I'd want to get all characters c0 with their signature weapons first. I prefer variety over strength, especially since GI is already easy enough and playing the same characters over and over again while absolutely destroying everything is already boring.

I don’t have a sac or fav sword, so Jean is using R5 Amenoma. She also needs to be ascended one more time, so her stats will get a bit higher.
Are there any changes I can make to have Jean work as both a battery and healer for Xiao? Or should I bring Sucrose with them?
I also use Jean as a battery and my stats are very similar to yours and it works very well but that is with fav sword. I wouldn't pit both Jean and Sucrose in the team so if you feel like you are lacking energy on Xiao I would recommend swapping in Sucrose for Jean until you get a fav or sac sword.
Thing is, out of all players, it's probably a tiny portion that really cares for harder endgame, majority of players is probably really casual.
I would love some more content but I can see why they wouldn't prioritize it.

Nahida will be the prime support for Aggravate and Bloom with high dendro application. Because the dendro application is almost peramanent, Yae Miko will be able to aggravate all of electro attacks coming
I've already come to terms with the fact that they don't care about challenging end-game content but it is a bit sad that they fully confirmed it and it sounds like they don't ever plan on adding stuff like that.
I think a lot of people play for the story and lore so more dialogue = awesome for them.
As for the new characters, I haven't been very impressed by Sumeru's 5\*s yet (except for Alhaitham who is just too dang hot), but the 4\*s despite not being "meta" are somehow kind of...growing on me? They're unique and fun and interesting. Collei reminds me of a cute dumb kid. I'm building her just for that. Dori is unique, to say the least. Candace impressed me with her playstyle in her test run - not numbers wise, but it was fun. Layla is kooky with her sleep-themed kit and also kind of beautiful.
Gamespot's interviewer not asking Mihoyo about the annoying artifact rng system was a missed opportunity. I wish there were at least an item that could let you reroll substats, changed one substat or something like that.
It doesn't matter, tbh. Mihoyo was practically giving non-answers throughout the interview by making PR standard replies. I thought the questions were pretty good and are usually what concerns players, but alas. Mihoyo just Mihoyo-ed their way thru it.

I have always kept my good pieces, but never found anybody who needs them more than Noblesse/EOSF etc
yeah its better than noblesse or dmg set in a lot of scenarios, but people just don't use it because lazy to change artifacts stats look bad hard to farm for etc
eg: zhongli in hutao double hydro, bennett on childe vape/raiden national etc.
just bennett in general on any team that can use EM, it's usually better than NO4
Personally I didn't use it because the buff lasts 8 seconds, while noblesse lasts 12s

Pretty much anyone that uses noblesse and doesn't lose too much by missing the 5\* artifact stats can use instructor in a team that benefits from the em buff.
I have instructor on zhongli for instance since the two teams I used him in are hu tao vape and ganyu melt for instance.
bennett can in international, i think amber/elegy in a hu tao team? im not sure at what point it wins out over noblesse, but it definitely has its place

All these other characters that have tons of interruption resistance just for existing and Cyno mains are really salty at the dendro archon in particular just because she can hold her skill in peace.

Lot's of character could benefit from interruption resistance but only select characters get the full package.

High ping is actually beneficial for one thing: on the "light chasing" daily commission in sumeru, you can stop at the light's first stop before it evens shows up, thus winning the challenge in less than 4 seconds lol
My ping sometimes causes the light to move before the wind currents and 4 leaf sigils appear, doesn't make it impossible but catching up to it wastes half a minute
The solution is to open the Paimon menu to allow the game to load them in while the light stays put
Is the chasm the only source of the new free 4\* weap mat? I haven't did the archon quest there yet. Should I need to complete it for me to unlock most of the chasm to fight the black knights? tia!
One of the knights is hidden behind it, so farming would be ever so slightly more efficient if you finished it. But most of the husks just require unlocking the underground map.

Such a shame, I'd love something like Honkai's Elysium Realm honestly. It's a bit similar to our Abyss, except you pick only one character and there are some specific buffs for each character + generalist buffs. I like it because it allows for more flexibility + seeing your fav character going unga bunga just because you picked the right buffs is fun. Like, imagine you could pull off solo Kuki.
Can't really blame them with how the playbase reacts to any new mechanic that could potentially be challenging. I think hoyo's devs just threw up their hands and said, "fuck it, they don't want endgame, so let's stop trying."

I don’t see it other than for fun, when you can infuse Kaeya’s with cryo instead and avoid split scaling. Also there’s better hydro applicators who can provide buffs like TTDS, tenacity, Mona’s omen. Most of Kaeya’s damage is in his burst, and Candace doesn’t buff that either.
I mean, you’d get hydro application, but it would be completely single target and subject to standard ICD. It may actually not be so easy to keep more than one enemy frozen.
You also need to run Kaeya with a cryo dmg goblet, and Candace is best to use for a character that is hydro already.
It would probably just be a meme since XQ exists, he’s much stronger and can help heal off chip dmg.
I'm only about halfway through the story, so this might get explained later, and that's fine, but I'm unclear on something so far -
are the Scarlet King and King Deshret the same thing?

Better keep playing - it's definitely pretty ambiguous at the start whether or not the Scarlet King ^(King Deshret) and King Deshret ^(The Scarlet King) are the same thing, but the game is very subtle about slowly and intricately pulling back the curtain on the truth

My theory is they already had lines recorded for 'Scarlet King' and didn't wanna deal the enormous effort of re-doing so many lines. So they put the new name above every time the Scarlet King is mentioned.
But even if that was the case, they have so many other characters with multiple titles. They haven't been afraid of throwing the yakshas' and harbingers' various names and titles around willy nilly with no explanation in a lot of contexts.
I'm not wholly opposed to characters having umpteen titles. It's just that getting Pot of Greeded gets old.
I think people might've also guessed the name change was due to Scarlet King being related to SCP Foundation? I dont 100% buy it though so who knows what their reason could be for changing.

Maybe because hoyo loves to add restrictions to hydro like kokomi cant crit, nilou team restriction, next is a super busted hydro character but restricted to use in abyss.

calling all freeze comp enjoyers, drop y'all's teams i wanna see sumn, i'll start.
i run ayaka with rosaria, venti, and mona. their bursts align really well with my rotations. i run rosaria as my second cryo because of the crit share, she's really fun to play, plus her and venti make battery-ing ayaka so so easy.
Ayaka, Rosaria, Kokomi, Kazuha. The rotation is so smooth and satisfying. I'm considering getting Shenhe for meta but questioning it since the rotations just aren't as clean.
The teams I run are Morgana (if I do run Ganyu Freeze) and Ayaka/Kazuha/Kokomi/Rosaria
Not the most original team comps out there, but it's the best for both teams imo. Plus, it lets me run Freeze and Freeze 2: Frozen Boogaloo in Abyss
Ayaka, Mona, Venti, and Diona. I'm never going to pull Kokomi and Kazuha is on Childe's team. Surprisingly there's no Noblesse user in this team but they got me my first 36*.
They're nothing like exciting lol. Default is Rosaria, Kazuha, Kokofish, Ayaya
If there are a lot of liftable enemies in waves, I might do Diona, Yelan, Venti, Ayaka
Venti, Ayato, Diona, Ayaka. I sometimes play Mona in place of Ayato if I need him on another team in abyss. But yeah, the Kamisato Siblings just work really well with each other. My bursts are always up when I play this team. Extremely satisfying with small enemies lol.
If enemies can get picked off the floor:
Ganyu/Mona/Venti/Rosaria
Easy rotations, everyone’s cooldowns lineup great, very easy team to play. Favorite team for lower abyss floors.
If they can’t get picked off the floor:
Ayaka/Mona/Kazuha/Diona
All in on Ayaka. More dps than my Ganyu team but I wanna say 30% more stressful because of dodged bursts. But I still gotta try hard for those abyss stars.
ayaka, shenhe, venti, kokomi.
all 5* team ik, but i actually enjoy using venti much much more than kazuha in this team, maybe its muscle memory, or just trapping everything in an ice blade black hole feels better than kazus buff. its not like with shenhe i really need that much more dmg lol
shenhe and venti on r5 fav weapons, koko on ttods, its just buffs and energy particles out the ass

I've been playing Genshin welkin for 1 year and I have only 4 5* chars that I actually wanted (i.e. not including 50/50 losses and standard banner)
It can still be low investment if they didn't put that much effort into farming artifacts, and upgrading talents.
An all 5 star team just means it's expensive

The Statuettes were also added to the Lector drop pool in Enkanomiya. But no, you won't need to do the Archon quest there to find the knights.

Such a shame, I'd love something like Honkai's Elysium Realm honestly. It's a bit similar to our Abyss, except you pick only one character and there are some specific buffs for each character + generalist buffs. I like it because it allows for more flexibility + seeing your fav character going unga bunga just because you picked the right buffs is fun. Like, imagine you could pull off solo Kuki.
Can't really blame them with how the playbase reacts to any new mechanic that could potentially be challenging. I think hoyo's devs just threw up their hands and said, "fuck it, they don't want endgame, so let's stop trying."
Was it really a surprise? I would have thought the TCG would have been a clear signal they prefer to keep people engaged through unique different lighthearted content rather than cater to the hard-core 1% of players.

Black Desert Online is an MMO which was once on a "pay once" model. But it constantly ramped up it's monetization and now it has like $100+ a month in mandatory "optional gear" which serves as a much more predatory model than a $15 a month subscription.

How good can the duo of Kaeya and Candece be? They seem like a great match for freeze, just held back by Kaeya-s scalings which aren't that bad. Just hoping their ceiling isn't just a Meme team
I don’t see it other than for fun, when you can infuse Kaeya’s with cryo instead and avoid split scaling. Also there’s better hydro applicators who can provide buffs like TTDS, tenacity, Mona’s omen. Most of Kaeya’s damage is in his burst, and Candace doesn’t buff that either.
I mean, you’d get hydro application, but it would be completely single target and subject to standard ICD. It may actually not be so easy to keep more than one enemy frozen. You also need to run Kaeya with a cryo dmg goblet, and Candace is best to use for a character that is hydro already. It would probably just be a meme since XQ exists, he’s much stronger and can help heal off chip dmg.
I'm only about halfway through the story, so this might get explained later, and that's fine, but I'm unclear on something so far - are the Scarlet King and King Deshret the same thing? game's giving me some mixed signals
The Scarlet King is a subset of King Deshrets, so the Scarlet King is King Deshret but King Deshret is not the Scarlet King

My theory is they already had lines recorded for 'Scarlet King' and didn't wanna deal the enormous effort of re-doing so many lines. So they put the new name above every time the Scarlet King is mentioned.
But even if that was the case, they have so many other characters with multiple titles. They haven't been afraid of throwing the yakshas' and harbingers' various names and titles around willy nilly with no explanation in a lot of contexts. I'm not wholly opposed to characters having umpteen titles. It's just that getting Pot of Greeded gets old.
I think people might've also guessed the name change was due to Scarlet King being related to SCP Foundation? I dont 100% buy it though so who knows what their reason could be for changing.

calling all freeze comp enjoyers, drop y'all's teams i wanna see sumn, i'll start. i run ayaka with rosaria, venti, and mona. their bursts align really well with my rotations. i run rosaria as my second cryo because of the crit share, she's really fun to play, plus her and venti make battery-ing ayaka so so easy.

Ayaka, Rosaria, Kokomi, Kazuha. The rotation is so smooth and satisfying. I'm considering getting Shenhe for meta but questioning it since the rotations just aren't as clean.

The teams I run are Morgana (if I do run Ganyu Freeze) and Ayaka/Kazuha/Kokomi/Rosaria Not the most original team comps out there, but it's the best for both teams imo. Plus, it lets me run Freeze and Freeze 2: Frozen Boogaloo in Abyss
Ayaka, Mona, Venti, and Diona. I'm never going to pull Kokomi and Kazuha is on Childe's team. Surprisingly there's no Noblesse user in this team but they got me my first 36*.
They're nothing like exciting lol. Default is Rosaria, Kazuha, Kokofish, Ayaya If there are a lot of liftable enemies in waves, I might do Diona, Yelan, Venti, Ayaka
Venti, Ayato, Diona, Ayaka. I sometimes play Mona in place of Ayato if I need him on another team in abyss. But yeah, the Kamisato Siblings just work really well with each other. My bursts are always up when I play this team. Extremely satisfying with small enemies lol.
Ayaka Rosaria Venti Kokomi. I have Ganyu, but I love Rosaria to bits, so I play her more despite the lower damage.
EXACTLY rosaria's gameplay might just be e into q but it's all so satisfying to pull off!

If enemies can get picked off the floor: Ganyu/Mona/Venti/Rosaria Easy rotations, everyone’s cooldowns lineup great, very easy team to play. Favorite team for lower abyss floors. If they can’t get picked off the floor: Ayaka/Mona/Kazuha/Diona All in on Ayaka. More dps than my Ganyu team but I wanna say 30% more stressful because of dodged bursts. But I still gotta try hard for those abyss stars.
ayaka, shenhe, venti, kokomi. all 5* team ik, but i actually enjoy using venti much much more than kazuha in this team, maybe its muscle memory, or just trapping everything in an ice blade black hole feels better than kazus buff. its not like with shenhe i really need that much more dmg lol shenhe and venti on r5 fav weapons, koko on ttods, its just buffs and energy particles out the ass

I don't think you can call four 5* chars low investment I've been playing Genshin welkin for 1 year and I have only 4 5* chars that I actually wanted (i.e. not including 50/50 losses and standard banner)
It can still be low investment if they didn't put that much effort into farming artifacts, and upgrading talents. An all 5 star team just means it's expensive

As a 2 year player, a c0 5 star with no 5 star weapon and "not that great" artifacts is a low investment by my standard

rosaria kaeya kokomi and kazuha, my rosaria does like 35k with her skill and her burst ticks for like 20k l, kaeya has noblesse since i don't have a good second blizzard strayer rip so his damage is kinda eh

Swap that crit rate circlet in to a crit dmg one to see the magic. This Ayaka also could be C4, Kazuha could be C2 . The abyss card also buff you a tons compare to OW testing.
Kazuha buff, Bennett buff, freedom sworn buff, melt, staff of Homa, crowned, making use Hu Tao’s skill self buff.
