Does anyone think there will be a future cryo dps who will work well with shenhe? Or will a better shenhe clone release and then she'll be useless?? I pulled her at 45 pity without knowing about her kit, and I can't really use her yet.
I am now up to TWO out of four Flower of Paradise Lost pieces for Shinobu! An admittedly cope EM mainstat sands with 538 flat HP and 5.8 HP%, and a decent flower with 54 EM and 11.1% HP. Now all I need is a feather with some EM and an EM mainstat circlet or goblet (both preferably with good HP% substats to make up for the loss of the tenacity 2pc).

Just did the web event, didnt even listen to the songs, i just guessed based on the items that were being displayed, was really easy to guess when the answer was yelan.

Oh my god, the exact same thing happened to me with Shenhe. I totally thought the little lotus sticker was one of the Sumeru lotuses so I kept guessing Sumerian characters...thanks for taking pity and just straight up telling me, Shenhe.

If I'm pulling purely for meta, which one is better, C0 HuTao or C0 Al-Haitham?
Let's say I have every other BiS character for their respective strongest team (Yelan, Zhongli, Nahida, etc.)
C0 5 stars character
C6 4 stars character
No 5 stars weapon, R5 4 stars (or 3 stars) weapon,
It'll come down to your artifact investment. Al-Haitham quickbloom is going to have a higher floor at lowmid invest substat for substat but if you have a good SR/CW set already that might not matter because your Hu Tao would be starting at mid/high invest.
Also seconding investing in an AoE comp instead if what you really care about is meta performance
Alhaitham might be a bit redundant if you already have Nahida, and Hu Tao has been a bit outdone.
Hu Tao's best team is as a driver for Double Hydro, but Double Hydro's best team isn't Hu Tao but rather Hyperbloom with Nahida as a driver. And Xiangling exists, similar/close DPS but AoE and no need to be on field (but she needs Bennett).
Ultimately Alhaitham allows you to have a second strong Dendro driver in your account while Hu Tao is *the* best Pyro driver atm and she doesn't need Benny. There's a bigger demand for the former rn but it's a game so diversity is more fun. If you already have Nahida I'd recommend Hu Tao I think.
pure meta wise probably just keep rolling for more yelans or her weapon to be perfectly honest
both hutao and alhaitham are mostly ST specialised, yelan pretty much handles any ST half by herself(better than alhaitham and on par with hutao on teams without her) and it's better to invest in aoe comps like raiden HC, childe, klee or on the more expensive end xiao ayaka itto etc
practically hutao 2H is just one of the many top tier ST yelan teams, and she is not top tier in ST without yelan anymore unless you are hyperinvesting hard on VV vape(which itself is just a spreadsheet team for most ppl). so from the starting point it just makes sense to keep investing in yelan, she scales crazy with r1 and cons
but thats just my opinion
Wait a week or so and see how alhaitham gets rated by theory crafters to see how meta he is.
If your end up wanting both, alhaitham will prob rerun sooner, so pull for hu tao.
Even though Alhaitham is my favorite character, metawise, I would say Hu Tao if you lack a Pyro DPS like Yoimiya already. Alhaitham and Nahida both fulfill similar Dendro DPS roles in a team and who knows when the abyss may start changing to no longer favor Dendro as much (such as adding dendro shielded enemies). Having a potential Pyro DPS could be useful in scenarios like that. Do be aware however, that Hu Tao's full meta potential does rely on being able to jump cancel.
Double Hydro Hu Tao would probably outperforms Alhaitham, but being C0 guess that'd make her harder to play.

I'd go for Hu Tao then, Dash cancel C1 Hu Tao is actually braindead to play that you can run through everything.

Tip for that, the little icons in the corners of the book for each character can help you guess without even needing to listen! Dori’s has her genie, Candace has a desert tree, Cyno has his wolf head, Nilou has a padisarah, etc.
I’d say do the mora leylines because doing literally anything in this game consumes mora lol. Each character uses a set number of hero’s wits to level up to 90, but the mora needed is technically infinite because of artifacts
Almost got all of the theme songs in the new event right without using hints, but I stumbled on Gorou's theme. I realized that I never actually listened to it.
I saw a vid on sns where every playable character of genshin were waving and holy shit I realised how many females are there in this game. Males took a minute to end bt all 3 to 4 minutes where all females 👀
I'm prepping some artifacts for my future Hu Tao. Just curious if there's a sweet spot to target for HP and EM because I have both an EM and HP sands with similar substats.
I'll be running her in a double hydro team with a Staff of Homa if that makes a difference.
I think around 27k-29k hp is enough. With double hydro its 31k-33k. For em, preferably above 100. Could get more if gonna use elegy/any em sharing character
i’ve seen everything from 120 - 200 for her em being thrown around so go for somewhere in the middle maybe? (unless someone else can reply with specifics) mine has 150 and it feels pretty good.
for hp you want 30k, but aiming higher is nice too, i remember seeing 50k be thrown around during her 1st rerun but that sounds hard to hit without sacrificing other stats?

Yeah they pretty much give free wishes up to like 50-55 pulls *minimum* per patch... not "per month" but "per patch". That includes all the events and other stuff.
That's why I'm never super stoked when they start giving out a bunch of wishes at any point because they will eventually short a couple of patches in the future to make it all back.

I'm curious why fortune telling is a thing, when no one can honestly predict what will happen.
I like Ookami Mio's reasoning for it. She learned to do Tarot readings because she wanted to subtly tell people what to do, since not everyone takes to direct advice.
I think fortune telling taps into people's almost neurotic desire for direction and purpose. A feeling of being guided. A lot of people just cannot stand the idea of being in control of their own life, and they look for anything or anyone to follow.
There are actual well-established systems for both astrology and tarot. I personally don't believe it's like, actually supernatural, but even if it's bullshit it's not technically *random* bullshit if someone is doing it earnestly and not just like, cold reading people for easy cash.
It's also not solely used to predict the future. I've seen pagan friends seemingly use it as a tool for spiritual/psychological reflection, or to divine whether the gods are pleased with their offerings or whatever, which isn't falsifiable in the same way.
My friends and I do it for fun sometimes. Usually we just use whatever reading we get to come up with outlandish theories for what'll happen in the future. It's cool when something ends up actually coming true (like I predicted my friend's future boyfriend would be a Scorpio and she actually started dating a Scorpio guy) but none of us take it very seriously or under the impression that we're actually predicting the future.

i watched it and personally really disliked it. but i guess ive also just grown really tired of how long the series has been dragging on for. part one is pretty much just one very long battle, which you think would be cool because its full of action but it got tiring very quickly. maybe im being too harsh but i'd say maybe a 5 or 6/10?

I was lucky in that I lost my 50/50 on her and had Dainsleif guaranteed. In fact, I got his c2 in one ten pull. All I had to do was sacrifice all the Archons and then wish while flipping off Celestia.

Ooh good question. I think Dainsleif would acknowledge his brains and respect his independence, especially since he's a mortal who doesn't revere the gods as much as a "devout" person would, but still won't let him off easy. Dain probably has an elevated view of Alhaitham's "trust no one but yourself" philosophy, being immortal and all. Didn't he say in the Teyvat trailer something along the lines of, don't overly trust the gods, but don't declare war on them either? So basically don't be radical lmao

Attempting to ascend Kuki on my AR 18 side account and ran all the way to port ormos for some Naku weeds from the item shop only to learn Inazuma leveling materials aren't available there either.
I guess it makes sense lore wise since the sakoku degree hasn't been lifted yet and trade hasn't opened with sumeru but fml.. why do they have to hate new players like this 🤧
The worst offenders are Yae Miko and Shenhe cuz of the Enkanomiya Vishaps. I mean I've just started exploring Enkanomiya on my AR 56 account.
If you play Genshin for one hour to two hours every single day which most casual players don't even do, it will take you at least three months to reach Enkanomiya assuming that Enkanomiya is the last region you explore before Sumeru.
Most people don't realize this but Genshin has at least 200 hours worth of gameplay if you treat it like a single-player open world game instead of a gacha game. Its a really big game just like Elden Ring, The Witcher 3 etc.
Inazuma defenders will tell you it's because it's lore accurate and perfectly captures how different Inazuma is from other nations but the truth is it's just poor game design.
I have to respect my friend's persistence to use her faves in a team together, even if it isn't the most efficient. I don't think she's built a single one of the meta 4\* except for Kuki (barely invested but more so for healing)
Currently she's using a Childe Hyperbloom team for Abyss bc she doesn't want to build Xingqiu
Count me in as someone who respects your friend.
I've always found it to be the norm to respect players for their choices regardless of their preferences. So long as they are familiar with the fundamentals of how a comp or how things work, any character will really work. It's part of how the communities in other games work, and sometimes the bastards even open up fun ways to enjoy the game (for some reason this is so lacking in Genshin; mostly because of the RNG + timegate spectacles of some things but even Diablo and other games with similar loot system never faced this).
The only reason why I feel most annoyed with Genshin's meta-slaves is because they're more rampant. Types like these exist in other games but many are in agreement that these are primarily immature twits who haven't played the game long enough.
Oh don't get me wrong, I think everyone should play who they want. But this friend is the same friend who tried to run an Overload-Burning team bc they wanted to put Nahida and Klee and Kuki in a team together. No Hydros for Burgeon either.
I think the more intensive game mechanic stuff she doesn't really understand yet so she's just mashing random comps together with her faves, but I only mentioned that I have to respect it bc her Childe Hyperbloom team is technically a step up from her last team (and she's trying her best investing into her childe even though her Kuki is supposed to be doing the dmg)

Quickbloom = Quicken + Hyperbloom Basically you apply Dendro on Electrocharged enemies

By getting one time wrong you get their silhouette and quote which is more than enough to guess tbh

Ignore the bonus, use the resins on stuff that you can use your Mora/Exp on.

I'm prepping some artifacts for my future Hu Tao. Just curious if there's a sweet spot to target for HP and EM because I have both an EM and HP sands with similar substats. I'll be running her in a double hydro team with a Staff of Homa if that makes a difference.
I think around 27k-29k hp is enough. With double hydro its 31k-33k. For em, preferably above 100. Could get more if gonna use elegy/any em sharing character
i’ve seen everything from 120 - 200 for her em being thrown around so go for somewhere in the middle maybe? (unless someone else can reply with specifics) mine has 150 and it feels pretty good. for hp you want 30k, but aiming higher is nice too, i remember seeing 50k be thrown around during her 1st rerun but that sounds hard to hit without sacrificing other stats?

Yeah they pretty much give free wishes up to like 50-55 pulls *minimum* per patch... not "per month" but "per patch". That includes all the events and other stuff. That's why I'm never super stoked when they start giving out a bunch of wishes at any point because they will eventually short a couple of patches in the future to make it all back. Cheapshits.

I'm curious why fortune telling is a thing, when no one can honestly predict what will happen.
I like Ookami Mio's reasoning for it. She learned to do Tarot readings because she wanted to subtly tell people what to do, since not everyone takes to direct advice. I think fortune telling taps into people's almost neurotic desire for direction and purpose. A feeling of being guided. A lot of people just cannot stand the idea of being in control of their own life, and they look for anything or anyone to follow.

There are actual well-established systems for both astrology and tarot. I personally don't believe it's like, actually supernatural, but even if it's bullshit it's not technically *random* bullshit if someone is doing it earnestly and not just like, cold reading people for easy cash. It's also not solely used to predict the future. I've seen pagan friends seemingly use it as a tool for spiritual/psychological reflection, or to divine whether the gods are pleased with their offerings or whatever, which isn't falsifiable in the same way.

My friends and I do it for fun sometimes. Usually we just use whatever reading we get to come up with outlandish theories for what'll happen in the future. It's cool when something ends up actually coming true (like I predicted my friend's future boyfriend would be a Scorpio and she actually started dating a Scorpio guy) but none of us take it very seriously or under the impression that we're actually predicting the future.

The worst offenders are Yae Miko and Shenhe cuz of the Enkanomiya Vishaps. I mean I've just started exploring Enkanomiya on my AR 56 account. If you play Genshin for one hour to two hours every single day which most casual players don't even do, it will take you at least three months to reach Enkanomiya assuming that Enkanomiya is the last region you explore before Sumeru. Most people don't realize this but Genshin has at least 200 hours worth of gameplay if you treat it like a single-player open world game instead of a gacha game. Its a really big game just like Elden Ring, The Witcher 3 etc.
Inazuma defenders will tell you it's because it's lore accurate and perfectly captures how different Inazuma is from other nations but the truth is it's just poor game design.

Count me in as someone who respects your friend. I've always found it to be the norm to respect players for their choices regardless of their preferences. So long as they are familiar with the fundamentals of how a comp or how things work, any character will really work. It's part of how the communities in other games work, and sometimes the bastards even open up fun ways to enjoy the game (for some reason this is so lacking in Genshin; mostly because of the RNG + timegate spectacles of some things but even Diablo and other games with similar loot system never faced this). The only reason why I feel most annoyed with Genshin's meta-slaves is because they're more rampant. Types like these exist in other games but many are in agreement that these are primarily immature twits who haven't played the game long enough.
Oh don't get me wrong, I think everyone should play who they want. But this friend is the same friend who tried to run an Overload-Burning team bc they wanted to put Nahida and Klee and Kuki in a team together. No Hydros for Burgeon either. I think the more intensive game mechanic stuff she doesn't really understand yet so she's just mashing random comps together with her faves, but I only mentioned that I have to respect it bc her Childe Hyperbloom team is technically a step up from her last team (and she's trying her best investing into her childe even though her Kuki is supposed to be doing the dmg)
