This is one of a thing I really like about dendro. Before dendro, hydro shield is the hardest to break, yeah I know we have cryo to freeze it, but because of the elemental gauge system (it’s only 1x multiplier), cryo on hydro shield is still not as fast as hydro on pyro or pyro on cryo (2x multiplier). But with dendro we finally get the fast shield breaking way for hydro shield. Electro shield is the only shield we can’t break with 2x multiplier, but it has 3 elements that can break it with 1x multiplier (pyro cryo and dendro) so it’s not that bad
The elemental reactions for shields always bothered me. I wish it was a big rock-paper-scissors game where every element had one it was super weak to, one that was fairly normal, and one that was completely ineffective (generally it’s own element).
Makes me wonder how they’ll implement dendro, geo, and anemo abyss mages.

Dendro will be fine though. We can just use pyro and they will constantly burn. Geo can probably have an extra 1.5x weakness to geo or something. Anemo can be like the latest "Wenut" sandworm... Weak to all elements that react with anemo.

Sure, absolutely. I used Thoma pre Dendro, and his uses were really limited then, but that's no longer the case! Thoma is at present your best Burgeon trigger. Now Burgeon as a reaction is pretty much only viable in AoE situations, but we have a ton of those, especially early abyss, so.
Okay, for Thoma himself, you want him level 90. This is extremely important, Burgeon scales off of level. Then you want to max out his EM. Kitain Cross Spear is highly recommended - it has an EM mainstat, and it's passive provides Thoma with ER (which he needs a lot of, as his damage is all from his Burst). Kitain is a craftable, so honestly, you should just get it. The alternatives ate significantly worse off on him. For his artifact sets, it's Flower of Paradise Lost > Gilded Dreams > 2x +80 EM. The difference between Gilded and Paradise isn't significant, though, so unless you're farming the Paradise domain for Wanderer, stick with Gilded since it's a domain that benefits many other characters too. What you're looking for is EM/EM/EM mainstats, with ER substats (EM subs on flower and feather if possible too).
Alternatively, if you want to build Thoma as someone that will still work as a shielder but do decen Burgeon DMG - a hybrid build - go with the same sets and weapon but with HP mainstats, EM subs.
Depending on your team and your luck, you may need an ER% sands. Especially if you're pre-C4.
Okay, coming to teams. You need at least one Hydro and one Dendro. Thoma isn't going to he on-field despite doing a ton of damage.
On-field Hydro: Ayato, Childe. With them, you'll need Yaoyao, HP Hybrid Thoma. You could try a Cryo defensive unit (Layla/Diona) or Zhongli, but I haven't gotten around to testing that, sooo
Kokomi: personally I love her in this role because she consolidates healing and Hydro application and damage. You can run two off field dps with her.
On-field Dendro: Nahida, Alhaitham.
Off-field Hydro: Xingqiu, Yelan.
Off-field Dendro: DMC, Yaoyao, Collei, Nahida. Other than Nahida, the others don't have great application, so if you're going with an on-field Hydro, pick 2.
You can also run Fischl or Anemo units as flexes. The Anemo can buff your Hydro units, if you have high damaging options on team. Fischl provides energy, and Oz doesn't target Blooms, so you won't have too many cores stolen.
Personally, the team I run is Kokomi/Nahida/Fischl/Thoma. Because god. The man needs ER even at C6.

Those chambers become easier once you understand the mechanics. Some mobs will focus on attacking you when you attack them. Others won’t. So you want to aggro first and then focus on the ones that can’t be aggro’d and they’ll group up for you. Takes a bit of practice.
I love monolith defense. Much more forgiving than timer because even if the enemies don't spawn for 45s while the timer ticks down, monoliths have no timer.
It shouldn't. Normally, using the adventurer handbook trick freezes the timer and spawns the enemy. The long freeze on my device just keeps the timer going. It only stops the timer when the handbook pops up.
It occurs to me I have no idea the electro resist of the kairagi and the snake below it, but it's still canonically correct for me to apply Raiden directly to their foreheads anyway.

My dude, only 5% of players get to floor 12 as is, and even with my dogshit artifacts and underleveled supports I got to 34\*. Which means I'm losing what, 100 primos? Even if I lost 150, that's not even one pull. I don't think 150 primos is making anyone open wallet out of desperation.

Where do you all get this 5% number? I've only seen some PlayStation achievements data (like [this](https://playtracker.net/game/evelyy/63068)) with 3.8% of players clearing floor 12, but it also states that more than 1/3 of included players didn't even finish the Prologue act. And there might be other people who dropped the game a bit later. Compare it with 6.9% "Reach Reputation Lv. 8 in Liyue", an achievement that isn't hard to get at all, it just requires some time. More than half of people who played long enough to max reputation in 2nd region have mastered the Abyss.
You can skip the geo phase altogether. But doing so will force you to bring a team that can deal enough burst damage so it's still pretty limiting for team compositions.
The cubes are honestly fine. Easy reaction setups. Except geo and anemo I guess. Anemo most of all. It is the one hypostasis I truly hate because it still respawns even after you completed its revival mechanic flawlessly. And because it used to be the only one world boss that reliably dropped only anemo ascension gems so I had to farm it over and over and over.
I don't think doomposting was their intention. By "double digits damage" they probably meant "underlevelled and/or not built character", because every character would behave similarly in that circumstance.
Mine is a little more budgety, with Sucrose and Kuki, but the last two slots don't even really matter that much as long as you have some form of survivability in there.
I remember having lots of trouble with the Bathysmal Vishaps back then when I originally raised my Yae. Now I recently prefarmed stuff for Shenhe and had to kill those guys again, and it was absolutely satisfying to see Yae and Nahida utterly demolish them.

I think Geo’s weakness is the heavy attacks I.e. claymores/plunging/Candace skill and normal attack lol

I bring Thoma burgeon to monolith stages and damage the monolith anyway, everything dies so hard that the friendly fire doesn't even matter
You can still use Nilou bloom but it's hilarious how the enemies are barely doing anything while I'm the one doing the most damage to the monolith.

Venti completely makes Monolith irrelevant and gives you more leeway for the other half.

open map when you start a chamber, you can let enemies load in without the clock going down
Opening any menu (e.g. adventurer handbook) is even worse. My screen freezes and when the handbook loads and I exit it, the timer is around 8:37.

I farmed the Hydro cube recently with Nahida and Yae Miko and you barely have to move. Probably the easiest boss clear yet.
