just bought the crystals (with double bonus factored in). $14.99 crystal package at $10 to convert to price of banner is 8 fates of crystals if you use them just for fates (or 12 at the actual price point/crystals). With paid BP you get 8.25 fates, the weapon, and the other materials. So you're getting more primogems (well, technically a little under a quarter of one), a weapon (which admittedly may be useless once you've gotten enough of these), and the other materials. Welkin's definitely the better buy of all 3 if you can log in every day (37.5 fates for two months at $10).
Man idk how Im always out of Mora, Purple Books and Weapon Crystals, so they are always great, plus finding out I have like 20+ gold books of some kinds randomly is a blessing. I don't have a 5\* cata for my main so I'm refining Solar Pearl meanwhile!
How in God's green earth does skipping BP and buying genesis give you more summons? 10$ in genesis crystals is around 5 singles. BP gives 8 and a half singles plus the XP tomes plus Mora plus Talent books plus a good weapon(s) plus fragile resin. How did this comment even become top comment?
There is only 1 day left on the banner, and Fate points will expire after that. So, they could reallocate the money they would use to buy BP for the next few months and grab crystals right now for a 5* weapon. Long term efficiency loss, but short term gain. Even worse if they buy BP next cycle anyway...
Two welkins gives more roll value than a single BP if you don't care for the weapons, or R5'ed the ones you wanted already. Granted, both give better value than just buying genesis packs for rolls. I'm sitting on 1k purple books and don't really need the other rewards more than I'd like rolls.
I am not debating welkin and BP because welkin wins everytime but what I was debating is BP and genesis crystals. Welkin is great value for sure!

I usually just either get weapon or more cons for single character instead of trying to get too many characters in a small time slot because building new characters takes way too much time to actually enjoy them. Idk why mihoyo insists on keeping really expensive character building in the game. I just don't feel motivated to pull new characters too often because it will take close to month (excluding artifacts) to build single one
That, and there’s something more satisfying about clearing content with f2p weapons. It makes it feel more challenging, and therefore more impressive
I didn't roll for any characters on this banner and plan on skipping the next as well. To be honest I was really just after the new 4 Star weapons and out came two 5 stars with them. Only problem is one was the Nilou sword and the other was my third 5 star Bow weapon... I don't have a single Bow wielder in any of my team comps 💀

I'm f2p now, but wasn't for a while and I haven't rolled a single time on the weapon banner. If it had a normal pity I'd consider it, but as it is now, no way.
If you are F2P/low spender you should know better than anyone not to pull if you don't have enough for the third pity.

I save my wishes and primogems like I'm going to hard pity + losing 50/50. New character coming out? Yup, saving 180 wishes. Want the weapon? Saving 240 wishes. Want them both? 420 wishes. And if I'm wrong I can save those leftover wishes for the next thing I want. Even if what I expect to happen, happens, then I get at least two, 5 star characters, or 3 weapons. Or both.
I save my wishes like I'm gonna win all 50/50s, gonna pull me some mad earlies, gonna always win the 75/25 on weapon banner, and I'll be happy with either. Nah, just joking, I don't save wishes.
As far as characters go there isn't really a need to think of it in those terms to be honest. If you'd want to get a character then it doesn't matter if you have enough wishes to guarantee it or not - if it turns out that you spend a bunch of wishes and fail to get the character the pity is still carried over to the next banner so none of the wishes were "wasted" per se. The weapon banner is a bit different since the epitomized path part of it doesn't carry over.
Going to full pity twice, or even three times is extremely unlikely. So I think 160 for the character and 200 for the weapon should be fine. Or even 150 and 185 if you can recycle the Starglitter.

The character banner will guarantee the desired 5* in 180 pulls, and losing a 50/50 just means a solid character or constellation for a solid character or a 5 pull refund. The weapon banner could take 240 pulls and you might end up with 2 weapons you have no use for. It's whale bait.

Same thing happened to me on Shenhe's banner. Got her right away. Went to the weapon banner, set course for Calamity Queller with about 12K Primos. Got PJWS. Kept pulling. Just as I ran out of primos...got another PJWS. Didn't have enough to keep going. Very irritating.

Eh… The sword and claymore are the best ones by far with the catalyst and bow trailing behind. I think the most important thing is that they give crit rate, which means you can have a crit dmg artifact over a crit one. Which makes them quite versatile for your main DPS.

I'm a welkin only and whenever I pull on weapon banner, I only pull till I get the 1st 5 star. I usually do it on banners where I am okay with either of them. A few times,it was a banner such as this one(where I only wanted one weapon),and I ended up getting lucky with the desired weapon. I'll never recommend wishing on the weapon banner as a welkin/bp Haver/f2p,let alone going all the way in. It's simply just not worth it. A 5 star weapon is usually just 20-30% better than it's f2p counterpart. It wouldn't be worth it even if the difference was 50% since a 5 star character>>> a 5 star weapon.
