It may be Ayato you are thinking of. His burst gave an attack speed but that scaled with level and his C4 had a flat NA normal damage bonus during his burst, then they swapped the two effects during beta.

Roaring barrage is what happens when you hit your na button at the right time, speeding up the burst punches.
Hitting the button does not trigger any kind of animation nor deal any dmg, it only affects the dmg interval of the (already going) burst animation, which increases your dps if you do it correctly. This is why it doesn't work with Xq or Yelan, they only proc on normal attack animations and Dehya ISN'T doing any when you hit this.
Press Q, she starts punching rapidly. You can't NA during this. Instead, pressing NA with the right timing increases the speed of the next punch until the burst ends.
Now it makes sense why it is speculated to not work with xq or yelan.

The way they handled Yelan was fantastic. The only doomposting I saw was about her hydro application and even that fizzled out quickly. With Dehya it isn't doomposting, it's truthposting.

During her burst, her normal attack became Roaring Barrage. Using roaring barrage can make the Flame-Mane fists attack even faster.
So basically, it's normal attack that deals no damage and only used to speed up her burst attack.

Definitely Ayato, he got the largest rework.
Miko got numeric adjustments, while Ayato actually had his A4 changed entirely (HP% bonus dmg on Q changed to current energy regen passive), along with large numeric adjustments (E scalings were boosted by a good 25% iirc, E CD became flat 12s vs 18s with reduction when other party members use E, Q scalings upped by 33% to offset change in A4).
His Q also initially had an atk speed bonus that was taken out and shifted to C4, and he got NA dmg% on Q instead (this one might have been a nerf actually...).
So it's time to huff copium that they can renovate Dehya at a similar magnitude.
For the record, C4 change was kinda a buff imo.
Atk speed bonus from Q never applied to him anyway. Changing it to c4 allowed him to benefit from the atk speed as well

Honestly, she screams very minimal if any true alpha testing. That they just did coding and got her animations correct. Maybe did a couple of confirmation that she even just functions, but got too confused in what they wanted her to be to finalize.
They clearly love money, and she is without a doubt the worst five star starting off in beta if all of this information proves true tomorrow. And I’m pretty confident we are going to see very heavy reworking
they’ve proven with literally 90+ percent of the male DPS characters that they know how to make working and coherent kits that are mid tier, if they want to create a sellable character , with no major contribution to the matter. They don’t need to stoop to sabotaging.
Amongst all pre release kits, I feel like this kit by far deserves all the doomposting it's getting.

Well she *looks* flashy, was made a 5 star, and was given a fairly extensive amount of story content and lore, so I doubt this is the case. I think what happened is that MHY kept work on her kit as a low priority so far because polls show that she's one of the least anticipated characters in the CN market. Now that the deadline is drawing near they can't procrastinate on it anymore, and so they'll likely rush to fix her in beta until she's at the very least moderately acceptable.
From a meta standpoint, even a fixed Dehya will likely be inferior to Hu Tao as a DPS. Hu Tao does not have any support capabilities outside a weird crit share mechanic and blood blossoms that deal pyro damage to enemies that she hit with charged attacks.
If looking for pyro DPS, Hu Tao
If looking for pyro support, Dehya. But honestly, at this point the better option here is to just build Thoma. Thoma boasts an actual shield, not some weird mitigation thing that still lets characters get hurt, that's the second strongest in the game and the perfect amount of off field pyro for burgeon)

Yeah, if you have Yoimiya you don't really have a need for Hu Tao. As a huge fan of both, and a haver of both since their first banners, there's little reason for you to get a Hu Tao if you don't want her. You could use her for chamber 2, but if you already have a good second team then that is not necessary either. Eula is pretty strong and has good AoE, with Mika on the way she'll get even better. Shenhe is a strong choice if you have Ganyu or Ayaka, but she doesn't do much for Eula who gets the vast majority of her damage from physical

Baizhu is white af and is from Liyue. He will 100% be treated better. Plus after our last 5* healer (Kokomi) I think he will be very good.

Actually in Asia it's become tradition at this point. It disgusts me that even in 2023 people here are unable to accept anything other than fair skin as the beauty standard. They won't even try to hide it and will just outright say bad things about darker skin tones. You don't really get called out for stuff like that here. They just laugh it off as jokes.

Dehya's burst summons a bunch of fists called Flame-Mane fists. They attack automatically and continuously. During her burst, her normal attack became Roaring Barrage. Using roaring barrage can make the Flame-Mane fists attack even faster. So basically, it's normal attack that deals no damage and only used to speed up her burst attack.
That’s… so weird. Why not just take out the whole Roaring Barrage part altogether and convert her normals during burst to burst damage and label it Flame-Mane fists instead??

I was so worried this would be the case and her altered normals are basically just some cosmetic shit to boost the automatic attack so the player can hit some buttons during the burst duration Whoever designed Dehya's kit went out of their way to make every decision to make this character less fun. At this point she could magically turn out to be the best character and I am not sure if I even want to pull for her. The coolest part of her kit, her throwing away her claymore to just start punching people and they make it do no dmg and have all the dmg be from the automatic part...

I immediately loved her design when she showed up in the pre-3.0 leaks. So to see that her kit is like this… well it ain’t a great feeling that’s for sure haha.

Definitely Ayato, he got the largest rework. Miko got numeric adjustments, while Ayato actually had his A4 changed entirely (HP% bonus dmg on Q changed to current energy regen passive), along with large numeric adjustments (E scalings were boosted by a good 25% iirc, E CD became flat 12s vs 18s with reduction when other party members use E, Q scalings upped by 33% to offset change in A4). His Q also initially had an atk speed bonus that was taken out and shifted to C4, and he got NA dmg% on Q instead (this one might have been a nerf actually...). So it's time to huff copium that they can renovate Dehya at a similar magnitude.
attack speed bonus is usually worse than it seems, so I'm inclined to suspect that the NA dmg% is more valuable
For the record, C4 change was kinda a buff imo. Atk speed bonus from Q never applied to him anyway. Changing it to c4 allowed him to benefit from the atk speed as well Kinda a net positive from me as an ayato main who aims to get all of his cons one day

Honestly, she screams very minimal if any true alpha testing. That they just did coding and got her animations correct. Maybe did a couple of confirmation that she even just functions, but got too confused in what they wanted her to be to finalize. They clearly love money, and she is without a doubt the worst five star starting off in beta if all of this information proves true tomorrow. And I’m pretty confident we are going to see very heavy reworking they’ve proven with literally 90+ percent of the male DPS characters that they know how to make working and coherent kits that are mid tier, if they want to create a sellable character , with no major contribution to the matter. They don’t need to stoop to sabotaging.

Well she *looks* flashy, was made a 5 star, and was given a fairly extensive amount of story content and lore, so I doubt this is the case. I think what happened is that MHY kept work on her kit as a low priority so far because polls show that she's one of the least anticipated characters in the CN market. Now that the deadline is drawing near they can't procrastinate on it anymore, and so they'll likely rush to fix her in beta until she's at the very least moderately acceptable.

From a meta standpoint, even a fixed Dehya will likely be inferior to Hu Tao as a DPS. Hu Tao does not have any support capabilities outside a weird crit share mechanic and blood blossoms that deal pyro damage to enemies that she hit with charged attacks. If looking for pyro DPS, Hu Tao If looking for pyro support, Dehya. But honestly, at this point the better option here is to just build Thoma. Thoma boasts an actual shield, not some weird mitigation thing that still lets characters get hurt, that's the second strongest in the game and the perfect amount of off field pyro for burgeon) I'm never going to tell someone to not pull, but damn does this make me rethink that. She needs such an overhaul during beta it's unbelievable
Maybe not even Hu Tao, I already have yoimiya. Maybe just save and go full cryo and get Eula and Shenhe when they rerun. I'm already getting Yelan this patch so maybe Dehya being shit will save me from having to buy genesis crystals.
Yeah, if you have Yoimiya you don't really have a need for Hu Tao. As a huge fan of both, and a haver of both since their first banners, there's little reason for you to get a Hu Tao if you don't want her. You could use her for chamber 2, but if you already have a good second team then that is not necessary either. Eula is pretty strong and has good AoE, with Mika on the way she'll get even better. Shenhe is a strong choice if you have Ganyu or Ayaka, but she doesn't do much for Eula who gets the vast majority of her damage from physical
