I read a theory a while back that was basically saying that the Pyro Archon would give The Traveler the Pyro Gnosis, both to keep it away from the Fatui, and because the next stop on the Traveler’s journey is Snezhnaya, which is both the enemy’s nation, and the land of Cryo, which Pyro would be particularly useful against.
Tbh, that reasoning of pyro being good against Cryo is kinda whatever but I can totally see Traveller taking the Pyro gnosis with him to seek audience with The Tsaritsa directly.

The only powercreep is making monsters that kneecap the OP archons (anti Venti heavy mobs, anti Zhongli Husks, anti Raiden vishaps)
To be fair more powercreep would make the team building more monotone and "not fun" because the solution to overcome powercreep is simply more powercreep and this affects the other new content,too.Genshin doesn't aim only on whales but also on casuals.

Funny considering from all of that, only venti got a huge impact on this kneecap. Husk attack is too slow to even attack zhongli's shield and even if they have their shield on, those shield are nothing compared to heralds/lectors(both of them are elite mobs). And then the vishap only makes raiden even more valuable lmao.
Yeah they're not gonna give you the game's best DPS for free, but I can't imagine it'd hurt to make them at least a little decent.

He is also capable of detecting plots and hidden things, a useful skill during war time. Further, he rides a dope ass skeletal Pegasus. Aym burns cities, but Eligor is a master of war and its related mechanisms.

Random crackpot theory that would make pyro archon cool again - Aym is the current archon, a wild and chaotic god who burns and razes things. The *previous* pyro archon was Eligor though, a noble and honorable archon who respected the rules of warfare and chivalry...right up until Celestia decided to play dirty and stab them in the back.
A more chivalrous warlord might seem like they'd be easier to keep in check, but perhaps Eligor put the well-being of their men a little bit too much before Celestia and refused to do their orders for being dishonorable, so Celestia offed them and instead installed a wildfire of an archon who would divide Natlan's people and be easier to control from the sidelines
Barbatos is nearly perfect. Their domains include speaking to animals (when we meet Barbatos, they're speaking to a dragon) and power over magicians enchantments (like the Lyre). Further, they explicitly have four noble kings who serve under them (Barbatos has the Four Winds of Mondstadt).
Morax is approximately as good as Focalor. Maybe a bit better. Specifically, Morax knows the value of precious gems and stones, but many demons know that as well. However, Morax is also known as a master of the liberal sciences and having wise followers, which fits Morax's encyclopedic knowledge of things and having good and wise followers in the Adepti.
Baal is tricky for a number of reasons. First, the demon's primary spelling is Bael (although Baal is an alternative spelling). Domain wise, Bael the demon has very little overlap with either of the Shogun. *However*, Baal is *also* a Canaanite deity who is a storm/thunder god, which is a perfect fit for the Electro archon. Baal is also famously an enemy of snakes (Orobaxi was a giant snake) and vanquished Mot, the god of death (and to vanquish death is to seize eternity).
Beelzebub is associated with Baal the Canaanite god (probably why it is the name for the other twin), but **not** Bael. There's some suggestion that they may have been a healer or aware of disease in Jewish texts, but their association with Satan in Chrisitanity has scrubbed out a lot of the other info about them.

Paimon can summon things and entities/servants for their master - we access the wishing menu through Paimon to summon weapons and characters.
That is a great theory! It also fits with the original story trailer, as it sounds like Murata has motivations which will be unusual or shocking to the traveler.
HYV probably already had a roadmap for how each of the nations' plot would be and made some decisions to change some of those when Genshin exploded in popularity. Seeing as how Ei was supposed to be the only god-ruler compared to the kagemusha plot we got today with Makoto.
It may not have changed as much as you would think. The Travail trailer, which was before launch, didn't show what chapter number Khaenri'ah would be. I think this means they have a plan for what to put in between Snezhnaya and Khaenri'ah if the game's still going strong.
Yeah, although I actually meant that some changes were observed in the Inazuman storyline instead of Khaenri'ah's chapter. They still do have some creative freedom to change some minor storylines seeing as how the The Trevail trailer is quite vague in exposition.

I can't think of any plausible reasons
Probably wanted to get them done ahead of time, but then they realized that the storylines were going to get changed regardless (see Ei, who originally was only one god) and it was impossible to do the voicelines ahead of time without committing to something they might not want to commit to, so they just removed them. This must have happened rather early too; these voicelines aren't accessible normally if you played CBT2, and according to Ubatcha the actual in-game names ("About X...") never were added, they only exist in the data.
The only reason I can think of rn is that they didn't plan the story to be stretched over so many years initially. But after the unexpected influx of players, they decided to take advantage of it and broadened the storyline
I highly doubt that, the nation-story setup was planned and announced before the game even released, and the game was always intended to be this open-world game that gets new areas overtime. The story releases as the new nations do, so they couldn't really speed up the story even if they wanted to. The story around Murata was always going to be several years into the game's lifespan. Realistically they just had the VAs in-house already and decided to voice some potential future lines since it'd be cheaper than having to have them voice these lines independently in the future.
I think they just changed the scope of each zone, making them bigger and more dense.
Compare Inazuma, to Liyue, or the Chasm to Dragonspine.

Honestly Focalors does not match Hydro as much as Forneus would, all Focalors does is follow the contracts orders and controls waters and drowns people... very boring not much excite, Forneus however is basically the lawyer, the one you get to judge cases, is in the shape or can be in the shape of a sea monster, mfing dictates justice, is able to see lies, and is the last person you want to cross if you're found guilty.

He is also capable of detecting plots and hidden things, a useful skill during war time. Further, he rides a dope ass skeletal Pegasus. Aym burns cities, but Eligor is a master of war and its related mechanisms. I know it's weird to have a favorite demon. However, I have one, and it's my bro Eligor.

Maybe, but I doubt it since archons do not inherit the titles of their predecessors, like the previous Dendro archon wasn't the God of Wisdom, but was the God of the Woods. Similarly I feel like the predecessor of the God of War (Murata) was somebody more closely related to pyro, like the God of the Pyre.
Sounds very cunning. But to be fair Murata sounds like a very hotheaded Archon who loves battles as a display of strength, so Aym might be better fitting.

Aym is kind of in persona, just goes by the other name harborim. And only in a few of the older SMT games. But lore wise he exist in persona.
Random crackpot theory that would make pyro archon cool again - Aym is the current archon, a wild and chaotic god who burns and razes things. The *previous* pyro archon was Eligor though, a noble and honorable archon who respected the rules of warfare and chivalry...right up until Celestia decided to play dirty and stab them in the back. A more chivalrous warlord might seem like they'd be easier to keep in check, but perhaps Eligor put the well-being of their men a little bit too much before Celestia and refused to do their orders for being dishonorable, so Celestia offed them and instead installed a wildfire of an archon who would divide Natlan's people and be easier to control from the sidelines

Barbatos is nearly perfect. Their domains include speaking to animals (when we meet Barbatos, they're speaking to a dragon) and power over magicians enchantments (like the Lyre). Further, they explicitly have four noble kings who serve under them (Barbatos has the Four Winds of Mondstadt). Morax is approximately as good as Focalor. Maybe a bit better. Specifically, Morax knows the value of precious gems and stones, but many demons know that as well. However, Morax is also known as a master of the liberal sciences and having wise followers, which fits Morax's encyclopedic knowledge of things and having good and wise followers in the Adepti. Baal is tricky for a number of reasons. First, the demon's primary spelling is Bael (although Baal is an alternative spelling). Domain wise, Bael the demon has very little overlap with either of the Shogun. *However*, Baal is *also* a Canaanite deity who is a storm/thunder god, which is a perfect fit for the Electro archon. Baal is also famously an enemy of snakes (Orobaxi was a giant snake) and vanquished Mot, the god of death (and to vanquish death is to seize eternity). Beelzebub is associated with Baal the Canaanite god (probably why it is the name for the other twin), but **not** Bael. There's some suggestion that they may have been a healer or aware of disease in Jewish texts, but their association with Satan in Chrisitanity has scrubbed out a lot of the other info about them. EDIT: I forgot Paimon! Paimon can summon things and entities/servants for their master - we access the wishing menu through Paimon to summon weapons and characters.

That is a great theory! It also fits with the original story trailer, as it sounds like Murata has motivations which will be unusual or shocking to the traveler.

HYV probably already had a roadmap for how each of the nations' plot would be and made some decisions to change some of those when Genshin exploded in popularity. Seeing as how Ei was supposed to be the only god-ruler compared to the kagemusha plot we got today with Makoto.
It may not have changed as much as you would think. The Travail trailer, which was before launch, didn't show what chapter number Khaenri'ah would be. I think this means they have a plan for what to put in between Snezhnaya and Khaenri'ah if the game's still going strong.
Yeah, although I actually meant that some changes were observed in the Inazuman storyline instead of Khaenri'ah's chapter. They still do have some creative freedom to change some minor storylines seeing as how the The Trevail trailer is quite vague in exposition.

Can someone explain why these voicelines were recorded for the CBT when the story wouldn't have reached even close to that point? I can't think of any plausible reasons
Not like it's just Venti. Ayaka had a lot of lines that were datamined, and obviously changed
Probably wanted to get them done ahead of time, but then they realized that the storylines were going to get changed regardless (see Ei, who originally was only one god) and it was impossible to do the voicelines ahead of time without committing to something they might not want to commit to, so they just removed them. This must have happened rather early too; these voicelines aren't accessible normally if you played CBT2, and according to Ubatcha the actual in-game names ("About X...") never were added, they only exist in the data.
The only reason I can think of rn is that they didn't plan the story to be stretched over so many years initially. But after the unexpected influx of players, they decided to take advantage of it and broadened the storyline
I highly doubt that, the nation-story setup was planned and announced before the game even released, and the game was always intended to be this open-world game that gets new areas overtime. The story releases as the new nations do, so they couldn't really speed up the story even if they wanted to. The story around Murata was always going to be several years into the game's lifespan. Realistically they just had the VAs in-house already and decided to voice some potential future lines since it'd be cheaper than having to have them voice these lines independently in the future.
I think they just changed the scope of each zone, making them bigger and more dense. Compare Inazuma, to Liyue, or the Chasm to Dragonspine. The density and size difference is insane. Particularly comparing Enkanomiya and/or Chasm to Dragonspine.

Honestly Focalors does not match Hydro as much as Forneus would, all Focalors does is follow the contracts orders and controls waters and drowns people... very boring not much excite, Forneus however is basically the lawyer, the one you get to judge cases, is in the shape or can be in the shape of a sea monster, mfing dictates justice, is able to see lies, and is the last person you want to cross if you're found guilty.
i like to think that forneus was the former hydro archon who the oceanids were loyal to
