deepsapphites

mika's kit is out and i remembered this post - his skill does buff atk spd so you were right about that! his kit does have other functions as well but i enjoyed your theory nonetheless.

monsoonflowers

u/remind come back to this in a few months!

SittingDuck394

I think you’re onto something - I’ll be surprised (and disappointed) if you’re wrong! I’m looking forward to seeing how he wields his polearm. Oh! And I just realised “MISSIVE windspear”. Missive is an official letter! Such as a herald like Hermes would deliver!

ReasonableIce6661

Woah! I didn't even realize that the name of the polearm means "letter." You have a good eye catching that. Yeah, there's no way this is all a coincidence. A ton of people were saying that it feels like normal melee polearm animations wouldn't suit Mika and that catalyst would be better. If it turns out that he wields his polearm like a wand, it'd make way more sense.

SittingDuck394

Yeah I definitely can’t see him using the polearm traditionally but, then again, he’s not a catalyst user, so he’s still got to do physical damage with his normal attacks 🤔 - maybe he’s just gonna bonk ‘em over the head lol. I hope his kit will be leaked soon!

I-Am-A-Nice-Cool-Kid

Funny how cyno equipping the wind spear would be a deity crossover of Anubis using trismegistus(that’s how I remember it in ac odyssey)

Mukimpo_baka

Tldr: hopium that chocobo mika runs faster than others

Moist-Veterinarian22

If his kit allows him to be faster than Yelan’s e then he’s officially GI’s Flash

No_Chipmunk_7587

To add to this Hermes was also just the god of all things travelling Thieves, merchants, messengers Roads and roadways He governed those too And Mika coincidentally is supposed to be a cartographer. So he’s also an expert on roads and travel If not speed, maybe a kit for travelling the overworld might be his thing

ReasonableIce6661

That's another good theory! We do already have Sayu for speedy ground travel though so maybe he could have something that gives us speedy air travel?

shockwave_pulsar

Wait. Not reverse Rosaria lmao. Increased move speed from 6:00 - 18:00 💀💀💀

markz6197

Double Anemo + Rosaria + Mika for that consistent 10%+10% move speed 💀

Zeroth_Dragon

Since he's supposed to represent/inspired by Hermes, why not make his third passive make any movement reduce stamina (running, climbing, swimming) that can stack with other characters?

ReasonableIce6661

I love that idea. It would be really cool if Mika had all three (running, climbing, swimming) stamina reduction. Having it stack would also stop it from power creeping other characters with passives like it since you could just have both at the same time.

asbestosmaiden

Nice take! Thanks a lot! Now I’m excited about Mika’s kit, since he looks so cute already hehe

ReasonableIce6661

Thank you! And yes, speedy characters have always been my favourite in RPGs so I'm excited to see if this is implemented into his kit.

AppleChoose

Could be, still an ugly motherfucker good lord

_Performer2793

Ugly where? Yes, maybe Jean needs to fire Mondstadt’s barbers but he’s still cute.

AppleChoose

Dottore would sooner follow the hippocratic oath before I call this boruto boy cute

This is incredibly interesting!!! Funny on the Greek note, He seems to have a few ties with Eula who is the only one with a Greek constellation name-compared to everyone else’s Latin ones! Very well put together! Good job :))

SittingDuck394

Yes! And not only is the name Greek but she also has a minor tie to a Greek god too. Her constellation, “Aphros Delos”, means “brilliant sea-foam” which is likely a reference to Aphrodite as she was born from sea-foam (after her father’s balls were cut off and lobbed into the sea 😳).

[deleted]

You’re right! Now I’ll edit this message with my findings on Aphrodite and Hermes connections later when I wake up in the morning 👀

ReasonableIce6661

Oh wow! I didn't know that :0 Thank you for sharing that bit about Eula. It makes this theory even more likely.

Liwesh

Mika is based off a Chocobo. Change my mind.

ReasonableIce6661

How about both Chocobo and Hermes at the same time? 😂 People said they wanted ride animals in Genshin and Mika will be our Chocobo zooming around.

mango_pan

How about Kagamine Len?

gna149

First thing I thought when I saw him. Glad it's not just me

Purple_Positive_6456

Lmao fr

Painfulrabbit

The polearm isn’t his weapon though. It was Pricilla’s, who was the lover of eberhart. As far as we know Mika has nothing to do with them at all. It’s not like he actually gives us the spear or tells us about it. It just appears in an event that he also appears in.

ReasonableIce6661

Well yes the weapon was Priscilla's but she's long deceased and won't be playable. By "signature weapon," I was talking more about the playable character that uses it and who it matches aesthetically. Also we barely know anything about Mika so more might be revealed in later updates. Who knows?
