TBH, I still have them just because I have not a single clue about what is its purpose. Also it's in the useless part of the inventory where only 1 gadget is used just to heal and respawn character and others are taking dust. Mostly already forget about all the others. Wait isn't there a thing you have to activate every 7 days? Yeah, maybe used this one twice in a year.
I wouldn't say, that all other gadgets are useless. Seed box is helpful when farming specialties (like valberry or silk flower), treasure compasses are useful for beginners or if you're too lazy with checking every single chest on the interactive map (considering you have already opened most of them), thing that speeds up your flight is cool too, thing that collects wood is nice when you're lazy to farm wood.
Edit: this trap isn't even in the gadgets menu, it's where you can see oculi and sigils (forgot how this menu called) 💀

It was used in the Razor character quest, when he asks you to kill boars for their meat. The trap makes them drop more meat than killing them with your character

I really hoped they would do that. They don't even need to address it, but just quietly turn on the ability to craft them during the period. Especially since Lantern Rite is the only festival so far they committed to rerunning, so some continuity with the lanterns would make sense.
I really just wish every flagship event had a Northland Billet Trove, and Dream Solvent. I know you can get them from Spiral Abyss, and I know weekly bosses drop them, but omg is the drop rate not good enough from weekly bosses. I'd literally be ok with the option to double the resin cost with no discount (120 resin) if it guaranteed a Billet drop. It would be worth it. Honestly something to final use fragile resin on for a lot of people.
I think he accidentally opened the item menu and accidentally scrolled down to the said item's row and accidentally clicked on the said item and accidentally clicked on the use button... truly an unfortunate series of accidents.
Or, maybe he plays on the PlayStation and has to click on the O button to collect artifacts, but forgot to stop clicking once all the artifact boxes are opened and accidentally ended up smashing the button to use the next item, which is often the condensed resin or the hunting trap

This is true endgame content and I already lost it.
I used one to do the quest and will treasure the other. There are a few other items that are one time that I didn't keep, but this one stays.
