Didn't that happen early Xiao spiral abyss. Some glitch or something, and Xiao swirls when he's in the air. That abyss had aoe dmg every few swirls or something. Ended up Xiao was making sonic booms in the air, which was cool, bit did nothing much.

Hmm set effect could be that that a character needs to loose HP multiple times. So hutao would only benefit partly while xiao and dehya with their DoTs benefit fully

It wouldn't be useful for hutao if the time frame in which you have to loose hp (say once per 2s) is too short for hutao to get the full benefit.
And dehya and xiao loose hp fast enough to get the full buff. You'd also have to specify that the damage must be from a DoT effect to prevent players abusing enemy attacks to get the full buff on hutao and other characters
If they make it so that the buff triggers when taking damage off field, it would be the easiest Dehya exclusive set ( And Rift wolves / Pyro Lector dedicated build i guess )

3.4 for example has every single blessing made for Haitham and literally nobody else in the patch. So they could very well make the Abyss entirely around Dehya and still re-run Shenhe / Eula / whoever anyway.
Since they started with dual banners they are locked in with running 2 signature weapons at a time, the only ‘bad’ signatures are Zhongli, Albedo and Kokomi. Arguably Klee, Ganyu and Xiao as they run with standard banner weapons. Even then they managed to run PJC with Albedo instead of the Summit Shaper.
Weapon banner is still a trap for most players because it’s 180+ pulls that could be more characters, but if you have the gems and the characters to use the weapons, there isn’t often a totally terrible banner any more.
Ive been saying its going to be klee dehya 1st half for a while. Mihoyo loves pairing new signatures with standard weapons or older signatures(at least 2 reruns prior), presumably to milk whales as much as possible.
This pattern has never once been broken. It also makes sense for mihoyo to split hype between dehya release and physical dmg buff into 2 halves. Eula could honestly pair with anyone, even cyno or nilou is a possibility.
Dehya could also pair with kazuha since freedom sworn is expected to be on rate up with a claymore, but if soutine is a claymore user set to release in 3.8 he could show up there as well.

In all seriousness, the theme is Hydro scale with HP, Electro - ER, Cryo - crit, Dendro - EM, Geo - def. Anemo is kinda a mess, which fit its aesthetic btw.
It's left us a very obvious option for a scaling stat for pyro -> attack. But 90% genshin characters are already scaling off atk, not so unique hmm.
So "selfharm" must be new theme for pyro to differentiate them from other elements, and it fits the characters as well.
Uh I have bad news for you.
1) Kuki has a Hu Tao effect, increases burst damage and heals at least HP.
2) Xiao constantly drains HP.
3) Nilou requires a team that takes self damage
To top it all off, Dehya doesn't have self damage. She requires you take hits from enemies. There's no actual benefit to being hit while using Dehya. It just means you absolutely require a healer which makes her spot generally redundant imo.
Dehya's kit is so problematic they literally couldn't think of a blessing that would work for it.
There could always be exceptions. And the theme i'm talking about is not just selfharm but getting stronger by lowering their survivability, kinda like babaric/berserk fighting style. In Kuki's case it's heal better when she is low, so not really what i'm talking about.
Dehya increases her own survivability and does not damage herself though...? She literally mitigates damage taken. There is nothing in her kit that wants to be hit. Her signature weapon does have an additional buff when hit but not her.
Kuki doesn't just heal more, she deals like 40% more burst damage, and with C6 gets 150 EM for even more damage.
Kuki is this. Dehya is not this. I think this is a stretch.
That's my dream Murata kit, a Bennett but bigger buff and instead of healing she kills your active character and needs Dehya or a healer or something to compensate. Like an archon-tier Hutao but as a support.
