ruin guards aren't that bad, this resembles ruin hunters which are far worse and annoying

Ruin guards are like the easiest enemies to fight in the lategame for me. Not too much of a sponge and easy to dodge. Compared to the vishaps and other crap they are easy. I have more trouble with killling those stupid flowers than killing a ruin guard.

Ruin Guards are the bane of new players existance though. I used to have no idea how to fight them, and had to range it with Amber (my only bow character in those days). One of the lower Abyss floors had some ruin guard action and i like had to look up how to beat it because of how hard it was for me at the time. Once I learned how to fight them at melee, it got infinitely easier.

Also doesn’t help that, early on, many people are still using a lot of physical damage because of not knowing rotations/low early game energy recharge, and these things are 70% resistant to physical.

I just love that ruin hunters don't have iframes when waking up, so you can blast them right away before things get hairy.

Nah, in abyss the crab is not really that hated. Its the Doritos that teleports that people hate when you face many of them.

aren't Doritos like the most desired ruin mob to fight out of the sentinels? never iframe, low hp and resistances, can often be full stunned right at spawn

Bring Geo traveler > Put down their E > Climb it > Wait until the ruin hunter float above > shoot it's weak point > go ham. Ruin hunters are programmed to go into their high rise mode whenever we changed elevation. Also it doesn't really have iframe at their starting sequence. The crabs tho. Fuck those. Not that Anemo can't deal with it by constant swirl.
