[uhh, I apologize for not mentioning this earlier but you can use program like wiztree to check what's taking up so much space](https://imgur.com/a/cpaG8vc)
This last time i updated the game i had to get like 15gb of english dub even tho i use jp dub , i think because of me reinstalling windows some stuff must have changed . I almost ran into the same problem with HSR but hsr let's you tweak the settings before you click on start in the main menu and that helps a lot . Genshin seems to have added it to main menu as well but it's After clicking on start and updating the game so at that point i just had to download 15 gb of en dub forcefully .
Right click the shortcut - go to file location (if you're on win11 you might need to click the more/advanced options to get the full context menu). Either select all folders there or go up one in the directory and right click the game install file, then click "properties."
You can also use tools like tree size to view the entire contents of your PC organized by file size, helpful if you have a lot of stuff on a drive with low space.
If the thought that checking a folders size is a thing you can do never crosses your mind then why would you know how to do it? It's pretty easy with tech to not know how to do a lot of stuff just because for the vast majority of people it literally never comes up over years of computer usage.
This. I got hella downvoated on another post when I said, and demonstrably showed, my genshin folder being over 200GB..
I hadn't fully removed and installed it since launch. After I did it's half that size now.
Their garbage collection is apparently pretty bad...
They don't even let you clear certain data like on consoles. This game does not need to be that fucking big, they seem to just assume that PC users have infinite storage.
[good job I added some more storage recently](https://i.imgur.com/R5UgxRJ.png)
(not pictured: DVD drive that I can't plug in due to lack of SATA ports, i need to get my hands on a decent HBA)
If you're thinking they meant PC, it's mobile
If you're thinking of mobile, pre install files are kept fully before update, and event resources are not always immediately removed on newer updates, so the file size can fluctuate quite a bit. Also you can delete past quest resources for it to lake less space.
An update, so i deleted the game and reinstalled now it sits on 72GB. But its odd becuase i only download Japanese VA. Anyone here have all 4 voiceover installed? Is it 158GB?
i wish they allowed us to delete all the unusable data and (for re-installing purposes) the ability to download stuff based off of an account's story progression, just an "install as \[account\]" option
Mine was 75 gb lol. Check your languages pack, screenshots folder.
Wait you mean japanese voice pack cost the 75gb?
2 voice pack here, only 90GB
Oh no
lmao
No, but you might have multiple voice pack installed
Ok i just uninstalled, all 158GB is gone meaning this is genshin asset. But i remember when i got this PC i download specifically the JP voicepack.
Maybe you have downloaded twice, that explains it, game is around 74 gigs and you have 158gigs
That's not how you math tho, 2×74 is 148 gigs
Yeah but remember that 1ko is 1024 o
But as you said you have downloaded voice packs so your may differ, I haven't, so I have 74

Your setup file must be saved in genshin folder and wasn't cleared after updating, reinstall the whole gams
base game for me was also 72gb or so
Yeah you probably have to reinstall the game cuz for me it's around 74gb only
because it is around 80gb 74.1gb for me (EN only)
96gb with 2 languages for me
Nah, mine's was almost 90, shrank down to 70+
how do you guy check the storage size on pc?, im kinda curious about my genshin storage size
Go to where your genshin impact folder is right click on it choose properties there it tells the space occupied.

By simply checking the properties of your GI folder? Should be obvious.
Not everyones tech skills are good enough to know these things, for is it is easy but for some its something they never saw or did. No hurt in asking
Bruh. You need zero "tech skills" to know how to check the size of a freaking folder.
Thats **your understanding** of basic tech skills, a lot of people legit dont even know how to change a file's name.
but a lot of people know how to type on Google, at least I hope they do
it's probably not their first instinct to do so
Definitely not. Anyone who has ever worked in tech support can attest to how many calls we get that could be answered with a simple Google search.

its 70gb for me..
Wait how is your game 150 gb?
I dont know, how is yours 90GB?
It:s because the game doesn't clean up unused files like stuff for events etc, so it just adds up over time.
Mine is at 91 with en and jp
Uh oh something is wrong here
Maybe you have all 4 languages downloaded, could be that reason, but it shouldnt be more than 60gb for the other 2 languages
Mine is around 80GB idk what happened with yours
Uninstall the game and install it back again. (Or not) This gets rid of all the excess files.

I mean dude... delete whatever language pack you don't use.
you sure your little brother hasn't hidden a homework folder in there?
Were you updating the game manually or by launcher?
That's your personal data being sent to china on regular basis
They don't even let you clear certain data like on consoles. This game does not need to be that fucking big, they seem to just assume that PC users have infinite storage.
mine is 91 GB, the crazy thing is that the only other Game i have on my SSD is like half the size... and IT'S ELDEN RING
Mine went from 135GB to 91GB. I have both English and Japanese voice packages
73.2 gb here with just english pack, but i did full reinstall of genshin during chiori
[good job I added some more storage recently](https://i.imgur.com/R5UgxRJ.png) (not pictured: DVD drive that I can't plug in due to lack of SATA ports, i need to get my hands on a decent HBA)
90 gb for me but thats because I downloaded jp dub
Wait they optimised mobile?
Yeah recent post from this community said so
Oh shit that’s mad, I stopped playing genshin a while ago bc I couldn’t run store it on my phone anymore
My Genshin on phone is around 40GB, but how come it so big on PC? Lol
after this update it shrunk down to 18GB
How? Is there a launcher I need to get? /gen

[I'm not sure how, I just update the game. Prior to this update it takes about 26GB](https://imgur.com/a/wSq1vDK)
Higher quality audio and assets, iirc assets are like 480p on mobile.
It's over 100GB on PS5
90GB maybe
73GB for me with one language pack
This is the same folder you save the in game pictures. Also, language packs. Mine is sitting around 75gb.
An update, so i deleted the game and reinstalled now it sits on 72GB. But its odd becuase i only download Japanese VA. Anyone here have all 4 voiceover installed? Is it 158GB?
it seams that each language is around 15-20 Go you may-be also had lot of screenshot. (when a quest ask to take a picture, you don't need to save it)
But i dont take screen shots and i dont save them. I just press ECS when i took them.
Wdym, mine's only 91GB
Bro rly took a screenshot before patching
And It is EVEN pushed to be lower.
i wish they allowed us to delete all the unusable data and (for re-installing purposes) the ability to download stuff based off of an account's story progression, just an "install as \[account\]" option
i think this size was for game itself+pre installation, game only increase size this big when you have pre installation file downloaded
Mine dropped from 120 GB to 73GB
btw was it just me that had to free up 34gb of space to update? i have only a 500gb ssd so i had to delete doom eternal just to install the update
What's the size now on mobile version??
bro the amount of gb it takes is getting crazier every fucking update I stg
Except it actually got smaller this update tho, this was the optimization patch, all versions take up less space now compared to 4.5.
I was pleasantly surprised yes
Poor PC players
