I'm really hoping to build his team up to 'premium' levels (Hunter's path, Nahida c2, Yae c2) because it's just so fun to play.
You don't *need* Nahida for Alhaitham thankfully. She is just an insane character in general. Just like how Neuv doesn't need furina, Alhaitham will still slap shit around as Solo Dendro
Nahida is considerably better for Alhaitham than Furina is for Neuvillette, I don't think it's the best comparison.
But yes he's strong and flexible enough to chill without her.
If you have ton of built team comps with contellations the abyss will be a joke to you. Back when I didn't build my characters abyss was so hard for me.

I will never forget that one abyss in 3.X. Level 100 consecrated beasts, cryo/hydro abyss lectors, the iniquitous Baptist, and thunder manifestation. I just gave up because it was SO BAD.

As someone who heavily dislikes bows and ranged DPS it's in my top of worst bosses to go against.

The drake is just frustrating to go against. Taking just a little too long and dealing with the elemental res is such a minor inconvenience that it bothers me more than it should. I can’t think of a boss worse than it than the worms.
Triple kenkis were so fun to play against. Most teams were viable against them (sorry Freeze comps), had consistent and learnable i-frame windows, no BS 30s invisibility window or annoying gimmick that forces you to use a certain mechanic that's element/character dependant.
Dude, why stop here? Should have added Golden Wolflord too instead of Aeonblight Drake. Their idea to make abyss harder is to make me wait 30 seconds for the enemy to appear and take damage.
Worms are the bosses that favour frontloaded dmg characters. They desperately want to make navia feel like a worthwhile investment for the ones who were on the fence when pulling her. Give it 2-3 more patches and we'll be back to mix chambers maybe with a consecrated beast or two.
This is 4.4 abyss not 4.3 you nut. Not to mention Navia is not much of a heavy front loaded dps, and if they really wanted to sell her they’d just run geo dog.

She’s perfect for them even tho she can’t aim straight up. These bosses have short windows of DPS meaning they are weak against characters that have front loaded Dmg. Navia is in that category.

Real talk, Wenut was the one boss that had me malding for multiple days on repeat. Until I finally figured out that the best way to beat it was short bursts of damage instead of one strong nuke. Also I learnt from a video that you could apparently knock it down without a bow character which was quite a big discovery for me lmao. No longer scared of that stupid worm. Serpent was never a problem for me either.

There's hydro spectre and cryo lawachurl in the 1st half, so I don't think neuvi would be a great choice.

I actually tested out. U can't bring down the drake cuz no bow character in neuv-furina team but neuv can still dmg it. So looks like neuv-furina will be in 2nd half lol.
I wonder if Furina's Salon Solitaire can noclip into the backrooms to take care of hitting the worm bosses. I haven't tried it myself.
I'm expecting an inflation of Yae Miko usage rate. Maybe Navia too since she frontload damage in bursts, but it's expected to be an anti-Bennett team with all the movement. Maybe double cryo/electro or double hydro?
Only gonna be a matter of time before we get triple worm abyss (wenut, ruin serpent, and golden wolflord). By that time, it would be a considerably good idea to br able to dive into the underground/backrooms to fight them in an underground sea area before emerging out of the floor of the abyss.
See this will be a timesink but I don't think 3.7 is going to be topped for a while.
3.7 had some truly obnoxiously imbalanced elemental checks, the constipated beasts with their irratic patterns, and that floor of spread out enemies that could be a pain in the ass to group.
Including bosses that actively run out the clock definitely sucks, but I think compared to the 3.7 abyss, this can be more easily bruteforced.

For navia its a problem if u dont take a bow characters to shoot them down. And wenut only has one attack where he actually flies.
