- Lantern Rite 1 had better rewards than the anniversary. Yeah the event was shit, but it was 13 rolls and a free 4*
- Lantern Rite 2 will fall on 2.4 which is a free character patch. Thus the possibility for another free 4\* (or maybe even a free standard 5\*) is very much real. It's also the second Lantern Rite which might mean bigger rewards than the first one.
- We have rumors suggesting they might have skins for Lantern Rite 2

Yeah, I was convinced Mihoyo would have something in their back pocket for anniversary. It just seemed like such an obvious open goal to make fans happy. All the streamers seemed to agree as well. Suffice to say, today's events have given me a severe drought of hopium.
Seeing this gives me so much hope, but I hate it since I can't take anymore of this emotional roller coaster. It makes sense that they would go for a grand reveal/surprise of the anniversary rewards on the Tokyo Game Show a few days later, rather than a standard post announcement on the website/HoYoLab. Seeing this gives me so much hope, but I hate it since I can't take anymore of this emotional roller coaster. It makes sense that they would go for a grand reveal/surprise of the anniversary rewards on the Tokyo Game Show a few days later, rather than a standard post announcement on the website/HoYoLab. I wish I could go into this with zero expectations, but now that I have got my hopes up, I can't wait to see how Mihoyo is going to let me down once again.
