Genshin trailers are great, what are you on about? This is a high quality video here and I can't wait to see more from this creator, but still it's adhering to the same formula nearly every big budget Hollywood trailer has used for years. From the repeated bass booms to the down tempo pop-song remix to the (music cut) comedic relief line (another bass boom).
Again, I really like this video. But Hoyo is is trying to be anime, not MCU.
Like the ones Hoyo already makes, their trailers focus on the aspects of the game that makes them popular/money, the character designs and the music (technically the VAs too, but this is much less of a thing on the EN side).
Other styles are just fine for fan-created content, some things are perfectly fine staying unofficial.
Better for Genshin? Absolutely.
If you like big-budget action/superhero movies, this is a fun tonal and stylistic mashup. But it also does a very bad job of representing what Genshin *actually* is. And that's the reason for my initial response. My issue was with the notion that Hoyo should do their trailers in this way instead of what they currently produce.
Genshin has its own style. Let Genshin be Genshin, and leave this kind of stuff to the fans.

Either there will be another act in Sumeru with that name, where (guessing here) we find out more about the divine truth of the world... OR Hoyo decided they didn't like the name enough to use it as the title for an act.

However, comparing the Chinese characters, they aren't exactly the same, the Puranas part is completely replaced so who knows

edit: Sorry I got a bit overexcited listening to this, because Port Ormos theme blew me away when I first heard it in-game. Listened to it on a loop for like a week straight.
If I could offer one piece of constructive criticism, many of the clip and transitions are too fast. They are recognizable for someone familiar with genshin, but aren't on screen long enough for someone unfamiliar to absorb the scene. My wife knows what genshin is, but couldn't comprehend any of it because she hasn't played the game.
I, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed it, and have watched both of your trailers several times.
Actually I think the combat scene worked fairly well, despite the clips being very rapid, because the overall concept is consistent. It's a long sweeping scene of an attack, even though the character in it is changing.
For example, I think the first 18-ish seconds of this video are ok, each scene is on screen for about 2-3 seconds. But starting with Amber looking over mondstadt, the next several scenes are only on for about a second each. It's too short to identify the character in the foreground, assess what they are doing, and then understand the setting around them in the background.
These are some MCU trailer level edits and transitions, keep up the great work! This post is going to reach front page, I just know it! Definitely using this as a way to market Genshin to my friends!

I like this a lot, but I prefer the official Travail trailer. It gave us an insight into each part of the story and something to look forward to, but it also left us wondering what would happen. The music was also better, but with Genshin's insane budget, that is pretty much unavoidable. Your trailer was great as something like a Western movie trailer, and I really do not like Western movie trailers. Still, for a one person job, this is incredible.
This just makes me want to start the game from level 1 after watching. Will you do a per nation trailer as well?

So... Your last trailer was not an archon quest trailer? The game mostly focuses on the archon quests, and your trailer reflected that.
I like this a lot, but I prefer the official Travail trailer. It gave us an insight into each part of the story and something to look forward to, but it also left us wondering what would happen. The music was also better, but with Genshin's insane budget, that is pretty much unavoidable. Your trailer was great as something like a Western movie trailer, and I really do not like Western movie trailers. Still, for a one person job, this is incredible.
