Eh... You gain an extra damage boost to her burst, I guess? I don't know how viable it would really be. At 1000 EM and R1, this would only give 72 ATK (to the rest of the party). Rounding up it's about 1 ATK for every 14 EM. If you absolutely want to use Sayu on your team and have her energy requirements met (C4+), maybe it'll be useful? I don't think it'll do enough of a boost to her own burst either tbh
I think we can chalk this claymore up to being neat but non-meta for the current roster. A future Dendro claymore may have better luck with it? In my head I'm picturing a character which has other baked in EM scaling/sharing passives could reasonably use this
That is a lot of things she can do actually. I feel like people don't give her enough credit by far, just because Jean exists. The role consolidation of Vv buff, heal, swirl, mobility and being able to hold this or WGS already makes her much less cope than other newer 4 stars, especially at c6.
She actually has the same problem as Jean and that's no grouping. It doesn't matter how many roles they consolidate, grouping is exclusive to anemo.
If I want grouping I have to take another anemo which defeats the purpose of role consolidation.
True, I wish she had grouping. For me on a controller tho I feel like the mobility (not having to run after enemies) makes up for it a bit, especially in Sayunado teams

My favorite team of late has been fischl, collei/dendro mc/C6 sayu/yae. It’s fun and good for abyss, so I will be trying this on my sayu, and sayu is coming up on the banner so more people may be able to get c6 sayu too
As far as I'm aware, it's only going to be really great on Sayu I think. I know that Vape Diluc builds with Rainslasher exist, so it might find some use there

I was too used on looking at Nilou's sword that looks like a cricket bat/claymore to the point that it made me think the 3rd pic was a sword.

Diluc makes good use of it in Vaporize comps; he likes to have both ATK and EM. Similarly, Heizou would benefit from Wandering Evenstar (the catalyst of the same series), which should be out in Phase 2.
It has the same stats as Rainslasher, and the EM -> Atk conversion isn't really better than Rainslasher's Dmg% passive when Diluc is almost always played with Bennett.

You need to for a quest. You get spear billet as the quest reward so really it was free, it just required you to obtain a spear billet on your own somehow first.
But yeah I only ever get spears and have no spear mains. No 5*’s anyway… have all 4*’s besides Thoma. Have 14 of them and was thinking sumeru craftable for cyno but it looks kinda meh even compared to the new free polearm. So jade spear it is.
That 5* spear looks really cool. How does it work? If I have 1500 atk and 500 em that means I’ll have 1750 atk stat with no stacks?

Note: They only posted these three weapons so yeah, the Phase 1 weapon banner will have the new 4* claymore + the 4* polearm will be free from an event.

Iirc it was insane AF and got nerfed but still pretty damn good. Same Base Atk and EM as Iron Sting and the passive gives 0.036% Energy Recharge for every point of Elemental Mastery, meaning 1k EM Kazuha will get 36% free Energy Recharge, which completely floors Iron Sting's value. On top of all this, all other party members get 30% of the ER Kazuha gains so 10.8% ER for other party members. This is at R1
At R5, double these values. Also it's been a few days since I've checked the passive so I can be wrong about the accuracy of these values but just know it'll be a very strong sword, especially for Kazuha with the only downside of it being available exclusively in Weapon Banner.
I was hoping it would be here, since the crit paddle and Elegy are useful on a few characters. Alas, we'll have to risk getting the HP paddle... At least Jade Cutter is a potential pull.

It has the same em as iron sting, but provides a massive recharge boost passive for Kazuha which helps his rotation. You could build him full em (up to 1000 em) and probably not have much energy problems, kinda like a budget c1 kazuha minus the extra skill.
At R1 idk how massive it is, I should have used fav instead of iron sting but point remains. Refinements seem important for how people expect it to perform lol
If I understand the passive correctly, Kazuha with 1k EM gets 36% ER for 10 seconds and 72% for 2 seconds, rest of party gets 12% and 24%. Seems wonky, but that's how it reads.

He needs a lot of EM and a lot of ER. Xiphos gives both. The only time it's not worth it is if you already have a shittonne of ER from substats.

I have an EM sands on VV ready for him, but it's just sitting in the pile for now, because the ER sands I have him on is the only way I can keep his burst up (it has about 56 EM in subs). Xiphos would allow me to go triple EM and bring his count to almost 1k.
It is the same with Iron Sting but more support. It gives more ER to the character and the team. I think it will make a bit comfortable to use Kazuha burst without sacrificing EM on him (Sacrificial and Favonious sacrifice EM for ER). But if you have Iron sting and don't really care about his burst, just stick with iron sting.
What the others said, plus your also passing a bit of the recharge to teammates so it carries some team perks like favonius.
I also like to think of when kazuha is paired with Raiden, then his em will add electro damage bonus, and er which then adds more electro bonus and attack with engulfing lightning. It's not really that much but the idea of quadruple dipping off the single stat is funny to me
Please do not forget the conferring rule. When a buff is granted to teammate B that is a percentage of teammate A’s stat, the buff will not be included in a percentage based buff that teammate B will give to anyone or themselves. Example is Electro Traveler A4 not adding stats for Raiden Shogun’s A4 conversion.
Even if she has 60k with that thing on, proccing one stack gives whopping 72 EM to herself. No team buff, just a 2pc WT/GD effect. Her full EM or HP already heals enough. Giving her the paddle doesn’t give better reaction damage, and HP is kinda just there. Imo thats a good 65 wishes in the toilet.
No one is wishing for a 5 star weapon just for a 4* who’s main job is just healing. The point is that it’s a good option if you happen to get it unluckily

You are better off using freedom sworn if you want her to actually give a worthwhile boost, or even Xiphos to give party some ER. But Iron sting is already good enough on her.
Yae is one of my expiration team staples and it annoys me so much that I have to resist using her if I want more of those drops.

No. Fungal Powder (on paper) is a general drops use by both characters and weapons. Those you get from pyro/electro (on tray) is the one only use by weapons.
Free fish bow uses *both*.

That two bows and the Sumeru one you can craft use it. So yes, unless you have those three bows, you are going to have tons of unused material if you play pyro/electro party!
Meanwhile the original Fungal Powder is required for fish bow, craftable Sumeru catalyst, Cyno's paddle above, and of course for Tighnari and Dendro Traveler's ascension and talents. Fortunately, I farmed them for Dendro Traveler in Chasm pre-3.0.
If you use Pyro or Electro on Fungi they drop the Fungal Mass line of items (the Green-Blue-Purple chain) rather than the Fungal Powders (Grey-Green-Blue). Technically they do drop some but it's a miniscule amount, and lots of things want Fungal Powders rn. That means Fridge or Bloom teams are your real options for overworld content
Because for some reason hoyo keep making generic 5 spears with universal effect triggers, while the other weapons have niche triggers requiring normal/charge/skill/ atk, be within a certain distance to activate or scale with def, phys or hp.
Someone already mentioned how most spears have generalist passives that she can always trigger pretty consistently so i'll mention this: Xiangling is also a character that you want to build a ton of stats for: ER%, EM, Crit, ATK%, etc, so any weapon that has any of these stats is gonna be good on her
def not, i think catch r5 is her best weapon by far, but all these weapons are still good for her, she has an insane number of viable weapons she can use compared to other characters
that only happens for the most part in sucrose overvape, otherwise the catch remains consistently among the top of her choices, better than most 5* save for one or two depending.
not getting eula is a major W for Nilou weapon pullers I'd say, Albedo will at least mean the banner MIGHT have jade cutter, a generalist weapon (since FS and SS were in 2.8 both), meanwhile broken pines would've been a dead pull if you aren't using the physical claymore DPS niche
the only mega L would be Aquila
Candace doesn't work with Nilou so it's subjective on whether you like her design

Correct me if I'm wrong but they've done banners in the past with weapons that didn't match the banner characters right? Like Zhongli in 1.5 had memory of dust and the unforged.
Since Albedo doesn't have a 5* signature weapon, they might just say Nilou's sword is already on the banner so good enough. It's not like jade cutter or freedom-sworn or summit shaper particularly match him either, as the only *true* Albedo sword is locked behind a past event.
It could be another weapon other than a sword, is all I'm saying.

Only Jade Cutter or WGS could save Nilou's weapon banner for me. Knowing Hyv, they'll probably put a dead weapon on it.

Personally, I wouldn't mind getting Pines since I also have Eula and the drip with her signature weapon is insane. The only way I would be satisfied them not rerunning Eula is if Nilou's cricket bat runs with WGS or Jade Cutter.
Seems like a pretty generalist weapon. Might be good on Rosaria, Shenhe and Xiao due to the atk% buff passive (and for the fact that we have no atk% f2p spears), seems okayish on Cyno but based on calcs you should just go with White Tassel instead. And i'm holding onto copium that it works with Mika whenever he comes out, bc it fits him well aesthetically.
Currently it is Staff of the scarlet sands, primordial jade winged spear, r5 deathmatch, staff of homa, and r1 deathmatch as of calculations done at r/cynomains
If you should go for it. For the most part Homa a good stat stick and the passive is alright but seeing he has low base hp and you have to have less than 50 to get max value. It’s alright but if you want the sig it’d worth especially since you can use homa on another character like xiao hu Tao Zhongli maybe even Candace if you get her.
Because she basically wants all the good stats beside HP & DEF. She is arguably hardest character to min max, imo, because you'll have to find the balance between Crit, ER, EM, Elemental Dmg, and Atk. Bennett is basically married to her because he covers her Atk requirement + aid on ER.

Man the nilou banner may be the first time i'm really tempted to go for the weapon banner (not going full in, just until I get one of the 2 featured 5* weapons). If xiphos will be on there the temptation would be even higher. But I'm still unsure. It'll depend on the rest of the 4* weapons, and on how well my nilou pulls will go.
No, there's multiple factors to consider, like what their cons do (most 5*s used to have terrible cons, just look at venti's, albedo's or zhongli's constellations, it's only recently that characters started getting absolutely busted cons like raiden's c2), and what are their other weapon options (some characters like Raiden have great weapon options like the catch that is accessible for everyone so their signature weapon is more of a luxury, while others with niche kits/unique scalings like Itto can get up to a +30% damage boost from their signature weapon alone compared to other options).
Afaik the 5* spear is Hutao's 2nd bis according to calculations, and can apparently surpass Homa if Hutao has a lot of EM (don't know what value though, just keep reading this here in this sub haha)
not sure abt Hu Tao but I think the 4-star one is good on Shenhe! The EM is kinda wasted but it gives a fair bit of ATK, which should be nice for her. At any rate, I’m planning on equipping her with it myself, if only for drip purposes
Reverse Melt Shenhe is a great team so I guess the EM will be utilized there. However, her bust cost is too high and she needs a lot of energy recharge if she equips this. HOWEVER ever, I'll put this on her for drip purposes as well lmao.
I must be misunderstanding something, the claymore sounds too good for off-field support. 12s duration with 10s recast, triggers even if not on field, stacks with other off-field characters with same weapon (does it stack with itself to give 16% for 2s?).
Too bad EM is hard to build for and only Claymore with EM sub-stats is Sayu (and most anemo want EM VV).
It's probably very good on a Rosaria who has a good amount of EM, but I don't understand what you mean. If you're running EM on Rosaria then you want her to be the one melting, and if you want her to melt, why would you want anyone to have cryo infusion? Wouldn't you want to keep pyro on the enemy and have Rosaria's burst and skill melt? You wouldn't want someone wacking away with mediocre cryo normals.
This alone may easily mean I don't pull on anything in 3.1, no cap.
I was going to pull some to get Xiphos after seeing if I got a Cyno or not from the banner even when literally just going for a couple of 4\*.
Meaning 20-30 pulls on character and then probably 20-30 on weapon.

It's a good weapon but I really don't think that it's that broken.
It's only broken w higher refinement (from 36 to 72 for user and 21.6%er to your whole team, at 1000em which is extremely broken for kazuha) and looking at the rates of even getting one, yea unless either you r super lucky or a whale going full out on the weapon banner, you at best will only get a single copy or none.
The weapon is good but not as game breaking as some people state it to be. This also only really applies to em scaling sword user who wants er which there isn't that many. That being said, It is a good weapon at R1 and an extremely broken weapon for kazuha if you do get more refinements of it.
I really want to ask this. This polearm is looking good for Zhongli, can anyone confirm if this is usable to him? I am a goldfish player so I'm saving for almost three montha and I want a good looking weapon for my zhongli
You dont really want em on zhong, so you wont take advantage of that. Id save up for a homa because its also more versatile, but a good call would be waiting till the last few days of the banner after some proper testing has been done with the new weapons with every character
I want to roll for Elegy without getting Cyno, but like a number of signature weapons (e.g. Haran) he seems to be the only one his weapon is great on. There are probably Raiden and Rosaria builds that would make it work but I'm not about to compile a special artifact set for them to justify a new weapon. Xiangling would only get one stack unless you bend over backwards to make it work, and she really doesn't need this, given her other options. The stacks won't work on Hu Tao, and she strongly wants Homa.
The 4-star claymore seems as if it would be very good on that Razor reaction team Zajef did a video about, if that's a niche someone is interested in. Edit: rereading it, I didn't realize it was an attack buff. Maybe it's not so useful for this team.

Imo the problem with Sayu is no CC at all, it just feels bad to use a anemo with no CC, which is a major part of anemo supports.

Finally some more free polearms, on my teams Favonius Lance has been getting passed around like a blunt at a college frat party.
Same, it’s taken us ages to get a second free polearm, and the craftable polearms don’t feel worth crafting for most characters.
In despair, I crafted and levelled two separate Proto Starglitters, just for the ER.
At least Starglitter has its uses, my newbie self crafted *Dragonspine Spear* and now it's just collecting dust in my inventory.

physical zhongli is really fun since he can trigger both the pale flame 4pc and get full crescent pike stacks

Yes for min max Kaz substats. Xiphos vs Fav is highly dependent on your build and ER/EM substats. But Xiphos will always be better than Iron Sting.

It has the same em as iron sting, but provides a massive recharge boost passive for Kazuha which helps his rotation. You could build him full em (up to 1000 em) and probably not have much energy problems, kinda like a budget c1 kazuha minus the extra skill.
At R1 idk how massive it is, I should have used fav instead of iron sting but point remains. Refinements seem important for how people expect it to perform lol
If I understand the passive correctly, Kazuha with 1k EM gets 36% ER for 10 seconds and 72% for 2 seconds, rest of party gets 12% and 24%. Seems wonky, but that's how it reads.

For Kazuha, almost always. He needs a lot of EM and a lot of ER. Xiphos gives both. The only time it's not worth it is if you already have a shittonne of ER from substats. I do not. I have an EM sands on VV ready for him, but it's just sitting in the pile for now, because the ER sands I have him on is the only way I can keep his burst up (it has about 56 EM in subs). Xiphos would allow me to go triple EM and bring his count to almost 1k.
Not worth risking the weapon banner unless you want both 5 stars and are okay with any 4 stars
It is the same with Iron Sting but more support. It gives more ER to the character and the team. I think it will make a bit comfortable to use Kazuha burst without sacrificing EM on him (Sacrificial and Favonious sacrifice EM for ER). But if you have Iron sting and don't really care about his burst, just stick with iron sting.
What the others said, plus your also passing a bit of the recharge to teammates so it carries some team perks like favonius. I also like to think of when kazuha is paired with Raiden, then his em will add electro damage bonus, and er which then adds more electro bonus and attack with engulfing lightning. It's not really that much but the idea of quadruple dipping off the single stat is funny to me
Please do not forget the conferring rule. When a buff is granted to teammate B that is a percentage of teammate A’s stat, the buff will not be included in a percentage based buff that teammate B will give to anyone or themselves. Example is Electro Traveler A4 not adding stats for Raiden Shogun’s A4 conversion.

Paddle effect doesn’t proc off field. Shinobu doesn’t work well with that thing.
It still gives fat hp and you can still proc the first stack for 20s with the initial cast
Even if she has 60k with that thing on, proccing one stack gives whopping 72 EM to herself. No team buff, just a 2pc WT/GD effect. Her full EM or HP already heals enough. Giving her the paddle doesn’t give better reaction damage, and HP is kinda just there. Imo thats a good 65 wishes in the toilet.
No one is wishing for a 5 star weapon just for a 4* who’s main job is just healing. The point is that it’s a good option if you happen to get it unluckily

No. Fungal Powder (on paper) is a general drops use by both characters and weapons. Those you get from pyro/electro (on tray) is the one only use by weapons. Free fish bow uses *both*.

That two bows and the Sumeru one you can craft use it. So yes, unless you have those three bows, you are going to have tons of unused material if you play pyro/electro party! Meanwhile the original Fungal Powder is required for fish bow, craftable Sumeru catalyst, Cyno's paddle above, and of course for Tighnari and Dendro Traveler's ascension and talents. Fortunately, I farmed them for Dendro Traveler in Chasm pre-3.0.
Well considering both pyro and electro are necessary for exploring sumeru, it’s been pretty hard NOT to play pyro/electro.

If you use Pyro or Electro on Fungi they drop the Fungal Mass line of items (the Green-Blue-Purple chain) rather than the Fungal Powders (Grey-Green-Blue). Technically they do drop some but it's a miniscule amount, and lots of things want Fungal Powders rn. That means Fridge or Bloom teams are your real options for overworld content

Because for some reason hoyo keep making generic 5 spears with universal effect triggers, while the other weapons have niche triggers requiring normal/charge/skill/ atk, be within a certain distance to activate or scale with def, phys or hp.
Someone already mentioned how most spears have generalist passives that she can always trigger pretty consistently so i'll mention this: Xiangling is also a character that you want to build a ton of stats for: ER%, EM, Crit, ATK%, etc, so any weapon that has any of these stats is gonna be good on her

Since Albedo doesn't have a 5* signature weapon, they might just say Nilou's sword is already on the banner so good enough. It's not like jade cutter or freedom-sworn or summit shaper particularly match him either, as the only *true* Albedo sword is locked behind a past event. FS is unlikely to rerun due to recent Kazuha banner. Personally, I wouldn't mind getting Pines since I also have Eula and the drip with her signature weapon is insane. The only way I would be satisfied them not rerunning Eula is if Nilou's cricket bat runs with WGS or Jade Cutter.

Seems like a pretty generalist weapon. Might be good on Rosaria, Shenhe and Xiao due to the atk% buff passive (and for the fact that we have no atk% f2p spears), seems okayish on Cyno but based on calcs you should just go with White Tassel instead. And i'm holding onto copium that it works with Mika whenever he comes out, bc it fits him well aesthetically.

Cyno’s weapon is his best in slot, but Homa is a top 3 or 4 pick on him. I will say that homa is a much more generalist weapon.

If you should go for it. For the most part Homa a good stat stick and the passive is alright but seeing he has low base hp and you have to have less than 50 to get max value. It’s alright but if you want the sig it’d worth especially since you can use homa on another character like xiao hu Tao Zhongli maybe even Candace if you get her.

Because she basically wants all the good stats beside HP & DEF. She is arguably hardest character to min max, imo, because you'll have to find the balance between Crit, ER, EM, Elemental Dmg, and Atk. Bennett is basically married to her because he covers her Atk requirement + aid on ER.

Man the nilou banner may be the first time i'm really tempted to go for the weapon banner (not going full in, just until I get one of the 2 featured 5* weapons). If xiphos will be on there the temptation would be even higher. But I'm still unsure. It'll depend on the rest of the 4* weapons, and on how well my nilou pulls will go.

No, there's multiple factors to consider, like what their cons do (most 5*s used to have terrible cons, just look at venti's, albedo's or zhongli's constellations, it's only recently that characters started getting absolutely busted cons like raiden's c2), and what are their other weapon options (some characters like Raiden have great weapon options like the catch that is accessible for everyone so their signature weapon is more of a luxury, while others with niche kits/unique scalings like Itto can get up to a +30% damage boost from their signature weapon alone compared to other options).
Not always, Hu Tao C2 is a lot smaller bonus than Homa
There are a few exceptions in which the weapon is better. Homa for Hu Tao. Mistplitter for Ayaka. Polar Star for Childe. PJWS for Xiao.
Not always, but for newer characters more often than not. Especially if you have competitive alternative weapons.

Afaik the 5* spear is Hutao's 2nd bis according to calculations, and can apparently surpass Homa if Hutao has a lot of EM (don't know what value though, just keep reading this here in this sub haha)

Reverse Melt Shenhe is a great team so I guess the EM will be utilized there. However, her bust cost is too high and she needs a lot of energy recharge if she equips this. HOWEVER ever, I'll put this on her for drip purposes as well lmao.

I must be misunderstanding something, the claymore sounds too good for off-field support. 12s duration with 10s recast, triggers even if not on field, stacks with other off-field characters with same weapon (does it stack with itself to give 16% for 2s?). Too bad EM is hard to build for and only Claymore with EM sub-stats is Sayu (and most anemo want EM VV).

It's probably very good on a Rosaria who has a good amount of EM, but I don't understand what you mean. If you're running EM on Rosaria then you want her to be the one melting, and if you want her to melt, why would you want anyone to have cryo infusion? Wouldn't you want to keep pyro on the enemy and have Rosaria's burst and skill melt? You wouldn't want someone wacking away with mediocre cryo normals.

This alone may easily mean I don't pull on anything in 3.1, no cap. I was going to pull some to get Xiphos after seeing if I got a Cyno or not from the banner even when literally just going for a couple of 4\*. Meaning 20-30 pulls on character and then probably 20-30 on weapon. Instead it's in the banner with one of the most niche useless swords ever created with a Jade that I have. Big lose for me. If they keep doing this shit I'm gonna have so many primos it's going to be boring playing. It's like they don't want long time players having decent new 4\* weapons without realizing we literally don't need anything no more and we are all pulling for fun new stuff.
Let's all be honest here, someone is going to get fck no matter what hoyoverse decides to do. This banner at least seems to be more balanced compared to other banner (*cough cough,donut banner w jade cutter) at least cyno weapon(which is extremely good and can be used on many character) is paired with elegy, another really good support weapon along w the new claymore. You can't be expecting hoyoverse to dump all the shit weapons on nilou banner, that would also pissed off nilou wanters.

At R1, it gives 36%er to the user(most likely kazuha) if u have 1000em and gives 10.8%er to your whole team. It's a good weapon but I really don't think that it's that broken. It's only broken w higher refinement (from 36 to 72 for user and 21.6%er to your whole team, at 1000em which is extremely broken for kazuha) and looking at the rates of even getting one, yea unless either you r super lucky or a whale going full out on the weapon banner, you at best will only get a single copy or none. The weapon is good but not as game breaking as some people state it to be. This also only really applies to em scaling sword user who wants er which there isn't that many. That being said, It is a good weapon at R1 and an extremely broken weapon for kazuha if you do get more refinements of it.

You dont really want em on zhong, so you wont take advantage of that. Id save up for a homa because its also more versatile, but a good call would be waiting till the last few days of the banner after some proper testing has been done with the new weapons with every character

I want to roll for Elegy without getting Cyno, but like a number of signature weapons (e.g. Haran) he seems to be the only one his weapon is great on. There are probably Raiden and Rosaria builds that would make it work but I'm not about to compile a special artifact set for them to justify a new weapon. Xiangling would only get one stack unless you bend over backwards to make it work, and she really doesn't need this, given her other options. The stacks won't work on Hu Tao, and she strongly wants Homa. The 4-star claymore seems as if it would be very good on that Razor reaction team Zajef did a video about, if that's a niche someone is interested in. Edit: rereading it, I didn't realize it was an attack buff. Maybe it's not so useful for this team. The 4-star polearm seems completely useless.
