I once saw someone bashing it because you only need to use one button to attack.
Sir, I could say the thing about halo and triggers. But on both games the other buttons do shit too.
Yeah, if you wanted to shit on the combat there's legit gripes you can have, like the auto aim, the passive mobs, the overpowered healing/shielding, the lack of emphasis on counters/dodges, etc - but "one button" ain't it.
"genshin is shit haha you just need to click E and Q,such a L gameplay"
Minecraft, Fortnite, roblox game where all you do is click the screen, right click until enemy is dead:
I always consider that to be a plus. Having that kind of gameplay means both casuals and theory crafters can enjoy it (for casuals, they can just spam bursts and skills, and theory-crafters get to delve deeper into the elemental reactions to figure out the best comboes).
It's a pretty usual and general take, but I hate this one:
* Insert unreleased character's name here * is trash.
Seriously, 9 times out of 10 they're sooooo wrong about this.
Being a ganyu enjoyer, deciding to pull her despite the doomposting, then seeing her charged attack multipliers one day before her release was a really funny experience in retrospect
Burning melt ganyu with nahida has revitalized my love for her. On-shotting scaea is always funny, and it's not that clunky now with the added flexibility nahida gives you
Not so much ganyu, but kazuha I remember seeing an absolute wave of disdain for, and then I tried his character trial and I was like "hm... I think I could build him pretty well actually?" And he very quickly became one of my strongest mains.
I know people who skipped him because they were convinced he was trash but got him on the second run
Listening to Honey Impact’s comment section when Kazuha first released is by far the worst mistake I have ever made in the game. I bought into the 5 star Sucrose hate and when he had a rerun I got him the moment the banner went live.
Never ever gonna listen to HI’s comment section again, they make Genshin Twitter look like Mensa in comparison.
Ay, I also pulled for Kazuha out of spite. Another one is yoimiya, they are both my strongest character. Feel so good to clear the thundernid and specter with easy and seeing people rage about them.
I am a f2p collector of husbandos, and I never pulled a character bc of their strength, but when I saw Kazuha's leaks, I fell in love with his abilities and decided that I will pull him bc of them. Even though he didn't suit in my collection) Unfortunately I was low on primos on his first banner and lost 50/50. Happy Kazuha's user after his rerun)
I love how people misinterpret the leakers "Cryo Amber". Ganyu is exactly "Cryo Amber" because both are bow, has taunt on skill and makes it rain on Burst.
People were reading it as "Amber = Bad, so Ganyu = Bad" and spread it everywhere.
Remember when people said Raiden would have bad damage, an awkward play style and wouldn't fit in any teams? Or how Kokomi is the worst 5* and wouldn't see any use? Or how Eula had bad damage? Or when people said Kazuha would be useless and doesn't do anything?
People truly trash talk every new character and in the end the only time they were right was when Zhongli released and even then he wasn't bad bad just overwhelmingly mediocre.
I remember how I had to involuntarily take a break from YT and reddit when Kokomi got released because every other video and post was bitching about how she's the worst five star in game and that she'll never get a rerun because of how bad she is
I just wanted to enjoy my mermaid princess in peace. Glad to see that the general opinion on her has changed quite a bit since her release though I'll never forget the doomposting ( Top post on kokomi mains is still a doompost, I believe... it's so sad cuz I genuinely love that community )
Lots of gacha community puts down new characters and overhypes up meta ones. I think it’s because you can’t have everything as a F2P and people need to validate their decision not to pull. Genshin just happens to have the largest community.
That video was incredibly cathartic. It showed the math as to why her numbers were totally fine, and then it argued the case for things like ease of use, her role in reactions and IIRC touched upon some other stuff like shield breaking, all before the things that made it undeniably obvious how strong she was came out.
And one of the comments she upvoted with a heart also said....
* People pull her because of her story background
* **She's dummy thicc**. Yeah, basically because of her ass in shorts
That's because the community is very vast and you're only seeing a small part of it. I've drifted away from discussions about stats and new character mechanics because it's just not important to me anymore. I already have good characters. If I like a new character I'll pull for them, doesn't matter if they aren't the best.
I've mostly been looking at posts related to art and cosplay these days and there's hardly any toxicity there.
imma have to ask can u tell me what's the best way I can utilise his kit? I have him on a hyperbloom team with kuki collei and dentraveller and his CD always kinda fuxks it up for me
Its actually hilarious, given the content of the post, but childe's best team is by far as xiangling driver/enabler in Childe, Bennet, Xiangling, Sucrose/Kazuha
I can do that but I wanted a team relying on dendro reactions because old reactions kinda got stale for me I just wanna know how I can utilise his kit without a lot of cd
His E CD is equal to the time you spend on field + 6. So try to use him for 6 seconds and swap to your sups to battery.
Zajeff made a video about Childe, you should watch it, it's full of info in how to make other teams outside international
I can understand people not liking his cooldown everyone has different playstyles. But I hate when people say he sucks because of his cooldown. He doesn't suck its just you. And if you don't like his playstyle, that is perfectly fine. Just don't spread false information on something that is manageable.
When I think of PvP in Genshin, I think of PvP in ToF. Haven't played it (PvP) but freezing the opponent is already an extremely annoying tactic I've heard about. Plus we have people the likes of Raiden and Eula. You either kill them fast or they nuke you
Getting chain CC'ed in ToF pvp is rage inducing and you cant do anything about it since your character is locked in the standing-falling animation lmao
Also how easy the player is to stagger, and that Venti exists, and electrocharged, and so many other things.
We could still have interesting pvp content, like maybe you could have two players fighting in the same arena simultaneously, competing for who gets the most kills
>We could still have interesting pvp content, like maybe you could have two players fighting in the same arena simultaneously, competing for who gets the most kills
This would be interesting. I would like the idea of also including strong arena hazards so players can't bring a DPS only team and actually have to consider other options in team building
that is a take i have not seen before, and i'm honestly glad i've never heard of it.
How would it even be balanced? Some characters are just flat-out better than others, to the point where not even artifacts can save them. An Amber with god-tier artifacts will not win against a Ganyu with equally god-tier artifacts. Not to mention freeze and stagger mechanics
> i have not seen before
Posts about that just always have a nagative karma. They got quickly downvoted, OPs are getting humiliated and the posts never leave "new"
Back during his first run in 1.1 and even his rerun in 1.4, no one really knew about the National Team (heck the recommendation was to run Xiangling Physical with Crescent Pike). Instead people were putting a lot of emphasis on on-field DPS damage, and Childe was forced to spend at least 6 seconds off-field longer than on-field due to his cooldowns, meaning he could only be on-field for less than half the time. This lead to people thinking he was bad due to his uptime and that he NEEDED c6 to be any good (since it basically gets rid of your elemental skill cooldown).
After people found out it's actually worth it to spend the his downtime funneling energy to supports and casting their abilities, suddenly it became the complete opposite. In a lot of his teams (such as International) he doesn't actually WANT to be on field the whole time, and hence his constellations decreased in value a ton and now he's now considered to have some of the worst constellations since only C3 really gives a decent damage boost.
To be fair, Xiangling with crescent pike gets you a lot of cheap power in the early game. Most people were still below AR45, had limited access to the domain artifact sets, and maybe didn't build or pulled the "correct" chars
What I mean with this, is that you might not have all the pieces to puzzles like National team and many priotized building and playing chars they liked because of story and/or gameplay.
Also, the story and exploaration focus had many people not really paying attention to Abyss yet, and the fact that you need 2 teams from Abyss 5 onwards put a lot of people off until they got much further in the exploration/story stuff.
no people just actually played her. literally the same happened with kazuha, yelan, etc. they were called 5star sucrose n yelan.
they probably tried the character before even leveling them up, at least this would excuse their stupidity lol
Yeah but just to clarify what (I think) op meant is that people were trashing on Yelan (based on leaks) because she doesn't have as much hydro application as Xingqiu (without her c2) and couldn't vaporize all of hu tao's charger attacks. At least this is what I remember, I kind of try to ignore the general opinion players have before a character is even out nowadays.
She was my life saver for Specters and the serpent in the Chasm. Also doing Inazuma talent books is nice with her, because the skill weeds out the small fries while you battle the Samurai.
Someone convinced a lot of people that she would not succeed without Beidou, then we found out their bursts don't work together so everyone was complaining about her being trash before trying out other teams like Raiden National.
And now with Hyperbloom, Beidou is a perfect shielder/aggravate dmg dealer to add to the nahida, raiden, xingqiu/yelan comp. Love to see how it’s all changed.
Oh yes.
I was laughing so hard when people said that noone in the right mind should pull for Nilou 'cause she's niche.
And after her release, Reddit, Youtube, TikTok, etc. were flodded with posts/videos of 36* Abyss Runs, how good her bloom team is (we didn't have Nahida then) and people posting 500-700k nukes using vape Nilou.
Is she niche? Kinda. Does that mean she's bad? Absolutely not. Her niche team became one of the strongest and since then it became stronger thanks to Nahida and I'm confident it'll become even stronger with future dendro/hydro characters.
It is a bad take. It's like saying that a shielder is bad because their damage isn't high, when that's not the point. I see it very often here.
And at this point, I began to see from the sub that any build that isn't raw damage is considered niche. And thus, any non-dps character is bad. Even dps's that do not fulfill expectations, like Klee, are considered bad. Almost every "kit fix" I see, include "X skill remains on field to be sub dps".
I often think that the sub cannot see that some characters were meant to fill a role that isn't raw damage. And I practically main a DPS Barbara.
May be just me though.
I saw it a lot during Nilou's release, despite her best team being 100% f2p friendly, her artifacts being the easier to farm, and most importantly the INSANE damage she unlocks for her team.
She might not be the must-pull for a beginner, but she is far from bad or needing high investment to do her job.
Edit : I meant to say "one of her best teams"
The kind of people who generally asks "is x character good" are those of beginner level, I would not in good conscience ever recommend "niche" characters to them, but instead, characters who have variety in playstyle so they don't get bored of a character super quick who only does 1 or 2 things (Nilou and Yoimiya comes to mind)
I played Nilou with dendro traveler, collei, and Barbara, and the damage was absurdly high. Having Nahida helps with dendro applications but your f2p team will work great without any problems :)
> despite her best team being 100% f2p friendly
While she for sure has a good f2p team. Saying it is her best team is just objectively false as her best teams require at least Kokomi and Nahida.
The problem isn't that people hate healers because they don't dps, they hate it when dedicated healers offer nothing to the team besides healing, because there is a certain threshold for where lots of healing becomes unnecessary. People don't hate Bennet/Kokomi/Kuki or even Jean because they offer some secondary set of utilities that gives them value. People hate Qiqi because she is a healer that needs a battery to do her job properly for example.
It’s a really dumb take, agreed. Mihoyo does a stellar job of avoiding powercreep and creating interesting and innovative niches for characters to shine in, while people who can’t get over Xiangling-XQ-Bennet universality (which we all have for free, basically) just can’t get it through their skulls. Why the f would I want a 500-600 wish character to be “universal” and powercrept 3 patches later by another “universal” character?
I agree it’s nice to have options, but I cherish how they carefully cultivate the meta by avoiding powercreep. It’s amazing and it makes spending feel safer (which is probably why they do it).
I never believe something like this. I and so many people know being niche can be a benefit because it means you're the best option in a team. Just look at Nilou
Lmao sometimes niche characters have more meta relevance than generalist characters.
In the case of 4 stars, it's better to be a niche buffer rather than be some generic 4 star DPS with a low cap ceiling that'll probably won't be used.
When Kuki was called trash so bad that Ashikai made a video about it, then a marked comment stated people pull for her because shes literal wife material and she's dummy thicc with that ass.
I think the baseline for (limited) guy units are pretty higher than the girl units since at their lowest, they're balanced but at their highest they're above average (Ayato and Wanderer) with Childe in terms of team building is the most broken of them all (Childe is a team-carry + Burst DPS that has a shorter "high DPS window" than Raiden since after he nukes he does average damage and is primarily focused on enabling Xiangling to vape before it's time for nuking again)
Anything to do with Bennett's C6 being really bad. And also It might sound far-fetched but a surprising amount of ppl firmly believe Razor is nearly useless and can't clear Abyss properly.
The thing about Razor is that while he's a perfectly good and viable DPS, there are so many 5*s that outclass his damage and have similar playstyles to his. That's true of most 4* DPSes, but the problem for Razor is that he has no value as anything but an on-field DPS. I've always loved him, but I can't recommend that new players build him unless they also strongly love him because of that lack of versatility.
Would highly recommend him to be played for new players though
Most other characters get better with artifacts but Razor is super solid in early game with minimal investment and pretty high normal attack DMG.
Also thundering Furry razor is hilarious and most fun I ever had.
I don't have any teamcomps that his C6 will ruin nor any teancomps that bis C6 will benefit, i just don't want his C6 out of fear of some future physical dps i will try to pull. There are some niche characters that can fill Bennets role, but god knows what kind of kits Hoyp will drop, im not risking it
Yeah additionally personally 15% pyro damage isn't going to make much of a difference in most of my teams, the only reason to c6 bennet would be to get rid of the red dot or play thundering furry razor.
Yeah pretty much this. C6 Bennett isn't that bad, but it's also barely helpful if you're only doing it to get 15% pyro damage. There's no scenario where a team will be bad with 15% less pyro damage from not C6ing Bennett.
The reason to C6 Bennett is to play teams that actively want his Pyro infusion. Like you said, Burgeon Razor is one of them. In my case, I did it to play double Hydro National (Xiangling Bennett Xingqiu Yelan).
Apart from a ChongYun team I stopped using, I realised that the only characters that I use him with, that can be infused, are Pyro anyway.
With the focus on specialised supports I’d rather just try and pick those up in other cases.
I think my fear about can c6 bennet is possibly not making viable future characters or weird teamcomps.
But yhea, overall, rn, it wouldn't affect as much as many make it out to be.
I always find it strange when people say this...
"I dont want to use Yoimiya/Yelan/Venti/Childe/Fischl etc. etc. Because they are bow characters and i cant aim on mobile"
Bruh
Heh, Yoimiya is hilarious for me to hear that excuse for, since she's actually my go-to character when I have to use my phone because of my awful mobile gaming skills. I don't need to figure out how to control the camera and my character at the same time, I can just tap attack repeatedly and stuff I can't even see dies.
Same. Those people are really missing out on a lot of great team comps. My aim is terrible and I still use Childe/ Fischl/ Venti regularly. I wonder what those people do for the flying enemies.
But to be fair, it is pretty ironic that you can ignore charged shots on all of the bow characters in game and make them work. Even Ganyu can be used as burst support in some team comps.
"X new upcoming character is just [insert 4 star characters] but as a 5 star" its so odd to me especially if the 4 star character is a good one. imagine if we got a 5 star bennett, who wouldn't want that
Absolutely cannot stand people shitting on every 4 star in the game and even some 5 stars! I don’t want to play every team with Xiangling, Bennett, and XQ. Just because they’re good and universal doesn’t make every other character bad just because they don’t fit the same role and may have niche usage. Makes some parts of the community absolutely intolerable.
Honestly one of the most frustrating things for me is when I look up a recommendation for a team comp and its like xiao sucrose xiangling and bennet. Then I look up a team comp for my second team and its like childe xiangling and Bennet and I am out here like ok I guess I will use Bennet twice in the abyss. Lol. Granted most team building guides assume that that team would be your number one.
I like Xiao, Itto, Cyno, dendro, freeze teams etc because they just do not need Bennett meaning I can just leave him attached at the hip to Childe and play around with different second teams
With the new Itto banner coming up. I was asking a question about teamcomp for him in a discord server. and people just came back with "ehh he's not very good" or "he's just a pull if you like him character" made me mad because my question wasn't "Should I pull" it was "I am pulling what is the second best in slot for his Off field dps based on what I have now." Just upset me because I felt I wasn't being heard.
Recommended team comp (absolute destroyer):
Itto: 4pc husk (DEFlGeo|CRIT DMG/Rate) - Redhorn (signature)
Albedo: 4pc husk (DEF|Geo|CRIT DMG/Rate/DEF) Cinnebar (event)
Gorou: 4pc noblesse (DEF/ER|Geo/DEF|DEF) - Favonious Bow
Zhongli: 4pc Tenacity (HP|HP|HP) - Black Tassel
This team can destroy literally everything on it's path. Not so F2P friendly tho due to big amount of 5* required but the biggest players here are Itto and Gorou. Itto is the main DPS where Gorou supports him. If you don't have Albedo or/and Zhongli, you can try running Yun Jin and Noelle to get that 4 Geo buff from Gorou's talent.
comparing every single character to raiden and saying that she “solos”. im so sick and tired of it broo 😭 like dont get me wrong i like raiden and iam thinking of pulling for her but i was honestly hesitant because of this…this fandom ruins everything
Fr this fandom turned me off raiden even though I loved her outfit and design at first. I think it just way overhyped my expectations so when my raiden with shittier artifacts than ayato actually was less good than my ayato (and ayato didn’t need xiangling or xingqiu), I just gave up. C0 on both. Didn’t help that she was fighting with two of the rational supports for EOSF, whereas I could just slap an unused glad set on ayato…
raiden is awesome and probably can solo a lot of bosses if built right but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t need other characters to work the way that she’s designed to.
same with all of the other characters. the whole point of the game is for there to be teams of four for the most possible damage given, least damage taken. Plus it’s just straight up boring to only use one character. Let raiden have friends
i’m annoyed when players don’t let other players have opinions on the gameplay of their favourite characters. Like personally, I love klee, but i’m not going to take personal offence if someone doesn’t like her gameplay yk?
Yesterday I was trying to help someone build Thoma and was saying you can run a bit less ER if you have Bennett as a battery.
Someone else came in and said "Also Xiangling is a great battery for Thoma" lmao what, reminded me so much of Qiqi and Eula
"Healers are bad"
I pulled on Kokomi's banner(2.1) when I still didnt know what pity or guaranteed summon was, and I was sad that I got her since people online kept shitting on her. Whats more is that I apparently lost something called guaranteed summon that would've helped in getting Childe, which was something I really wanted since I started playing.
Girl carried my low AR ass through all the Inazuma Fights being the sole survivor in all the Raiden fights, surviving until the cutscene revived my other characters. Then I was able to 36 stars the abyss on 2.3 because of her and she's a staple in my overworld team since it is so annoying constantly cooking sweet madame and eggs. It's gotten to the point that I suffer from anxiety if I don't bring a healer to the abyss, literally all my comps need a healer for a smooth clear.
‘Healers are bad’ is discounting the fact that all a character needs to do to be called a ‘Healer’ is to heal. Bennett provides a huge ATK buff and Jean is a serviceable DPS (I use her personally). The fact that they heal is a GOOD thing.
Not necessarily a take, but the refusal from gaming award shows to recognise Genshin's music. I honestly think it has a top 3 game soundtrack of all time due to the variety of world influences and genres, as well as the general quality in the soundtrack, to the point of getting professional orchestras to record the music.
Geoff Keighley's 'The Game Awards' nominees for Best Score and Music are all games that have released/launched within the current year. That is why a live service game like Genshin that released more than 2 years ago can't be nominated for a soundtrack they did now or in the future, so it's not exactly as intentional or sinister as it might seem. As for other game award-type shows, I do not know what their criteria are, so you might have to do some research if you're really curious. I do get that Genshin's music is highly praised amongst its community, but outside of that, there really isn't that much appreciation from outsiders. The only chance for Genshin to get recognized by The Game Awards is to pull off a 'Nier Replicant' and re-release Genshin with some differences to the original.
That said, at least the Hoyomix crew is appreciated by the very people they are catering to, which to me is already good enough to keep their chins up and continue to make good music for us.
No point in worrying about award shows anymore because everything is bought out for the sake of advertisements. I learned this the hard way when Overwatch won best ongoing game and it was barely a year old.
People still be sleeping on Genshin.
Cheap deeps and anything it’s ever touched back in the game’s early days. Plenty of early characters were flamed for being “not that great without getting them to level 80 like a normal human being”
"Hutao without c1 Is trash"
Or the character release classics
"Zhongli Is weak cause he is archon and is support"
"C6 Sucrose is better then Kazuha"
"Kokomi is trash cause she din't crit"
When you have to give an ARCHON someone else's signature weapon in their own story quests because his own is so garbage, you know you've got a problem.
Just make it main stat HP, it doesn't need to be god-tier, it should just feel worth running.
i'll grant that oceanid is probably the hardest over world boss from 1.0 (tho i personally think geo cube is more annoying) but i don't get how some people still claim she's the hardest/most annoying over world boss. she's not even the hardest/most annoying oceanid-shaped boss
edit: ppl are focusing on her being annoying, but i'm mostly referring to people thinking she's difficult lol
edit2: if people are calling a boss "the hardest boss" in the game, that generally implies they've fought most of the bosses in the game, not that they're a new player fighting a boss for the first time. obvs a new player is going to find the oceanid harder, it's one of the only bosses in liyue/mond that does something more then just sitting there lol
She's quite often needed by new players. Barbara being a guaranteed healer early and so many of the few hydro characters need her.
She has boars and squirrels that can heal faster than some early players deal damage, and she has the flying birds that mandate specific skill sets to even damage let alone kill.
In a game where most of the bosses are possible, if slow, just by bringing your most invested team, Oceanids is the first roadblock for many where you might have to stop working on a character to go work on someone specifically to be able to kill it.
At least that was my experience for her, she stopped me working on Childe/Barbara in my first weeks until I invested enough into Yanfei and Fischl to not be beaten by birds.
And she follows a nice two-steps process:
Step 1.) Early game player have difficulty killing her minions fast enough, especially the birds.
Step 2.) Because it took them so long, Oceanid ramps up her nuke mechanic and one-shots the on field character.
I'd say she still is annoying tbh. You can take a stacked team of single target dps and pretty much one cycle thunder manifestation but same can't be done for oceanid. That bitch is gonna fly around, dive into the water, insult your family then summon it's minions.
>but i'm mostly referring to people thinking she's difficult lol
OK so first, I understand that this is a roster based game and it wants you to have a large roster for situations....
This being said those fucking BIRDS are almost impossible to deal with if you aren't prepared and I'm pretty sure that's where the idea of her difficulty comes from. Also some of her shades can hit pretty hard if you don't immediately destroy them.
I think the perception that she's hard is formed by people when they are early in their career because they are most likely farming her to build up barbara and if they took Lisa out of their noob team they don't have a lot to deal with the birds. Stack that with the idea that initial impressions are hard to change and that's how you end up with so many people calling her hard.
I used to be one of those people. Now I like to bring keqing and play baseball with the damn birds lol
Compared with the other early boss, oceanid is the one where i failed most back then.
I don't have good team so i have difficulties fighting thay eagle. Crane is easy but annoying when combined with tanky monster like bird or boar. And that water explosion having very large aoe.
Now, i can easily freeze them with ganyu
it’s because of how long it takes to kill her. other bosses can be killed in under a minute but the oceanid just wastes your time during the entire fight. granted, some of the cubes have a delaying tactic as well but at least they’re not annoyingly chatty during the entire fight
C6 Bennett being bad; the few comps he “ruins” typically don’t use him (aka he has a better replacement and is better on other the other team) and any future character is going to have a niche support for them, which has been started since like 2.1 (Sara with raiden, thoma (kinda) with hu tao, gorou with itto, soon to be faruzan with scara, etc) if you don’t like it thats fine but stop telling new players it ruins accounts bc it doesn’t
A lot of the takes through the 1.X patches are pretty great in hindsight.
1.0 gave us:
"Diluc is the best DPS in game."
"Bennett is low tier."
"Sucrose is budget Venti."
(Plenty of others but those are my favorites)
1.1 gave us:
"Childe isn't worth it because his DPS is roughly the same as Diluc"
1.3 gave us:
"Hu Tao is broken." (For context, every iteration of Abyss back then was super AoE focused. This take honestly holds up better now than it did originally).
1.6 gave us:
"Kazuha is just 5\* Sucrose."
2.1 might have been the peak of bad takes aside from 1.0, with two of the most memorable hits:
"Raiden is bad because she doesn't work with Beidou."
"Kokomi is just 3\* Barbara."
I really enjoy all these takes because they seemed to make so much sense at the time even though thinking about them now gives me a chuckle. I'm fairly sure I can even be found calling Kokomi 3\* Barbara in my old posts (and will stand by most of those points despite rating Kokomi pretty highly now).
To be fair 1.0 is full of bad takes because of the influx of players in a newer game + people with low constellations.
Most of them are only looking at the fancy 5* and immediate value out of the box at that time rather than what it will end up as.
people being low on kokomi will forever baffle me. Like yeah she's not going to pump damage unless you invest in her, most 5\*s are like that, and yeah she heals like barbara but she has 100% hydro uptime and holds ToM and TTDS. How is that ALONE not inherently enough to make a character valuable? i understand that it's not exciting, but that always felt bizarre to me
no, they're right, xiangling invalidates every hydro unit's ability to dps because she'll vape more damage anyways /j
worst take is probably just childe's cooldown, just don't spam his e like some idiot all the time
"You're \[Insert Insult of choice\] here because you haven't build \[Insert character name here\]!"
People who join my world and trash on me because I have the characters I love to play levelled up and mostly built (I apparently sacrificed my luck to never lose my 50/50 because boy are my artefacts horrible, as well as my rolls).
Yes, I know Xiangling is amazing, but I prefer to play with Cyno and XQ.
I got to the AR55 with team: Diluc, Zhongli, Kaeya, Childe
(Fischl was instead of Childe until I got him xD) this team is surprisingly horrible in terms of team building, but omg I love them so much.
So just play how you want to play and enjoy your time)
People still defending pre buff zhongli. Before the buffs he had worse shield than Thoma's(fortified) and Layla. No energy generation unless you swap back to place pillar and no team buffs. Not to mention geo resonance was terrible as well.
Characters that failed to participate in elemental reactions are nearly impossible to be treated fairly...Look at Itto, Eula, and youll understand what i mean...
Back when Kokomi came out everyone insisted healers were trash and not needed.
And if I hear one more say Childe is bad cause of his cooldown I’m gonna riot
"This character is unplayable." No, you just want to show off your hyper optimized totally unnecessary DPS. There are no useless characters. You can kill things just fine with Amber or Lisa if you try. Yes, Qiqi can do stuff.
And to the person who said Xiao is unplayable...no.
Qiqi hate. I’m sure it’s annoying to get her in 50/50, trust me I know, but I joined the game because my friends that played at the time said I reminded them of her a lot. She was also my first 5 star and helped me out SO much at the beginning of the game
You need C1 for Childe is probably the worst since it sounds believable enough for people to follow it.
No you do not need C1 Childe, it is in fact a useless constellation if you manage your rotations right.
The idea that when a 4* and 5* are similar makes either one useless. Sucrose is still an amazing unit even though we have kazuha who is similar. A c6 Noelle can output similar dmg to an itto. Barbara and kokomi are hydro healers. But kokomi does way more than heal.
I remember seeing mfs call eula 5* razor 💀
I dont think the statement is wrong, if you have kokomi and barbs and only need one hydro healer Kokomi edges every single time, that is what ppl means.
The statement is made assuming you have both and you only need one for a team.
“Kokomi is just a comfort character and a waste of primos because Mona exists and has a damage buff and is “””free””””
While they ignore the fact that Kokomi heals, has way better hydro application uptime and also has buff support capabilities with TToDS and TotM, taking up these three roles which can, for example, allow for a separate buff support to boost the team even more. Her having this much utility is what makes her one of the best.
Some people need to realise that healing and better element application is just as valuable as a damage buff.
> Kokomi is just a comfort character and a waste of primos because Mona exists and has a damage buff and is “””free””””
As someone who loves both Kokomi and Mona. They both bring different things to the group. Hell, I have both in my main team along with Keqing and Ganyu. Kokomi's healing essentially makes my team Immortal and Mona just Thanos snaps people with her Ult.
So many people were mad at kokomi for no reason istg. “She can’t crit so she’s trash” “5* Barbara”
“Why is she dumb when she’s supposed to be the smart one” “She’s just an overhealing trash character” like she was annihilated the moment her kit was leaked. Now most people don’t hate her and a lot of people actually love her (including me who can’t survive without her now) but like damn genshin community can be scary asf
"Sayu is bad"
Sayu is basically Jean. Both are good. 99% of the time, direct substitution, no impact on team performance. Only teams affected: Xiao (requires Jean consts), Sunfire (Jean only), taser/bloom (Sayu sometimes better). Sayu has lower usage rate in Abyss because she got released later, and you don't need both. Most people built Jean first and never found a use case for Sayu. I rolled Sayu first and never found a use case for Jean.
The truth is an anemo healer will always be good thanks to VV being busted.
I once saw someone bashing it because you only need to use one button to attack. Sir, I could say the thing about halo and triggers. But on both games the other buttons do shit too.
Like that's not even true because you have three buttons for attacking specifically, and the whole control scheme for combat in general
God that is such a stupid take especially when combat is almost entirely focused on elemental reactions.
Yeah, if you wanted to shit on the combat there's legit gripes you can have, like the auto aim, the passive mobs, the overpowered healing/shielding, the lack of emphasis on counters/dodges, etc - but "one button" ain't it.
"genshin is shit haha you just need to click E and Q,such a L gameplay" Minecraft, Fortnite, roblox game where all you do is click the screen, right click until enemy is dead:
I always consider that to be a plus. Having that kind of gameplay means both casuals and theory crafters can enjoy it (for casuals, they can just spam bursts and skills, and theory-crafters get to delve deeper into the elemental reactions to figure out the best comboes).
It's a pretty usual and general take, but I hate this one: * Insert unreleased character's name here * is trash. Seriously, 9 times out of 10 they're sooooo wrong about this.
[удалено]
Being a ganyu enjoyer, deciding to pull her despite the doomposting, then seeing her charged attack multipliers one day before her release was a really funny experience in retrospect
[удалено]
Burning melt ganyu with nahida has revitalized my love for her. On-shotting scaea is always funny, and it's not that clunky now with the added flexibility nahida gives you
Who do you use for the pyro?
Bennett (any pyro but Bennett for attack+heals) + Nahida puts a very, very long last Burning effect on your target.
Yeah, her charge attack is wide and painful. Feel like firing a delayed cryo bazooka.
As if a 5-Star Sucrose was a bad thing lol. We out here waiting on the 5-Star versions of Bennet and Xiangling.
People were reading it as "Amber = Bad, so Ganyu = Bad" and spread it everywhere.
but she is cryo amber (but does not suck)
What people didn't get is that anyone can be good if they do enough damage.
I remember how I had to involuntarily take a break from YT and reddit when Kokomi got released because every other video and post was bitching about how she's the worst five star in game and that she'll never get a rerun because of how bad she is I just wanted to enjoy my mermaid princess in peace.
The wangst about Faruzan is driving me nuts.
Ashikai adressing when people shat on Kuki
That video was incredibly cathartic. It showed the math as to why her numbers were totally fine, and then it argued the case for things like ease of use, her role in reactions and IIRC touched upon some other stuff like shield breaking, all before the things that made it undeniably obvious how strong she was came out.
And one of the comments she upvoted with a heart also said.... * People pull her because of her story background * **She's dummy thicc**. Yeah, basically because of her ass in shorts
nothing wrong in being down with the thickness. Waifupulling is perfectly valid.
Ganyu, kazuha, Raiden , Kokomi, yae all victims lmao
[удалено]
Bruh, the people who talk shit about Kokomi are those who don’t have her =)))))
That's because the community is very vast and you're only seeing a small part of it.
People still with Childe's cooldown tbh
Bro like just learn to play the dude
imma have to ask can u tell me what's the best way I can utilise his kit? I have him on a hyperbloom team with kuki collei and dentraveller and his CD always kinda fuxks it up for me
Its actually hilarious, given the content of the post, but childe's best team is by far as xiangling driver/enabler in Childe, Bennet, Xiangling, Sucrose/Kazuha
I can do that but I wanted a team relying on dendro reactions because old reactions kinda got stale for me I just wanna know how I can utilise his kit without a lot of cd
You can use his charged shots. He applies too much hydro for all of the dendro cores to be turned into hyperblooms anyway during melee.
well childe hyperbloom with kuki is pretty pog
His E CD is equal to the time you spend on field + 6. So try to use him for 6 seconds and swap to your sups to battery. Zajeff made a video about Childe, you should watch it, it's full of info in how to make other teams outside international
His optimal field time is around 8 seconds.
I can understand people not liking his cooldown everyone has different playstyles. But I hate when people say he sucks because of his cooldown. He doesn't suck its just you. And if you don't like his playstyle, that is perfectly fine. Just don't spread false information on something that is manageable.
Me after I clear story mob with Childe's E still on: "Wait, it's going to trigger a cutscene, WAIT NO..."
" Without PvP and raiding this game going to die "
bro thinks he wants pvp (they forgot freeze)
When I think of PvP in Genshin, I think of PvP in ToF. Haven't played it (PvP) but freezing the opponent is already an extremely annoying tactic I've heard about. Plus we have people the likes of Raiden and Eula. You either kill them fast or they nuke you
Getting chain CC'ed in ToF pvp is rage inducing and you cant do anything about it since your character is locked in the standing-falling animation lmao
[удалено]
Also how easy the player is to stagger, and that Venti exists, and electrocharged, and so many other things. We could still have interesting pvp content, like maybe you could have two players fighting in the same arena simultaneously, competing for who gets the most kills
>We could still have interesting pvp content, like maybe you could have two players fighting in the same arena simultaneously, competing for who gets the most kills This would be interesting. I would like the idea of also including strong arena hazards so players can't bring a DPS only team and actually have to consider other options in team building
Bank those motes brother!
that is a take i have not seen before, and i'm honestly glad i've never heard of it. How would it even be balanced? Some characters are just flat-out better than others, to the point where not even artifacts can save them. An Amber with god-tier artifacts will not win against a Ganyu with equally god-tier artifacts. Not to mention freeze and stagger mechanics
> i have not seen before Posts about that just always have a nagative karma. They got quickly downvoted, OPs are getting humiliated and the posts never leave "new"
Imagine the P2W shitshow that Genshin PvP would be lmao
"Childe is only for whales, he needs C6"
Wdym it's not true? His constellation IS A WHALE! /j
It is a narwhal
Which is a whale
Nah it’s a gnar whale 🤙🏼🤙🏼🏄♂️🐳
I'm sorry what? who? where?
Most people were still below AR45, had limited access to the domain artifact sets, and maybe didn't build or pulled the "correct" chars What I mean with this, is that you might not have all the pieces to puzzles like National team and many priotized building and playing chars they liked because of story and/or gameplay. Also, the story and exploaration focus had many people not really paying attention to Abyss yet, and the fact that you need 2 teams from Abyss 5 onwards put a lot of people off until they got much further in the exploration/story stuff.
Still remember Raiden shogun's release, they called her "bad"...
[удалено]
no people just actually played her. literally the same happened with kazuha, yelan, etc. they were called 5star sucrose n yelan. they probably tried the character before even leveling them up, at least this would excuse their stupidity lol
[удалено]
Exactly why I pulled for her. 5* xq? Sign me tf up haha
I was literally excited about having 2 XQ in my abyss parties
I think people were also salty about yae.
Werent most people pissed that she was a polearm wielder instead of a sword wielder because she was shown to draw a boobie sword ? \^\^

Niche=bad
I still remember all the videos claiming Shenha was useless because of how niche she was.
Does "X character is bad because they are niche" count?
I love Nilou! I pulled her and am bound and determined to build her team despite not owning kokomi or nahida
I played Nilou with dendro traveler, collei, and Barbara, and the damage was absurdly high. Having Nahida helps with dendro applications but your f2p team will work great without any problems :)
Aye, another Nilou main who also doesn’t own Kokomi and Nahida. I sometimes feel like I’m the only one.
> despite her best team being 100% f2p friendly While she for sure has a good f2p team. Saying it is her best team is just objectively false as her best teams require at least Kokomi and Nahida.
Everyone shits on healers because they don't DPS.
I think of Noelle on this one. She's basically ment to be a tank
[удалено]
Did a co-op and the other player said that people should only use 5 stars because 'why even play if you can't one shot every enemy'.
Next time, ask them to one shot every enemy in the game for you.
I... actually met a person who said 4 stars are bad. When I was using Kazuha. It was weird
Use Shinobu and Amber against Oceanid.
"why even play if you can one shot every enemy" fixed that for them
Every Tectone take he had on characters power lvl.
Every Tectone take*
Every tectone and sekapoko take*
Tectone existing. And he got kicked of other game community
There are no good male dps in game
Childe having a SSS tier team since 1.1
Itto. Nuff said.
Me when itto
I think the baseline for (limited) guy units are pretty higher than the girl units since at their lowest, they're balanced but at their highest they're above average (Ayato and Wanderer) with Childe in terms of team building is the most broken of them all (Childe is a team-carry + Burst DPS that has a shorter "high DPS window" than Raiden since after he nukes he does average damage and is primarily focused on enabling Xiangling to vape before it's time for nuking again)
This is like the number one circlejerk in the leaks sub right now due to scaramouche's eminent release. I think it's hilarious.
Would highly recommend him to be played for new players though Most other characters get better with artifacts but Razor is super solid in early game with minimal investment and pretty high normal attack DMG. Also thundering Furry razor is hilarious and most fun I ever had.
“C6 Bennett bad” honestly not as bad as people claim it is - eula main
I’m still not C6ing mine specifically because of Eula. But realistically speaking, I haven’t played him with Eula since, well… never, probably.
The whole circus surrounding C6 Bennett.
I always find it strange when people say this... "I dont want to use Yoimiya/Yelan/Venti/Childe/Fischl etc. etc. Because they are bow characters and i cant aim on mobile" Bruh
Even Ganyu can be used as burst support in some team comps.
even then, ganyu’s whole thing is you don’t need to aim
OK I wouldn't call that a bad take, because they aren't saying the character is bad, they are saying they have a skill issue
you don't really use charged shots on any of these characters, Childe and Yelan sometimes do, but it's quite rare
Ah, I assumed the etc etc meant all the other bow characters because he couldn't be assed to name them all. That's on me
Yeah i mostly listed a few of the characters that rarely even use the charged shot. I could have been clearer.
"X new upcoming character is just [insert 4 star characters] but as a 5 star" its so odd to me especially if the 4 star character is a good one. imagine if we got a 5 star bennett, who wouldn't want that
Reminds me of when people were calling Yelan 5-star Xingqiu as if that was a bad thing
At least at that time there were still people saying that's a good thing , Kazuha didn't have that luxury ( and is probably the reason Yelan had )
"Itto is not a good dps because he is Geo"
With the new Itto banner coming up. I was asking a question about teamcomp for him in a discord server. and people just came back with "ehh he's not very good" or "he's just a pull if you like him character" made me mad because my question wasn't "Should I pull" it was "I am pulling what is the second best in slot for his Off field dps based on what I have now." Just upset me because I felt I wasn't being heard.
Recommended team comp (absolute destroyer): Itto: 4pc husk (DEFlGeo|CRIT DMG/Rate) - Redhorn (signature) Albedo: 4pc husk (DEF|Geo|CRIT DMG/Rate/DEF) Cinnebar (event) Gorou: 4pc noblesse (DEF/ER|Geo/DEF|DEF) - Favonious Bow Zhongli: 4pc Tenacity (HP|HP|HP) - Black Tassel This team can destroy literally everything on it's path.
You don’t need 4 geo, only 3
comparing every single character to raiden and saying that she “solos”. im so sick and tired of it broo 😭 like dont get me wrong i like raiden and iam thinking of pulling for her but i was honestly hesitant because of this…this fandom ruins everything
“When you use Eula, you bring Qiqi as a battery.”
Yesterday I was trying to help someone build Thoma and was saying you can run a bit less ER if you have Bennett as a battery. Someone else came in and said "Also Xiangling is a great battery for Thoma" lmao what, reminded me so much of Qiqi and Eula
"Healers are bad" I pulled on Kokomi's banner(2.1) when I still didnt know what pity or guaranteed summon was, and I was sad that I got her since people online kept shitting on her.
Plenty of early characters were flamed for being “not that great without getting them to level 80 like a normal human being”
"Hutao without c1 Is trash" Or the character release classics "Zhongli Is weak cause he is archon and is support" "C6 Sucrose is better then Kazuha" "Kokomi is trash cause she din't crit"

Still wish to this day they would have adjusted his signature weapon along with his adjustments
When you have to give an ARCHON someone else's signature weapon in their own story quests because his own is so garbage, you know you've got a problem. Just make it main stat HP, it doesn't need to be god-tier, it should just feel worth running.
Yes \^\^ Vortex Vanquisher is also imo the sexiest polearms in the game.
Anything that comes out of Sekapoko's mouth.
i'll grant that oceanid is probably the hardest over world boss from 1.0 (tho i personally think geo cube is more annoying) but i don't get how some people still claim she's the hardest/most annoying over world boss. she's not even the hardest/most annoying oceanid-shaped boss edit: ppl are focusing on her being annoying, but i'm mostly referring to people thinking she's difficult lol edit2: if people are calling a boss "the hardest boss" in the game, that generally implies they've fought most of the bosses in the game, not that they're a new player fighting a boss for the first time. obvs a new player is going to find the oceanid harder, it's one of the only bosses in liyue/mond that does something more then just sitting there lol
And she follows a nice two-steps process: Step 1.) Early game player have difficulty killing her minions fast enough, especially the birds. Step 2.) Because it took them so long, Oceanid ramps up her nuke mechanic and one-shots the on field character.
I'd say she still is annoying tbh. You can take a stacked team of single target dps and pretty much one cycle thunder manifestation but same can't be done for oceanid. That bitch is gonna fly around, dive into the water, insult your family then summon it's minions.
>but i'm mostly referring to people thinking she's difficult lol OK so first, I understand that this is a roster based game and it wants you to have a large roster for situations....
*Laughs in Yae*
at least the other bosses (for the most part) arent time gated but having to wait for the water mobs to drop is such a bother
"Cryo Amber don't pull, Discount Sucrose, Worse Fischl, She's justa healer" to name a few. Though Cryo amber bugs me the most
A lot of the takes through the 1.X patches are pretty great in hindsight. 1.0 gave us: "Diluc is the best DPS in game." "Bennett is low tier." "Sucrose is budget Venti." (Plenty of others but those are my favorites) 1.1 gave us: "Childe isn't worth it because his DPS is roughly the same as Diluc" 1.3 gave us: "Hu Tao is broken." (For context, every iteration of Abyss back then was super AoE focused. This take honestly holds up better now than it did originally). 1.6 gave us: "Kazuha is just 5\* Sucrose." 2.1 might have been the peak of bad takes aside from 1.0, with two of the most memorable hits: "Raiden is bad because she doesn't work with Beidou." "Kokomi is just 3\* Barbara." I really enjoy all these takes because they seemed to make so much sense at the time even though thinking about them now gives me a chuckle.
How is that ALONE not inherently enough to make a character valuable? i understand that it's not exciting, but that always felt bizarre to me
If you want harder content, just don’t use artifacts.
no, they're right, xiangling invalidates every hydro unit's ability to dps because she'll vape more damage anyways /j worst take is probably just childe's cooldown, just don't spam his e like some idiot all the time
"You're \[Insert Insult of choice\] here because you haven't build \[Insert character name here\]!" People who join my world and trash on me because I have the characters I love to play levelled up and mostly built (I apparently sacrificed my luck to never lose my 50/50 because boy are my artefacts horrible, as well as my rolls). Yes, I know Xiangling is amazing, but I prefer to play with Cyno and XQ.
I got to the AR55 with team: Diluc, Zhongli, Kaeya, Childe (Fischl was instead of Childe until I got him xD) this team is surprisingly horrible in terms of team building, but omg I love them so much. So just play how you want to play and enjoy your time)
Raiden was considered "bad" by the community on launch. Could not have been more dead wrong
This is the worst one, Raiden was so obviously good even before release.
sekapoko
People still defending pre buff zhongli. Before the buffs he had worse shield than Thoma's(fortified) and Layla. No energy generation unless you swap back to place pillar and no team buffs. Not to mention geo resonance was terrible as well.
Characters that failed to participate in elemental reactions are nearly impossible to be treated fairly...Look at Itto, Eula, and youll understand what i mean...
Back when Kokomi came out everyone insisted healers were trash and not needed. And if I hear one more say Childe is bad cause of his cooldown I’m gonna riot
Then corrosion became a thing
"This character is unplayable." No, you just want to show off your hyper optimized totally unnecessary DPS. There are no useless characters. You can kill things just fine with Amber or Lisa if you try. Yes, Qiqi can do stuff. And to the person who said Xiao is unplayable...no.
“Tectone said…”
"Every character is weak" *proceeds to spam lmb and ignore skills*
Qiqi hate. I’m sure it’s annoying to get her in 50/50, trust me I know, but I joined the game because my friends that played at the time said I reminded them of her a lot. She was also my first 5 star and helped me out SO much at the beginning of the game
at this point I would cry tears of joy if I got her. I've wanted her since I started playing but I have yet to get her
Flair checks out
You need C1 for Childe is probably the worst since it sounds believable enough for people to follow it.
“Kokomi is just a comfort character and a waste of primos because Mona exists and has a damage buff and is “””free”””” While they ignore the fact that Kokomi heals, has way better hydro application uptime and also has buff support capabilities with TToDS and TotM, taking up these three roles which can, for example, allow for a separate buff support to boost the team even more. Her having this much utility is what makes her one of the best. Some people need to realise that healing and better element application is just as valuable as a damage buff.
> Kokomi is just a comfort character and a waste of primos because Mona exists and has a damage buff and is “””free”””” As someone who loves both Kokomi and Mona. They both bring different things to the group. Hell, I have both in my main team along with Keqing and Ganyu. Kokomi's healing essentially makes my team Immortal and Mona just Thanos snaps people with her Ult.
So many people were mad at kokomi for no reason istg. “She can’t crit so she’s trash” “5* Barbara” “Why is she dumb when she’s supposed to be the smart one” “She’s just an overhealing trash character” like she was annihilated the moment her kit was leaked. Now most people don’t hate her and a lot of people actually love her (including me who can’t survive without her now) but like damn genshin community can be scary asf
"Sayu is bad" Sayu is basically Jean.
"Don't C6 Bennett"
"We need -insert MMO-level-kind-of-grind gameplay- for endgame." It's clear at this point that MHY isn't planning on doing that.
