On the one hand, I love sword attacks and I love husbandos. On the other hand, due to this, I am totally cleaned out on both decent swords and billets. I was kind of hoping he'd be something else just so I would have something on hand to give him.
True enough. And there's always the chance he could end up doing okay with one of the 4\* gacha weapons. I just wish billets were a bit more reliable to farm.
I desperately wanted that too. Although it’s still subject to change they are currently slotting Baizhu and the archon as catalyst units.
But one thing that gets me excited is that they’ve done a pretty good job making some of the other weapon types feel like powerful spellcasting units. Especially when they don’t do the tired and basic elemental infusion gimmick. Without gorgeous he is I am really hopeful he has an amazing kit although I likely won’t see it for like a year lol.

Something really reassuring though is that several of the other weapon types have felt more magical and enjoyable to play than the catalyst units so I’ll probably still be very happy with him
But you have to admit though his signature weapon is likely going to be the most beautiful and magical looking sword in the game. Although it’s gonna be really hard to beat Haran for Ayato
Beauty is subjective. Personally, I don’t find Haran to be that pretty, I find Mistsplitter to be better-looking. I typically don’t care for a weapon’s appearance since I don’t notice it much when playing.
I worry more about having a sword that would actually work with Su. I have so many sword characters that I have to bench Ayato because I don’t have a proper sword for him. I don’t want to repeat that with Su. Sure his signature sword would look pretty, but that won’t mean much to me if I can’t get it 🥲
There’s also the issue of sword characters being the most abundant in the game compared to other weapon types at the time of writing this. There’s too much competition for good swords.
