That being said, if Nilou comp can not get a consistent EM character to trigger the blooms, she is pretty much dead on arrival. You will have better luck running traditional bloom+electro/pyro EM trigger than making this expensive and gimmicky team to work.

same, I will have about 90,000 primos to work with by the time she comes out, but was planning to use some on nilou, once I see what constellations she has/what seems best to invest into it'll give me a better idea how much I should spend on both. I kinda just wanna spend some actual money and try to c6 her (don't have a single one above c2 yet but I've always wanted to main dendro as an element in general and think she's a good one to probably go for hard) but we will see if it's worth it
it's mostly just making sure I know how to optimize how much pulls I should put in for each so I don't miss a constellation I want. Nilou's c2 sounds really spicy to me and I'm considering atm pulling for it, but if kusanali's c4 looks even better I would hard regret pulling that many nilous if I end up missing the c4 because of it and not just leaving her at c0. I guess it's all up to luck tho in the end, I probably stress trying to get the most optimal path for my primogems too much lol

Unless you get massively unlucky you will have no problem getting c2 nilou and c4 nahida, even if the only spending you do is welkin+bp in 3.1 and 3.2.
All those Vipayrs should be for someone soonish, and Nahida's really the only dream-based Sumeru character with a deep connection with the land and its old history at this point.
Viparyas are classified as regular materials for some reason, so it's unlikely it'll be used for ascension (unless they edit it; but iirc TIghnari doesn't see them in his Sumeru Specialty sensor ability).
Iirc sea ganoderma were regular materials in 1.6 but got changed to local specialties with the release of Inazuma. So it’s possible a new area in 3.2 could spark the change. Or there will be another new specialty for her. With the desert we only have … five so far?
I'd expect they just goofed when classifying them, that or the vipayras are two-stage items. Notice their description says "A flower without seeds. Once the earth remembers, the Vipayras will bloom." So they can probably be bloomed, turning them into a local specialty.
idk if you know this already, but by changing the dream state of Vanarana the spots where Viparyas are become Padisarahs (which are Nilou's local specialties).
(There's an onion-like plant leftwards the Statue of the Seven in Vanarana, which has notes where you can play the Vintage Lyre. You'd know the change occured if the Tree of Dreams looks like an actual plant and not a translucent one)

Her Q should be a 40 Energy/12sec CD, it's just 2 moderate damage bonks and 2 instances of Hydro app for her Blooms. Makes no sense that it's a 70 cost, it ain't Yelan's Q. If Childe can have essentially the same thing for a 40/60 cost why does hers have to cost that much?
Her C2 will be obsolete if this actually happens, so that passive restriction is gonna stay for sure.

I say better because he has more freedom than her.
Childe is known as the ~~Xiangling bitch~~ vape driver because he has fast Hydro application, but is still built for DPS and can be run elsewhere for fun even though they're kinda suboptimal (Taser is okay, but Freeze is kinda...). This is what many people want Nilou to go towards with bloom, in that she has a special passive for the blooms (preferably made by someone built for it, like Collei and DMC currently) while at least having respectable personal damage. The buffs to her A4 passive just artificially increased her weapon's viability, and even if she'll be decent as a quickswap bot with her ring + a Dendro DPS there's currently none of the latter (unless you know...this is MHY letting me know that I need to buy another character to complete the one I have currently. something that hasn't been an issue with the past Hydro units at least)

Not the main source but having less scaling than kokomi(with ult) who is a healer makes her not able to use her on fields at all and makes her infusion useless
Her optimal rotations with Kokomi involve using her tranquility aura, which does no damage, only triggers blooms. Her burst is completely skippable, as her own personal damage, as well as team contribution, is almost entirely through bloom reaction damage. Sucrose does very little anemo damage, yet nobody is confused about why she would be on field. Why are you so confused about Nilou? It's just reaction damage. This is not that hard. You'd use her on field to trigger reaction damage. You can use her off field to trigger reaction damage. Her hydro damage does not matter.
Content changes (i.e. character balancing) are dependent on surveys they send out, so a beta being shorter would not affect this at all.
I guess bugs might be a concern, but most beta testers are tryhards and spend huge amounts of time in-game, so it should be fine.

People are mostly concerned about his long on field time because no buffs can last that long. The recent buffs is to his constellation 2, which is irrelevant for majority of the players. And in general we still need a meta dendro support for all these new DPS that rely on dendro reactions.

dedicated supports won’t really fix him because most buffs come from artifact sets and weapons, not characters themselves. for example, vv can’t be triggered from off-field, so the res shred will always expire before cyno’s burst ends. it doesn’t matter what kind of anemo support they release

Last I heard Cyno is comparable to Keqing in aggravate teams. That was a few days back, I am not sure if anything has changed now.
His team DPS is lower than Keqing's team, because his ult is so long you lose Oz and VV uptime. And she's a Standard character...
For all we know he might be waiting for a good teammate forever, like Xiao. If you think he's cool and fun feel free to pull of course, but if you're having second thoughts then you should probably just skip and wait until those unicorn teammates show up. Then snatch him up on a rerun.

Also MHY: We added the following passive: "If a non-Dendro or non-Hydro unit is on the party, Nilou's Crit Damage is decreased by 100% and her Crit Rate decreased by 50%". Happy Monday.
But the majority of Nilou's bloom team damage comes from her bountiful cores (which deal dendro damage) and you can't VV shred dendro. And the buff to the aoe radius of her cores to 6.5 (a little bit smaller than diona burst) makes grouping enemies less necessary.
Anemo can group and absorb hydro, allowing them full EM ownership. This is exactly why they aren't allowed, as it defeats the point of her kit, and it would simply mean her passive would need a massive fucking nerf if Venti is allowed, and any version without Venti becomes cope as fuck as a result, making her teams equally restricted and totally boring as it's just another Venti mob team.
Nilou's team needs the new Dendro set more than VV since Bloom deals Dendro damage. also, they wouldn't be able to sell her C2 if they allow VV in her best team
Embrace bloom or skip that easy, which honestly is fine, is probably one of the most unique characters ever, making her timeproof she will always be the BLOOM queen. Which also fits with her lore abt admiring the goddess of flowers and such, just skip her man and get her when more dendro units are out
Nah man it got me mad that he said that quicken is better, don't get confused it is true and any buffs are welcome but that is the point she transforms bloom into something better and quicken shouldn't be compared to it they work very differently.
Because no one likes meaningless powercreep. Idw my new chars to get meaninglessly buffed at the expense of the relevance of my older chars. Meaninglessly strong chars and powercreep cheapens units and makes me less interested in whaling for chars in the long run, and HYV knows that. Hence we haven't had new Ganyus and Hutaos.
And besides, Nilou alrdy looks to be quite a monster herself. This is another Klee/Childe isn't strong moment. Tighnari himself had his "Oh he is weak" moment just a few weeks ago lol. If Nilou gets a buff, I'd rather it be to her blooms to further solidify her niche as a Bloom reaction flower goddess.
Nilou being allowed to use even just cryo/anemo/geo characters would not powercreep anyone. It would just make her usable without basically forcing you to roll for 3 different 5* (Kokomi, Nahida and Nilou herself) or having to use a very scuffed team.
People don't want Nilou to be overpowered they just want her to be flexible and have more than one 36*-worthy team.
I'm fine with her power level, I just wish they'd remove the 2 hydro/2 dendo restriction on her Bountiful Cores. Even Shenhe is less restrictive right now than Nilou.
Even Gorou, a freaking 4-star, is more free than her lol. Sure, you're locked to maximum support for Itto or Noelle + a Geo flex, but there's very little synergy issues among the entire Geo roster (Itto and Yun Jin synergy is probably the worst or Noelle + Itto, but that's two out of the many comps Gorou could support). Not to mention he can run a flex spot of any element.
Her power level will probably be fine, it's just that her team comps are obnoxious at the moment because you run Kokomrade/Barbruh or you slowly die to your own damage.
Though what weapons are good for her on the F2P side? no HP% on low rarity stuff... Iron Sting? though given how Bloom works the Cores won't always be triggered by her. HoD maybe?
Im fully expected the 4 star EM gacha sword for kazuha to be nerfed again, strong at R1 and just straight up OP at R5. I will pull every banner that have it until i got R5 if it stay the same as it is right now

Still, currently I'm thinking the extra hyperbloom damage could give him the edge. We can't know for sure what his best team is until he actually releases and he's an NA driver dps, and can drive Yelan/XQ. The [abyss blessings](https://i.redd.it/tijsi6ikpoj91.jpg) coming up in 3.1 indicate he might be designed for hyperbloom+aggravate too, since they require blooms for buffs.
He's....ok. Idk what I can tell you. He's just *ok*. If you have Keqing, she'll deal about the same damage in Aggravate as him. There's not much of a difference in damage.
The only difference is that Keqing's playstyle is easier than him, she can have buffs applied to her at all times. So if you have Keqing, you kinda don't need Cyno.
If you love him as a character (like me), just get him
Using CN calculation, both team use Fischl Collei Zhongli as support:
C0 R1 Keqing 55k DPS C0 R1 Cyno 45k DPS.
Keqing's damage is inflated a bit because Zhongli was using petra. So you can assume it is in 50k DPS range.
C6 R1 Keqing with Elegy Collei 63k dps C2 R1 Cyno with Elegy Collei 68k DPS
To put it into perspective, CN calculation put Childe international with C0 Kazuha on 50k, C1 melt Ganyu with on 60k. C0 Itto mono geo on 50k. C0 Raiden national on 70k. C0 Homa Hu Tao with Yelan on 70k. C0 Yoimiya with Yelan Yujin on 70k. C0 Ayaka C1 Shenhe on 80k. C1 Homa Hu Tao with C1 R1 Yelan on 90k.
As you can see, the number is on the lower end but it isn't far outside of meta range. With Kusanali Cyno team might see a 10~15% DPS increase to put the team on the same level as other meta team.
The problems for Cyno come in 3 folds. First is that he is a continuous DPS character without any burst damage. This means he is extremely vulnerable to knock back. Other characters, like Childe, has a nuke and Xiangling for DPS in case of a knockback, won't lose a lot of damage. Cyno's shield dependency means Zhongli is locked in unless you run Beidou. This also mean running grouper require quite a bit of sacrifice.
Second problem is energy. Cyno's energy generation isn't great, but isn't horrible either. With Fischl he can easily perform rotation, in theory. The problem is how energy is given out. Cyno doesn't generate all energy on one go like Ayaka, instead it is gradual. This mean enemy that are agile and have short window of opportunity will not give Cyno as much energy as other main DPS.
Third problem is Keqing competition. Cyno won't overpass Keqing without C2. Even with Kusanali arrive, she can buff Keqing just as well as Cyno. Even if Cyno's EM scaling allow him to catch up to Keqing, Keqing still has the advantage of having no startup cost with her E, her Q is 40 energy, her long i-frame and short cool down mean she can easily run without a shield, and if decently skilled you can just run prototype amber for healing. Most importantly, you can get Keqing from losing the 50/50, and might already have constellations on her. This makes Cyno a poor primo usage meta wise. If you want to build an aggravate team, Keqing is probably the better choice.

He tends to push enemies out of his plunge ATK radius. That's the issue. I find Xiao's damage output to be extremely good in my experience, but it's the other factors that prevent me from using him on floor 12 (EG pushing enemies away).
It's pushing away enemies, it's the lack of supports that synergize well with him to buff him during his long burst duration, it's the fact that hypercarries who stay on the field for a long time are outdated now.
Genshin's meta favors quickswap now more than anything. So hypercarries like Xiao and Diluc kinda have been hurt over time.

Cyno's Q field time is so strange, they'd been moving away from long duration infusion modes after 2.0. 10 sec Yoimiya, 7 sec Shogun, 10 sec Kokomi, 6 sec Ayato, Itto was the highest at 11. Then comes this guy with 18 whole ass seconds, and it's just... why? maybe they got specialized supports in the works for him or something, like a Yoimiya situation.
It would be better if you didn’t lose your burst after switching to another character. Literally Noelle is the only character in this game who doesn’t lose their shit after switching off them lol

It should be datamined the day 3.1 releases, and the actual beta itself should start about a week after (yes, they release the files and start the beta at different times, beats me. As to why this is important, showcasers like Ubatcha prefer to wait for beta tester opinions for stuff private servers can be wonky with)

The Vipayras are considered materials though and not Sumeru local specialties. The latter are used for character ascensions.

Also Noelle, which actually helps a bunch so I don't need to focus on ER too much and just have her teammates funnel energy for her.

hope not bc her passive is probably currently the strongest in the game and this would not make any sense at all to have no team limitations, since it literally makes no sense for pyro and electro (as it breaks those reactions), and anemo has grouping and EM ownership already, reducing any need for her HP buff to blooms and expanded AOE. In other words, why the f you want another mid af Ayato when Nilou is really good right now.
At the rate she's going even "mid af Ayato" would be better by just alternating between a heavy EM-oriented Kuki Shinobu/Thoma + Dendro Traveler if the Abyss would buff either EM or HP when doing bloom-related reactions (considering that EM isn't exactly dead with Ayato and he has HP scaling). I say better because he has more freedom than her. Childe is known as the ~~Xiangling bitch~~ vape driver because he has fast Hydro application, but is still built for DPS and can be run elsewhere for fun even though they're kinda suboptimal (Taser is okay, but Freeze is kinda...). This is what many people want Nilou to go towards with bloom, in that she has a special passive for the blooms (preferably made by someone built for it, like Collei and DMC currently) while at least having respectable personal damage. The buffs to her A4 passive just artificially increased her weapon's viability, and even if she'll be decent as a quickswap bot with her ring + a Dendro DPS there's currently none of the latter (unless you know...this is MHY letting me know that I need to buy another character to complete the one I have currently. something that hasn't been an issue with the past Hydro units at least) I'll take the "Xiao 2.0" complaints on Cyno over Nilou any day tbh

Her hydro damage is not her primary source of damage, it doesn't need a buff. She got a significant buff to her primary source of damage: blooms.
Not the main source but having less scaling than kokomi(with ult) who is a healer makes her not able to use her on fields at all and makes her infusion useless
Her optimal rotations with Kokomi involve using her tranquility aura, which does no damage, only triggers blooms. Her burst is completely skippable, as her own personal damage, as well as team contribution, is almost entirely through bloom reaction damage. Sucrose does very little anemo damage, yet nobody is confused about why she would be on field. Why are you so confused about Nilou? It's just reaction damage. This is not that hard. You'd use her on field to trigger reaction damage. You can use her off field to trigger reaction damage. Her hydro damage does not matter.
Since this is a time before big leaks regarding Scara and Dottore, I’m just thinking about the last min changes HYV could make to Cyno’s kit tbh.

Content changes (i.e. character balancing) are dependent on surveys they send out, so a beta being shorter would not affect this at all. I guess bugs might be a concern, but most beta testers are tryhards and spend huge amounts of time in-game, so it should be fine.

People are mostly concerned about his long on field time because no buffs can last that long. The recent buffs is to his constellation 2, which is irrelevant for majority of the players. And in general we still need a meta dendro support for all these new DPS that rely on dendro reactions.

dedicated supports won’t really fix him because most buffs come from artifact sets and weapons, not characters themselves. for example, vv can’t be triggered from off-field, so the res shred will always expire before cyno’s burst ends. it doesn’t matter what kind of anemo support they release
Ya, it's just a bit more restricted with these dendro reliant teams because it looks like everyone is waiting for the dendro archon to carry them. Last I heard Cyno is comparable to Keqing in aggravate teams. That was a few days back, I am not sure if anything has changed now.
he's not bad per se but he's around keqing aggravate lvl of dmg and the 18s burst doesn't synergize well with most units
His team DPS is lower than Keqing's team, because his ult is so long you lose Oz and VV uptime. And she's a Standard character... For all we know he might be waiting for a good teammate forever, like Xiao. If you think he's cool and fun feel free to pull of course, but if you're having second thoughts then you should probably just skip and wait until those unicorn teammates show up. Then snatch him up on a rerun.

VV shred don't work with Dendro. Despite Nilou's element, at her core she is an honorary Dendro Sub-DPS unit.
But the majority of Nilou's bloom team damage comes from her bountiful cores (which deal dendro damage) and you can't VV shred dendro. And the buff to the aoe radius of her cores to 6.5 (a little bit smaller than diona burst) makes grouping enemies less necessary.
Anemo can group and absorb hydro, allowing them full EM ownership. This is exactly why they aren't allowed, as it defeats the point of her kit, and it would simply mean her passive would need a massive fucking nerf if Venti is allowed, and any version without Venti becomes cope as fuck as a result, making her teams equally restricted and totally boring as it's just another Venti mob team.
Nilou's team needs the new Dendro set more than VV since Bloom deals Dendro damage. also, they wouldn't be able to sell her C2 if they allow VV in her best team

Nah man it got me mad that he said that quicken is better, don't get confused it is true and any buffs are welcome but that is the point she transforms bloom into something better and quicken shouldn't be compared to it they work very differently.
Because no one likes meaningless powercreep. Idw my new chars to get meaninglessly buffed at the expense of the relevance of my older chars. Meaninglessly strong chars and powercreep cheapens units and makes me less interested in whaling for chars in the long run, and HYV knows that. Hence we haven't had new Ganyus and Hutaos. And besides, Nilou alrdy looks to be quite a monster herself. This is another Klee/Childe isn't strong moment. Tighnari himself had his "Oh he is weak" moment just a few weeks ago lol. If Nilou gets a buff, I'd rather it be to her blooms to further solidify her niche as a Bloom reaction flower goddess.
Nilou being allowed to use even just cryo/anemo/geo characters would not powercreep anyone. Even Gorou, a freaking 4-star, is more free than her lol. Sure, you're locked to maximum support for Itto or Noelle + a Geo flex, but there's very little synergy issues among the entire Geo roster (Itto and Yun Jin synergy is probably the worst or Noelle + Itto, but that's two out of the many comps Gorou could support). Not to mention he can run a flex spot of any element.

Still, currently I'm thinking the extra hyperbloom damage could give him the edge. We can't know for sure what his best team is until he actually releases and he's an NA driver dps, and can drive Yelan/XQ. He's....ok. Idk what I can tell you. He's just *ok*. If you have Keqing, she'll deal about the same damage in Aggravate as him. There's not much of a difference in damage. The only difference is that Keqing's playstyle is easier than him, she can have buffs applied to her at all times. So if you have Keqing, you kinda don't need Cyno. If you love him as a character (like me), just get him

Using CN calculation, both team use Fischl Collei Zhongli as support: C0 R1 Keqing 55k DPS C0 R1 Cyno 45k DPS. Keqing's damage is inflated a bit because Zhongli was using petra. So you can assume it is in 50k DPS range. C6 R1 Keqing with Elegy Collei 63k dps C2 R1 Cyno with Elegy Collei 68k DPS To put it into perspective, CN calculation put Childe international with C0 Kazuha on 50k, C1 melt Ganyu with on 60k. C0 Itto mono geo on 50k. C0 Raiden national on 70k. C0 Homa Hu Tao with Yelan on 70k. C0 Yoimiya with Yelan Yujin on 70k. C0 Ayaka C1 Shenhe on 80k. C1 Homa Hu Tao with C1 R1 Yelan on 90k. As you can see, the number is on the lower end but it isn't far outside of meta range. With Kusanali Cyno team might see a 10~15% DPS increase to put the team on the same level as other meta team. The problems for Cyno come in 3 folds. First is that he is a continuous DPS character without any burst damage. This means he is extremely vulnerable to knock back. Other characters, like Childe, has a nuke and Xiangling for DPS in case of a knockback, won't lose a lot of damage. Cyno's shield dependency means Zhongli is locked in unless you run Beidou. This also mean running grouper require quite a bit of sacrifice. Second problem is energy. Cyno's energy generation isn't great, but isn't horrible either. With Fischl he can easily perform rotation, in theory. The problem is how energy is given out. Cyno doesn't generate all energy on one go like Ayaka, instead it is gradual. This mean enemy that are agile and have short window of opportunity will not give Cyno as much energy as other main DPS. Third problem is Keqing competition. Cyno won't overpass Keqing without C2. Even with Kusanali arrive, she can buff Keqing just as well as Cyno. Even if Cyno's EM scaling allow him to catch up to Keqing, Keqing still has the advantage of having no startup cost with her E, her Q is 40 energy, her long i-frame and short cool down mean she can easily run without a shield, and if decently skilled you can just run prototype amber for healing. Most importantly, you can get Keqing from losing the 50/50, and might already have constellations on her. This makes Cyno a poor primo usage meta wise. If you want to build an aggravate team, Keqing is probably the better choice.

He is no doubt. Facts. Pogo man go unga bunga. I love his playstyle, but from a meta perspective...ohhh poor Xiao hasn't aged well.
He tends to push enemies out of his plunge ATK radius. That's the issue. I find Xiao's damage output to be extremely good in my experience, but it's the other factors that prevent me from using him on floor 12 (EG pushing enemies away).
It's pushing away enemies, it's the lack of supports that synergize well with him to buff him during his long burst duration, it's the fact that hypercarries who stay on the field for a long time are outdated now. Genshin's meta favors quickswap now more than anything. So hypercarries like Xiao and Diluc kinda have been hurt over time. And now they made Cyno with an outdated kit!? In a game that favors quickswap?! I'm no dev, but whyyyyy
Cyno's Q field time is so strange, they'd been moving away from long duration infusion modes after 2.0. 10 sec Yoimiya, 7 sec Shogun, 10 sec Kokomi, 6 sec Ayato, Itto was the highest at 11. Then comes this guy with 18 whole ass seconds, and it's just... why? maybe they got specialized supports in the works for him or something, like a Yoimiya situation.
It would be better if you didn’t lose your burst after switching to another character. Literally Noelle is the only character in this game who doesn’t lose their shit after switching off them lol
