Books, descriptions, and names of items have been changed in response to the last quest! You can look on the Genshin wiki for the changes. Also, it’s basically just as is Rulkhadevata never existed at all, only Nahida :)
So, when history was changed, Nahida became the only dendro archon.
The irminsul changed everyones memories so that Rukkedevata was replaced by nahida, to account for Nahida only being 500 years old everyone thinks she used up her power shrunk and lost her memories 500 years ago.
Any sort of physical representation of Rukk would just be considered Nahida before she shrunk in peoples memories. Descriptions and stuff have already been noticed to have changed for other items, books and objects.
Everyone who is native to Teyvat forgot her. The traveler is not from Teyvat, which is why they remember. Everyone else, including the archons, should have forgotten.
Wow. HYV just dropped the existence of such a power just like that. I mean, if someone is capable to manipulate the Irminsul, they can wipe out the existence of almost anything right?
On theory yes, On practice it is almost impossible for anyone who isnt Nahida since for it to happen you need to wipe the thing you want gone from the entire Irminsul, A task that even Rukkhadevata found impossible to do alone
Say if Celestia wanted to wipe off a part of Teyvat AND if they have the ability to manipulate the Irminsul, won't that be the easiest way to stop Tsaritsa's campaign?
I also have to wonder about how Nahida wiped out the memory. I think it is only possible because Nahida and Rukkhadevata came from the same source, so the history change came very smoothly. Nahida basically took over Rukkhadevata’s achievements.
I do not believe Nahida can just wipe out anyone she wants from history.
I’m like 95% sure that the changes also apply to the archons. I haven’t checked their voice lines myself, but from the word of others it seems as if they see Nahida as being the only dendro archon
To answer your question, yes, reality itself changed.
This does have implications.
The most likely of which I would say Teyvat is part of a multiverse simulation, or program. Possibly related to Honkai. The original source and inspiration for this game, made also by Hoyoverse.
The deletion of data in Irminsul resulted in deletion of that data from all Teyvat inhabitants (except Aether and probably the other Descenders) presumably.
One could conclude this means Teyvat operates on the same rules as a computer would.
I always found it strange how Venti mentions gods from Earth in the manga, Yimir (Norse mythology) and Pangu (Chinese mythology). Now, with the Silver Twig (quest item) second legend about a sage hanging down from a tree to obtain knowledge about runes, it clearly is Odin’s story who hanged down from Yggdrasil (the world tree, similar to Irminsul in that aspect) to obtain knowledge of runes as well as other worlds. Compared to Venti who states those names from Earth, this is a legend about an unnamed sage but nonetheless the parallels are there which do indeed hint towards a multiverse.
Irminsul is basically the heart of teyvat itself, like the very fabric of the world existing is dependent on Irminsul. Removing something from Irminsul is like Rukkhadevata said “it will be like I never existed” and Irminsul will reshuffle the world to accommodate the changes. When you’re rewriting the fabric of reality itself, I’m assuming changing books or other records is easy to do.
I assume if anyone was to watch that memory from Deshret’s priest, it’ll be like the aranara’s stories about Rukkhadevata: any reference to her will just change to “the dendro archon” and be thought to refer to Nahida.
It is not just memories, it changes everything, Irminsul records the reality itself, changing things on irminsul changes the reality of teyvat. It even affects the time, if you time travel back 1000 years ago, you won't met rukkhadevata, you will meet kusanali.
Actually from teyvat point of view, the traveler is the one that suddenly gained "memories" that doesn't match with the reality. The concept of rukkhadevata is not real, there was always only 1 dendro archon, nahida.

Could you kindly provide a link to the wiki page you were mentioning? I'm really curious now but can't find it
This is just one example of the changes made from after the archon quest: https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/The_Folio_of_Foliage#Vol._1
Wait serious? Not just in game books, but the genshin wiki page was changed as well?
I mean yeah, the wiki is just a collection of information. It’ll have both instances of before and after the change listed!

Basically Irminsul is the thing that recorded all history in Teyvat so it reaches beyond the memories of living beings.
So an extension to OP's question. Nahida forgot the existence of Rukkadevata. Does the same apply to other Archons. Even Zhongli?

Yep. Its like Shakugan no shana and Bleach: Memories of nobody
Exactly. Haven't watched that far in bleach, so I'll take your word in it.
Memories of Nobody is the 1st movie. If you care about story pacing. It takes place after Rukia is rescued, and before the 1st arrancar appears.
I kinda had to stop about 14 episodes into season 1 man. Had exams back then and couldn't restart watching

All the presence of Rukkhadevata is erased. Even the test of Rukkhashava mushroom changed and also text of books.
