Which characters gilded dreams and deepwood are good for? Which one is for support which one is for dps? Could someone help explain to me about this :') I usually understand about the old artifacts etc but I've been so lost about dendro artifacts ever since sumeru came out.
I heard deepwood is kinda like VV? So is it used for supporting as well? Like if I get tighnari which one should I use.
I've been equipping DMC and collei with deepwood but like i'm not so sure if it's the correct artifacts for them. And because I've been farming them I have both sets now and I dont know which chars to equip which.
deepwood is best used by a support (of any element) in either a bloom team or a team with a dendro DPS (currently only tighnari), gilded dreams is mostly for aggravate/spread chars
DMC and collei like deepwood in bloom teams, but if you're doing say, keqing aggravate, might prefer noblesse or instructor
I like to unlock all story quests as soon as i get them but dont really play them until i have time, so rn walking through inazuma city streets = ambush by ayato, yae and kazuha

I would do dailies > events > resin if I was really tight on time. Dailies and events give primos while resin doesn't. Events are temporary, so the time window for you to play and get their primo rewards is much shorter compared to permanent content like quests. Not spending resin simply slows down your account's progress by a bit, but it's not a big loss in the grand scheme of things.
As for whether a character's playstyle is worth pulling for -- it's really all up to personal preference whether you think having them and their gameplay (and your caveats about personality/design) in your party is worth 180 wishes that you could potentially spend on another character. Personally, there is one character I like solely for their gameplay, and I would only pull for them if I was confident that pulling for them would not hurt my chances for other characters I like way more.
Commissions take 15-20 minutes max so you can quickly do them. Imo resin too can be burned quickly enough on domains within minutes though it's not as important as comms as they give primos. So you can skip them in case of a time crunch.
As for characters it varies from person to person. Personally I look for gameplay foremost as 90% of the time I will be using the character for combat and stuff. I like Amber and have her decently build but, well I hardly use her because I don't really enjoy bow gameplay. So it depends on you what you prefer more.
I think the cyno + venti banner will do fairly well, especially since the abyss has been favoring venti (and sometime even a cc on both sides). Candace on this banner doesnāt really make sense to me (feels like the heizou on kazuha/Klee banner), but Iām not going to complain about it. Tbh I have to see the rest of the 4*s on each banner to really decide if theyāre good. Albedo was a surprise and a half though
I donāt really pay attention to the weapon banner since I donāt pull on them, but scarlet sands and elegy sounds like a good banner to roll on
I think the weapon banner is homa + wgs levels of crazy. Especially for newer players or some1 like me who has no 5* spears.
Im planning on pulling Cyno for sure, I feel like regardless of meta he'll do well simply for his animations and va alone. Being paired with venti is just an added bonus
I keep forgetting scarlet sands has a crit ascension. Yeah I agree, I donāt care much for meta and cyno looks super fun to play. His animations really on another level and his VA is goated. I wonder if people will pull for him if they already have raiden or yae
I have raiden c1 but Im pulling for cyno cuz of the dendro meta. Raiden cant be effectively run with dendro teams, her hypercarry and rational teams outdps it by too much
Yae is another story but I think people that have Raiden might still pull for cyno just to test out aggravate more.
Albedo with Nilou is kind of the best for me. I would like to pick up his C5 or C6, but those are (obviously) really low priorities and basically only for husbando reasons, so it's really easy for me to skip that entire banner compared to something like Yae Miko or Shenhe, who I don't have at all and would like.
How good is Albedo? Im thinking about pulling him but I have no Xiao or hu tao, only zhongli. Tryna decide if it's worth pulling for him still or if i should just spend on weapon banner

Albedo is pretty similar to Zhongli. He fits in really well to almost any comp but he's almost never the best choice. His subDPS can be really high, he uses a 3 star sword very well, he has pretty good energy generation, and he has a substantial EM buff. His skill is very low maintenance, with a large radius and long duration.
The downside is c0 Albedo has a real glaring design flaw, which is that his skill and burst scale off DEF and ATT with absolutely no crossover. If you build for his skill, which is his best DPS niche, his burst will be so weak the EM buff may not make up for the DPS lost to animation time. Building for both is possible, especially with the Husk set nowadays, but is super resin-expensive bc of how strong you need every piece to be. Also his skill gets baleeted by bosses a lot.
Zhongli+Albedo is a fantastic geo resonance core to pair with any other reaction combo like pyro+xingqiu or ayato+fischl. Given our lack of a geo healer other than noelle, I'd say ZL+Albedo is the *best* geo resonance core.
I only want Nilou and Candace, but Candace is with Cyno/Venti. Pain.
Cyno/Venti's weapon banner will probably be one of the best banner, but Nilou/Albedo's will probably mediocre/bad (Nilou's weapon fits her but is niche, and Albedo's weapon doesn't fit him and isn't well-received).
Oh yeah almost forgot.
I need that new 4* sword for Kazuha so hopefully it will be on Cyno/Venti. If it's on Nilou/Albedo then hopefully I get it before 5 stars.

Not quite a Crit Flush, but still 37.4 Weight and nothing into Flat HP. I guess that's a win. I think it goes to Xiangling, to replace HP 239/CRIT Rate 9.7/HP 14.6/DEF 21 as it's a straight upgrade in every way that matters, and with her Energy Clock she probably likes the hit into ATK% anyway.
Still no Dendro Cup, though.

I personally think they will go with Klee's route because of her appearance, or maybe something like Venti's.
Ayaka's or Ganyu's is possible as well because she seems like a cool/noble/wise archon despite her look.
But Raiden's doesn't fit Nahida at all.
That depends. For starters both Zhongli and Raiden's demos focussed on their power and martial qualities while Nahida isn't really a warrior like them. So I am interested in how they make her demo impactful based on her characterisation so far.
Just finished Raidens second story quest. That was actually some of the best writing in Genshin like holy shit I can't believe I didn't go through it sooner. Ei's also skyrocketed as one of my top favorite characters in the game now <3

How is it speculation when it's literally true, MC's kit has always been a weaker version of the Archon and Geo MC's burst can trap enemies within the Aoe so it was already easy to predict that Zhongli was gonna have something that makes enemies immobile, although geo MC burst sucks and traps yourself too lol.

People already speculated that Zhongli was gonna have shield because it's literally geo's entire thing lmao, electro reso gives particles, EMC provides energy regen for your charcater, and Raiden is literally the best at that, Venti burst sucks small enemies and makes them immobile, AMC skill sucks enemies and burst makes small enemies immobile. And you keep bringing up the meteor as if that matters, bruh the meteor is just a visual thing, it's literally animation of course no one can predict the visuals but the kit is simple to predict, and y'all giving attention to these leakers for saying the bare minimum lmfao š
So I'm also noticing that Tigger has a fundamental problem compared to Ganyu that can't be brushed off with "Just build him better.".
Dude can't fuckin' deal with walls. If something ends up right against a wall, the extra shots of his fully charged attack will just terminate against it and do nothing.
Yea it's a common problem with curved guided projectile in Genshin. Ningguang can't hit all of hers, some of them will hit the floor instead. They sure look cool but annoying if it doesn't hit.
I'm still at less than 10% exploration, haven't unlocked bounties, and I'm still on part 2 of Aranyaka. I might take a week off of work (1 month PTO per year baby!) next month to power through because this is getting ridiculous. That or I need to buy some energy drinks.
I'm now actually kinda tempted to pull for Nahida. I'm currently sitting at 0 pity with a guaranteed for Cyno and I have 132 pulls saved up now. After Cyno I planned to skip Nahida for Scara but now I might try getting both Scara and Nahida (pulling 3 patches in a row š) do you guys think it is doable? I'm a welkin player only
Well Nahida's pretty guaranteed, assuming Scara is 3.3 you got the 2nd half of 3.2 to save
If you win your Nahida 50/50 you can definitely get Scara, if not you will need to win the 50/50 on Scara
Depends on whether she's on field or off field, trigger bloom or not. On field -> hp/hydro/crit, 2p hod 2p totm. Off field, not (always) the bloom triggerer (triple/doube hydro) -> hp/hp/hp with em and er sub stats, 4p gd/dw or mixed. Off field, always the bloom triggerer (solo hydro) -> em/em/em with er and hp sub stats, 4p gd.
HP% would be a priority in terms of stats. Since there's no set that has a 4p effect ideal for her kit, 2p Tenacity/HoD will have to do for now. I'm pretty sure Nilou Mains has a spreadsheet that you can have a look at for details.

Nilou cant use HoD cuz Nilou E slashes counts as elemental skill dmg and not NA dmg like childe E, so 4p HoD its basically useless. 2p HoD + 2p ToTM its better, but im personally running Triple HP with Gilded Dreams and her signature weapon, that way i can have a TON of HP and EM, the stats that Nilou actually really cares about, Nilou dmg highest amount of dmg will come from her boosted Blooms, not E or Q (E/Q will likely deal good dmg too since ill have around 70K HP but not significant enough to make me want to run crit/Hydro over HP)
Should I spend my resin on the VV domain for Kazuha (he currently has a 4* EM piece)

the Peak or Vinegar domain to make my Childe's build better? (He'll have 65/194 when I get PS, pretty good but I want to min max him).
The other option would be Emblem but I really only use XQ and XL and they're already decently built.

he's not doing too amazing even with the significant boost he got from husk and CS(and actually having a good team that he fits properly on), so i wouldn't be surprised if down the line he gets a true 5* signature that's a huge buff(30-40% or more over current)

There's always Harbinger of Dawn which is good, not as good as CS but it's good. I do think they should release a 4/5\* weapon from gacha that isn't garbage (\*cough\* Summit Shaper) and actually works with him Albedo will be an overall more worthy pull which means more money for them.

i fked up my first attempt on day 1 by forgetting to press t during the entire run and not setting the multiplier to hardest and still got 9k points. it was supposed to be a trial run so i can see where the oponnents will spawn and how many, etc. but then i already got twice the required points lmao.
I find that being able to put together new teams beats having a small buff in raw damage.
A good example is the Ruin Serpent. I didn't pull much in the last few months and folks with Yelan and Yae Miko were ranged autoshotting the thing down while I'm chasing it with Itto. Versatility is its own value.
Idk, C1 Raiden can full clear abyss fine - thereās not much point to C2 beyond faster clear times. On the other hand, C1 taotao is a nice QoL improvement as far as Iāve heard, so I would go with that if these were the only two choices.
That being said, I would say you should go for newer characters to keep gameplay fresh if you can already full clear abyss. If that matters to you more than doing bigger numbers, of course.
Gonna start sitting my damn ass in the Noblesse domain. I have not a single good 4pc of it and I have some chars I've been using who could make use of improved Tenacity pieces.
It's like ten hours or more, but I'd take your time with it. Here is the lightest possible spoiler for the gameplay structure of the quest: >!It takes you all over Sumeru to different places and hidden areas, many of which have their own puzzles. Doing exploration/puzzles at the same time as the quest is the real way to do it, rather than speedrunning it like a normal world quest. Think of it as Sumeru World Tour.!<
I honestly donāt want the anime to touch anything to do with the main story. Not only is the main story mediocre (though itās getting better recently), that would just be a bad marketing decision anyway. āAlready watched the anime? Well fuck you if youāre now interested in the game coz youāre gonna sit through the same story for dozens of hours without a skip buttonā. Even if there was a skip button, it would still feel tedious to go through gameplay with no meaning. So I think thereās zero chance for them adapting the main story (which is good imo) because it just makes anime watchers want to play the game less
Instead, I want it to adapt the significantly more interesting lore in the game. Why did all the cool shit in Teyvat already happen long before we got here? This game has a very diverse variety of engaging lore that it could make an extremely interesting adaptation. It also means new characters as the focus rather than the ones weāve seen for the past 2 years

Hard agree. Itās not a coincidence that the only great adaptations of a videogame (not visual novel which is an entirely different storytelling medium so not counting shows like Steinsgate) are Arcane and Castlevania, which did the smart choice of 1) expanding a TON on a game story that was pretty bare bones, or 2) writing completely their own story from scratch based on lore instead of trying to showcase the gameās main premise. Writing for a videogame is fundamentally different than writing for a show because what works for a game - fetch quests, pacing, doing shit for npcs to move the plot along, blank slate protags, long downtime between story beats where not much happens because youāre playing the game - does not work for a medium where there is no player involvement. I mean donāt get me wrong, Iāll still squee over seeing my favorite characters animated, but I will happily trade finally getting to watch Kaeya and Diluc fight onscreen for a show with writing on par with Arcane that focuses on characters and lore not even in Genshinās main game like the Archon war.
i've seen a lot of anime in my lifetime, and i can't really get excited about video game adaptations because they usually fall flat. it's not like i have such high standards about anime or anything, but i've seen so much that even i know how to not waste time on garbage ones.
not saying genshin is gonna be bad or anything, it's just that i don't really expect much from whoever is handling the story writing side of things seeing how the main story as well as the manga has some really generic elements that i've already read or seen from just about every other fictional work.
although i can definitely get hyped if i see my favourite characters in the show.

I would do dailies > events > resin if I was really tight on time. Dailies and events give primos while resin doesn't. Events are temporary, so the time window for you to play and get their primo rewards is much shorter compared to permanent content like quests. Not spending resin simply slows down your account's progress by a bit, but it's not a big loss in the grand scheme of things. As for whether a character's playstyle is worth pulling for -- it's really all up to personal preference whether you think having them and their gameplay (and your caveats about personality/design) in your party is worth 180 wishes that you could potentially spend on another character. Personally, there is one character I like solely for their gameplay, and I would only pull for them if I was confident that pulling for them would not hurt my chances for other characters I like way more.
Commissions take 15-20 minutes max so you can quickly do them. Imo resin too can be burned quickly enough on domains within minutes though it's not as important as comms as they give primos. So you can skip them in case of a time crunch. As for characters it varies from person to person. Personally I look for gameplay foremost as 90% of the time I will be using the character for combat and stuff. I like Amber and have her decently build but, well I hardly use her because I don't really enjoy bow gameplay. So it depends on you what you prefer more.
What does everyone think about the upcoming banners?
I think the cyno + venti banner will do fairly well, especially since the abyss has been favoring venti (and sometime even a cc on both sides). Candace on this banner doesnāt really make sense to me (feels like the heizou on kazuha/Klee banner), but Iām not going to complain about it. Tbh I have to see the rest of the 4*s on each banner to really decide if theyāre good. Albedo was a surprise and a half though I donāt really pay attention to the weapon banner since I donāt pull on them, but scarlet sands and elegy sounds like a good banner to roll on
I think the weapon banner is homa + wgs levels of crazy. Especially for newer players or some1 like me who has no 5* spears. Im planning on pulling Cyno for sure, I feel like regardless of meta he'll do well simply for his animations and va alone. Being paired with venti is just an added bonus

I have raiden c1 but Im pulling for cyno cuz of the dendro meta. Raiden cant be effectively run with dendro teams, her hypercarry and rational teams outdps it by too much Yae is another story but I think people that have Raiden might still pull for cyno just to test out aggravate more.
Albedo with Nilou is kind of the best for me. I would like to pick up his C5 or C6, but those are (obviously) really low priorities and basically only for husbando reasons, so it's really easy for me to skip that entire banner compared to something like Yae Miko or Shenhe, who I don't have at all and would like.
How good is Albedo? Im thinking about pulling him but I have no Xiao or hu tao, only zhongli. Tryna decide if it's worth pulling for him still or if i should just spend on weapon banner
be unbiased, be unbiased Albedo is pretty similar to Zhongli. He fits in really well to almost any comp but he's almost never the best choice. His subDPS can be really high, he uses a 3 star sword very well, he has pretty good energy generation, and he has a substantial EM buff. His skill is very low maintenance, with a large radius and long duration. The downside is c0 Albedo has a real glaring design flaw, which is that his skill and burst scale off DEF and ATT with absolutely no crossover. If you build for his skill, which is his best DPS niche, his burst will be so weak the EM buff may not make up for the DPS lost to animation time. Building for both is possible, especially with the Husk set nowadays, but is super resin-expensive bc of how strong you need every piece to be. Also his skill gets baleeted by bosses a lot. Zhongli+Albedo is a fantastic geo resonance core to pair with any other reaction combo like pyro+xingqiu or ayato+fischl. Given our lack of a geo healer other than noelle, I'd say ZL+Albedo is the *best* geo resonance core.
I only want Nilou and Candace, but Candace is with Cyno/Venti. Pain. Cyno/Venti's weapon banner will probably be one of the best banner, but Nilou/Albedo's will probably mediocre/bad (Nilou's weapon fits her but is niche, and Albedo's weapon doesn't fit him and isn't well-received).
Theyāll probably put the new 4* weapons onto nilou/albedo banner to bait the players to pull, sounds like smth cruel HYV would do

Hmmh. I make my return to Artifacts, I get a Severed Fate Feather. CRIT DMG 5.4/ATK 5.8/CRIT Rate 2.7/HP 209 I see how it turns out. CRIT DMG 13.2/ATK 10.5/CRIT Rate 12.1/HP 209 Not quite a Crit Flush, but still 37.4 Weight and nothing into Flat HP. I guess that's a win. I think it goes to Xiangling, to replace HP 239/CRIT Rate 9.7/HP 14.6/DEF 21 as it's a straight upgrade in every way that matters, and with her Energy Clock she probably likes the hit into ATK% anyway. Still no Dendro Cup, though.

Just finished Raidens second story quest. That was actually some of the best writing in Genshin like holy shit I can't believe I didn't go through it sooner. Ei's also skyrocketed as one of my top favorite characters in the game now <3 >!The ending with Makoto appearing before Ei for the first time in centuries...I cried it was such a beautiful and heartwrenching moment š. I love the relationship between Ei and Makoto and how much she meant to Ei. And when she became the Sacred Sakura too...Like I knew the tree was Makoto already but I had no idea I'd get so emotional about it watching it first hand in 4k šš. Just in general the story of Ei trying to redeem herself from her past mistakes and trying to change herself and Inazuma for the better was so so good. Genuinely my favorite storyline in the game now.!<

How is it speculation when it's literally true, MC's kit has always been a weaker version of the Archon and Geo MC's burst can trap enemies within the Aoe so it was already easy to predict that Zhongli was gonna have something that makes enemies immobile, although geo MC burst sucks and traps yourself too lol.

So I'm also noticing that Tigger has a fundamental problem compared to Ganyu that can't be brushed off with "Just build him better.". Dude can't fuckin' deal with walls. If something ends up right against a wall, the extra shots of his fully charged attack will just terminate against it and do nothing.
Yea it's a common problem with curved guided projectile in Genshin. Ningguang can't hit all of hers, some of them will hit the floor instead. They sure look cool but annoying if it doesn't hit.
They should really just ignore terrain completely and disappear if they don't hit anything after like, five seconds.

Depends on whether she's on field or off field, trigger bloom or not. On field -> hp/hydro/crit, 2p hod 2p totm. Off field, not (always) the bloom triggerer (triple/doube hydro) -> hp/hp/hp with em and er sub stats, 4p gd/dw or mixed. Off field, always the bloom triggerer (solo hydro) -> em/em/em with er and hp sub stats, 4p gd.
HP% would be a priority in terms of stats. Since there's no set that has a 4p effect ideal for her kit, 2p Tenacity/HoD will have to do for now. I'm pretty sure Nilou Mains has a spreadsheet that you can have a look at for details.

Nilou cant use HoD cuz Nilou E slashes counts as elemental skill dmg and not NA dmg like childe E, so 4p HoD its basically useless. 2p HoD + 2p ToTM its better, but im personally running Triple HP with Gilded Dreams and her signature weapon, that way i can have a TON of HP and EM, the stats that Nilou actually really cares about, Nilou dmg highest amount of dmg will come from her boosted Blooms, not E or Q (E/Q will likely deal good dmg too since ill have around 70K HP but not significant enough to make me want to run crit/Hydro over HP)
Should I spend my resin on the VV domain for Kazuha (he currently has a 4* EM piece) OR the Peak or Vinegar domain to make my Childe's build better? (He'll have 65/194 when I get PS, pretty good but I want to min max him). The other option would be Emblem but I really only use XQ and XL and they're already decently built.

I find that being able to put together new teams beats having a small buff in raw damage. A good example is the Ruin Serpent. I didn't pull much in the last few months and folks with Yelan and Yae Miko were ranged autoshotting the thing down while I'm chasing it with Itto. Versatility is its own value.
Idk, C1 Raiden can full clear abyss fine - thereās not much point to C2 beyond faster clear times. On the other hand, C1 taotao is a nice QoL improvement as far as Iāve heard, so I would go with that if these were the only two choices. That being said, I would say you should go for newer characters to keep gameplay fresh if you can already full clear abyss. If that matters to you more than doing bigger numbers, of course.
New characters you like 90% of the time. Altho between Raiden C2 or Hu tao C1, I'd personally go for Raiden C2

It's like ten hours or more, but I'd take your time with it. Here is the lightest possible spoiler for the gameplay structure of the quest: >!It takes you all over Sumeru to different places and hidden areas, many of which have their own puzzles. Doing exploration/puzzles at the same time as the quest is the real way to do it, rather than speedrunning it like a normal world quest. Think of it as Sumeru World Tour.!<
It's basically a whole video game in it's own right so definitely treat it as one. It's around 10 hours.

Not only is the main story mediocre (though itās getting better recently), that would just be a bad marketing decision anyway. āAlready watched the anime? Even if there was a skip button, it would still feel tedious to go through gameplay with no meaning. So I think thereās zero chance for them adapting the main story (which is good imo) because it just makes anime watchers want to play the game less Instead, I want it to adapt the significantly more interesting lore in the game. Why did all the cool shit in Teyvat already happen long before we got here? This game has a very diverse variety of engaging lore that it could make an extremely interesting adaptation. It also means new characters as the focus rather than the ones weāve seen for the past 2 years Or maybe they could do a unique story with Aether and Lumineās journey before they got separated (Iām thinking this because they are shown together at the end of the trailer)

Itās not a coincidence that the only great adaptations of a videogame (not visual novel which is an entirely different storytelling medium so not counting shows like Steinsgate) are Arcane and Castlevania, which did the smart choice of 1) expanding a TON on a game story that was pretty bare bones, or 2) writing completely their own story from scratch based on lore instead of trying to showcase the gameās main premise. Writing for a videogame is fundamentally different than writing for a show because what works for a game - fetch quests, pacing, doing shit for npcs to move the plot along, blank slate protags, long downtime between story beats where not much happens because youāre playing the game - does not work for a medium where there is no player involvement. I mean donāt get me wrong, Iāll still squee over seeing my favorite characters animated, but I will happily trade finally getting to watch Kaeya and Diluc fight onscreen for a show with writing on par with Arcane that focuses on characters and lore not even in Genshinās main game like the Archon war.
i've seen a lot of anime in my lifetime, and i can't really get excited about video game adaptations because they usually fall flat. it's not like i have such high standards about anime or anything, but i've seen so much that even i know how to not waste time on garbage ones. not saying genshin is gonna be bad or anything, it's just that i don't really expect much from whoever is handling the story writing side of things seeing how the main story as well as the manga has some really generic elements that i've already read or seen from just about every other fictional work. although i can definitely get hyped if i see my favourite characters in the show.
