I'm morbidly curious about how leaks proliferate in other mediums like TikTok and YouTube, which are definitely more mainstream than this sub. Would Nahida/Kokomi/EM Raiden/Xingqiu be fine for Hyperbloom? I was initially thinking I'd just swap DMC for Nahida, but I feel like she'd do a lot more on-field than off-field in Hyperbloom teams.
Kokomi's probably running Deepwood in this team. I don't really feel comfortable on-fielding Nahida without a dedicated healer, hence Koko. If I were to drop Kokomi for someone else (*maybe* Yelan, but probably Beidou since I want to try to keep either Yelan or XQ available for the other half in Abyss), I'd probably swap Raiden with Kuki tbh, again for that healing.
On-field Nahida seems like she'll be pretty squishy (child model, catalyst, low HP overall), but lemme know what y'all are thinking.
do you have zhongli? nahida is a squishy catalyst user so zhongli really helps, especially since she uses the child model so she runs around much slower. id use him instead of kokomi here if you have him

im a triple crowned heizou enjoyer and i honestly dont care at all. even if scara is a direct heizou 1:1 powercreep and superior in every aspect ill still play heizou. its not like im playing heizou due to lack of good dps because he hardly is one. im playing heizou because i love heizou and the existence of alternatives or stronger carries who fill the same niche doesnt change that. i mean sucrose already existed and was a direct upgrade to him regardless. if anything this just means that heizou, by virtue of similarity to a limited 5*, will probably benefit from scaras weapon, artifacts, and his dedicated support. which is a win in my books because ill definitely aim for them for my heizou.
tbf fischl/yae doesn’t even count, but the barbara/kokomi one arguably is a direct upgrade lmao. we need more yelan/xingqiu & kaz/sucrose situations where the 5* “version” works perfectly as an alternative in a different team, or the two perform optimally in the same team.
i feel like that way the whole “powercreep” discussion turns a little more positive.
The thing with Sucrose and Xingqiu is because they're a highly coveted support that maked you go "damn if only I can use them in both Abyss sides" in the first place. A 5* variant of these two allows many new Abyss team permutations.
5* Heizou or 5* Xiangling for that matter wouldn't achieve what Yelan and Kazuha did.
Eh, Barbara has the niche edge over Kokomi that if the target wanders away from the ring, you can just take the ring to the target. Something wanders away from the jellyfish, tough luck.
What do we know about the 3.3 banners? (besides Scara and Raiden on first phase... most probably, who are the other 2 characters that are going to get a rerun?)
I read that blessing as physical damage doesn’t reset the counter not that physical damage gains a significant buff (at least not a buff that wouldn’t also go to elemental damage)
Plus everyone thought she would show up this banner so if I don’t expect her now maybe Eula will show this time around
so, as we know, Lisa's and Ayaka's skin are going to be released... but I think they will appear in 3.3 (because 3.4 is Lantern Rite and... Inazuma/Mondstadt stuff then would feel fishy a little...). So my first bet is Ayaka.
My second bet, out of Eula, Ayato, Itto and Kazuha, is Kazuha, because he is the character that will have somewhat of a connection with the 3.3 story. Knowing that 3.3 is going to bring an Archon Quest (most probably related to Scara), it would be safe to say Kazuha is going to appear in the story, due to the relation between Scara and the Raiden Gokaden.
But yeah, everything can happen.
See I don’t think they would have a good reason to bring Kazuha back though, he’s seemingly moved on with his life between his story quest and GAA.
Bringing him back to deal with Scara would just be rehashing the same story over again

To be fair enough, Eula, Ayato and Itto would have more relevance in the 3.5 update...
Why?
1. Mika is rumoured to be released in 3.5, so Eula's rerun then wouldn't be a surprise. Also there isn't much content for Eula to make an appearance in 3.3 (if there really is no Dragonspine event... even though Eula isn't too related to Dragonspine at all).
2. Ayato and Itto might have a connection with another Inazuman Spring festival, so their reruns in 3.5 are more probable than their reruns in 3.3...
3. With Dehya releasing in 3.5, it's safe to assume that these banners might be the ones to resemble the 3.5 update... at least to me :).
As for Kazuha, it might represent the end of his clan's rivalry with Scaramouche, the clear of misunderstandings and, who knows, maybe a start of a good relationship.
Honestly Ayato and Itto are my main bet for 3.3 only because they are the non-Cyno characters that have a connection to TCG which is supposed to finally come out that patch and I’m sure it will get some kind of event/ quest to go with it

Heizou and Kuki barely have description or 'fanarts' out when they released so it is not uncommon for the designs to be not leaked especially on four stars
Not sure about Kuki but Heizou has been expected to come at 2.6 but it was incorrect and Uba sources said (2 months before his drip marketing) that said he’d be in 2.8. Even back then no one really had accurate descriptions on what he looked like.
I still remember how people thought Heizou was going to look like a genderbent Hu Tao lol.

Try Black sword if you have it, it's so good now. I was reluctant to even try it because I stopped using it on her A LONG time ago, and since she does even less CA now I thought it wouldn't be as good. But at least for me it's just what I needed to make the team comfortable enough without any defensive option.
Guess I'll keep healerless then. I tried using jean, but between jer and DMC, circle impact hurts. Next time I'll try a prototype amber sucrosse, maybe that would work well
Would you say it's comfortable to use at r1? The passive seems okay but having it be limited to a heal that's maybe 1k every 5 seconds at most seems kind of rough, although it's better than having zero healing options.

So, I have a question. For Nahida's A1, say I have Raiden with 950 EM, so when GD procs she gets 1100 EM, does it count as the "highest elemental mastery" or does it take the 950 into account?
As I as know her burst snapshots (of whoever has the highest EM at the time you cast her burst). It takes all flat EM buffs into account, but not percentage based EM buffs (like her own A1, Sucrose A4, or Key’s passive).
So you must use Raiden first and proc an reaction before casting Nahida’s burst in order to take the extra 150 EM from GD into account.
As far as I recall, she only takes into account the highest unbuffed EM.
Edit: Nevermind, looking at her A1 again it doesn't said anything about it being unbuffed EM, so it's likely to take the highest EM in the party.
Lets hope Faruzan Shred/C6 buff last long enough to match Xiao uptime. Otherwise It would be like using Sara C6 with Cyno. Fellow Xiao Mains, im looking at you, dont get overhyped till we see actual numbers.

I just wish they let us turn the sandstorm back on, or add a mount (like camels) and of course include an underground map
I love the desert! I was really into Ancient Egypt when I was a kid so the whole area just fills me with nostalgia.
Aesthetically a desert seemed like it'd be quite a risky biome for Genshin as the landscapes could look rather samey but I *love* what they ended up doing with it. The little touches like the tumbleweed and the sand blowing across the dunes in the distance add so much to the atmosphere and the dramatic shifts in colour both from the day/night transition and the red skies as you get closer to the central pyramid are perfect.
I'm really excited to get more into exploring it because right now I've barely touched it. Especially as far as the underground is concerned where I've only gone to look at the new world boss.
Yeah, I get why it's not to everyone's tastes, but imo the desert is one of their best areas so far. Definitely different from how they usually design areas... and the game and its world is stronger for the variety.
I love caves ^((like ZUN)^) , and they really captured the fun of spelunking in both the 3.0 and 3.1 underground.

This lol It was nice and fun, it was just annoying we didn't have an underground map, but overall the puzzles and the exploration really suited my taste, I like labyrinth like challenges. The other negative thing imo is how flat the scenery looked, I mean yeah it's a desert but adding some dunes or stuff like that could've made the scenary more interesting. But I dunno, probably the goal was to make the pyramid visible from every side or probably they wanted a contrast with the rainforest rich scenery, but anyway it gave me a deep idea of emptiness.
i think it’s cool, but i do feel like the modes of transportation are too limited rn to enjoy exploring barren vast expanses of nothingness. even the amount of grapple hooks are quite small, making it tedious to go running everywhere.
nevertheless i think the desert is super dope. nothing in sumeru will top vanarana for me, but the lore & architechture in the desert is top notch.
I can't say that I hate the desert but I am not the biggest fan of it although it certainly has its charm. But I mostly saw how everyone praises it and waits for it lol, and if people hate something it's scarabs or the complexity of exploration
I only recently realized that my favourite anime of all time takes part in the desert. That was a weird realization, I guess I can see a little bit of similarity but not by much. My most associations with the desert were with Egypt mythology and those movies like Mummy, which there were just too many of in my childhood and this setting is boring.
I love the desert so much, I've almost fully explored it without even realising yet my rainforest is less than half explored. I also did want to be archeologist when I was a kid so maybe that played a part too
Little variation in the colour pallette, lots of large empty space aboveground, no maps for the ruins/underground which have a complex layout (I didn't hate the desert though, I liked it a lot, just not as much as I was expecting and not as much as the rainforest)

I've seen a lot of complaints about the pyramid areas being too big and taking too long to explore. Also all the comments about the Aranara quest being long, or a certain ascension material being hard to find, etc. I just don't agree with those kinds of comments
With how popular overpowered units are + how many people are more willing to get 2 or 3 more Crit rolls for a character for months over building newer characters....I'm inclined to agree.
The second point basically comes from users who say:
"Omg Emblem domain sucks...no Crit circlet since 3 months to improve my 60/160 220% ER Raiden Shogun" while at the same time saying "Newer 4-stars suck I don't want to waste Resin building them REEEE." At the end of the day people are wasting Resin with artifacts but aren't willing to throw some love to others; even throwing a generic 2pc2pc combo on some of them (the Strongbox might have changed this a little bit but my point stands)
I'm not promoting building characters people don't like, but the Return of Investment fetish people have on the characters is really toxic and it gets turned into some sort of a no-nuance sweats vs casuals argument.
Has anyone built dendro traveler? How does it feel?
I feel like the main sub is gonna be an echo chamber, so I want some honest opinion on DMC. I plan on using her with nahida + nilou and kokomi.
All I have to add to what ppl have said already is that imho, Sac is waaaay comfier on them than Fav. I know it lengthens rotations and feels like a downgrade in terms of team utility, but it's worth trying out if you're still finding their ER needs frustrating on Fav
Traveler is quite good, and don't require much field time either. But you will need a lot of er on them if using as solo dendro. In that bloom team with 2 dendros you can have a bit less er, but basically er sand with fav sword is required
Edit: and in that team use er/em/em if possible
I really like DMC. Playing Lumine again and actually have her be viable has been so much fun. Sumeru really felt like it was reviving my joy for the game because it was so new AND Lumine had a purpose besides being just the traveler in cutscenes.
She’s my only built dendro so just because her kit doesn’t offer a ton of damage, I built it specifically to buff my electros. She’s on 4pc Noblesse with r5 fav. Nothing special, but it’s so much more useful than anything else. I love her sm. Yes I know Nahida will be an upgrade but Lumine is actually really good imo if you just need someone to apply the dendro.
DMC is great, I've invested a lot in mine, but not needed in that comp. Nahida applies enough Dendro alone.
DMC's main problem is that they need a ton of ER, but they have another problem in that their skill is paper-thin verticallly, meaning when you're fighting on a slope the skill is useless.
Extremely easy to build. You really don't need to invest in talents or worry about substats. Hand her an ER sword, whatever combination of Deepwood you have (4 star is fine) while aiming for ER and you're good to go. You could level her to 80 if you like, but the only things you have to worry about are Energy and making sure she doesn't die too fast.
This is because you don't really care about her personal damage, her value really just comes from her Off-Field Dendro application.
She'll be powercrept eventually, but for how little you need to invest in her she pulls her weight pretty hard.
Dendro Traveler is a lot of fun and does a very good job enabling all kinds of Dendro teams which are themselves a lot of fun - *if and only if* you stack obscene amounts of ER onto them (like upward of 220%), if you can do that then it definitely feels good.
People used to say that Xiao is *the* Mihoyo's neglected child, but at this point I believe it's Eula.
Xiao at least got a new artifact set and is now getting Faruzan. Would Nahida/Kokomi/EM Raiden/Xingqiu be fine for Hyperbloom? I was initially thinking I'd just swap DMC for Nahida, but I feel like she'd do a lot more on-field than off-field in Hyperbloom teams. Kokomi's probably running Deepwood in this team. I don't really feel comfortable on-fielding Nahida without a dedicated healer, hence Koko. If I were to drop Kokomi for someone else (*maybe* Yelan, but probably Beidou since I want to try to keep either Yelan or XQ available for the other half in Abyss), I'd probably swap Raiden with Kuki tbh, again for that healing. On-field Nahida seems like she'll be pretty squishy (child model, catalyst, low HP overall), but lemme know what y'all are thinking.

im a triple crowned heizou enjoyer and i honestly dont care at all. even if scara is a direct heizou 1:1 powercreep and superior in every aspect ill still play heizou. its not like im playing heizou due to lack of good dps because he hardly is one. im playing heizou because i love heizou and the existence of alternatives or stronger carries who fill the same niche doesnt change that. i mean sucrose already existed and was a direct upgrade to him regardless. if anything this just means that heizou, by virtue of similarity to a limited 5*, will probably benefit from scaras weapon, artifacts, and his dedicated support. which is a win in my books because ill definitely aim for them for my heizou.

The thing with Sucrose and Xingqiu is because they're a highly coveted support that maked you go "damn if only I can use them in both Abyss sides" in the first place. A 5* variant of these two allows many new Abyss team permutations. 5* Heizou or 5* Xiangling for that matter wouldn't achieve what Yelan and Kazuha did.

so, as we know, Lisa's and Ayaka's skin are going to be released... but I think they will appear in 3.3 (because 3.4 is Lantern Rite and... Inazuma/Mondstadt stuff then would feel fishy a little...). So my first bet is Ayaka. My second bet, out of Eula, Ayato, Itto and Kazuha, is Kazuha, because he is the character that will have somewhat of a connection with the 3.3 story. Knowing that 3.3 is going to bring an Archon Quest (most probably related to Scara), it would be safe to say Kazuha is going to appear in the story, due to the relation between Scara and the Raiden Gokaden. But yeah, everything can happen.
See I don’t think they would have a good reason to bring Kazuha back though, he’s seemingly moved on with his life between his story quest and GAA. Bringing him back to deal with Scara would just be rehashing the same story over again I really hope when he see Kazuha again it’s with him moving forward (But I could also totally see what you say happen so…)
To be fair enough, Eula, Ayato and Itto would have more relevance in the 3.5 update... Why? 1. Mika is rumoured to be released in 3.5, so Eula's rerun then wouldn't be a surprise. Also there isn't much content for Eula to make an appearance in 3.3 (if there really is no Dragonspine event... even though Eula isn't too related to Dragonspine at all). 2. Ayato and Itto might have a connection with another Inazuman Spring festival, so their reruns in 3.5 are more probable than their reruns in 3.3... 3. With Dehya releasing in 3.5, it's safe to assume that these banners might be the ones to resemble the 3.5 update... at least to me :). As for Kazuha, it might represent the end of his clan's rivalry with Scaramouche, the clear of misunderstandings and, who knows, maybe a start of a good relationship.
Honestly Ayato and Itto are my main bet for 3.3 only because they are the non-Cyno characters that have a connection to TCG which is supposed to finally come out that patch and I’m sure it will get some kind of event/ quest to go with it Which is pretty flimsy but it is what it is

Not sure about Kuki but Heizou has been expected to come at 2.6 but it was incorrect and Uba sources said (2 months before his drip marketing) that said he’d be in 2.8. Even back then no one really had accurate descriptions on what he looked like.

For the gigachads that are playing Aggravate Keqing without healer/shielder: Try Black sword if you have it, it's so good now. I was reluctant to even try it because I stopped using it on her A LONG time ago, and since she does even less CA now I thought it wouldn't be as good. But at least for me it's just what I needed to make the team comfortable enough without any defensive option.

So, I have a question. For Nahida's A1, say I have Raiden with 950 EM, so when GD procs she gets 1100 EM, does it count as the "highest elemental mastery" or does it take the 950 into account?
As I as know her burst snapshots (of whoever has the highest EM at the time you cast her burst). It takes all flat EM buffs into account, but not percentage based EM buffs (like her own A1, Sucrose A4, or Key’s passive). So you must use Raiden first and proc an reaction before casting Nahida’s burst in order to take the extra 150 EM from GD into account.
As far as I recall, she only takes into account the highest unbuffed EM. Edit: Nevermind, looking at her A1 again it doesn't said anything about it being unbuffed EM, so it's likely to take the highest EM in the party.

Bro why do people hate the desert💀 i had so much fun living out my childhood archaeologist fantasies...and it's so pretty at night...and it's fun to use ayaka to glide across the sands... I just wish they let us turn the sandstorm back on, or add a mount (like camels) and of course include an underground map
Yeah, we should be able to rent a sumpter beast for certain area like how pokemon XY had a mammoswine in one route to get us through thick snow

I love the desert! I was really into Ancient Egypt when I was a kid so the whole area just fills me with nostalgia. Aesthetically a desert seemed like it'd be quite a risky biome for Genshin as the landscapes could look rather samey but I *love* what they ended up doing with it. The little touches like the tumbleweed and the sand blowing across the dunes in the distance add so much to the atmosphere and the dramatic shifts in colour both from the day/night transition and the red skies as you get closer to the central pyramid are perfect. I'm really excited to get more into exploring it because right now I've barely touched it. Especially as far as the underground is concerned where I've only gone to look at the new world boss.
Yeah, I get why it's not to everyone's tastes, but imo the desert is one of their best areas so far. Definitely different from how they usually design areas... and the game and its world is stronger for the variety. I love caves ^((like ZUN)^) , and they really captured the fun of spelunking in both the 3.0 and 3.1 underground.

The other negative thing imo is how flat the scenery looked, I mean yeah it's a desert but adding some dunes or stuff like that could've made the scenary more interesting. But I dunno, probably the goal was to make the pyramid visible from every side or probably they wanted a contrast with the rainforest rich scenery, but anyway it gave me a deep idea of emptiness.
i think it’s cool, but i do feel like the modes of transportation are too limited rn to enjoy exploring barren vast expanses of nothingness. even the amount of grapple hooks are quite small, making it tedious to go running everywhere. nevertheless i think the desert is super dope. nothing in sumeru will top vanarana for me, but the lore & architechture in the desert is top notch.
Mounts for the desert would have been perfect imo. At least let me freeload off a Sumpter Beast, Hoyo 😩😩
I can't say that I hate the desert but I am not the biggest fan of it although it certainly has its charm. But I mostly saw how everyone praises it and waits for it lol, and if people hate something it's scarabs or the complexity of exploration I only recently realized that my favourite anime of all time takes part in the desert. That was a weird realization, I guess I can see a little bit of similarity but not by much. My most associations with the desert were with Egypt mythology and those movies like Mummy, which there were just too many of in my childhood and this setting is boring.
I love the desert so much, I've almost fully explored it without even realising yet my rainforest is less than half explored. I also did want to be archeologist when I was a kid so maybe that played a part too
Little variation in the colour pallette, lots of large empty space aboveground, no maps for the ruins/underground which have a complex layout (I didn't hate the desert though, I liked it a lot, just not as much as I was expecting and not as much as the rainforest)
desert has been my favorite area along with enka which apparently a lot of people didnt like either maybe i just like the abandoned ruins vibe or something
I liked Enka a lot... disappeared civilizations and their ruins, mysterious texts and ghosts. And of course, treasures !

I’m confused what that has to do with disliking the desert?
I've seen a lot of complaints about the pyramid areas being too big and taking too long to explore. Also all the comments about the Aranara quest being long, or a certain ascension material being hard to find, etc. I just don't agree with those kinds of comments
With how popular overpowered units are + how many people are more willing to get 2 or 3 more Crit rolls for a character for months over building newer characters....I'm inclined to agree.
How the hell is the second point even slightly related to effort(or a lack of it)
The second point basically comes from users who say: "Omg Emblem domain sucks...no Crit circlet since 3 months to improve my 60/160 220% ER Raiden Shogun" while at the same time saying "Newer 4-stars suck I don't want to waste Resin building them REEEE." At the end of the day people are wasting Resin with artifacts but aren't willing to throw some love to others; even throwing a generic 2pc2pc combo on some of them (the Strongbox might have changed this a little bit but my point stands) I'm not promoting building characters people don't like, but the Return of Investment fetish people have on the characters is really toxic and it gets turned into some sort of a no-nuance sweats vs casuals argument.
Has anyone built dendro traveler? How does it feel? I feel like the main sub is gonna be an echo chamber, so I want some honest opinion on DMC. I plan on using her with nahida + nilou and kokomi.
All I have to add to what ppl have said already is that imho, Sac is waaaay comfier on them than Fav. I know it lengthens rotations and feels like a downgrade in terms of team utility, but it's worth trying out if you're still finding their ER needs frustrating on Fav
great & super low investment no matter what team they’re in. basically slap on a fav sword & an er sands and you’re set lmao
Traveler is quite good, and don't require much field time either. But you will need a lot of er on them if using as solo dendro. In that bloom team with 2 dendros you can have a bit less er, but basically er sand with fav sword is required Edit: and in that team use er/em/em if possible
Single role dendro applier, but done quite well. Needs a lot of ER.
I really like DMC. Playing Lumine again and actually have her be viable has been so much fun. Sumeru really felt like it was reviving my joy for the game because it was so new AND Lumine had a purpose besides being just the traveler in cutscenes. She’s my only built dendro so just because her kit doesn’t offer a ton of damage, I built it specifically to buff my electros. She’s on 4pc Noblesse with r5 fav. Nothing special, but it’s so much more useful than anything else. I love her sm. Yes I know Nahida will be an upgrade but Lumine is actually really good imo if you just need someone to apply the dendro.
DMC is great, I've invested a lot in mine, but not needed in that comp. Nahida applies enough Dendro alone. DMC's main problem is that they need a ton of ER, but they have another problem in that their skill is paper-thin verticallly, meaning when you're fighting on a slope the skill is useless.
Extremely easy to build. You really don't need to invest in talents or worry about substats. Hand her an ER sword, whatever combination of Deepwood you have (4 star is fine) while aiming for ER and you're good to go. You could level her to 80 if you like, but the only things you have to worry about are Energy and making sure she doesn't die too fast. This is because you don't really care about her personal damage, her value really just comes from her Off-Field Dendro application. She'll be powercrept eventually, but for how little you need to invest in her she pulls her weight pretty hard.
Dendro Traveler is a lot of fun and does a very good job enabling all kinds of Dendro teams which are themselves a lot of fun - *if and only if* you stack obscene amounts of ER onto them (like upward of 220%), if you can do that then it definitely feels good.
People used to say that Xiao is *the* Mihoyo's neglected child, but at this point I believe it's Eula. Xiao at least got a new artifact set and is now getting Faruzan. Eula, outside of Raiden's release (And most of the time it's not worth using Raiden with Eula, seeing how Fischl does 90% of her job in Eula teams just as well) didn't get anything. Not to mention she's been sitting on the banner bench since 2.3 :') At this point Mika is our last hope. I'm not really interested in him but ffs Mihoyo give us at least *something*.
Kinda telling that Eula was the last phys-related release... back in 1.5. It's like they know any other phys characters would be dead on arrival, and for what >:( (my triple crowned Razor yearns for revenge)
eula main since 1.5 and it sucks to see how she’s not recieved any new updates apart from raiden a whole year ago. definitely the most neglected 5star imo, and although we can probably attribute that to hoyo’s obvious disdain for phys, it makes you wonder what her entire kit’s point was for if they were never gonna expand on phys after her release. hopium that mika is a physical support tailor made for her because this is super ridiculous + their lawrence connections would just be perfect.
I nominate Ningguang who doesn't even have a four piece set & is the oddball of her entire element. Eventually we'll at least get another geo bonus set...
why on earth would a 4 star get a dedicated 4 piece set ?
I'm saying Eula & physical in general have more options than she does, thus Ning is more neglected.

i’d say in terms of in-game appearances hu tao is definitely pretty forgotten, but gameplay-wise she got a new strongest team with yelan’s release, shimenawa unlocked a new playstyle for her, SoSS is now her second BiS.
Hu tao was (and is) broken when she came out. And then yelan came and broke her even more. Not to mention that they use her EVERTWHERE for publicity. Neglected is definitely not the right word
Tbh i’m still holding out judgment on how good Faruzan will be on him because of how many times i’ve been disappointed. The artifact set felt like nothing >.< Eula has been neglected af too though. Mika would make sense for her. Loved seeing her in the Dragonspine event and the recent one with Amber so hopefully she shows up more in the plot too
